Willie's is the place to go! My mom and I haven't been out to eat since March due to the pandemic. We have been a little scared and finally decided to go somewhere. We chose Willie's and it was a great experience our first time out. Our waitress Taylor was amazing! She reassured us the table was sanitized and gave us excellent service. The manager checked on us. The food was outstanding! We sat outside and it was a nice environment. I was very pleased. We will be going back next week!

I love willie's. All I've ever gotten was chicken fried chicken and fried catfish with crawfish tails. Boudin balls when they had them. All of it is outstanding.

When I think of Willie’s I will always remember the amazing service by our server Mario. I Accidentally ordered the wrong thing for my daughter and he did not hesitate to get me the right meal for her on the spot. Our appetizers got to the table super quick and were very fresh & tasty. I appreciated his attention to detail throughout the entire visit and will definitely be back again soon.

Willie’s is a great go to place! Reasonably priced menu for seafood that is quite good paired with delicious beverages. I went for the fried shrimp and fish combo platter this time paired with a Dos-Arita and it was delicious and refreshing. Place your orders at the counter when you enter and pick where you want to sit. The service was great and the waiter at the table will close out your tab.

We had a fabulous time!! The food was absolutely amazing! Service was great! The margaritas actually had alcohol in them (which many other places just barely have alcohol, it's basically a smoothie). I'm glad to go back to the beginning of the crayfish season, but be in for a surprise! This year, the crayfish platter we all loved has almost doubled in price. While your shrimp is cut down to half a pound! $60! Went to the website and they even warned about these prices and size of crayfish is currently about 2.5" x less than 1". But prices were not listed online. $Sixty dollars! $60!

So I've said my fav dish is crawfish etouffee. I forgot to take a picture of the presentation cause I was so hungry. Well here at Willie's so far has the best. It's flavor is good, they serve it with a little critter on top of a bed of rice. The spiciness of the etouffee was so spicy, I had to order some water and toast. Very unusual for me but man is it good!! The $3 margarita strawberry was also very tasty. Definitely a comeback spot. Service was awesome and friendly.

This my first time attending a Willie’s Mardi Gras event. It runs February 8-13th. A friend follows the Groove Doctors who played the night we were there. The atmosphere was lively and fun for food, music and dancing. We had great frozen margaritas and good food. Food ordered: grilled Cajun chicken with street corn and mashed potatoes; fried fish sandwich with fries and fried mushrooms and mozzarella cheese sticks. We had a great time and plan to attend this annual event. A large tent adjacent to the restaurant was where the event was held. This was a child friendly event as well with children attending with their families. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly as well.

Hadnt been here in years. Always liked it but it was even better than i remembered. Clean, fast, and delicious. Got catfish and fried crawfish tails which were amazing. Already want to go back!

So busy but service and quality was still great. Server Vidal took less than a min to get our ticket. Fried pickles were out in 6min. Lunch was out 15min later. No issues with wait and everything was great. Great variety on food choices. Kid friendly with the sand pit. and maragartitas are delicious. Definitely the best Willies in San Antonio!

Willie's Icehouse on 281 is the place to be for amazing burger deals with fantastic customization options that cater to every craving. Their peach cobbler is a must-try, especially when served on those charming cast iron plates that truly elevate the dish to another level. Allison's service and recommendations during our visit were top-notch, making our experience even more enjoyable. Can't wait to go back for more delicious food and great service!

My wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner at Willie's while on a road trip. The steak, ribs, fries, onion rings, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables were all excellent. The chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich was also delicious. Additionally, the service and atmosphere were great.

The bar people where I ordered my food are incredibly sweet and provided excellent recommendations. The server was attentive and provided exceptional service, ensuring that everything was taken care of promptly.

