Opinions de Yang Kee Dumplings Roseville
Wow!!! Their pork BBQ buns are so light, not heavy pork flavored, light tangy delicious! I don’t normally eat BAO due to heaviness of the bun, but it really took me by surprise! Soup dumplings are heavenly! And also their green beans w black bean sauce, it’s really tasty! I would definitely say YES and coming back to try other items on their menu. It’s not too bad on your wallet either 🤭💗🙌
Good news spread fast in this area and what a treat to have a very decent dumpling place in Roseville. They are just in their soft opening phase but this restaurant already delivered and exceeded my expectations. Really good selection of dumplings and sautéed dishes. Price point is at par with what you can get from the Bay Area but what a great convenience to not drive all the way there for some dumpling fix 😬 We can’t wait to go back for their sautéed dishes. Very nice art on the walls and overall great experience and customer service.
Tried a new restaurant in Roseville. Yang kee Dumpling on 1470 Eureka Rd. #170, Roseville. They also have a restaurant in Davis, CA. The food was great! It is so nice to have access to dumplings without driving to South Sacramento or Natomas.😬 We had the Hong Kong style chicken chow mein. For dumplings: 1. Shanghai Soup Dumplings (ground pork). Be careful biting into it (hot soup can squirt out). 2. Shrimp Har Kow 3. Pork Shumai *The Hong Kong style is the traditional noodle. 😋 The table next to us had steamed vegetable dumplings and kung pao chicken. For entertainment, you can watch the dumplings being made in the glass enclosed kitchen!🙂 The entry is level, and access for wheel chairs is easy. There is an outside eating area for alfresco on cooler evenings. On the negative side: 1. I tried to book a future reservation, and could only book 3 days in advance. 2. Reservations for six guests, forces a mandatory 18% tip.🤯 3. Hours 11am-3pm and the restaurant closes. Reopening 430pm-11pm for dinner. Prices are $$. Service was great. Plenty of recommendations are available if you want advice.🙏
Went here for a late lunch this afternoon with a friend who had been before. We were greeted quickly. All the tables were full, and we were seated quickly after one table freed up. Our server was great, very engaging, and offered recommendations when asked. I ended up with the vegetarian dumplings and the Curry Chicken bao. We shared the Sautéed Green Beans as a table. Everything was delicious! Would definitely go back again.
Beautiful interior, excellent and speedy service, and delectable food. The kitchen has glass walls so you can see the chefs preparing dumplings, and they arrive at your table hot and delicious. I tried the wontons in chili oil and the pork soup dumplings and they were perfect alone and enjoyed together to break up the spice with the comforting soup. The waitresses and hostesses were incredibly friendly, checked on us often, and were overall very pleasant. The interior is gorgeous, with painted walls and florals in the dining area. 10/10 would recommend. Will be returning to enjoy more dumplings :) Update: came back again and I was so excited to see a crowd and filled tables!! The first time my friend and I came here was the same week that they opened, so seeing it become popular is super fun. My boyfriend and I got the pork soup dumplings and the wontons in chili oil I loved so much the last time, and we added the baked BBQ pork bao to the order as well. Top tier. He said it was his favorite item of the night, but soup dumplings still hold the keys to my heart.
The service was amazing. Xingxon (Sing-Hon), our waiter was super attentive, he explained the ingredients for every dish we wanted to know more about, he shared what was most popular among customers and what his favorites were. The Yang Kee dumplings were packed with (fresh) shrimp and crab flavor. The salt and pepper ribs ate like grandma's fried chicken. The cubed beef was perfectly tender in the fried rice. The garlic green beans were the perfect texture between tender enough to absorb flavor (and not be waxy like some green beans), but still crisp enough to crunch when you bite through. The flavor and flakiness of the house fish filets put the meal over the top. This entire meal was a 10/10.
Yang Kee Dumpling is extremely good. We came here for dinner on a weekend and there was a small wait but it was worth it. The food reminded me of Din Tai Fung. This restaurant is like a mini version of Din Tai Fung. They have good dumplings and pork Bao (pictured). The portions are huge and are meant to be shared with a group or as a family. I had wonderful dreams about the Yang Kee dumplings three weeks after eating there. Everywhere I look I see Yang Kee dumplings. One day I will be back to eat more Yang Kee dumplings. Thanks Yang Kee Dumpling for making the best dumplings.
