Andy was a phenomenal waiter! You can tell he actually cared about his tables and the customers. 10/10 would come back because of his high quality service. Not only that but the food was so good and everyone was so nice!

First time. Christmas Eve with a very dear life long friend. Kai sat us and explained the rodeo. Darling of a manager. Elvira was our waitress, she was fabulous considering there were practically no free tables. They were decently slammed but everything was flowing. Not once did I hear chaos from unruly customers. No wait staff drama and no kitchen disasters or loud things crashing down somewhere. Floors were clean. Buffets were stocked. Tables immediately bussed and wiped clean after guests left. Impressive. Very impressive. Kai ran that evening shift well while we were there, perhaps 2 hours. 6 to 8pm. They closed at 9pm that day. Everything I tried was perfection. I didn't do any fried foods, no breaded things. Even tried some menu items. We could barely breathe after several plates. Worth it. Desserts were on point. That chocolate square mini tower, FIRE! I WILL be back. Y'all MUST try them.

One thing you would hope from a seafood/Chinese buffet is freshness, and they got it! You can order fresh rolls to your table, and they're included! There is even a ramen spot that I could not even fit in! Plus, unlimited dumplings!! I absolutely recommend this place...put your eating pants on :)

The manager was awesome. The servers were awesome. The food was awesome. They offer military discount. One thing I didn't notice was steak, but the lobster definitely replaced the steak cravings. Their icecream, for me, was extremely delicious. I highly recommend this place. Definitely my new buffet location.

This place has so many options you don't know what to get. You get to pick what sushi u want and your server will bring it to you. Our server Ethan was great. Very attentive and knowledgeable. The coconut shrimp is amazing 👏. Will definitely be back.

This place is amazing! The food is always full and fresh. We’ve been here a few times, and every time the service is great. I don’t know how the service gets better with each visit, but today Ethan truly went above and beyond in his hospitality. With a full restaurant, he never made us feel rushed or like an inconvenience when we needing anything. Hands down the best buffet in San Antonio!

Bar none the single best buffet in San Antonio! I am so happy that the new owners have taken buffet style to the next level with the quality of the food and the service. When KUMI opened we were a little hesitant to try a buffet post COVID, but man did they exceed our expectations. Upon entry the staff welcomes you and does their best to seat you as quickly as possible. From there you server will get your drinks and then it is off to the selections of dishes the run the gamut. I suggest to try different dishes and find your favorites and after a couple of visits you will figure out what makes your dining experience the best. I personally prefer a healthy salad, some sushi and then some Chinese dishes. Don't forget the soups and the fresh seafood to include the crab legs with are delicious and plentiful. I would also like to send a shout out to the staff who are constantly cleaning, preparing and cleaning the restaurant which makes everything as pleasant as can be. Again, to me KUMI is the best place to enjoy a buffet style dining experience in town.

The wife wanted to try this buffet she had heard about. We went around 12 noon and it was busy. The parking lot was packed, but there was plenty of seating, and there was no wait time. We were seated immediately, and had plates of food within a minute or two. They had a good selection to choose from and I went back for 3 plates, mostly shrimp, and beef. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the prices were reasonable for the amount of food a person can eat in one sitting. The location was well maintained and clean, and felt safe for families of all sizes and ages. I would recommend

Definitely worth the trip this evening. Saw this place on Texas Eats and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed at all. Food was good, service and atmosphere were even better. Price is a bit higher than most other buffets but other than that all was well worth the drive.

Newly remodeled and renovated restaurant, Kumi is a new buffet restaurant in SA. Seafood, Sushi, Steak fusion with Asian, Chinese and American buffet. Decent price average about $30 per adult (including tax) and free for kids under 2yrs old. More expensive than most buffet restaurants in the area but it was relt worth. They have snow crab legs, lobster tails, dungeness crabs legs and frog legs. Many more option to choose and more than boring regular Asian buffet. My favorite is that they serve good Ramen noodles with pork or soy soup. Very good. They also have some little European style with cube cheese and some pepperoni slices which I don't most people will like. We liked mostly everything except the dessert could've been more option. They have a best sushi bar in the buffet style. You can order separately sashimi plate with extra cost. There is beer menu on the table. Overall is the enjoyable and fun dining experience with family and friends. 4+ people or more for worth any penny. Come by and check it out yourself. Love coming here it’s the only buffet that I will go to. Service has always been great! Andy has served us the past two times and you don’t need to ask him for anything he’s always on top of it. It’s definitely worth the price for food and service!

