Be careful! I ordered 3 different seafood tacos. Grilled fish taco, Baja fish taco and Baja shrimp taco. Each one was fantastic! Fresh ingredients, nice sauce, perfectly cooked! Be careful, you may have the urge to come here every day!

Great little place. Very eclectic menu. Not your average Tex-Mex. Everything was really great. The young lady the counter was exceptionally friendly. You just walk in you place your order and then you just sit down and wait for your food. We noticed a lot of pick up to-go orders. This friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal and said we would be back

Why?! Why did it take me so long to try this place?! I’ve lived around the corner from here and have driven by countless times swaying “hmm, I want to try that place”. FINALLY, we decided to stop by one evening, and OMG, I didn’t know what we’ve been missing out on! It’s comfortable inside, not big but not tiny either. It’s very beach themed, so there’s a very island vibe to it. You walk up and order your food and then they bring it to your table. I got the surf and turf burrito and it was fat with big pieces of shrimp and steak in it. The flavors were awesome 🤤 they don’t skimp on ingredients and everything worked well together. We also got the asada nachos which was a huge serving and also hit all the right flavor points. My son got chicken nuggets with chips and a churro, and my wife got fish tacos. Oh yeah! I also got the elotes, and let me tell you… yes. Just yes. I’ve been getting it from some other restaurants lately and have been disappointed, but this was perfect. Everything was fresh, delicious, and generously portioned. They had a really nice salsa bar also. Overall, I didnt have high or low expectations, but it certainly exceeded anything I thought. Go here. When you have time, whether it’s lunch, dinner, you need to pay this place a visit. Fresh ingredients and food, nice staff, just a fantastic experience. I heard another lady giving the owner or manager compliments about the food also. Try it when you get a chance!

For real Baja flavors, you have to come here! Definitely one of the best restaurants in San Antonio! I do recommend the surf and turf tacos for sure. And yes, the portion sizes are much bigger than I expected though. Check out the video.

Ever since I left Cali, I've always missed this kind of food. If you want the true taste of the Baja California peninsula in Mexico, this is the place, with the best fish tacos. You should also try the salmon tacos; they're delicious. And don't forget to try one of my favorite chipotle salsas. So if you live near San Antonio, TX, stop searching and come to this place to enjoy this tasty food.

The employees here have good vibes which makes the atmosphere feel cozy, and they are friendly. The food is delicious and authentic. The salsa bar station has a variety of almost anything with chile 🥵 sabroso.😋 Thenbkack beans with the lime rice was OMG 😳 rico, hot corn tortillas tacos with chicken and fresh vegetables with pico de gallo and guacamole 🥑.

The original Pollo bowl combo with the chips is my go to I will sometimes get the Al carbon tacos or something like that but mostly this bowl I add some extra pico that lovely green salsa and some jalapenos 🤤🤤🤤soooo good the chips are also really tasty sometimes I get my combo shoot right next door to TC and get the queso bowl and I'm all set for the meal. I'm always in and out here and rarely have an issue outside of the occasional misunderstanding due to accents in the drive thru.

Was craving the chicken carbone tacos and have bought them many a time before Covid hit Loved them! sooo been a good min since bought them cuz they doubled in price last i went to buy em and I gotta buy alot to feed my fam, So I Went thru drive thru and 2 of the order takers couldnt understand English!? Im sooo serious had to go to window to find out price of 1 carbone taco BUT she still didnt understand the simple ? I was asking in ENGLISH whats that about Pollo Loco!? so aggravating smh but NO lie she couldnt answer me in English 🤷‍♀️🤯 so she asked sumone else what I was saying and wrote on paper her answer🤣🤣🤣 u cant make this up man and 1 taco was 3.09! I said WOW cuz these are little like street tacos that used to be 1.00 each, so she then said But I could get 3 for 4.00!?🤔🤣 I immediately ordered 12 and got my 12 tacos for 12.99 the FAIR pre covid price hahaha Im not mad and sho enjoyed those Cheap Tacos even more🤣😋 Thanks El Pollo Loco for hiring a non English speaking person in our English speaking country WORKS FOR ME and Im sure every other customer ur employees couldnt communicate with and gave us our food and the price it should BE, Ill be back🤗

Can’t express enough how kind the staff at this Pollo Loco is. Despite some customers being very rude, including one woman who was yelling because they ran out of certain items, the team remained composed. It's important to recognize that they're doing their best under challenging circumstances. If you're feeling frustrated, perhaps consider making a sandwich at home instead of yelling at those working hard to serve you. Great job, everyone! I’ll start by saying I’ve reviewed almost 200 places and this man here has blown me away with his customer service. Clarence went above and beyond to help every customer that walked in there. He even greeted his Spanish speakers in their language to help them feel welcomed. Truly the best service. Food was good. Place gets packed fast. They could use more people like Clarence to staff the place. Waits a little long. But I will definitely come back due to truly exceptional service.

