This was our second Valentine’s Day here, and it’s officially become our place. The vibe is beautifully simple with an Italian aesthetic, upscale and elegant without ever feeling snooty or pretentious. It strikes the perfect balance between impressive and comfortable. The food is consistently excellent, high quality, thoughtfully prepared, and absolutely delicious. The pricing reflects the quality and experience, and it feels well worth it. It’s the kind of spot you choose when you want to impress without feeling over-the-top. The drinks are a standout. The Carajillo is a whole show and vibe (don’t skip it), and I had the best Cosmopolitan of my life. Stephen, our bartender, was incredible, attentive, friendly, and calm despite how packed and overwhelming Valentine’s night was. The Carajillo is a whole show, and Brandon our waiter performed it perfectly. It felt like dinner and a little bit of theater all in one. He was charming, attentive, and made sure every detail of our experience felt intentional. There was a slight wait even with reservations, but it was Valentine’s Day, completely expected and honestly worth it. We’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences here, and it’s safe to say this has become our annual Valentine’s tradition and likely our go to anytime we’re craving an elegant night out. Highly recommend for date nights, anniversaries, or even a business dinner with a beautiful backdrop. 10/10 — romance without the pretentiousness 🤍
this night my girlfriends and i had an AMAZING time at scuzzi’s. everyone including our waitress, hostess, other workers, and the owner was so patient, hospitable, and we never felt unwelcome. i came here 2 years ago during a very busy valentine’s, and even then, our service was amazing. this time, we came to celebrate our friend’s late 21st birthday and having taken our last final of the semester! our waitress was named allison and she was too patient (way more than we deserved 😭) and fun! she checked on us a gracious number of times, which we appreciated. for food: i ordered the pan-seared tuna and it came with a yummy mango asparagus sauce. it comes with spaghetti so i requested a lemon butter sauce on it 😝 i do wish it was a bit more zesty but it was delicious- not oily and heavy and also not bland! allison came around asking if we wanted cheese, salt, or pepper on everything :D so there’s really no complaints about something being too salty or undersalted. it was my my friends’ first time at scuzzi’s and they ordered the beef tenderloin, chicken napolitano and grilled chicken. they loved their food. one of them ordered a red wine (we forgot the name) and thought it was sweet and decadent. for dessert, i ordered the crème brûlée which came with strawberries and whipped cream on the side. i’m a sucker for custardy desserts so i was in heaven. it was one of the girls’ first time trying it! at the end, the owner, mazi, was intent on making sure we celebrated, so the team brought out sparklers and canolis with yummy cold filling & chocolate chips for us. allison even took the time to take pictures for us before we left. overall, we loved the fancy and inviting vibes at scuzzi’s and will be coming back, of course!!!
Celebrated my birthday with my best friend and had a lovely time! Our server was JR and he was super attentive, Friendly and funny. Looking forward to coming back for date night 💘
Service was excellent. I was seated and all my questions were answered right away. The staff was very knowledgeable and quick to address my questions and concerns. Looking forward to having an event here! The room looks spacious and there is an outdoor patio. Isabelle Jasmine was very attentive and considerate, I was working through lunch on the phone and making calls as she was serving and there was no disruption at all! We will definitely return, I like that even a party of two can have a booth that is comfortable.
This was our first time at Scuzzi's. It was a pleasant atmosphere and a lovely restaurant. We really liked the exceptional service we received we never had an empty glass and received their delicious bread and oil right away. Our server, Dan G. was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We enjoyed our meal and know that we will be back again for excellent food and service. May I recommend the Chicken Nopalitano....it was very delicious. 🙂 Try Scuzzi's there's no better Italian Food in the City!!!
I reserved a private space for a post-funeral lunch. The manager and hostess treated us like family. They were incredibly attentive to us and seated us in the perfect spot to enjoy a meal together on a very emotional day. The food was delicious (best chicken piccata I've ever had!), and the server was absolute perfection. It truly could not have been a better experience, all around. Thank you, Scuzzi's!