My family visited Yang Kee Dumpling tonight on their opening night in Roseville. We ordered pork soup dumplings, pork chive dumplings, garlic noodles with beef, Shanghai shumai, and chrysanthemum tea. We loved all of the food we recieved. Everything tasted very healthy and fresh! The wait staff was very friendly and helpful as well. The atmosphere in the restaurant was clean and felt more upscale. They have a spacious dining room, and you can see the chefs folding dumplings in the kitchen, which is cool. We will definitely be going back!
It was super busy on Saturday night. We put our name for waitlist at 6pm and the wait time was about 40 mins according to Yelp. So, we arrived about 10 mins before supposed time but the restaurant was super packed. We had to wait for another hour until seated. So, the estimated wait time wasn't reliable. On the other hand, most dishes that we ordered were tasty. The portion was generous and we were stuffed at the end. The service was prompt and friendly too. - Pork soup dumpling / XLB: good. The skin had good thickness yet the filling was very solid (well seasoned and meaty). The soup inside was very good too. - BBQ pork bao: super good. They had crispy sweet layer and the BBQ pork filling was very tasty. - Wonton in chili oil: good. The wonton pieces were big and perfectly cooked. The filling was well seasoned. The chili oil was good and spicy. - Fried mantau: soft, buttery, and so good! The condensed milk dip complemented the bun perfectly. - Shrimp fried rice: very generous portion and very tasty. The rice was perfectly coated with the sauce and it had the perfect firmness.
Finally waited enough to get a seat at this popular dumpling spot. Try to get an online reservation at least the day before otherwise expect to wait upto an hour. I had been excited to visit since the first time I saw the beautiful bird paintings on the walls. We went on a Sunday afternoon on a rainy day perfect for some warm food and drinks. We ordered jasmine tea for one person, it comes in a teapot and honestly two people can enjoy easily. Then we got the shrimp pork loofah soup dumpling (8 pieces). Delicious filling and pairing it with the amazing chilli oil and soy sauce is a plus. Next, we got the dry chow fun which is made with flat rice noodles, bean sprouts and meat of your choice. It comes in a very good portion size. Definitely a must try. And finally, the cutest dessert of all time, coconut pudding which comes in the shape of rabbits. Not very sweet and just perfect way to end the meal. I am egg intolerant, hence, I had confirmed and made sure none of the items had egg intolerant them.
I’ve been to the Davis location, so I knew that Yang Kee was a spot that would impress my friends. I’m not sure which is the original, however I felt that the Roseville is the original one based on the size and the ambiance. It felt more elevated. Regardless, both spots had amazing food. Anything you order here will hit whatever craving you are feeling. The stand out dishes for us were the Chinese spinach and the stir fry noodles with gravy. The noodles were on another level that I have never experienced in my life.
We have been coming here almost weekly because we know it’s a hot fresh meal made very quickly. Get the pork soup dumplings. You will not be disappointed. Bao are good and not dense. Meal wise we stick to the black pepper steak cube and orange chicken. These are the best proteins we have had after trying many different things. We love coming here.
Hands down the best dumplings in placer county! I moved here from the Bay Area and not having an amazing dumpling restaurant around was a bummer until this place opened up! Chili oil dumplings are a must if you like them spicy. Don’t come during the lunch rush as you’ll be stuck waiting awhile.
Probably one of the best and most authentic Chinese food restaurants in the area. Large variety and HUGE portions. All comes to your table hot, steaming, and delicious. Friendly, attentive staff ☺️✨Get here early! Word spreads fast, it can get crowded bc people know they’re so good.
Came in for dinner around 5 on Super Bowl Sunday. Seated immediately. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Ordered a bunch of food and was blown away how fast it started coming out. Everything tasted exceptional. Table felt a little small for 5.
This was an overdue visit but we’re so glad to have made it happen. My family and I came for dinner and to celebrate my grandmother’s birthday. Having arrived just shortly after opening you would think that there wouldn’t be too many people, but alas, there was a line. However, our party of 8 were quickly sat and the service was impeccable. From start to finish, our experience was great and we will be back. Don’t forget to order the wontons in chili oil (maybe even order 2 if you’re with a big party!) I should also mention that prices were so reasonable and portion sizes were generous. We ordered alot, ate ALOT and we still had to food leftover to take home.