Total waste of time. My husband and I went to El Pollo Loco in LA when we were there and loved it, so when I booked a trip to San Antonio and found out they many locations, I put coming here on my itinerary.....big mistake. My daughter and I ordered a large side of Mac and cheese to split. It was delicious in LA, but not at all here. The noodles were so overcooked, they had no texture whatsoever. They had to have been booked for 30 minutes or longer. I ordered the chicken burrito with guac. There was literally less than a TEAspoon of guac on the burrito, which was a shame. The burrito really needed the acidity to balance the other heavy flavors out. All I could taste was the reddish colored sauce, and it wasn't that good. My daughter ordered the chicken burrito with queso on it. She hated it. She said the chicken had 0 flavor and there were far too many beans on the burrito. She said the beans were all she could taste The shining star of our visit was the diet coke from the soda machine and the chips. Won't be back.

Manager vocally said our order is not a priority and had us wait outside for 20 minutes for a 6 piece. Reality it took 50+ minutes to NOT get our order with the employees acting confused themselves. To be honest I'm not sure what has happened within the past months but the people working at this restaurant at very unprofessional. We asked for a refund and went elsewhere. Bad experience.

Got here at 7:15 ordered in the drive thru didn’t leave until 8pm. Was told that our 8 piece leg and thigh would take 10-15 min as we placed the order. Waited 5-10 min in the drive thru line then told us at the window we had to wait 10-15 min again. We live in Austin, but went to San Antonio Zoo on Saturday last month. After the zoo my wife, my baby girl and I were starving, so we went to this location, I paid for the 12 pieces combo and sat down waiting for our meal to be ready. Minutes went by until we saw a couple clients went to the counter asking for they’re meals. Almost an hour had gone by already. It turned out chickens were still cooking, but at the moment of paying no one told us it would take a while or asked us if we were willing to wait that long. I ended up cancelling the order and we went to eat somewhere else. The staff were really nice all the time, it’s just the lack of clear communication what upset everyone there that day

They got very upset when we said yes to them asking if we wanted our change back, once they gave us our change they took off their headsets walked to the back and never came back. Took 10 minutes for a hispanic male with glasses to come ask for a receipt while the women continued looking and laughing from the back. They all need to be seperated to other locations or fired .. I wouldn't have gotten a receipt if they kept my change and the guy was there the whole time so ultimately didnt have to show the receipt for the food, since we were the only car waiting.. They really trying to steal from consumers. All three standing there not wanting to work. No words said, but actions always speak louder.

Horrible tortilla-wrapped slop: I ordered a chicken guacamole burrito. I was confused because what they handed me was flacid—like a stretched out water balloon. The first third of the "burrito" was just a tough-to-chew tortilla. When I got to the filling, it was like brownish-grey vomit. I opened it up to see if it there was actual food inside, not just slop. It was real, solid food, but no chicken—not even one piece! You can see in the photo where I poked around looking for chicken. I can't even eat it; my stomach is already burning from the few bites of mush I took. I want my money back. Also, the girl at the window looked and acted miserable—she knew she was selling me slop. Eat anywhere else! Save your money! Zero stars. Stay away!

Do NOT eat here! I love El Pollo, and this was hands down the worst. 8pm, and they were out of chicken for the next hour. Starving, so I decide on sides. Beans were burnt, rice okay, emptiest bag of chips ever, and the queso blanco was so burnt it was orange and gritty. Worst 15 I've ever spent and I got home and had to throw it all away because it was inedible..I'm so angry 😠 😡

This restaurant doesn't live up the brand at all. Please avoid this location. It is the San Pedro location in San Antonio TX. I try to be fair for my reviews so here is why I scored this location 1⭐️ star. Waited 25 minutes lost 1 ⭐️. Price was too high for the poor quality we received. Lost another ⭐️. The rice was old and not fresh, way to stale. Was probably made the day prior. Lost another ⭐️. Product had no taste and doesn't follow the parent company requirements for correct spices and procedures to prepare it and cook it. I would really avoid this location. I wouldn't wrote off the entire brand because the California locations have excellent chicken and this the only SA location we tried. See for yourself how awful this entire product was. The only reason they got 1 ⭐️ was for the beans. If we are being honest there is NO reason to visit this location until Corp comes to the store and resolves the issues. I would honestly rather give Taco Cabana next door to them, my money instead. Awful and flat out horrible representation of the brand