***MILITARY DISCOUNT*** Great ambiance with tons of indoor and outdoor seating. Only 2 stalls in the bathrooms which was disappointing but it will do the trick. Prices are reasonable and the food is pretty tasty. The only thing is it is a little confusing when you order and pay! You order and then have a seat, meet your wait staff then pay them when it is all said an done. Something new for this first timer🤣 TV'S galore so it doesn't matter where you sit, you will see the TV's😊

Ordering up front was quick and simple. There was a decent selection of beers and items were reasonably priced. I had a cheesesteak and my wife had grilled Mahi Mahi fish tacos. You can choose to have your fish breaded, blackened or grilled so that was nice. We took a seat outside on the deck, which has a large sandbox play area for children. There was a nice, relaxing, slow, family friendly vibe our entire visit. The waitress was attentive and always kept the drinks topped off but wasn't overbearing or super chatty, which was perfect for us. Overall good food, good staff, and good atmosphere.

We visited Willie's Grill and Icehouse for a family outing. This Willie's is on U.S. 281 on the west side fairly close to the Brook Hollow intersection. The restaurant is close to Power Fitness and Country Village Plaza. It was the second trip for most of us. Willie's offers dining indoors or on a shaded wooden patio which is especially pleasant in cool, springtime weather. The eatery is know for it's fried gulf seafood as well as generous presentations of Louisiana crawfish when in season. It's known for imaginative hamburgers: This night, I chose the Hickory Cheddar Burger for $10.99 including one side. Their most expensive hamburger is the Icehouse Willie for $12.99 with one side. I sometimes wonder why Willie's isn't often mentioned among the best hamburgers in San Antonio. It may be that folks do not often want to pay $10.50 to $13.00 for a burger and fries. I think it depends on how hungry you are and how adventurous. It took me about 15 minutes to finish of my Hickory Cheddar Burger. If you're wanting to be a little careful on your fat and calorie intake, you can order flavorful grilled or blackened chicken and two sides for $11.99. Willie's is a fun place to eat. This place has been here a long time, in fact it used to be called Chicken Willies. I've eaten here numerous times and it is always consistently good and the service is always outstanding! Today I had the fried chicken cobb salad. This is one of my favorite dishes here. They also have really good fish, shrimp and burgers. You can tell by the crowds of people that they have a good reputation. So if you're in the mood for some good old American comfort food, you need to give Willie's a try.

We stopped by Willie’s Grill & Icehouse on San Pedro around 4:30 today, and everything was absolutely perfect. The brisket queso was hands-down one of the best things I’ve had in a long time — rich, smoky, and full of flavor. The rest of our food came out hot and fresh, and the service was just as impressive. The atmosphere was laid-back and family-friendly — exactly what I was hoping for with the kids. Everyone was smiling, the music was just right, and the whole place had such a good vibe. A big shoutout to Tom, who clearly runs an excellent restaurant with an amazing crew. You can tell they take pride in what they do. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This was the first Willie’s I ever went to which goes back to the mid 1990’s. I think it was likely ‘94 or ‘95. Loved it then - ❤️❤️it now. Some great vibe and causal decor for all these years. These new Smoked Ribeye Nacho’s were exceptional. Great Smokey / Sweetness on top of crisp tortilla chips, smothered with queso and then hit with some heat in the pico-de-gallo. The prices have gone up a bit in 30 years (ain’t everything though?) My single nacho item along with a tea along with sales tax, brought my tab, before tip, to over $21. That won’t keep me away. Just like Frosty the ⛄️, “I’ll be back again someday”

We went for a family celebration and everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the chipotle shrimp tacos and was pleasantly surprised! My sides were chips and salsa and corn. My mom had the catfish and shrimp combo, aunt had a hamburger with onion rings, and my niece had the chicken tenders. For dessert, we got the brownie to share, and it was wonderful! Service was great and very attentive even though the place was packed like sardines.

The staff at the register when ordering were helpful and fast. Didn’t wait long for a brisket baked potato, fried shrimp plate and kids chicken plate. The brisket potato was really good. The shrimp was weird it was rubbery and had a sweet taste. The kids chicken was super hot and fresh but a very big portion. The windows were all open and it felt really fresh. The shrimp plate was very disappointing the side of tartar sauce was so nasty like it was old. The fried pickles were also good.

Hamburgers and sandwiches are great here. The Chicken Fried Steak was tough, and the gravy had no flavor. My fried cat fish also had no flavor even though I put tarter sauce and lemon on it.

Decent food, chicken tenders were good, but the chicken sandwich wasn’t it. Wish the fried pickles were thicker slices as they were super thin.