My girlfriend and I love Kumi! We come here once a week for date night and tonight we finally found Helen who took care of us like no one else has. She worked very hard to make sure all our orders went through and came out, drinks never went empty, always brought us extra plates and everything we needed without asking. It was an amazing experience

The visit started off great with Robert our server his attention to detail was impeccable. The atmosphere is contemporary with a comfortable vibe ,,, now the food , impressive was the variety and the quality was good as in any Buffet you’ll have your try once and your come back again favorites. KUMI is a culinary adventure definitely worth the try.

Elvira our server was the best, if you haven’t been here, it’s a must try buffer here , go at least once here in San Antonio off of 281, the price an service for what you pay is well worth it. Best Asian buffet restaurant I have been. The price is higher, but it is a get what you pay for deal. I definitely recommend!! They have a noodle bar, a variety of Asian hot Asian dishes, sushi (I don't eat, so I have no idea of quality, but it looked good), BBQ, and steaks. Everything we tried was fantastic. I ate a wide variety of shrimp cooked in many ways. The place had very nice decor. The only item I was not wowed by was the desserts. They were good, but small portions were limited. Most Asian buffets have a soft service ice cream machine. I would have liked that, but they are messy and hard to maintain. Finally, you can usually judge a restaurant by its restroom. The restroom was ample, classy, and clean. If you don't mind paying a little more for outstanding food, excellent atmosphere, and service with clean and classy restrooms, then this is the place.

I really enjoy Kumi Seafood Sushi Chinese Buffet because it's always super clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They definitely make it a point to create a kid-friendly atmosphere, which is a huge plus for families. Plus, there’s a great variety of food options, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Great service, food was hot, overall Seasoned well. My only complaint is about the crayfish, it was a bit mushy and a bit bland on seasoning. Food items were restock promptly on the buffet line. The sushi was delicious and they bring it to your table! Our waitstaff made suggestions on which ones to try, especially the raw sushi, her recommendations were great. Our first time to visit Kumi and we will definitely be back!

Quite frankly, if you have never had a Vegas Buffet experience, get a taste here for half the price. The food was amazing and delicious with lots of premium offerings. We went around brunch on a Sunday, and the food was fresh, plentiful, and delicious. All you can eat Ramen, premium sushi, Steamed crab legs with actual flavor. The staff was amazing and attentive, true to serving with a smile and very knowledgeable. The atmosphere and ambiance were nice as well. Again if you want that expensive Las Vegas buffet experience for half the cost, give them a try.

Not much of a buffet person but so glad we decided to stop in for dinner. The food was awesome. Everything I tried out I enjoyed. There were plenty of options to chose from. A little pricey but well worth it in my oponion. Our waitress Diana was very attentive and friendly. When we were heading out we sparked up a great conversation with our Waitress and two others employees up front. Staff were all so friendly. We will definitely be back with our family.

This place is excellent!!! The food was so good and our waitress Mary was amazing, she was funny and attentive and we had a great time. We got to sit and have yummy food, talk and have a good time, never feeling pressured to leave. Our group left feeling very full and happy!

Not only was the food immaculate and the staff wonderful, but there was one particular server named Ethan. Very wonderful guy he was. He was constantly checking on our table and making sure we had everything we needed. Would 100% recommend to others and would 100% recommend that this server in particular deserves a raise.

Given it's pricier than your average buffet but everything was great. I have never seen rice cakes of dumpling stuff at an Asian buffet before. If you like dine on crustaceans, this is your place.

First time here and I will be returning. One of the best restaurants here in San Antonio. Not only was the food great but the service was amazing! From the gentleman cooking my Ramen to my server Andy! He was phenomenal!!! He never let my drink go down and attended to my every need before I even asked. I had a wonderful experience and will be returning.

