Delicious! I had the Fried Catfish with Fried Okra and Coleslaw, after starting with the Fried Gator. Everything was excellent, and light enough where I could still function for work in the afternoon. Breading on everything Fried was light and perfect.

Ask for Jeremy! He was fantastic from start to finish — super personable and on top of everything. The crawfish boil was packed with flavor and the fried alligator was crispy and so good. Great food and even better service. 10/10 experience!

I will start by saying I do not know much about Cajun food, so I cannot speak to the authenticity but the food is delicious. I ordered off the house specialties section and was not disappointed. Will recommend and myself go back to taste something else. Also, they make their desserts in house and they were also amazing. I shared a dessert, but next time we need to each get our own so I do not have to share lol

Great Cajun food in cozy downtown Round Rock! We have gone here for years and their recipes have not changed! The fondue is a must have! All fish and the sauce tops are great! Good portions too!

I was a bit frustrated with the long wait so me and my man went next door had a few drinks then come back. The food was so delicious and worth the wait! Bree and Valorie were wonderful! Very apologetic and professional!! Whiskey Shrimp, gumbo and the fried seafood platter top tier! We gave our sons the key lime pie. It was gone is one bite! We absolutely will be back and tell our friends. Thank you for a wonderful night and great food!

Flavorful and the closest to Louisiana food we’ve tried in Texas. Love the vibe of this restaurant, very rustic, the food was amazing and the service even better. We got the fried catfish with etouffee as a main and crabcakes as starter. Found this place in the middle of nowhere on our way to Austin and I think we made the perfect choice

Excellent late lunch/early dinner. Portions are spot on. Crawfish Etouffee was very warm and thick. Fried Frog legs were pretty good, first time I eat them. Chocolate pie was perfect. There was nothing wrong with the flavors. I’ll come back for sure.

🚨Updated Review🚨 Longhorn is still a great place for Cajun comfort food! Over the years, the menu has changed from what I was accustomed to originally, but they've added some great menu items, and they kept all of my favorites. If you love good cajun food like I do, you should give them a try. It's still the best cajun food I've had outside of Louisiana. I always feel welcomed by the staff, and the food and drinks are always great. I've been meaning to write a review on this establishment for a while, but I always forget because of the food coma I wake up from after eating. I found this place in 2017, and if it's one thing that draws me in, it is consistency. The food is always amazing, and the portions are plentiful. The drinks will get you where you need to be, and the service is always stellar. I bought a party of 16 years ago and everyone was impressed. By far, one of, if not the best, cajun restaurant outside of Louisiana that I've had.

Had a delicious dinner here. Great service, friendly and helpful. Lots of menu items. Bone in rib eye steak was seasoned and cooked well. Check out their lunch and happy hour specials. Great dessert options. Salt and pepper shakers need a run through the dishwasher.

I just ate at Louisiana Longhorn Cafe for the first time and I was very pleased with the food and service. Had alligator tail bites with remoulade sauce and they were delicious. The onion straws are also delicious

Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday while visiting Round Rock. We had a party of 6, so had to wait about 15 minutes for a larger table. There's a nice sitting area right outside to kill the time. Upon sitting, waitress immediately came over to take the drink orders and answer any questions. Started off with the large Seafood Fondue and a few drinks. The drinks were ok, but the Fondue was amazing. I expected basic melted cheese with a few seafood pieces, but I was pleasantly wrong. It was very flavorful with a nice mix of spinach, mushrooms, various cheeses, with large chunks of shrimp and crawfish. It went perfectly with the bread. For the meals, there were so many tough choices so we asked the waitress for some recommendations. She said everything was good, but the favorite is the Stuffed Flounder, so ordered that smothered with the fondue sauce and a side of red beans and rice. This was a great recommendation as it was a large piece of flounder that was generously stuffed with crab and smothered with the same fondue sauce we had for an appetizer. Everyone else enjoyed their meals and all looked delicious. I'll definitely come back to try some more menu items, even though it will be tempting to get the Stuffed Flounder. Great food and service.