This was a re-do of Galentines, and it was truly an amazing experience. They treated us so well and were very attentive to us the entire time. I am so so so thankful for all that they offered us and for the amazingly yummy surprise dessert as well. I will definitely be coming back with my girlfriends in the future. TY so much Scuzzi’s💕
Lovely restaurant, went for Valentines day. Had reservations for two, immediately seated. Busy night, so move a bit fast, but expected as they do need to turn tables over. Went off the Valentines set menu so we could have a good idea of their best. It was nice, look forward to going back and trying something different.
We LOVE this place! They are soooo accommodating! The service is amazing! And the food is really good! They don’t disappoint that’s for sure! We usually get the shrimp for the app, and I get chicken parm for the entree my husband changes it up but has always been more than satisfied! Check it out! Thank yall for always taking care of us!
We had the pleasure of having Daniel as a server this evening. He was an impressive young man that we enjoyed talking to. He also took very good care of us. The food was wonderful as well.
We had the most amazing New Years Eve celebration experience!!! Staff was beyond attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back to create many more memories. Food was beyond words, temperature on point, drinks so savory, and dessert the children couldn’t resist and tear into!!! So grateful we took a chance and picked a random restaurant and found Scuzzi’s 1604. Perfect ending to 2025
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Went to a company Christmas party here and it was absolutely flawless. The food was outstandig authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented but what truly made the night special was the service. Mazi and Chloe were phenomenal. Attentive without hovering, warm, professional, and genuinely made our entire group feel taken care of from start to finish. They handled a busy night with ease and a great attitude, which made the evening feel effortless for us. The entire staff was welcoming, the atmosphere was perfect for a celebration, and every detail was handled with care. This place turned a company dinner into a memorable experience. Highly recommend for group events, celebrations, or just a great night out. We’ll absolutely be back.
Brandon was awesome! Knowledgeable, friendly, and very personable! Provided great drink reccomendations and great service, especially when checking to make sure we were satisfied with our drinks! Our steak was nice and juicy too, great sauce. We will ask for Brandon when we return!
Brought my wife for a surprise birthday dinner and, Wow!!! We celebrated her birthday with a scrumptious dinner that would’ve impressed even the pickiest critic. She had the Scuzzi Shrimp; I had the Shrimp Daviola, both of which were magnificent in their presentation and taste. Our server, Dan, was the preeminent host throughout the evening. His easygoing manner immediately instilled confidence and his eye for customer service details never faulted. He made us feel as if we were the most important people around. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was personal yet impeccable, and the ambiance was just right. If you’re searching for a really great place to enjoy a special meal, the Scuzzi’s is the best choice, hands down.
Scuzzi’s is a hidden gem. First time here. Atmosphere was relaxing and very Italian welcoming. Dan knew the wine list and recommended an excellent Moscato to accompany our meal. Chicken, piccata, and chicken Gorgonzola were excellent… well served beautifully & filling. Julian was in training with Dan…. Great mentor as Julian had great table side manner. 5 plus stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 to Scuzzis. 🎊🎉e
We went to this restaurant with two friends, and it was absolutely fantastic! The service was second to none. Our waiter was Ray. He made sure everything that we had was top-notch. He checked on us often, but he was not intrusive. Extremely friendly, great service & fantastic food. Highly recommend this place.
Scuzzi’s Italian Restaurant exceeded all expectations! The food was delicious, but what truly stood out was the outstanding service. Our host, Mazi Enti, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of—even after the restaurant had already closed. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine hospitality made the experience unforgettable. It’s rare to find someone who takes that kind of pride in their work, and Mazi absolutely made us feel valued as guests. Highly recommend Scuzzi’s for both the food and the incredible service! We’ll definitely be back
This Italian restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfectly setting the stage for an incredible meal. The food was nothing short of amazing—every dish was bursting with authentic flavors, and the presentation was impeccable. A huge shoutout to our server, Ricardo, who made the experience truly exceptional. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable time. If you visit, ask for Ricardo—you won’t be disappointed! The combination of outstanding food, stellar service, and a charming ambiance makes this place a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!