They have a sandbox for kids y'all so come prepared. There are misters outside to help keep cool. Can't say if they help since I ate inside. Place was packed on a Saturday evening. Wait went by fast talking with friends. The fried pickles and mushrooms were good. But could only eat a few because they are a little salty after a while. The Mediterranean salad was delicious. Staff was very friendly. Tables were crowded so waking to restroom was like a skinny maze. Overall, I'd probably go back to try something else on the menu.

Our server was Monk, super sweet & friendly. Very attentive and fixed my husband's food order. We have been 5 or 6 times before and never knew about the app. My husband tried the pulled pork sandwich but didn't know it had slaw on it. She put in a remake that took a little long but she checked on up a few times to make sure we were all good. However nothing was done to fix the problem because the girl in the front didn't tell us would ut be OK with slaw? I made modifications to my burger no problem. No line behind is either. It would help the servers and cooks if the people in the front get the order correct. Our service was 10/10. I always order a burger because its honestly the best one I've had. We will definitely visit again.

Overall, our recent visit was as good as our previous visit from a couple of years ago. That said, the hamburger buns were not fresh. In fact, a bit on the stale side. We’ll chalk that up as a one-off as we’re confident it was not a common issue, but it did take away from the rest of an otherwise pleasant visit.

Great food place. We came here after we weighed in for a powerlifting meet and let me tell you the chocolate Oreo milkshake was *MUAH* and the fried pickles really came in clutch. Ambiance was great and the ordering process was easy. Order, grab your drinks, find a table and be served your food. Carlos, our waiter was on top of it all. Would recommend. The only thing that disappointed me were the sweet potato fries. Texture wasn’t consistent but they tasted good for flavor.

Everything seemed fast paced, I felt there was no time to ask about the seasonal menu. The food was pricey like every where else. The food was good. Their fries were well fried, not greasy and flavored with their spices. The blackened chicken sandwich with street corn was good. Who could go wrong with chicken tenders? The turkey mushroom burger was good! Not dry, thin but moist.

My friend and I were returning to this restaurant for the first time in awhile and we both enjoyed our visit. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the mild weather on their very nice patio. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Everything was pretty tasty and the service was OK - kind of slow -- but OK. As usual, the portions were very generous and we both took home lots of food for another day. And they do give a military discount! Always a plus!

Willie's is a pretty standard all American burger bar. You'll find all your go to classic options from burgers, to chicken, to dad beer. The appetizers are all fried things you'd expect. There is plenty of seating and a really nice patio area with a sand box for kids. Order the burger of you visit, and definitely add bacon.

The wings are over cooked and under-sauced. The first time this happened I gave them credit for the businesses at the time, there were no excuses this time. The drinks are fun and cheap, the fries are good if they don't over season them and the kids like the burgers.

Got to come here for dinner one night to support the San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition! Willie's does spirit nights that benefit local charities which is very cool! This was my first time here but not my husband's. I appreciate that they have vegan options for me such as the fried mushrooms, fried onions and fried pickles! My husband is not vegan so he had a lot of options. I'd really like to see the Impossible burger offered here in the future! Would be a nice vegan addition to the menu! 🙂

I had not been to a Willie’s in a long time so when I was researching on where to stop and eat on my way home I saw a Willie’s was on the way. Heck yeah got to stop and have the fried catfish and shrimp! Was really disappointed in what I got. The catfish was under cooked and the shrimp was like rubber and tasteless. The atmosphere was great with plenty of TV’s to watch football and a great outdoor seating area. Service staff were helpful and the waitress was outstanding! They offer a lot more on the menu than they used to. The person next table to me had chicken fried steak and it looked delicious! Very clean and well kept. I would definitely go back to try something else on the menu.

Our first visit to this restaurant and it was ok. I ordered a bacon hamburger, and I was disappointed with the burger. The buns were served cold. They forgot the jalapeños and the bacon was way too salty!!. The atmosphere was very loud. Service was good. The grill salmon was very good and delicious.

