Opinions de Sichuan Garden Round Rock
This spot has quickly become our go-to for Chinese. Hands-down the best Chinese Sichaun food in Round Rock—maybe even the whole Austin area. Every dish is fresh, bursting with flavor, and hits the spot. It’s got that classic old-school Chinese restaurant charm you just don’t find much anymore.
This place was sooo good. If you eat gluten free, they have so many options for you. We ordered Mongolian Beef and Orange Chicken, very much a cliché, but I didn't care because I wanted comfort food! Rice was perfectly cooked and so were the green beans. Staff was so friendly. The owner seated us, but quickly disappeared to the back as the waitress told us he still cooks all the food 🥹
Great gluten free menu with LOADS of choice. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the food was outstanding. Felt very safe to eat here as a family member is celiac and happy to report no reactions at all.
My wife and I came here twice during our weekend stay to watch the F1 races and the ladies that served us were so exceptionally sweet and friendly. We had very pleasant conversations with them as we waited for our food. The food was amazing and well packaged (we ordered to go). Their menu is well organized, and I could quickly find vegan options for myself (they had a a lot of vegan options!). I got the orange tofu, Singapore noddles and tofu with hot garlic sauce, all equally delicious. I only wish we had this restaurant back home in Houston, as we eat here often.
The crispy garlic spicy chicken was the best thing I’ve ever eaten. All of their other dishes were good too. A little hole in the wall with really fantastic food. Definitely recommend trying this place out.
Wow, where do I start with this place. I guess I should start by saying this is hands down the best Chinese food I've ever had, mind you, I've never visited China. But the owner has 50 years of cooking experience, and you can REALLY tell. This is not your typical Chinese restaurant where everything has that same Chinese food taste that we are all used to. This food really tastes finely crafted and what I would imagine to be a true slice of the Chinese Homeland. The breading on the fried items is incredible, the service you get from this family-owned restaurant is amazing. Very nice people who are extremely humble when it comes to just how amazing their food tastes. They go above and beyond for their customers, I live on a completely different side of town, about 30 minutes from this restaurant, and I literally refuse to order Chinese food from anywhere else. I will either make the drive up there myself, or be willing to pay a friend who lives nearby the restaurant, a thoughtful delivery fee to bring it to me, THATS how great this food is. I've only ever left a review for about 3 businesses in my whole life, and this is one of them. Do not walk, please RUN to this restaurant and try their food!
Always great food and friendly service! I love spicy Sichuan food, and Sichuan Garden is one of the best spots in the greater Austin area! (They can raise or lower the spice level upon request to suit individual preferences.) I especially enjoy the Hot & Sour Soup, the Mapo Tofu, the Sichuan Dry-Fried Beef, the House Special Lamb, the Mala Fried Rice, the Thai Basil Fried Rice, the Squid in Special Salt, the Diced Chicken and Shrimps, the House Dry Pot, the Sichuan Mao Cai Stew, the Stir-Fried Pork Kidney, and the Pork Intestine with Multi-Flavor Chili! Also, the Mongolian (any meat)!
The food here is amazing I work couple doors down . Guy in the front always goes above and beyond even walks my food to me. The moogoo gai pan is one of my favorite. I kept forgetting to put a review.
AMAZING GLUTEN FREE OPTION!!! Big portion sizes and food tasted great. My wife is celiac but for those that can eat gluten, get the Crab Rangoons.
High Quality Food, Wife is Vegan. I am not. We were both very pleased, which rarely happens. This restaurant is for To-Go orders only. Not their fault. They can’t find enough wait staff to open dine in area. We placed an order for three entree’s. We thought our bill was a little high at the time we ordered ($56) but their portions are huge. We ended up getting 6 meals out of this order, so the price was fair. We will definitely come back again.
The food is great and made to order. Large servings. They have a big gluten free menu (and it’s not just white sauce like most Chinese restaurants). They treated us like guests in their home. Great experience!
First - thank you for labeling your gluten free items and offering a large selection. Typically GF menus are limited to 3-5 items. I ordered from here exclusively for this reason. Ordered the gluten free pecan shrimp. 😋 I could not be more satisfied with the meal. LARGE delicious shrimp with the perfect amount of sauce. Very generous portion. Thank you for making gluten free taste exceptional! I will be back! Maybe even tomorrow 😀
I had the lemon Chicken & fried rice. The meal was absolutely amazing great favor and cooked to perfection I will be back when I'm in town again.
We came here yesterday for lunch and Sichuan Garden seriously hits the spot. I came for the spice and stayed for the insanely good food and awesome service. The server was super friendly like, "make you feel like family" friendly and the food? 🔥 Literal fire. Mouth was on fire but in the best way possible. Definitely will be back.
This is the Chinese restaurant you are looking for! I am quite picky picky about Chinese food. I've spent many years in New York City where that food can be amazing. I've been disappointed since leaving there. I believe this is a family owned business. We were greeting promptly by a very friendly and polite young man who did all the serving. I ordered the hot a sour soup and lamb with onions. My wife had chicken fried rice. All of the dishes were exploding with flavor, in the best possible manner. I always get hot and sour soup. This was the best I've had. The flavors were rich and more complex than any previous verrsions I had. The lamb was extremely tender and tasty and the sauce was very aromatic and delicious. My wife is gluten free so she could not have any what I ordered but was entranced by the smells. I had a spoonful of her chicken fried rice. The chicken was moist and tender, not dried out at all. The sauce and other ingredients worked together like magic. The soups come in either 16 or 32 ounce bowls. The main course portions were huge. I am estimating the amount we did not eat at the restaurant will make 4 more meals. This was my 1st visit to Sichuan Garden, but will not be my last.
2/2026 clean and quiet locally owned Chinese restaurant with a huge menu and great food. You can tell when your food is individually prepared versus being spooned out of a large vat that's been sitting around a while, and this place makes yours fresh just for you. Plus your money is going to real local owners who work hard and reinvest locally, not to big corporate profiteering.
If you're looking for a place that can handle your large group of 6-20 people, this is it. It's setup with large tables and lazy susans even in a smaller dining space. The food is delicious!
We’re from San Antonio and we found this very good restaurant when we visited to Round Rock. All the dishes were amazing and service was so great. The owner lady help us to pack as well as we’re staying at hotels she think for us to eat in Hotel when we took Togo. Definitely we will come back again when we got a chance! 🤍
The hot and sour soup is a bit different from others but quite tasty. And spicy. The orange beef is not of this world. And the portion is large. The side of fried rice is also large. The tempora shrimp is also good. The service was great. I drink tea quickly and they did not let me run out.
Just had the gluten free orange beef over gluten free shrimp fried rice and omg 🤤💕 Lots of large juicy shrimp. Orange beef sauce was 🫠. They labeled the meals GF. Great gluten free selection. Spent $45 on the two but ate a huge bowl then meal prepped 3 other medium sized meals. Eating out is hard with the autoimmune gluten allergy stuff. Will definitely be back.
Ordered over the phone, went to pick it up to save on delivery fees...the food is on point! Delicious, fresh, just down right great! We even picked up later in the evening...ready when we walked in. The dining room is closed and a little off putting, but had no effect on the quality of food. Definitely going back! Enough on 1 order for two people...plenty of leftovers!
Had a good experience visiting this place. Went there for Friday lunch and tried thief Spicy Sichuan chicken lunch special. It came with a ‘big bowl’ of egg drop soup, spring roll and sichuan chicken with fried rice. Portion was huge and very well prepared. Lunch specials are priced appropriate and the portions are huge. The waitress was so nice and offered extra fried rice as well. One of the best sichuan places in Austin area, loved it!!! Would go again
If you want good Chinese food and willing to give up little bit on ambience than this is your best Chinese siczuan fix in round rock! Kung pao plates, hot and sour soup and many others cooked in traditional sichuan style! Good food!
The food and staff were amazing. Would come again.
Loved everything we ordered here! Appreciate the safe and various GF options as someone with celiac disease. Thank you!