Other places try to do what this place did.. an all encompassing buffet, grill, sushi, desert. The layout is well thought out plenty of seating the server Mary was fast and attentive. Absolutely amazing experience! The food was delicious, everything was so fresh, especially the sushi, which was clearly made to order. The prices are fantastic for the quality of seafood you get, making it an incredible value. Our waiter, Teo, went above and beyond! He never let our drinks run empty, kept the table spotless, and even brought me everything I needed without me having to ask. It’s rare to find that level of attentiveness these days. We tried this place for the first time today as a family of three and we will definitely be back, everything was well prepared and our server Andy was very attentive and really sweet. The seafood was delicious and very fresh and the ramen bar was a nice touch (bring a few bucks to tip the ramen lady), they also had a nice variety of sushi.. and I liked that they were playing Yu-Gi-Oh on the TV. It's rare for our family to have a great dining experience that everyone equally enjoyed.. I think this place was worth the cost.(around $64 before tip for three people at lunch)

Lots of varieties to satisfy a large group so everyone is happy. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. The ramen soup, crab, and crawfish were well seasoned. Steak was cooked to your preference. We had medium rare and it was perfect and tender. Would definitely be back if in the area.

My wife and I love Chinese buffets, and we were thrilled with our choice during our recent visit to San Antonio. The atmosphere and decor were delightful. The buffet offered an extensive selection, and everything was fresh and tasty. The highlight was the made-to-order sushi, which was absolutely delicious, with even more options available in the buffet. This is our 5th or 6th time here at KUMI.. we always come on the weekend at lunch time. Even on busy weekend, we get seated right away.. place is clean and staff are always sweeping and cleaning the tables every few minutes.. today's visit was great once again.. our server Teo was very attentive and friendly. He made sure we have everything we requested and we appreciate it. Staff replenished every food tray so quickly. All the food that we ate today was fresh and hot, the lobster cutlets however was a little rubbery but it tasted good 👍 I'm happy that the oysters this time was huge. Crabslegs were steamed to perfection and the sushi and sashimi tasted fresh. We weren't able to try every item because we're super stuffed! We'll be back again in the next few weeks 😋

Specially The snow crab and crawfish were much better than I expected—so fresh and flavorful. I’m also really thankful to the waitress who served our table. I don’t remember her name, but she gave us so much time and made me feel really comfortable and at ease. If you get a chance to visit, it’s definitely worth it—even with a baby! There were lots of families with little ones, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Just wanted to say thank you for such a great experience.

Kumi is a step above your average Chinese buffet experience (though you do pay for it!) They offer a superior quality and variety of items on their buffet line such as a ramen bar, made to order sushi from a menu, crab legs, made to order steak, etc. -as other reviews mention, the coconut shrimp was awesome. -our server was really friendly and nice. -everything appeared clean and fresh. -they offer a limited wine & beer selection. -we did come on a Sunday and had to wait 30 min, which the server said is typical for the weekend. We would definitely come back.

We tried this place for lunch and it was great. It was our first time here, we'll be back, and I highly recommend. It's spacious, very clean, and has a large variety. The atmosphere was wonderful. It's not loud nor whisper quiet. It's just right. Our server, Emil, was attentive and kind. He went the extra mile and we appreciate his service. Andy was a very attentive waiter. He never allowed our drinks to get to the bottom of the glass. One fear of mine going to any buffet is that you will be seated and forgot about. However, Andy ensured that we were well taken care of, which was a very commendable aspect of his service. We had the lunch buffet. The food options were abundant, and in each respective category of food (General Tso’s, Teriyaki chicken, etc.), the food lived up to expectations. I was quite impressed with this place. I have been staying away from buffets for while but decided to give this place a chance, since they do seafood and have crab legs on the weekend. The staff were friendly, the place is spacious. Such a great variety of food to choose from and most of all I was impressed with the cleanliness of the place. There was a staff member wiping down every few minutes and making sure food was replenished. The food was also tasty too. I would definitely go back and highly recommend this place!