We’ve been coming to Willie’s for 5 years. The last time we visited, we weren’t very impressed, but we decided to give it one last chance. We ordered the fried pickles, but they were extremely greasy, and we could barely eat them. Then our main meals arrived. My husband couldn’t eat his—he said he felt nauseous and thought he might get sick. A few minutes later, I also started feeling unwell from all the oil and couldn’t finish my meal. I told him, “You’re probably not actually sick, the food is just way too greasy.” Normally, our kids love their burgers and always finish their fries, but this time neither of my sons could eat their food, and they didn’t even touch the fries. Overall, we left feeling sick because of how excessively oily everything was. Even the ranch sauce, which is usually good, was so watery this time that it didn’t even taste like ranch—it was more like a strange, thin dressing. I don’t know what’s going on here lately, but this experience was really disappointing. I’m only writing this review in the hope that the restaurant takes the feedback seriously and makes some improvements.

I specifically ordered from here because I had a craving for loaded fries and macaroni and cheese, and they're the only restaurant Uber Eats had available for quick delivery. All the fries are under cooked and bland. "Loaded" fries, too. I don't even want to bother. My kids don't like the fries, and that speaks volumes. The Mac and cheese is worse than Kraft in a box. Oh, and I ordered ranch. Didn't get ranch. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the chicken tenders were edible. Not good, though. Absolutely no reason to order from here or come back. At least with McDonald's, their mystery meat tastes better, the fries taste better, and it's less expensive.

This location is rundown, dirty, and smells. We started to walk out but decided to stay because we've eaten at other locations. Our table was dirty, so we told our server. She just took a nap and half wiped the table. I keep sanitizer wipes with me, so we cleaned our own table. We ordered chicken nachos. They look like they just threw the nachos on a plater with a little chicken and cheese. They were cold. When the meals came out, the burgers looked just threw together. Burgers were very dry, had no season, and were tasteless. The onion rings were good. The catfish needed seasoning. Our server was not nice or friendly. She had an attitude like she didn't want to be at work(do her job).

The place almost looks like an old gas station. I had picked an order for someone. So decided to try it. I ordered the Willie hamburger, it was with cheese. It came with fries. It was filled with the usual, lettuce, onion, tomato and several pickles. What was missing? Flavor. It had none. I ended up using the salt shaker, which I never have to do at any other hamburger joint. The waitress was coming up to me calling me Mamma. I actually don’t like to be called that. They need to think about who they use that phrase to. I just felt that the waitress was rushing me out the door. I like to sit and enjoy everything and it was apparent that, that was not going to happen this evening.

All I can say is if you order an appetizer MAKE sure your server submits your meal ticket otherwise expect to wait 30-40 min for cold food. Manager stated appetizers cause food to be delayed..and said sorry that happened. We had a very simple order and the chips and queso held us over until the cold food arrived.

Placed my order and went to sit outside waiting for order with my drink. Had my number and receipt on the table waiting for a waiter to come and verify my order and make sure it was placed like they always do. It was fairly busy but not overwhelming. I have waiters all around me going to this table and that table repeatedly asking if they are okay, if they need anything etc. finally after 40 min, which I was in no rush just enjoying the weather outside, I guess a manager asked if I had been helped along with a family who had just arrived. I said no politely and someone comes out a few minutes later apologizing saying they didn’t know they had a my table despite everyone around me getting helped. I don’t mind the wait time I know businesses are short staff these days but it’s the lack of customer service even if someone isn’t in your section, you notice someone new is sitting down, it takes two minutes to acknowledge someone and say we will be with you shortly or as soon as possible whatever the case may be. But for people sitting all around me to get asked multiple times and if the needed anything while I didn’t even get acknowledged at all. I understand I was the only black person out there but damn Willie’s y’all can have your waiters acknowledge customers so they know they aren’t forgotten. They comped my $2 margarita whoopty doo but I didn’t get any food cause I needed to leave for work. So thank y’all for having me go to work over night hungry :)

Poor quality beef patty. Have been there in a while so thought we’d stop in. They’ve changed their meat and the quality shift is very noticeable. They patty texture was not good. VERY disappointed. Was gonna get a fish taco which was always a favorite but the menu has changed and the sign was confusing “cheesy smash taco”(?) something like that. I have no idea.
