Opinions de Sea Island San Antonio
The best seafood in Texas and great service! The restaurant is very clean and the tables are wiped down before seating. Good prices too.
Great family friendly place. Will return frequently.
I had the grilled shrimp with fried fish and it was very good. Service is good as well. The only issue is parking. I had to go around the restaurant 3 times to find parking. Then when I found one my truck was too long and didn’t fit. There are too many curbside pick up parking spots. They were all empty.
I'm so glad we chose to eat here. We aren't from San Antonio but had ate at one in New Braunfels and it was fabulous, and when my husband asked his buddy for a good fish place him and I both said this place not even knowing we both said it. But yeah all the waitress were nice and even the bus boy was super polite as he helped all the customers, this is how I would want my business to run if I wasn't there, nice, smooth, good , hot and tasty.. Y'all are awesome and we will be back all the way from Seguin!!!!
This place has been around for a very long time. That's because the food is so good. Fried fish and shrimp or grilled. Plenty of choices.
I visit Sea Islands often, but this visit everything was especially good! I was really pleased with the Mexican shrimp cocktail: chopped up chunks of shrimp, octopus, avocado, onion, and cilantro and my favorite - WITH CHIPS! Definitely prefer over crackers! And the lemon pepper fish was definitely on point! Hot and crispy with its light coating..it was perfect! Everything felt like a great value. And big props to the gentleman tending the side room. Always super friendly and helpful! Will definitely be back 👍
My husband and I decided to eat dinner here because I had a birthday coupon. I didn’t catch the cashiers name she was nice but who really stood out to us was Ethan. He was just so sweet and kind. Ethan had wonderful customer service! The whole crew that was working between 8 p.m.-9p.m. was amazing and attentive. We appreciate all of the staff for being so great!! We definitely will be back again!! The food was fresh and hot as well! Thanks for making my birthday meal delicious!
I want to give a huge shoutout and thank you to Leo at this location. This was my first time dining at a shrimp island, and it was an amazing experience! We’re a family of six, and going out to eat can be a bit tricky, especially with a two-year-old on the spectrum. But Leo made everything so easy and enjoyable for us. He noticed us walking in and didn’t want us to have to sit at separate tables. So, he took it upon himself and gathered two open tables and put them together, reserving them for us. When we placed our order, he said we had tables ready to sit down at. That small gesture meant the world to my family and me. It’s those little things that make a big difference. We’ll definitely be coming back, and this place has a lifetime patron. Thanks again to Leo and Ray, the manager, for making us feel seen and welcome. - Justine
The Spicy Diablo fish & shrimp is very delicious with all the vegetables. Very feeling. My go to on the menu.
It has been many years since I have been to “THE ORIGINAL” location on Rector. I live closest to the Bandera Road location and IH-10. Had to pass them both up to get to Rector. This place never fails to impress. Great flavors, balanced seasonings, simple but nice presentation and for someone who has been instructed to “eat more fish”, this satisfies both in selections and flavors. As Sea Island and I are the same age, circa 1965, there is gentle comfort like “coming home”. I loved the brighter decor while still honoring the past with original light fixtures and Jolly Jack always ready with a smile and a fish to welcome you in. Stop by, you won’t be disappointed.
Always great seafood options. Consistent service and great tasting food on every visit.
My wife and I arrived here for a late lunch and both got the Charbroiled Shrimp Po' Boy. It might be the best I've ever had, if not it's dead even with with the Shrimp Po' Boy I had in NOLA. The flavors of the shrimp, sauce, and veggies, the cook, and the freshness were amazing, combine that with the bread and it made for a perfect combination of flavors that made my tastbuds sing hallelujah. The fries were just so so as with most places fries are cooked. Definitely a place you must try.
Got some take out. The service was fast and prompt. They have a separate takeout door and where you order. The food I got was out of this world! I got the “50 year favorites” and the food was so good to include the gumbo, the side of hot beans, and coleslaw. I want to go back and try the chowder which I didn’t pick over the gumbo. It’s hard for all the items to taste good but they were all delicious! Probably tastes better to dine in but I was definitely satisfied with my food even though it was a take out.