Everyone was so nice and the food was absolutely delicious!! My friends and I are definitely coming back. We all ordered random dishes and shared, it was so good!
This was my first visit here today and definitely won’t be my last! The restaurant was quiet, and clean. Relaxing music playing. The service was top notch! My server, Justin, was patient and attentive. And let me just tell you about how good that sesame chicken and chicken lo mein was, OMG! HUGE portions, and I will gladly eat this for the next meal and a half. Veggies were cooked perfectly and so saucy!! I’m sad I’ve slept on this place for years but it’s the best Chinese food I’ve had in so long! Y’all give this amazing place a try, you won’t be disappointed!!
The best Egg Foo Young in Austin!! I don't go anywhere else. It's so good, I hope they never take it off the menu.
It feels like good customer service barely exists anymore but the young guy who helped us last night was outstanding. He was polite, friendly, and actually seemed to care about doing a good job which is rare these days. On top of that, we didn't expect much walking in here randomly. But it was honestly some of the best Chinese food we had in a long time.
Sichuan Garden delivers bold, authentic Chinese flavors that really stand out. The dishes pack the perfect balance of spice, heat, and savoriness — especially the mapo tofu and kung pao chicken. The service is fast and courteous, and portions are generous. If you love genuine Sichuan cuisine, this spot is a must-try.
A hidden gem! The food was excellent and the service was something you don't get in today's world anymore. Attentive and friendly and caring. I will definitely go back if I am driving through :)

