I love this place! I always get their chicken breast sandwich with ketchup. The employees here are very nice except when you order takeout. But overall, the food is great! Their onion rings are to die for! I love so many things on the menu but the top five are onion rings, their salads, (I love their ranch) their hot beef sandwich, beef barley soup, and their fried mushrooms! I eat here around once in every two weeks with family and they are very helpful if you have kids.

Went there Tuesday afternoon had the burger with egg on it it was phenomenal the waitress was top notch as well very friendly and attentive also good price food will be back for sure next time in area

Great food and incredibly efficient waitstaff! We got a fried chicken sandwich, Philly cheesecake and an order of biscuits and gravy and had no complaints! Especially with the biscuits and gravy! Highly recommend if passing by!

Was out exploring and came upon this restaurant. The place is really great and cute. Top shelves are lined with all kinds of school lunch boxes and the working man's lunchbox, hence the name the Lunchbox. Waitress was very nice and pleasant, the food was well priced and homemade. I had a Ruben sandwich and it's was fabulous. Homemade french fries, and a cup of coffee that was a huge cup. Already my kind of place. If you're ever out that way stop in. The food was really worth the trip.

The restaurant was fairly new and the interior walls and tables beautifully done. The menu had a wide variety of food and the food was great. The staff was very friendly and the service was fast. It was my first time there and I was very impressed, and I will certainly go back again.

We drove 30 + miles just to eat here. Bacon Cheeseburger I got was very good. Homemade bun made it so much better then what you usually get (not made at restaurant, but apparently the Amish). My wife got a chicken salad and was also satisfied. We'll come back again for sure.

You won't find many places this good in a small town this far north, especially on this eastern half of the state. My wife and I have been here a few times now and can't come up with anything they could improve upon. Their cod is fantastic, the burgers are delicious and bun looks and taste homemade, and the turkey dinner with fresh stuffing and real mashed potatoes - wow. I wish I could take this lunchbox back to Royal Oak. We have many upscale restaurants, but few and far between are any really great family-friendly restaurants with excellent simple dishes and a staff that cares. Did I mention that this place is ultra clean and bright too- it is!

First of all when you walk in the dining area is all natural wood-different varieties hickory cabinets lunchboxes on a shelf from Hello Kitty to aluminum to the Detroit Red Wings E.T. just very cool now on to the service and food as soon as you sit down the server comes over with menus and drink order and let's you know what the special is. The options are full service breakfast to a full dinner with REAL mashed potatoes and gravy also soup and sandwiches The portions are substantial and come out hot, cooked properly and very tasty. So you all should try it but the bad part about the Lunchbox is they are only open until 3pm . But it is worth it

My husband had the Reuben sandwich and loved it! There wasn't fat in the meat and a lot of it. I had the hot beef and it was the best I've had in a long time! The meat was thick and broke apart easily with a fork! Real roast beef! Very tasty!

Amazing food and great service. You get a lot of food for nine dollars. The chocolate mint pie was amazing and my husband loved the black cherry cobbler. Would highly recommend this place and looking forward to going back and having another meal there

Swung in here on a Sunday while visiting a friend in Curran. Place was super busy but our waitress got us a table cleaned up and seated right off the bat. Food was great and what you would expect from a diner. Waitress was awesome and kept the coffee refilled even as busy as she was. Good breakfast and good service. I would definitely swing in again next time I am out that way.

We were on our way home from days of exploring the UP and happened on this gem for breakfast. It was by far the best breakfast of the entire trip! Steak and egg special for $9.99 was excellent, as was the Splinter Omelet. Way, way too much food, but all of it was well prepared and tasty. Great coffee in a huge mug. This place was spotless, and I mean spotless. Service was friendly. Great food, great value, next time we are through this neck of the woods we will definitely stop back in.

Excellent Diner and made from scratch food. Everything on the menu is great. The corned beef hash is freshly made and delicious. The jelly for your toast is homemade. You can't beat breakfast from the Lunchbox. Know that it's a breakfast and lunch place, so check the open time if you are a late eater.

Weekend motorcycle ride brought us down 65, looking for a good breakfast stop and was sent to the Lunchbox. Very welcome and warm feeling. Our lady at the table was very accommodating, and our breakfast... Farmers Omelet was extremely filling! What a rider needs on a 3 hr trip home. Have it marked and will be back to visit.

Great Experience! Enjoyed a great meal on Mothers Day. The prime rib and fish were wonderful and cooked perfectly! The mushroom soup was excellent. The desserts, blueberry pie and strawberry shortcake, were amazing! When I didn't think I could eat anymore, I couldn't resist those desserts. Can't wait to go back again.

This is a great restaurant out in the middle of no where. The burgers are real. Not frozen. Staff is super friendly and the manager came and sat next to our table to have a conversation. My kids looked around at the lunchboxes around the ceiling and conversated about the boxes when we waited. We will be back

There are a few items I will order in a new restaurant to test their capabilities. One is a Philly Cheese Steak. The Lunchbox knows what they are doing. Tasted even better on reheat as leftovers this evening. I highly recommend making the stop if you're in the area. I did have to take a star off for the pie though. I got the peach & it was peaches between crust. The crust was amazing; buttery & flaky just as it should be. However, the peaches were bitter like nothing was added except peaches between crust. You really have to add some sugar as fruit loses sweetness in baking.

Ive been there a couple times with my dad and it was good. But he said him and my mom stopped not long ago in and were completely ignored and were never even looked at or acknowledged every time the waitress passed by. They waited a while and left. My parents are pretty patient people so thats saying alot. Im assuming they were short staffed and overcrowded that night. I'll go back but i know my parents aren't ones for second chances when it comes to inconsiderate service.