This was hands down the best buffet experience I’ve had in San Antonio. Every dish was served hot, fresh, and flavorful—nothing felt like “buffet food.” The sushi and sashimi were exceptional—buttery, fresh, restaurant—quality salmon and tuna cuts. The seafood spread was impressive, too: oysters on the half shell, snow crab legs, mussels, crawfish, and even stuffed baked clams—all prepared perfectly. The short ribs were tender and savory on the hot side, the fried chicken was crispy with just the proper seasoning, and the stir-fried vegetables were cooked fresh and not overdone. Even the miso soup was spot on with silky tofu and rich broth. What stood out was the consistency in quality across everything—seafood, meats, and sides. Each plate I tried felt like it could have come from a specialty restaurant, not a buffet line. If you’re looking for a place in San Antonio that raises the bar for buffets, this is it. Fresh, premium, and absolutely worth the visit. I’ll definitely be coming back.

My friend chose this place as our monthly meet up. And my goodness, I wasn't disappointed! I can't wait to bring family! It was about $20 for the lunch, plus drink. They had lots of sushi at the buffet, but also had lots more that could be ordered fresh. The coconut shrimp was to die for! Plus crab legs, crawfish, brisket, and honestly, at least 50 other options. At least! Their dessert and salad bar were also amazing!

I’ll definitely be back to KUMI! The lunch special is an incredible value, especially since it includes boiled crab legs. The sushi rolls are made to order, incredibly fresh, and the presentation is beautiful. Beyond the seafood, two things really surprised me: the made-to-order ramen was excellent, and the brisket is top-notch. It’s rare to find a place that handles both sushi and BBQ so well. Ms Elvira, our server, was very attentive and pleasant. A huge plus: they are very supportive of the community, offering discounts for active duty/veterans, federal/state government employees, and seniors. Great food and great values!

We visited KUMI as we love chinese buffets and we wanted to try a new one, and since the moment we stepped inside we were surprised by the decor and atomosphere! It has a nice and modern design, there’s plenty of space to walk in between tables and at the buffet and the booths were really comfy. The food steals the show though, everything we tried was really tasty. I specially recommend the coconut shrimp, baked salmon and deluxe seafood. And the cheesecake at the dessert bar was to die for! I also want to give a shoutout to our server, Amy, for the great service she provided! She made sure our drinks were always full and was very attentive, she also showed us the sushi menu and was very friendly. We’re definitely coming back!

This was my 2nd visit, and I realized I missed so much on my first. Our waitress was so attentive making sure our drinks were always full and checking if we wanted to order any special sushi rolls. The crab legs were hot and plentiful. The oysters were great. They had raw and baked. On this trip I also tried the dumplings, rice noodles, baked mussels, chicken teriyaki, beef galbi and egg roll. Everything was very good. I ordered the rainbow roll and the yellowtail sampler from the fresh made sushi. It was so delicious and the yellowtail sampler came on a sushi boat. I finish the meal with rainbow sherbet. My adult sons and other family members tried many more things and loved it all. It is a pricey buffet but with all the seafood and sushi, it is well worth it. You can get custom Ramen and steaks made to order also

Everything was delicious and definitely deserving of another visit soon. I highly recommend going. The place was clean, even the bathroom. Loved it! This is my type of place! Ok.. here’s the good and bad. First of all, I love the decor and ambience. I was craving sushi, and I had seen some local food influencer do a review of this place and wanted to try it. Walking in, the buffet was kind of in a square around the central sushi area. What I absolutely LOVED though, is when we were sat, they have a sushi menu, and you can actually order as much fresh sushi as you want to go to your table! Then.. the buffet. Oh lawd. They had such amazing selections. They have a charcuterie section with meats, cheeses, fruits, little pickles. They had crab salad, potato salad, salad salads. They had a dumpling and bun section. Soups. Bbq section. Ramen bar where you can build your own ramen. A grill where you can get steaks made. Just a little bit of everything good in the world. Now here’s just a tad of the downside for me. The sushi was OK. It wasn’t great. Look, I know I know, it’s a buffet. But with the sushi bar in the middle and the menu to get fresh sushi.. I was hoping it would be a little better. It was good but not great. Really not much better than other buffet’s sushi. It was fresh but could hav been fresher.. or maybe just needed a little more vinegar in the rice or something.. idk That being said, the dumplings, buns, chicken wings, salads, and other things were really awesome! When I come back, I’ll still get sushi, but I won’t fill up on it like I did this time. Overall though, great place! I recommend trying them out.