Excellent food, reasonable prices. Highly recommend!
Edit- the spice level on my dish was perfect. Just enough to make me sweat a little. Mongolian beef was great! The beef itself was tender and flavorful. Just a little bit spicy. Would definitely come back to try other menu items.

Fried rice was good But I ordered the spicy wings and it taste like I was eating some type of cleaning products like they didn't rise the dishes they cooked in out... I called them too tell them ..they denied me as if im making it up...they was trynna hear me at all...I probably wont go back..
Service was friendly and attentive. Mongolian beef was deliciously spicy. Wonton was lacking and had way to much sesame oil. We ordered a pupu plater which was a little disappointing. No open flame and almost all fried. And over fried at that. Wife had sweet and sour chicken and was pleased. Containers on the table needed to be cleaned they were sticky and not fresh.

We used to love this place. Quality went down. The ladies and the service was great, but the food was overcrowded and soggy.
I ordered Chicken Moo Goo Gai Pan, pork egg rolls, 32 oz. Egg Drop Soup. Egg Rolls were overcooked and burnt on the ends. The Soup was a 16 oz. and not a 32 oz. as ordered. The Chicken Moo Goo Gai Pan's was very bland, chicken tasted like can or frozen but definitely not fresh, the white sauce... was not a sauce at all but like water and not thick at all. The only flavor that stood out was the mushrooms. The red sweet & sour sauce give on the side looks more like red koolaid and as it was thin as water and nothing but red coloring added. Egg Drop Soup is very bland, little or no seasoning added. Tasted like hot water and egg. Very, very disappointed. Worst Chinese/Asian food experience than I can ever remember. I would not recommend at all.
Their prices have rocketed. I will never order egg drop soup from them again. 31.00 for two soups !!!
Ordered dinner tonight and we will NOT be returning. We ordered the dumplings that were soggy with no flavor, combination fried rice that had had absolutely no flavor, even though ordered spicy. The kung poa chicken was nasty and cold while the lo mein was limp, cold and had no taste whatsoever. I won't go into detail the soup or egg rolls as they were just as bad as the rest. The delivery was within 25 minutes and the gentleman was lovely but for the cost of dinner ($130 plus) - what a disappointment and WASTE OF MONEY!
This restaurant used to be one of my favorites. I ordered food last night and it was horrible. The fried rice was hard, the flavor was really bad, and it was salty. The orange flavored chicken tasted like it was old. I’m really disappointed. The portion size is the only positive thing I would say, but it’s only positive if the food is actually good. I ordered two other entrees for friends and they were not impressed. I really hope this was an off night. I spent over $70 and had to throw almost the entire order away. Wound up having Panda Express instead. What a shame!
The shrimp fried rice was inedible. Extremely salty. The wonton soup was just bad. Sesame chicken was old...I spent almost $70 on lunch and everything ended up in the trash. 4.1 stars overall is completely unwarranted

Waited almost 30 minutes for what tasted like day old chicken. And why are the crab rangoons sweet? Definitely won't be back. And FYI, No dine in available.