"Top-tier dumplings, Michelin-level taste, but awkward service." This place serves some of the best dumplings I've ever had—easily on par with Michelin-starred restaurants in SF. It’s a gem for all dumpling lovers. The only downside was the service; they brought out our desserts before the main dishes. I’m only giving a high rating because the food was so outstanding. With better service timing, it would be a 10/10.
“Wow!!!” just doesn’t do this justice. Everything was amazing and we ordered way more than we needed because (a) choices are hard and (b) leftovers are real. Our server Andy was super helpful and informative; spot on recommendations. Best dish was the pork/crab soup dumpling but best is also a relative term when everything was something I’ll get again. Prices were what I’d expect for the caliber of atmosphere, food quality, and service. Would highly recommend for a date night, special event, business meeting, or any time that needs that extra special touch.
Great tasting and affordable. More of taiwanese cuisine than mainland chinese which I prefer! :) xiao long bao the truffle one is great! My wife’s favorite is the fish fillet and chao fan fried rice. Great staff too! Big portion servings.
I recommend this place to literally EVERYONE! I dream about the cucumber salad, the chili oil wontons, the chow mein and the bao and in all honesty everything I’ve ever eaten there. I want to go back every single day. Everything is so delicious and scrumdiddlyumptious. The service isn’t bad either. Overall this place is 10/10.
Awesome experience or Chinese dining. Best dumplings and dim sum in Roseville. Fried rice was great. Their service is great and they have clean place and fast to get served
A fine Chinese restaurant for me! Serving an authentic and excellent food, specially dumplings and noodles! You can also watch how they make those fresh shu-mai/wonton. The place is busy when we got there one Friday night (last minute plan), so, go on line for table reservations in advance so you won’t wait for 30 to 60 mins as we experienced for the first time. But the food is worth waiting for!
Delicious. I’m here at least once every week. Try the Yang Kee Xiao long bao (soup dumplings) combo, it has all 4 varieties of the soup dumplings offered. And all of the baos (buns) in the special menu are made to order, scrumptious, and flavorful. I dream about those buns… with their Hong Kong milk tea.
Yang Kee Dumpling has the best service and delicious food, but they're very busy! Fortunately, they have an online waiting list you can join on your cell phone even if you're on your way to the restaurant. You can check how long the estimated waiting is and how many tables are ahead of you. The food in Yang Kee Dumpling is yummy. They have more delicious food than just dumplings. The service is great! I enjoyed every minute of my dining experience there.
The food at Yang Kee Dumpling is outstanding! The BBQ pork bao was our favorite item we ordered and we can’t wait to come back and try more bao. We also enjoyed the orange chicken and chicken dumplings. We had some dessert ordered-to go to enjoy later in the evening. I was very impressed with how quickly the food came out upon ordering, and our waiter was fantastic who offered exceptional service. The restaurant was popping on a Thursday night, so if coming on a weekend I definitely would recommend making a reservation online.
I’m going to start my review by just saying WOW! My husband and I went to Yang Kee Dumpling for lunch today. We’ve heard about this place and its popularity at the David location. I’ll start off by saying the inside is spacious and inviting. They do use those flexible clear plastic covers on their tables which gets a bit annoying because I kept catching the lip with my hand. Other than that, we sat at a round table next to the kitchen. I’ll admit I was freezing cold, but that’s not on them as I’m always cold. It took a bit for our waiter to arrive, but we did arrive at the lunch rush and he was super attentive thereafter. Now, we’ve eaten at other dumpling places, so we ordered based on our experience when it comes to portion size. I would not say it was a mistake, but it was way too much food for us (luckily it will be dinner and probably lunch). Here’s what we ordered: crispy shrimp wontons, cucumber salad, Mabo Tofu, wontons in chili oil, pepper beef dumplings, and the pork soup dumplings. We are provided chili oil and I’m guessing a ponzu sauce for dipping. The food started coming out quickly, steaming hot and cooked perfectly (except for the cucumber salad - because it’s cold). The shrimp wontons were huge, crispy and loaded with filling. The cucumber salad was delicious and fresh, with cilantro and spring onion. The Mabo Tofu was hands down amazing! The tofu was silky, plenty of minced pork, spices were on point and had something I couldn’t recognize, but were little bits of flavor bombs. I would go back just for the Mabo Tofu alone! Next up was the wontons in chili oil. Again, smashed it out of the park in flavor. The wontons sat in delicious spicy chili oil, covered in peanuts and sauce. Each bite was sooo tasty. The pork soup dumplings came and the soup was spectacular! So flavorful and they were loaded with soup! The minced pork and dumpling was equally delicious and I highly recommend. We were already in heaven, so we forgot we ordered the pepper beef dumplings. Once again, packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. I cannot say enough how delicious everything was and this may be our new favorite spot. I’m looking forward to trying more on my next visit, but will definitely be getting the Mabo Tofu.