I'm not sure how the service could possibly have been better than the food, but the folks here at Scuzzi's are wizards, I guess. I've never been treated better than at Scuzzi's. They really make you feel like an honored guest. The food was better than delicious. Can't recommend enough 11/10!!!
Outstanding Four-Course Experience at Scuzzi’s! We had an unforgettable dining experience at Scuzzi’s. The shrimp with angel hair pasta and the pork chop with potatoes in mango sauce were both absolutely to die for—perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. We ended up indulging in a full four-course meal, starting with delicious bruschetta and artichoke appetizers, followed by a fresh, crisp Caesar salad and a refreshing strawberry and spinach salad. The entrées were simply outstanding, and just when we thought it couldn’t get better, dessert arrived: a silky, rich crème brûlée and a heavenly tiramisu. What truly made the evening exceptional was the service—the waitstaff was incredibly attentive, on point, and made us feel like family. From start to finish, it was a warm, welcoming, and absolutely delicious experience. We’ll definitely be back!
Scuzzi’s Italian Restaurant is the best! I reserved a place for my friends pre-Valentines celebration and they gave us a special room (no extra charge) so we can have a privacy. it was the best place ever. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it an excellent choice for special occasions. We really had a remarkable dining experience from start to finish. I ordered the salad and it was perfectly seasoned, and for the entree, I tried their Atlantic Salmon Picatta with capers and it was skillfully prepared with fresh, flavorful ingredients. The service is phenomenal, the waiters were so attentive, friendly, and accommodating- we will certainly be back soon. -Rhonda D.

This is my first time here. The atmosphere and the service were very nice and satisfied. The server was excellent... He was on point. As far as the food... I order angel hair chicken alfredo. They served me the wrong pasta. They did correct the issue. One bit.... it was bland. No season... no flavor... I didn't enjoy it at all. The server asked and did tell him how I felt. He did offer to remake the plate. He did offer me to order something else on the menu, and it was on the house, and I wasn't going to pay for that either. They did apologize for the mistake and for me not liking the plate. I chose not to order anything because my party was getting ready to leave. The server did notify the manager and had it taken off the ticket. The manager came to me and gave me a gift card and apologized for the bad experience and hope that I would come back and give them a chance to make it right. They even gave me a dessert on the house to make up the experience I had. Overall, I would recommend this place for the service and atmosphere and food....just not the chicken alfredo... The reason why they do get a two star from me because their meatballs as an appetizer were alright.
We had server Dan & he was incredible! the service was the best part of our experience. Just being brutally honest- the scallops had a strong soapy taste, probably because they are wet-packed. & the mashed potatoes were not home made, super disappointing. Redeemable food choices: Meatballs, bread & alfredo were great!

Very tasty! Good service. I really liked it so if I could give it 4.5 stars, I would. We had some yummy wine, calamari, cannelloni, and lobster ravioli and everything was delicious. We will go agai…
It was very pricey for what we got. I could have had a full steak dinner with all the trimmings and then some and honestly wish I had. I shared the app of spinach and artichoke dip with my friend. It wasn’t dip, and the pieces of artichoke were so large it was almost cartoonish in the dish. It could be just me, but when I’ve ordered this elsewhere it’s always well blended and harmoniously the ingredients work together to delight the taste buds, not this one. The ingredients seemed to be dumped unprepared together and tossed in a dish. It was definitely the worst version I’ve had, didn’t taste horrible, but the artichoke wasn’t incorporated at all so it was basically spinach dip with massive chunks in it. I also ordered the lasagna, one of the least expensive dishes on the menu and the flavor was there, but there was no texture to be found it was basically mush. The noodles didn’t have any tooth and despite the decent taste I was disappointed and wishing I’d ordered the shrimp pizza I had on my one other visit several years back. Our service was excellent, Dan was very attentive and checked on us regularly to make sure all was well and that we had what we needed. I found the atmosphere dark personally as I was there with a friend to catch up and so brighter would have been nicer for me, but I can see how it would be very nice for a date night. It isn’t a place I’d recommend for catching up with friends, but I’m sure for a date it would be better suited. I do recommend the shrimp pizza I had the first visit and if you like I was are a bit reluctant about the shrimp (I was pleasantly surprised), I’m sure they have other pizza options as well as other dishes I didn’t try that are just as good.