I absolutely love seafood buffets, and among all the buffets I’ve tried in Texas, this one is by far the best. They offer an incredible variety of seafood, including oysters, clams, snow crab, shrimp, and many more, all fresh and delicious. In addition to seafood, there are noodle soups, meat dishes, Chinese food, and countless other options to choose from. The restaurant is very clean, and even the restrooms are spotless, which really impressed me. The staff are extremely friendly — almost overly kind in the best possible way. This was hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Highly recommended!

Our server Marianna was amazing — she was very attentive, full of energy, and had such a bubbly personality that made the whole dining experience even better. The food was excellent — the sushi and seafood were fresh and of much higher quality than most buffets we’ve been to. Everything tasted delicious, and the variety kept us coming back for more - I ate 4 plates plus 1 dessert plate! Overall, between the fantastic service and the quality of the food, this place is a must-visit. My friends and (party of 6) definitely be coming back!

This was an amazing experience! After receiving a warm welcome from everyone in the front, we promptly shown our seats. The buffet had a good selection of different styles of food and even cooked to order steak! The coconut shrimp was excellent. The steak was on par with what I would expect from a chain steakhouse. The sushi menu is included in the buffet, and it was delicious. Our waiter Teo was amazing, he was perfectly polite, funny, and made sure we were taken care of at all times. This is going to be a regular spot for us!

I visited Kumi for lunch and dinner on 3 separate occasions. The seating is super crowded. It’s like they squeezed in as many tables as possible on their floor space. When people are seated at tables together, you cannot walk through. It’s like a maze to try to find a way out. They also have booth seating which seemed nicer and didn’t need to worry about people trying to get through behind your chair.. The food was good. They had the standard Chinese buffet foods you normally see at other restaurants such as beef w/ broccoli, sesame chicken, general tso chicken, cheese rangoons, egg rolls, rice, noodles, hot and sour soup, wonton soup, egg drop soup, miso soup, etc. But the difference is the number of seafood items. They had a lot of shrimp dishes and cold snow crab legs. The steam crab legs are not offered during lunch. There is a ramen and grill area where they will cook to order. They have different types of sushi and can also make sushi to order. It is not quiet for an intimate setting, but no buffet restaurants are quiet that I’ve experienced. It was very clean and the restrooms were very clean. If you’re hungry for shrimp and crab legs, this is the place to go! Where else can you eat unlimited crab legs for lunch? During lunch, the parking lot was surprisingly almost full in the front and sides but I was lucky enough to find a spot in the front. Weekends is a little more difficult to park and the restaurant was full and kind of noisy but that’s to be expected for the amount of people. They offer military discount. Lunch was $20 and dinner was $30. Drinks are not included in the buffet price.

Theres plenty of seating, our waitress was very attentive with refilling drinks and taking plates off the table, and I appreciate the distance between the buffets so it's easy to browse around others. Overall, the food at this buffet was fresh, hot, decently seasoned, and I appreciate that the sauces weren't overly sweet. Crispy steamed vegetables, tender meat, the lo mein was overcooked but the other noodles were great, and the fried rice was actually pretty flavorful compared to other buffets. Fresh seafood, seafood boils, bao and dumpling options, soup options, plenty of salad options, freshly cut fruit, and self serve ice cream but the other dessert options were lacking in my opinion. Sushi station - freshly made sushi and multiple options BBQ station - steak made to order, brisket dry, and also had sausage available. Ramen station - pick your toppings and meat, then the server let's you select what noodles and broth (chicken or pork) you would like. The beef was overcooked and the broth didn't have much flavor.

This is the best sushi and seafood buffet. I have been to so many of these places. Often, many of the food items don't taste fresh. It's not a problem here. All items I had were fresh and great tasting. For a buffet, the waiter was very attentive and polite. You will not be disappointed.