First time ever eating at this place. I have to say, it was delicious beyond words. I had the chicken fried chicken with red beans and rice and mac&cheese. The red beans and rice were outstanding. My wife had the jambalaya, the flavor of the sauce, EXQUISITE! We also had fried pickles, unlike any other place I've ever had. This place was worth my $30 and will continue to give them my business. If ever in the mood for Louisiana food, this is the place. Next time, I'll be having the gator :)

As someone who grew up in Louisiana, the red beans and rice, hush puppies, and fried seafood were quite good. The etouffee should be avoided and while the jambalaya was good, the sweet red sauce that accompanies it doesn't belong.

This place has an easy, welcoming vibe. There were families with children and large parties. The servers were friendly and helpful. The boudin egg rolls were tasty. The ettoufee was very light in color, but had a nice flavor and texture. The fried seafood had a breading that was a little too heavy and needed better seasoning. The gumbo looked good! They had a nice little beer selection in bottles, including some Abita beers from Louisiana, but a restaurant this size in this nice part of town really should have a few taps going.

Was in Round Rock for weekend anniversary and felt like some seafood but didn't want to go to a large chain restaurant so we blindly choose this one. Upon entering we noticed the place looked dated and had no appeal but since we chose to walk there we figured we try it anyway. The staff was very friendly and quickly took our order, we had the fried alligator and the bourbon shrimp fir appetizers. The gator was great but the burbon shrimp lacked and it was just too much bread. We also had the fried shrimp and fish tacos and we were not prepared for the amount of food we got!! Everything was tasty and very enjoyable and did not disappoint as far as the food goes. Definitely recommend trying if you are looking for decent portions and tasty food.

Sisters took me out for dinner. The service was great the food was delicious. The Boudin egg rolls are a must try! I gave a 4 for the food because the fried pickles were very salty and very thin, too thin if you ask me. However my experience here was a great time.

We visited Louisiana Longhorn cafe recently. We heard about the restaurant and wanted to get some Cajun food. The restaurant is located in downtown round rock. Drive around and you can find a space to park. The atmosphere and decor was bayou like as I have seen around Acadiana. The food was more Tex-Cajun the ragin cajun. I am used to the deep roux buttery sauces with sufficient cayenne pepper. The food was more subdued. I shared meals with my college yute. The side tossed salads were good. The fried snapper was perfect - crisp, thick and soft inside. The crawfish/shrimp sauce was mostly a creamy type sauce with few seafood parts. It was okay, but not super flavorful. The chicken creole was interesting, again, okay, but not super flavorful like Lafayette style cajun food. The fries were good too. Prices weren't bad.

The Louisiana LongHorn Cafe was pretty good. I had the crawfish basket with fries, it could have been a bit more flavorful but overall good. Tried the fried jalapeño and fried onions which were okay. The red beans and rice seemed suprisingly bland. However, the food servings are really large! The location is in the downtown area of Roundrock, TX so very quaint. The inside of the restaurant is full of quirky decor very suitable for the atmosphere. Seems great for group settings. I would revisit but would try something different off the menu

12/8/2022 We had stuffed peppers for an appetizer. They were very good. My wife had crawfish and coldslaw. She said they were very good. I had blackened catfish and shrimp with coleslaw and Mac and cheese on the side. The Mac and cheese and coldslaw were very good. The blackened fish and shrimp were over blackened if you asked me. They had a good flavor and a good texture, but way way too much seasoning. In my opinion. I had to scrape it off with my knife. It took away from the flavor of the food. Tonight was not one of the better experiences at this restaurant. It did not have the same atmosphere as the 1st few times we had been there. 😃8/15/2022 We had dinner tonight. My wife had blackened Snaper, and I had a Muffaletta sandwich with fries. Both were very good. Sever Valerie was pleasant and professional. The restaurant was very clean Good overall experience. 👍👍Update Dec. 10th Our server Jordon was courteous. As folks left, the staff cleaned up the tables before the next customer came in. We had fried mushrooms for an appetizer. They were firm in the center with a nice fried coating. Very good. Not mushy. My wife had a blackened snapper. She said it was very good. I had fried shrimp. They were very good. Good atmosphere. You can have a good conversation without music blasting in the background. Overall, we enjoyed our meal very much. 🤠 Our server was very professional. My wife had the seafood platter, and I had the combination platter. The food was great. Tasted like home cooked. The breading on the seafood was very good. I recommend this establishment.