Service is always excellent. Great ambiance. Food was ok but have had better in the past. They are too good to give up on and we will return. Hope the chicken is not too tough to eat the next visit…
This took me a while to figure out… not sure how this place is so highly rated but they do shove in your face a couple of QR codes after checkout and ask you to please review. So maybe people rate high out of guilt? Here is my honest experience. Be mindful that this is based on a casual dinner with my wife (no splurging), with 3 cocktails and a price tag of $290 plus tip…… Environment: the place is actually pretty nice and even fancy at first glance, then you start seeing all the cut corners. From the cheap paper towels in the fancy paper towel holder in the restrooms (yes, those holders which topically have those paper towels that you can almost take to the beach to lay on), to the wobbly tables and very cheaply printed menus in worn out sheet protectors. You can find many restaurants in town with much nicer settings, higher quality everything, for a lot less money… Food: the food was good, that is it. The fried calamari was pretty good, the bread was fine, and the dishes were ok. I should have taken more pictures… my wife’s tiny stake was plated over a gigantic blob of mashed potatoes. I ordered the Chefs special sea bass that our server Dan recommended. It was good, very fishy for my taste, but it was good. Both the sea bass and the shrimp that came with it were well cooked, etc. the problem I had with it was that it was not great. It was not memorable, and I paid $89 for it… (should have looked at the menu before ordering). For that kind of money, I expect a memorable dining experience. Drinks: the drinks were good, I had two cocktails and my wife had a Martini. No complaints on those. Desserts: this is where everything went sideways (before the bill arrived). I ordered the Creme Brûlée, and I can say without question it was the worse I have had. Gritty and greasy as if it was old and overheated and the butter had separated or something. My wife got the chocolate mousse cake, it was pretty bad. Both were garnished with old, purplish skin with dark seed wrinkly strawberries… Service: Dan was great, I wish he would have stopped by 15 times less so that my wife and I could have enjoyed our conversation. But no major complaints there. Me initially sat at a booth where the table wobbled, so we moved to a regular table where, guess what, the table wobbled… for a place were you are paying more than $100 per person, I would have expected the server to address that. I had to grab a knife from the table next to us and wedge it under it myself. So there it is, my 2-star rating is meant to tell you, this would be an OK place according to the experience we had, for a third of the price. At the cost that this experience came to us… this is definitely not a place we recommend, or a place we will be visiting again. There was only 2 other parties/tables occupied in the relatively huge restaurant the entire time. So we can’t be the only ones not coming back…

Only come here if you like to wait forever for a table and for bland food (over 2.5 hours). The food itself was dry, bland, and completely absent of any flavor. The shrimp and chicken were both overcooked, bland, and dried out as well. We had to ask for salt, just to get some flavor. Butter, garlic, salt, and lemon are pretty easy to put together to get some flavor. Even our 7 year old daughter said, it’s like super dry and has no flavor. A 7 year old olds opinion. They obviously overbook even if you have reservations. They understaff because tons of people are left waiting when there are several open tables. This place is plain awful, easily one of the worst, and I mean worst and way overpriced Italian restaurants in San Antonio. Olive Garden is better. Most of these reviews have to be fake and/or paid for because this place is just plain awful.