As a 55 year old customer, who has been coming here most of my life, I can say this is some of the finest seafood in San Antonio. All these years and I had not tried the crab cakes..or Diablo Cakes...they are amazing. Loaded with fresh crab and no fillers. Quite unexpected but absolutely amazingly delicious. Recommend 100%
I ordered the shrimp plate with fries and hush puppies, and everything was delicious! The shrimp were perfectly fried—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The fries were hot and well-seasoned, and the hush puppies had great flavor and a nice crunch. The service was friendly and fast, and the restaurant had a clean, welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a great spot for a casual seafood meal. I’ll be coming back!
Here in town saw the well lit up sign and said I would stop by and try the food, pulled up to the curb side was greeted by a very helpful and bubbly lady name Yvette great personality and very polite. I wanted to tip her on my card but was told they only take cash tips on curb side. I order the lobster pasta and I gotta say it was not that very good especially for 20.00 my lobster was so rough and like rubber I thought was chewing rubber bands making it hard to swallow as if it would choke me going down the pasta sauce was good and the noodles but the lobster no way so not order this even a hour before they close you will get the rubber bands lol! My strawberry lemonade was great and my server was awesome but yes will I give it a second try sure I had good customer service and a good lemonade to wash it down
My husband and son took me there for Mother's day. The food was absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the grilled lemon pepper fish and shrimp, my son had the kid's chicken tenders and fries, and I had the large fried fish and shrimp platter with spinach and hot green beans. The shrimp was fresh and big, lightly breaded and fried to perfection. The fish was flaky and seasoned perfectly. Love those big hush puppies! Words can't describe the bacon Mac and cheese. The service was knowledgeable and went above and beyond. The young man, Chris, was extremely courteous and helpful. We will definitely be going back soon.
Can't say enough good things about Sea Island. Good affordable seafood, casual atmosphere and great sides including the green beans and my favorite steamed spinach. Lemon pepper fish is always my go-to!
The Sea Island at the Rector location is a great place to eat. All of the employees are friendly and make you feel comfortable. This restaurant is highly recommended.
The food here is amazing, both seafood and non seafood. Shrimp and fish and oysters are great as are the chicken tenders in beef hamburgers. Spinach is the best in town. Everything is good here. My wife, who does not like seafood, loves her food choices here which allows me to indulge in the great seafood.
Came to the original Sea Island to have lunch with my daughter. Instead of ordering my favorited Lemon Pepper Fish, I tried their Ribeye. Oh my goodness!! It was so tender, flavorful and cooked just the way I wanted it!! Definitely coming back and ordering this again! Yummy for my tummy!
Sea Island Shrimp House is located on Rector near North Star Mall. It's a long time San Antonio institution. From the street it doesn't look like there is much parking, but in reality, they have a larger parking lot below the restaurant level. Parking spaces are available for curbside pickup, and hàndicap spaces are available as well as 2 spaces for "seniors," although the signage doesn't explain at what age seniors begin. There are also 3 spaces for anyone close to the entrance, one of which I used at 11:15 AM. I had not eaten at the Shrimp House since before COVID-19. Sea Island rearranged seating when they reopened that I think is better than the original wooden booths. Tables were arranged to provide plenty of room for eating and walking safely. It seemed even more people could dine than originally, though there was more space to walk through. A large, lighted menu is displayed over the cashier. A menu is also available online. Shrimp and salmon can be prepared Greek style, and a special breaded recipe covers calamari. All menu items are reasonably priced but not cheaply cooked. This is definitely an affordable family seafood restaurant. Had the Seafood Platter for dinner. Very filling! I recommend the Grilled Shrimp Platter for lunch.
