Opinions de Paleo’s Pizza Cafe Royse City
★★★★★ Palio’s Pizza in Royse City is consistently fantastic! The food is always great, we especially love the Sedona salad, the BBQ chicken pizza, and their delicious cheese bread! The owners are genuinely wonderful people who greet us with a warm smile every time. We’ve shared both positive comments and constructive feedback over the years, and they always receive it graciously. We eat here often as a family, bring larger groups from our church, and have even attended a wedding rehearsal dinner for a big crowd and they handled everything with excellent service and top-quality food. Highly recommend stopping by Palio’s for a great meal and a welcoming experience. There’s a reason we consistently keep going back!
The pizza is always fresh and the owners are AMAZING! We went in there twice last week, got different pizzas both times, and they were phenomenal! If you want great food and awesome service, this is place to go, customers for life.
Phenomenal Pizza!! I love the gluten free crust the provide and the sedona salad! Nice friendly people and ran by a loving family that really cares about the quality of their food and their customers!!
Nice, cozy restaurant with excellent pizza and pasta. This is our 3rd time here and are eager to try more menu items. The only disappointment was their promotions on their menu were not valid when we visited. “For a limited time only” but doesn’t say when it expires. I suggested they remove it so there is no confusion for others.
What a spectacular experience from start to finish!! This family owned with pride restaraunt ticks all the boxes; incredibly delicious food at a great price, wonderfully welcoming customer service, super clean dining room and bathrooms, just everything you want in a dining experience. Absolutely will be regulars here!!
We believe we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and wow—he truly set the tone for our very first visit. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed, and his love for Jesus was evident right away. The food was absolutely over the top. I was craving a buffalo chicken pizza, and theirs did not disappoint—it hit perfectly. My son completely demolished his medium pepperoni pizza, which says everything you need to know. This place is an absolute must-visit: incredible food and even more incredible people.
I’ve been all over the country and tried many types of pizza. This specific Palio’s pizza restaurant is, hands down, some of the best pizza in DFW — and I do mean THE BEST. They don’t just make one type of pizza well; they make them all well. The thin, wood-fired crust is good. The thick crust is good. The marinara bases are good, the white sauce bases are good, and the BBQ sauce bases are exceptional. If you come here once, you’ll keep coming back, because the pizza is absolutely god tier.
From the moment we walked into Palio’s Pizza Café in Royse City, we were greeted with a warm, friendly smile and a genuinely welcoming attitude — something that immediately set the tone for a great experience. The interior has a nice, cozy vibe with tasteful décor that feels both casual and inviting. For those who enjoy dining al fresco, the outdoor seating area is a lovely touch — comfortable and perfect for a relaxed meal. We started with the House Salad for two, and it did not disappoint. Made with fresh, crisp ingredients — lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and olives — topped with crunchy croutons and served with ranch dressing, it was refreshing and delicious. For our main dish, we ordered the Mediterranean Pizza, and it was absolutely fantastic. Freshly made, perfectly baked, and loaded with flavor — truly one of the best pizzas we’ve had in a long time. The highlight of the evening, however, was the exceptional service. The manager, Kamar, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made our visit even more memorable. Overall, Palio’s Pizza Café in Royse City offers great food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Ever see Cafes in video games and notice how cozy they are? That's this place. I used to pass the place on my way to and from work at another food joint nearby, and was always curious on their food. My curiosity was killed, and it was filleted and placed on a silver platter. This place is worth it's salt. Great, cozy atmosphere, and at the time I went it had a near empty lobby, but that's okay. Doesn't need to bus to have good food. Service is tight. I am a first time guest at the time of writing this, but I'll be back to understand more at some point. A+.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great first-time experience at Palio’s Pizza in Royse City! Located in the Walmart parking lot across from Murphy’s gas station, this spot is clean, cool (AC was on!), and had delicious, fresh, gourmet food—we enjoyed everything we ordered. A couple of helpful notes for first-timers: • The front entrance can be confusing. Like others, we went to the left door by mistake—the right has a short wall and the door looks like part of the nail salon. A standalone “Welcome” sign with arrow could help new customers find the right entrance more easily. • The bathrooms were clean, but the women’s restroom door didn’t lock—not a huge issue but something to consider fixing, especially for parents with kids. This location is more of a “order at the counter, then sit or take it to go” setup, so it’s helpful to know what you want before walking in to avoid slowing down the line. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be back—next time we’ll come in a little more “pro” about it. 😉
This was the most amazing pizza I’ve ever had! The crust is divine! We got a half bbq chicken and half pepperoni/sausage. Ordered cinnamon rolls for dessert. These rolls are my new favorite!!! Will and his family are so kind and friendly! I highly recommend this to anyone traveling between Dallas and Texarkana! It’s our new go to stop!
This place is a hidden gem! Everything I’ve ever had from there is soo good! The calzone has a buttery crust, the Greek bread is absolutely amazing and the baked ziti with Alfredo sauce is probably the only way I’ll ever eat baked ziti again! You won’t be disappointed for a lunch or dinner at Palio’s.
First time visit. We both had the lunch special. Pizza/caesar salad and calzone/Hawaiian salad. Both were excellent. Hawaiian salad was delicious, lots of toppings and a raspberry vinegarette dressing. Pizza had a nice thin crust and no sauce, just the toppings ordered. Very tasty. The calzone is very good! We will be back to try the regular pizza.
