Plan your Mother’s Day pick up early. The staffs already expects the big line & crowd Sat & Sunday, Mother’s Day. Weekdays, open til 5 pm. On Sat, the store closes at 3 pm. Be there before 2:45 pm. This is the best place to get Chinese Chicken Salad on hot summer days. During summer months, they sell 800+ Chinese chicken salad. Personally, Comforts Chinese Chicken Salad will be my deathbed meal as I crave for every few weeks especially on too hot to cook summer days. The big box (looks like Chinese take out box) of CCS will feed 2 adults for dinner. They have marinated tofu (replace chicken) for Vegetarian salad. We often get Tofu Chinese salad for friends practicing Halal or Vegetarian. If anybody is allergic to sesame seeds or almond, you could ask one the staff to make those ingredients separately packaged for you, then they will make a new box of salad without those ingredients but on the side (in a ziplock bag) to take home. The restaurant has 2 different areas. One area is deli/take-out counter service area with some round tables and to the left of the entrance there’s a sit-down waiter-service restaurant with a patio sitting.

It's hard to drive through San Anselmo without stopping at Comforts Restaurant, so when I had to head out to the Gravel Ridge Quarry to drop off a whole slug of blasting caps to the Rounder boys, I stopped in for a quick bite. Man-O-Man those country style potatoes with the sausage sure hit a homer! They were better than any I've ever had. ☆☆☆☆☆

I come here for their famous Chinese Chicken Salad but their baked goods are also bomb! Everytime I try something else it is of high quality and delicious. I do to-go...the seating situation is not always great and it does get crowded inside since it's a small place.

The food here is absolutely phenomenal! I got the stir fry and the noodles were great, chicken was yummy and shrimp was perfect. Great meal!

Comforts is a Marin classic. Every Marinite knows about this place and their amazing Chinese chicken salad and chicken okasan. Definitely in our top ten for many years, and always a feature of family gatherings. So good.

I tried treats from every joint on this street and Comforts was my favorite by far! Great service, nice clean open environment. Delicious pastries! I tried blueberry muffin, a cookie, and apple blueberry pudding bread. So good!

We purchased our first not home cooked Christmas dinner this year from Comforts. A hard move to make, but we were absolutely thrilled with the food!! Everyone loved it, even the little ones! The stuffed Cornish game hens were tender & incredibly flavorful!! The glaze was yummy & added so much!! The rice stuffing was amazing… the cranberries adding a delightful holiday flavor! The garlic mashed potatoes were a hit… ate them all! The Mac & cheese (a kid favorite of course) was enjoyed by all, the roasted Parmesan Brussels sprouts were so yummy, and the roasted green beans were devine! An amazing dinner! Thank you Comforts for providing this meal for us!! See you next year!!

More of a take out place than a sit down restaurant, but ok for eating in as well, with a superb healthy California oriented menu with quality ingredients, run by the same family for 30 plus years. Famous Asian chicken salad, much more.

That is bizarre and was super annoying but it is truly addictive and my boyfriend couldn’t stop talking about it. I wouldn’t change a thing except the staff was rude and the salad should be mixed without an up charge!

That is bizarre and was super annoying but it is truly addictive and my boyfriend couldn’t stop talking about it. I am very bummed out and upset that I'm having to write this review right now. On Saturday I was craving comfort's chicken Okasan and I went to go purchase a $20 box of it. Unfortunately, there was fly larva on one of the nuggets that I was about to eat. I have never in my life experienced something like this. I honestly feel disgusted that I already ate chicken that has been contaminated by this larva. Please do better comforts. This is a very unpleasant experience for me not to mention an inconvenience. It will honestly take a lot for me to come back. I am honestly so upset right now. This was my favorite restaurant in Marin.