The restaurant was great for my wife and I, not that many people. We were hoping the appetizer came out a little sooner than the dinner but we loved the gator bites. My wife got the cat fish platter I give that a 5/5 and I’m not a huge fan of cat fish, the Mac and cheese was so so. I got the home cooked combo I give it a 3.5/5 mainly because of the jambalaya, I loved the okra though. I wasnt a huge fan of the red beans and rice. But the service was great!

Louisiana Longhorn Cafe in downtown Round Rock has been one I’ve passed for years but haven’t visited. The staff were very friendly and it’s in a great spot. The food unfortunately wasn’t anything special. The sauce on the jambalaya was a sweeter red pasta sauce that I wasn’t a fan of. The flavors were honestly kind of bland. The gumbo didn’t impress me either. I’ve had some great Cajun food but sadly not here.

Ordered a "muffaletta" and my guest got a shrimp poboy, both with fries. Started with fried mushrooms. Service was slow, restaurant was nearly empty but it took 10 minutes at the table to get our drinks ordered and 3 more to get them to us. Props where they are due, the fried mushrooms are delicious. The Muffaletta was a poor imitation of what a real one should be. The olive relish lacked flavor and depth (there was like a thin spread on the sandwich), and there wasn't enough cheese. The Shrimp Po'boy was ok but the menu says it comes with mayo (po'boys should have remoulade and real Louisiana foodies would know that). Guest asked to sub tartar sauce on the side for mayo, and we are glad she did...their tartar sauce is awful. It's sweet and flavorless. She requested mayo and we set the tartar sauce to the side. The fries are what I'd call shoestring-plus. Well cooked but cooled off enough to be kinda soggy. An overall disappointing meal. We took the leftovers home and made our own remoulade, air-fried the rest of the mushrooms and fries, and added olive salad (it's not that hard) and extra cheese to the muffaletta to make it decent. All-in-all, not a place I'd go back to. If you read the menu, the original owners (native Louisianans) sold in 2021, the new owners run another local eatery and their daughter runs Louisiana Longhorn. It shows, especially in the food.

Went here for the first time in about 15 years. The shrimp gumbo was good, not great. The alligator was good, not great. The fries that came with our son's chicken tenders were soft and limp, and looked like they were fried in old grease. I had the salmon, it was cooked well, not didn't have a lot of seasoning, which is bad considering it is served on a bed of plain jasmine rice. My husband ordered the chicken and sausage jambalaya, which is supposed to be a spicy dish. It wasn't spicy and came in a bowl with a large ladle of some sort of sweet tomato sauce around it. The flavors just did not mesh well. Our waitress wasn't very attentive. We used to consider this place a bit of an upscale spot for a date night meal, but now that ownership changed since we last went, it was a huge let down. Probably will not be back.

Terrible service from start to finish. We waited 10 minutes just to be seated with no one else waiting and no one at the hostess stand. After sitting down, it took another 15 minutes before anyone even brought water or took a drink/food order. Drinks finally arrived 15 minutes after that — a full 30 minutes after we sat down. The restaurant wasn’t that busy. At one point I had to go to the bar myself to refill our water glasses. Two people at a nearby table actually left without paying because no one ever came back to them. After 50 minutes total, we gave up and left as well. Completely unacceptable service. Won’t be returning.
