Opinions de Pho 4 Star San Antonio
Tried this new place out and my daughter and I tried some vermicelli bowls. She had the lemon grass chicken and I had the pork with spring roll. Her lemon grass chicken was really good. My pork was good but had a lot of fatty pieces. We will definitely be back to try more items.
The Edamame was seasoned with the right amount of salt which was so good as a starter. Ordered the vegetable pho and it did not disappoint at all. The broth was clean and savory. The amount of noodles was a generous portion.
We’ve ordered takeout from here twice now, and both experiences have been excellent. I called ahead to ask about MSG since we tend to react negatively to it, and they were very transparent—they do use a small amount. That said, it must be minimal because I haven’t felt sick at all after eating here. The food tastes very clean, and the quality of the ingredients and presentation really stand out. We ordered the pho, and my daughter tried the ramen—both were delicious and well balanced. I’m so glad we found this spot. It’s honestly surprising that it’s called Four Star because the experience feels closer to a 4.9. They also mentioned that with 24 hours’ notice, they’re happy to accommodate special requests and omit MSG, which is rare and very much appreciated. Highly recommend for anyone looking for thoughtfully prepared, high-quality food.
Food is always very yummy. I always get the Pork summer rolls when I go and they never disappoint. Often when I get summer rolls they have imitation crab or shrimp (and that is of course not to bash those who enjoy that) but I personally feel like the pork ones are better and these ones are some of the best I’ve ever had! The service is quick and in my experience the food comes out quite fast. I highly recommend coming here if you like pho and other yummy Asian dishes. Thank you to the team at Pho 4 Star for the yummy meal!
I am a little disappointed. Why is this place named "Pho 4 Star" when it is clearly 5 Stars? The food was well prepared with very fresh ingredients. The Bahn Mi sandwich was very flavorful and well balanced between the protein and the vegetables. Some other Vietnamese restaurants sometimes skimp in either area, but not here. The PHO was delicious. The rare steak was sliced very thin and resulted in a very tender bite every time. The service was very prompt and friendly. A must try if you are in the area.
This is the owner’s 3rd location that I am aware of! By far one of the best pho in San Antonio! I had the Super Pho, a ridiculously sized portion of pho, the dang bowl is bigger than chopsticks laid across! And it was super delicious! Spring rolls are also a hit, unlike most places. This location’s spring rolls are packed with meat!
Update: This place is still fantastic and now i found this Thai Beef Salad, sooo freaking good. Consistently great quality and food! I have been waiting every so patiently for this place to open near my house and was so excited finally eat here! It was everything and more than I expected. The sign says 4 star but the Pho is 5 stars for sure, so freaking good. Banh mi on the menu! Thank you to the owners for giving us all an amazing Pho restaurant in this area!!!
I have nothing but great things to say about this location, I am hooked! The staff here on Evans is always very friendly and attentive, even when it's busy. The environment is very comfy and family friendly, so don't hesitate to bring the whole group! Food is always tasteful and fresh, whether it be just an appetizer or your actual entrée and they also have weekly specials. 10/10 recommend for anyone who's looking for a new pho place to try out or to make their "home."

Food was phenomenal, had the curry and combination rice and loved it. The boba tea maybe my favorite thing it was so refreshing ,highly recommend the coffee flavored one. Will be back soon !
Love eating here. I don't live far from here and have eaten here a couple of times. The latest visit was for take out. I ordered the lemongrass pork with shrimp and my wife had the combination fried rice. The food was great. Got both dinners I paid about $32. Glad to have good food not far from the house.
Love the food and the service. Always attentive and the food tastes fresh. The lumpia and super chicken pho bowl are my go-to. The wife gets the vegetarian pho with the veggie broth and really enjoys it as well. They have a pretty diverse menu that should satisfy most cravings.
The fried Spring Rolls were delicious And it tasted to be homemade. Pho broth is OK, too much black pepper (never had black pepper served in broth before at any pho restaurant before in SA) Some of the Beansprouts is not fresh either, I did tasted some bad ones.