Great place! Busy for a reason! Fresh food and made fast. Ribs are not my favorite but it was good to try it out. Cucumber salad is a must!!
Everytime I have come here i have enjoyed everything. If you're out and looking for a fun and tasty experience this is the place. The fry montou is my favorite. But everything is delicious.

Yang Kee is probably one of the only few places in Roseville that I know I am always going to get good quality, consistent food! They are extremely fast at bringing the food out and are 10/10 quality and flavor every single time I’ve went there. They are my go-to for any girls night, date night, family dinner. Would recommend the cucumber salad, wonton chili oil, garlic noodles are to die for, and garlic green beans. Excellent!
Incredible food. When I look for asian food, I think about how much my parents would potentially love it and I can't wait to take them when they are in town. The hot and sour soup is delicious and the garlic noodles are a must. The soup dumplings have a slightly thicker wrapper than Din Tai Fung but they feel more filling. Would recommend!

Went on a Sunday for lunch and the place was packed, we waited for some time since we’re already 9th in line. Once seated, we ordered pork soup dumplings, pan fry pork buns, HK style chow mein, salt & pepper spareribs, pork chive noodle soup & the HK milk tea. Everything’s freshly cooked! I liked the fried pork buns and spareribs (a little salty), while the other 3 dishes were good, they were not extraordinary. The milk tea was pricey for a small glass and my son didn’t like it that much. Overall, good quality resto in the area.
Salt and pepper pork ribs, wonton in chili oil, siew mai but the dish stood out the most was the garlic noodle it was just right amount of tenderness not soggy at all, flavorful as well. The pork baked pork bbq bao was delish the crispy crust outside and the sweet savory filling, a perfect combo.
Consistently tasty and quality dumplings and Chinese food. Would recommend as a solid choice for Roseville!
*Update December 2024* Went in on a Sunday around 12pm – they were slammed. Very popular place. Yang our server was very personable and had great timing. Food was delicious, really liked the Yang Chow Fried Rice, the Hot & Sour Soup was addicting, and would order the Hong Kong Shumai again. Pretty much everything was great - the only one I'd probably not order again was the Gravy Chow Fun with shrimp - it just didn't have as much flavor as the other dishes. *First Visit* We went in on a Saturday around 6pm-ish and this place was slammed. To make things a little more interesting the A/C was broken (and it was 105+ outside) and the poor staff were working in long sleeve shirts and pants. They pulled it off - great service, lots of ice water to go around, portable fans were on high and no one passed out. On to the food — we ordered the Hong Kong Style Chow Mein which was just ok, but tastes much better as leftovers the next day. We also ordered the Steamed BBQ Pork Bao which was good, but next time I might try the baked version. The Pork Chive Dumplings were awesome and my favorite dish because it was packed with flavor. The Yang Kee Sampler Dumplings - tasty when eaten with some of the provided sauces. Overall, great experience, great service, and looking forward to trying out more the menu.

Consistently tasty and quality dumplings and Chinese food. Would recommend as a solid choice for Roseville!