Went in a bit after lunch. Coffee was very distasteful. It was probably sitting on the warmer from the lunch rush. Fried chicken was very dry and greasy. Other than that the place was a cool stop. Loved the vintage lunchboxes.

If they could keep the screaming down In the kitchen the food was pretty good. seems like the chef didn't get along with the sous chef a little bad language in the kitchen. But as a chef myself it's hard getting the food out if the kitchen staff ain't reading of the same page. I've lost my temper more than once. Pretty cool little place and the food's pretty decent for a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.

For the most part the food wasn't bad but having 14 people to feed I feel they are not used to so many at one time. Plus the rest of the restaurant was full as well. For the most part it was good.

Everything was awesome. Great place, and we will be back. Surprisingly, one of the most amazing things was the jelly that comes with the toast. Its amazing The only thing I can complain about was that I ordered a Swiss and corned beef omelet, and it the cook added Colby jack shredded cheese to the top of it for some reason. Just kinda ruined the flavor.

Breakfast was delish. I had the country fried steak, it was very good. My daughter had pancakes because they were out of waffles. Disappointed about that, she was looking forward to those, but....it happens. All in all, a good place.

This was our first visit. We have driven past many times and finally stopped in for lunch. They were at 90% capacity. The lone waitress was doing an incredible job! The place was very clean. The menu has a good variety of items. We will be back.

I don't like spicy 🔥 food and have never had hot 🔥 sausage milk gravy. Was really disappointed. My son ordered a big breakfast and he loved it, eggs, bacon, hash browns and I think grits. First, I have to say the service was horrible. We waited & waited & watched as other people came in after us were waited on & served before we even got drinks. Maybe our waitress was having an off day but we had to remind her of simple things like coffee & water & silverware. There were four of us that dined there. One friend really liked his meal. He goes there often & always gets the same thing & always likes it (Hot Roast Beef Sandwich) & it looked delicious. I ordered the French Dip & it was just "ok". Another friend got the Coney Dogs & they were horrible. They were old & should never have been severed. Another person got the signature Burger & said it was "good". I would probably give this place another chance but only if there wasn't a better choice close by.

Loved this restaurant, close to our cabin, went often. Today we took our daughter and 2 young grandsons. Waited forever for waitress to take our order, then waited an hour for our food to find out she never placed it with the kitchen. Several tables served food before us and came in way after us. Waitress had to realize this, yet ignored us. Dont know this waitress's name, but it wasnt one we were used to. It was very hard keeping a 6 month old and 3 year old entertained waiting for the food to come. Very disappointing. Probably wont go back. Not good waitressing.

My family and I got to the restaurant 45 mins till closing were from down state and wanted to try this place. We walking in and the lady put us at first at a small table that sits 6 possibly. We had 4 adults 4 kids and a baby. So she finally pushed two tables together and she was pad because she just cleaned up and cleaned floor. Another couple came in and was going to sit and eat and the worker snapped at them and said u need to sit at front table I just cleaned floor and hurry and order we have 30 minutes and we are closed. So my family as well as others were being rushed. We went to order and we wanted coffee. She said we only have this pointed to a almost empty pot and she said she won't make no more. So we skipped coffee. We started ordering... my mother asked for a half order of buiscuts n gravy and the lady said it would be enough to feed 2 pple so she said ok and she received 1 buiscut and a puddle of water/gravy my son and i wanted nachos and cheese she said they had none so we had to find something else Soni asked if their chili had beans in it for coney dogs she said yes so we had to choose again we ended up getting a salad u had the chicken salad and for the price I got like 2 peppers cucumber and a small handful of lettuce the tomatoes were sour and brown. Also my chicken was not fully cooked but I was afraid to say anything because she was rushing us and the other couple at the other table. So I didn't eat my chicken so I had a basic side salad maybe smaller. My husband asked for over medium eggs and received burnt scrambled eggs my boys asked for chocolate milk and they got chocolate syrup on bottom of white milk not mixed 😐 the lady continued to rush us and told the other party she needed out of there right at 3 because she had a date with her boyfriend it was their anniversary.... for one I work at a resturaunt if we have ppl that come in like this we treat them with respect and let them take their time we dont rush people. Or make their food any different and telling people to hurry up because you have a perrsonal date!!!! For us paying as much as we did almost 100 plus a tip it was not worth it we were rushed, told what to do and basically order since the resturaunt was out of alot of stuff and pressed to sit close back to back with another couple (no space) the one cook or what ever he was had an attitude and dirty looks in the back as well. My parents who have gone here many times and loved it and for my family to try something new we will not be coming back to this place! The worker ws byfar un professional and it was a super uncomfortable setting

Decided to go for a ride out on the bikes tonight, normally very happy with our food & service but tonight was a different story. The service was very slow need I say there was us & one other table, I ordered a Oriental salad when it finally came to the table it wasn't even the correct salad so I sent it back to then which we had to sit there & listen to the cook be mad & rude & throw dishes & what not in the kitchen, never had an experience like that before it was almost to the point of us walking out. When my correct salad finally came back to the table everyone else had finished eating there dinner so I just asked for a box to take it home. We normally have very good food & service, we probably won't be returning which is sad because it's a beautiful ride & normally a great experience.

My family and I were so excited to visit this cute, little and family owned restaurant. Unfortunately- we were disappointed in the food. My cod was very over cooked, my son's friend chicken was absolutely disgusting and their homeade fries-- NO flavor and way undercooked! The only reason I am giving a one star is because the waitress was kind and knowledgeable of the menu. The last thing I feel is important to share is I was able to provide feedback to the owner (female). She took in what I shared, however never even apologized! That is truly disheartening.