Nem cuom, summer rolls, and pho are always amazing. The bun bo hue is super good too~
Food was delicious, large portions, and tons of veggies in my tofu drunken noodles. I like to order extra romain to go with my large vietnamese rolls. Will be back. I only do take out, you can pick up through the drive thru. The inside lights are super bright and bothersome so I won't ever dine in.

New Pho restaurant in north side of SA near highway 281 N. Easy location with decent parking. First impressions of the restaurant was it okay. No music just a few TVs with traveler YouTube video with no audio. There were three waitress but they seem wanted to be here working. Just walking back and forth. Never come by and check up on us. Came in and tried it for first time. Ordered the special 4star Com Rice Plate and Nem Cuon appetizer. Loved the rice place. It was okay. The rice was little hard. There were 4 rolls from nem Cuon and 2 of them half cold. Seem like older older from fridge not fresh rolled. This seems like a Thai restaurant than a Vietnamese restaurant. Definitely check out the pad Thai and other option. Saw a lot of take out "To-go" order picked up while we here. Don't expect busy in the restaurant. One time only for us. It works for other. It's okay. Don't let the picture fool you. I wish they work hard on the foods better and customer service. Also double check your receipt. They overcharged me the nem cuon and com 4star. The prices on menu are old price.

This place is an Asian fusion spot with Thai and Vietnamese dishes. This was the worst drunken noodle i I have ever had in my life, no flavor and not really cooked through. The nem cuon was pretty good. If you like authentic cuisine this is not the spot for you.
Pad Thai looked more like spaghetti. Egg rolls weren't fresh... Like they had been under a heat lamp all day. I've had better food at a buffet for a lot less $$

Spicy edamame was not spicy at all and had zero seasoning on it. Very bland. The pork dumplings were cold and you could tell they were not fresh. The veggie ramen was ok. Needed more veggies besides 1 mushroom 2 small broccoli and 2 carrots. Maybe if those things are changed it’ll taste better.

I ordered from Uber eats and both entrees showed up melted into the styrofoam containers. This is completely unsafe. The spring rolls had no flavor
Staff is very unpleasant and not friendly, making you feel VERY uncomfortable. The food used to be good but lately it’s been sloppy. For instance they put an unreasonable amount of spice in the Thai spice. I get spice is in the name but it’s so hot you cannot even eat it. We also got combination fried rice; shrimp and beef and there’s only 3 shrimp when we asked for extra shrimp. What makes me more upset is that the food is expensive and you’re paying all of that for sloppy/lazy food and BEYOND UGLY SERVICE. Then when we tried to show the manager the food, he stated “You’re just trying to get free food.” I mean how disrespectful is that??? I don’t understand how someone who runs a restaurant can be that unprofessional. He was very confrontational. Like you’re really going to fight a customer in your own restaurant? What a JOKE of manager and restaurant. Clearly my name is CHASE, not CHRIS. Y’all big mad? Huh? Have a GREAT day PHO 1 Star! 🤣
The first time I visited this establishment, was the second week that they were open last year. I arrived at 8:45 and asked if we could get a table for our friends who just got into town from Tulsa. The tall gentleman indicated to me that they would not give us a table because they were going to close at nine. I did not visit again until I placed a to go order tonight. I ordered the beef steak, pho, and got it in the drive-through. When I got home, the steak was raw and cold. I called at 8:56 to let them know, and the phone rang for at least 30 seconds. When it was answered, the same tall gentleman who took my order and gave my order through the drive-through, told me that we have to cook it ourselves, that we’re supposed to do that. That is not OK with me. I ordered our, so I do not have to cook!! And there was very little mitigation that he was willing to do. I should have learned my lesson the first encounter.

Just not my type of food. I kept the leftovers and seasoned it ....actually wasn't half bad. The sweet and sour sauce was just colored water.
Idk if someone made a mistake or what but it tasted like anise and pho is not supposed to taste like ouzo, absinth, or black licorice. I’ve had pho over 100 times in my life in different states and different restaurants and also made an easy version at home for myself. This was the worst tasting broth I’ve ever had. And pho is all about the broth. I ordered about a year or two ago and never ordered again.