This place was open when everyone else was closed during ice days. I am so astonished on how friendly the owner and staff is. The food is amazing! We ordered the manicotti and Ralphies Specialty Pizza. For those that love alphredo pizza, this is your kind of pizza. They are not greedy on the meet! Big chunks of chicken, lots of bacon, ham, cheese and Alfredo sauce. Will come again! Highly recommend this place.
Tried Palio’s for the first time. Very good choice. Friendly staff and the food was very good. We ordered 1 dinner salad to split, fresh vegetables and so yummy. Ordered a small cheese bread with 2 sides of marinara and ranch. It was soooooo good. For our pizza we ordered an X-Large meat. Crust was just our style and the toppings were very well distributed on the pizza. If you’re a sauce person I would recommend asking for extra sauce on the pizza itself or on the side. But that seems to be the common lately in which most pizza places add minimal sauce. Either way the pizza was still great and we really enjoyed our first meal here. We will be back. Wish I had taken a picture of the salad, lol.
The food was okay. I would go again. The only issue I had was that my food was just sitting there. I think the cashier who rung me up went on break and when she came back and realized I still didn’t have my food is when I saw her get my sitting order together and hand it to me. There were other workers there too. So idk what happened there…… Besides that the food is good. I will be back and hopefully they don’t forget my food this time…..
This evening I ordered a Molly’s pizza and Caesar salad for pickup. When I called the young man answered the phone like he didn’t want to be there. Took my order and asked for my name. I spelled it 3 times, Gail and gave him my number. So 18 minutes later I picked it up and drove home. I live 18 minutes from Royse City. Got home opened the pizza box, it looked and tasted great. Got to the Caesar salad. The container was just over half full and no Parmesan cheese. So I called and talked to the manager. No apologies just I’ll take that into consideration. We’ve eaten there for the last 6 years. I understand food is expensive and good help hard to find. I don’t mind paying the price but not with this attitude. They just lost a customer.
While travelling I stopped in Royse City, Texas and came across Palio's Pizza Café. Went with a house salad and a small pizza which is good for a single meal. Ordered a mushroom, red onion, and pepperoni pizza and it was delivered piping hot to my table. While the pizza overall was good, I was not impressed with the crust or the flavors overall. For me the crust did not taste fresh and the sauce was bland. I’m not a local and I am sure this spot is a local favorite, but in comparison to other pizza shops I have enjoyed this one was just “OK”.
I’m pretty disappointed in this pizza. We are new to this city and wanted to try ordering pizza that’s less of a chain type feel. But this pizza was literally “nothing special”. We ordered take out, arrived a couple minutes early (extra star for having it ready on time), and still picked up lukewarm pizza. We live 2 miles away and when we got home less than 5 minutes later, our pizza was cold. Warmed it up and ate some, only to realize that this just tastes a lot like a thin papa johns pizza. I don’t like that the ingredients seemed scarce around the outer edges. Some of the meat on the bbq pizza was hard and I had to take it out of my mouth. My Alfredo pizza had so little Alfredo sauce that I could barely taste it, much less see it when I lifted the cheese. For the price I expected more. Way more. I definitely didn’t expect mediocre pizza. I could have paid half the price and gotten the same quality elsewhere. I’m disappointed and won’t be back.
I ordered 3 pizzas and soup from Palio’s. The pizza was cut so crappy I had to recut everything myself and then the soup wasn’t delivered. I didn’t know if the driver forgot the soup or not so I re ordered the soup, my order was cancelled 3 minutes before closing after the order had been in for over 20 minutes the second time and over an hour and half the first time. I called the restaurant and was greeted, “hello” not a “This is Palio’s” or “Thanks for calling Palio’s”. I told them my order was cancelled and they said “Ya we don’t have that, that’s DoorDash’s fault. You provide the menu to DoorDash and if you are out of stock soup then you have the option to remove it. No apology, nothing.
Been going here for years has always been great food great prices, but lately noticed a price spike on subs and the last few times I’ve went either. I’ve gotten the wrong sub given to me from order pick up and or while dining in the food wasn’t exactly how I asked for it. This last time which was yesterday afternoon I picked up my sub plus sides and the sub felt room temperature. They didn’t really have too much meat on there like they normally would give me and the bread was very tough and hard to chew. I had to throw it away and just eat my sides. I’m very disappointed because this used to be my favorite place, but it feels like the atmosphere and the quality is changing.ad it’s disappointing because now I have to find another place to start going too that’s family owned
Last week, we waited an hour and a half for a pizza delivery which we had to cancel. We ended up going in to eat instead. We reordered at 8:00PM and waited almost another 40 minutes to eat. Two days ago we ordered pasta. It arrived with no sauce! I am 41 years old, this marks the first time I have had to make my own sauce for a restaurant order. Luckily I have been a cook for many years, so I whipped up an alfredo sauce in order to save my dish. What exactly am I paying y'all for??? *Edit* Did the owner really just reprimand me for a poor experience? September 15th - 2x Pasta Arrabiata, 1x Tomato Bisque, 2x Chicken Alfredo, 1x large cheese bread @ 4:46pm. Aug 28th 1x Lazy Texan, 1x the King, 1x Lasagna, 1x Lemon Cake @ 7:00pm CANCELLED. Check the books and call me a liar again! Learn to take criticism and don’t attack your customers!
I was in Royse City visiting my daughter and grandkids. We ordered delivery. I ordered two pizzas, garlic cheese bread and a chocolate chip cookie. It arrived exactly at the time they said it would. That is where the positive review ends. The pizza was cold, one of them looked like it had been run a few laps in a race car and the dessert was burnt! As much as I paid I expected a lot more