The food is great. Fresh and tasty. The service is attentive, friendly, and helpful with navigating the menu. The restaurant is very clean with an open view of the kitchen where the staff preps the food. In my experience with dim sum, I do prefer to have both- great food and decent prices. Unfortunately 5 pieces of braised chicken feet for $10.25 is a bit much. I'm assuming it's one of their signature dishes since it's located at the first page of their good looking menu. Some dim sum places I have been to have the braised chicken feet $2-$3 less than Yang Kee. The menu has a good design, looks like a yearly datebook with pictures of the dishes and their price points. We ordered 5 dishes total for $83. Everything was good, the food is tasty and fresh. The restaurant is very clean and staff is friendly and attentive. Always busy, lots of customers which means good food. Just a little pricey. The restaurant has a tablet at the front entrance for you to enter your party's info( Name, how many people in your group, etc.). We got lucky on our first visit, the restaurant was busy but we immediately got a table. My family and I do recommend Yang Kee, we will definitely go back.
We decided to give them a try on Month’s day, the first impression was no well because they made bunch of people stand outside right under the sun waiting for 10-20 minutes where they have a waitlist machine in store. After we ordered the lady brought us sauces, every other table each person have their own, I have to ask for extra so everyone have their own.we also have a one year old baby, we have to ask them for baby utensils as well. The server just didn’t care at all. Overall the most stand out food was the garlic noodles. We will give another try in the future to decide recommend or not.
we really wanted to love this place as we're big fans of soup dumplings but there were a few things that were a miss for us. we'll rip the band aid off and start with the bad first. the peking pork spare ribs were not good :( they were heavily breaded and had no flavor. *womp womp*. they were sold out of the baked bbq pork bao so we settled for the pan fry pork buns which tasted like a meatball inside a bun we also tried the yang kee soup dumplings; which we probably would've been happier with the OG pork soup dumplings. what was good, the wontons in chili oil -- had great flavor and were cooked perfectly. the garlic noodles were incredible; probably some of the best i've ever had! the green beans were delicious, wish we ordered more. the service was pretty good, and we didn't have to wait long for our table once we checked in. HIGHLY recommend getting in the waitlist to save you some time!

The dumplings are pretty good but the hot and sour soup had a some off putting sweetness. We ordered a clay pot dish that was very sweet. I didn't enjoy either dish. The dumplings were pretty good. We ordered the XLB and chive dumplings. The XLB were good and chive dumplings were better. I have had better Chinese food elsewhere, especially for the price.
Today we visited Yangkee in Roseville. The restaurant was very busy, which initially gave us high expectations. We weren’t very hungry, so we ordered soup dumplings (xiao long bao), salt and pepper pork ribs, and beef chow fun. The soup dumplings were good and flavorful, and seeing how crowded the restaurant was made me even more excited for the rest of the dishes. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill with the pork ribs. The dish came out very quickly. When I took a bite, I immediately noticed my rib was cold, while the piece my husband picked up was hot. After checking the plate, I realized several pieces were completely cold. I informed our server right away. He apologized sincerely and clearly told us (twice) that the dish would be remade. A new plate arrived shortly after. Shockingly, one piece of meat on the new plate had already been bitten. At that moment, it became obvious that the original dish had simply been taken back to the kitchen and refried, rather than remade as promised. This was extremely disappointing. The server looked embarrassed and offered to remove the dish from our bill, and asked if we would like to order something else. At that point, I had completely lost my appetite and just wanted to finish the beef chow fun and leave. Unfortunately, the chow fun was also underwhelming. The noodles were unevenly colored, lacked wok hei, and were far below the standard of some Cantonese restaurants in Sacramento. The server brought some complimentary dessert as an apology. I still paid the bill and left a 20% tip because I believe the server did his best to handle the situation professionally. My disappointment is directed at the kitchen. For us, this experience was unacceptable. We will not be returning, nor will we recommend this restaurant to friends.
Come here early if you don’t want to fight long waiting lines. Apparently it is not enough to get your name on the waitlist but reservations gets seated first. Before leaving the house, I placed party of 3 on the waitlist, thinking by the time we arrive, our table will be ready. Took us 17 minutes to get there, wait another 30 minutes for a table. Reservation people starting piling in, so we placed order to go. Of course, another 30 minutes before the food is ready. I will not be back for awhile
We were served completely raw chicken. It was disrespectful. My sister ate an entire raw dumpling before realizing. I ate half a raw dumpling. Now we're waiting to get salmonella. Staff briefly apologized and took it back, but that was it. No manager check-in, no attempt to make it right. When you serve someone raw poultry, shouldn't there be more than just sorry for a health hazard? Not asking for freebies. Stay safe out there.