By far the best Chinese option in San Antonio. The main entrees are fresh and good flavor. Haven’t been sitting in the warmers for hours. Lots of seafood options if that is your thing. There is a ramen bar, a large selection of sushi and lots of salads. The dessert area is also extensive. Based on large amount of options and the quality, I would definitely return.

Food was great, service was amazing, only thing and this is just my own personal thing, for someone that unfortunately can't handle spicy food, chicken teriyaki, beef broccoli and sesame chicken were the only non spicy options. Other than that everything else was really good.

The food was good. Hot and mostly fresh. One of the chicken dishes was a little soggy. But the crab was great, the steak was great, the seafood was great. The rice was good but had some tinfoil that was burnt inside the rice to grab 😬 but otherwise it was all good. The sushi was really nice. The service was great as well. I loved avatar playing on the TV lol definitely worth the price if you like crab legs and steak and sushi! I need to try the Ramen next. I was just so full.

We went at 4pm for dinner. Adult is 28.99 kids 7-11 was $15. Pros: They do have a good selection of kids food if you have picky eater. Chicken strips, potato fries, mozzarella stick, egg rolls. We got sushi made and brought to our table as we had no idea how long the other had been sitting out. We were also told by the waitress to do this as well. The steak was delicious but a bit salty. The seafood was delicious. Lots of desserts as well. Ice cream, cakes, jello. The fruit was fresh and large pieces. The tables and chairs were in good condition. Bathroom was clean and was even being wiped down when we went inside. Our waitress was amazing. Cons: They were using a bug zapper where they prepare the sushi and over the food in that area. I watched them drag the top of the zapper across one of the metal toppers and not wipe it down. They do a 10% military discount but only for that member, no dependents. It's not a 10% for the bill. Your soda doesn't count as it's not part of your meal. Soda is $2.99. They have a 15% service charge already built into your bill.

Not much to write about. Typical buffet. Travelled to the other side of town based on a recommendation, but I've been to better closer to home. If you want to get what you pay for, then go here for the pompano, otherwise it is not worth the traffic headache on a Friday night.

Three stars but I would be willing to return. Only issue was food temperatures. Most of the food was slightly warm and I would’ve preferred hotter food. Large selection of items, friendly staff and worth the price point. They should just check temps more frequently.

We came here craving Chinese food and sushi , yes they have a good selection of rolls. But the Chinese dishes are only a few. They have a greater selection of seafood,desserts and American food. The restaurant was very busy with almost all the booths and tables full, which makes it harder to navigate the lines of the buffet. They did s nice job remodeling with lots of chandeliers and lights, bathrooms were clean. I would say that the quality and the selection of the food don't match the prices. I would not go back here simply because I do not like nuggets, I was just willing to try this one on a whim.

Service was great. My server was so quick and attentive, he even offerred chili sauce when he saw we got oysters. They has a variety of food, many cuisines, Chinese, Korean, hibachi, ramen, seafood, etc.. you named it. However, maybe bc they has so many options, the taste of those food were so off. Oysters were flavorless and full of dirt. They could have rinse them more. I had to wash it again before eating. LA galbi was salty, baked oysters was underseasoned. Like the quality wasn't there at all. The think we liked the most was cheese baked mussles, other than that, other food tasted frozen and flavor was off. I know the price was cheap for crab legs, seafood and more, but I did expect more in taste.

At $28 a person, not including a drink, you think its going to be better than it is. Its not though. I got 4 different types of chicken that all had the same taste profile, like and underscore of same seasoning no matter the flavor. Steak is just sitting out on what I hope is a cold plate. Just RAW beef sitting uncovered no sneeze guard. Mongolian beef was like rubber, so chewy. For the money I kept going back to try and find something redeeming... the cheese puffs were great, that's about it. I do not enjoy leaving bad reviews so, staff was great friendly and helpful is the best thing I could say.

I will never come here again. This is a buffet where you serve yourself. We had a party of 8 and I only paid for my and my son. It was 26.99 a person and then on top of it due to them brining water to 8 people they then changed another 15% on top of it. I understand that when you bring the food to us with a large party but all you did was bring drinks. Somehow, that 15% isn’t going to the waiter they said that it’s for the store and that it doesn’t count towards the tip. That’s very shady.