EVERYONE, from the hostess, waiter, kitchen manager, and the man clearing the tables were absolutely amazing! The hostess was patient and explained the new menu to us, the waiter was kind and brought us our food, to go box, the man clearing the tables next to us thanked us for coming and gave us a warm send off and the kitchen manager was AMAZING! I hadn't said anything, but Gino saw that I hadn't eaten my green beans and when I explained there was an ingredient in them I couldn't eat and hadn't known it was in there until I ordered it, he didn't make me feel bad but made me feel better and offered to replace it. This was by far the best welcome back out of quarantine I've had and I'm so glad I chose this restaurant to venture back out into our world. Thank you W Rector for making this transition absolutely amazing, the food was delicious and your hospitality was heart warming. Social distancing was also very well implemented between tables.
We decided to give this place a try while going through San Antonio this weekend. When you arrive, the place spent look special, the atmosphere is very casual. Don't let you put that off! The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food is fantastic! I got the senior meal with lemon pepper grilled shrimp, Coleslaw, and fried Okra (spend the extra $0.10 - is worth it! ), my sister got the same with potatoes and greenbeans. All the food was great. The hush puppies tasted like homemade. I'll be sure to come back to this place!
The food was ABSOLUTELY amazing. I got the 60th Anniversary Sampler Plater. That way i got to sample a wide variety of the main menu items. It was my 1st visit ever to the restaurant. The man taking my order was patient, engaging, and answered all my questions. Ultimately, he recommended the Anniversary Platter, which I obviously ordered, but I was so impressed with the customer service, I almost forgot I was hungry. LOL!!! Great people + Great Food You won't be disappointed.....
Obviously, lunch hour was packed, but the food is always fresh and terrific and management and staff are always eager to help and please you. How do you recommend it? Ray the manager was exceptional in helping everyone. Recommend coming again
We had a big party (15) and the manager on the floor was very helpful in helping getting our team in tables that he put together. I absolutely love the lemon pepper fish and it delivered as always. Great service great food
Excellent, reasonable priced. We had the fish and shrimp platter and the grilled shrimp on the skewer. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. It's an order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Restaurant was very busy for lunch, wait was a normal time. Would definitely go back.
Had dinner last night & food was excellent as always. We had mariners fish deluxe and grilled shrimp plates with stuffed shrimp and extra hush puppies & food never disappoints. Excellent service from the cashier until food was served. I will definitely be back soon 🍤🌟
Totally enjoyed our meals. It seemed fresh and the spices were good. I had spicy fish and shrimp grilled over rice.
So, we came in to dine on Friday 11/14. As we started to enjoy our meal, the atmosphere went bonkers. There was a couple sitting at the table next (behind)us that was served their meal several minutes after us. It just so happened to be a different lady(red shirt) that served them their meal. She too was kind, friendly and attentive. The lady kindly said "Enjoy your meal" and walked away. A few minutes later the man shouts across the restaurant "HEY! EXCUSE ME!!" to one of the employees that was serving another table at the other end of the restaurant. This caught the attention of the diners near his table. He continued to eat, then got up and walked across the dining area (we were in the back corner) to the kitchen counter. Said something to the kitchen then walked back to his table and sat down. I was thinking he needed butter, lemon, more sauce....something. The lady that served us (dressed in a black shirt) approached his table introduced herself and asked how she could help him? Koodo's to Sierra for the way she handled this customer. He treated her in a rude, belligerent and very degrading way. All of this was over his dislike of the size of his shrimp. She explained that there was really nothing she could do because that is the same size as everyone else's. He demanded larger shrimp or he was not paying. SMH She kindly tells him she will see if the cook can make the shrimp larger and takes his plate away. lol Classic Move Sierra!!! The man loudly says as she is walking off "Hey wait, I want my hushpuppy". (Serious jerk) Sierra obliges. Another freshly made order of shrimp, fish, fries and 2 hushpuppies was brought out to him. He was not happy and demanded the manager. She kindly states "I am the manager!" He let her know she was not worthy of the position and demanded someone more competent than her. Even though she had already taken his ticket and stated that she was going to refund it off his bill. All of this over a $14.00 shrimp and fish platter. Sierra, you conducted yourself in the most kind and professional manner at all times. This man should have been removed from the establishment for his obnoxious behavior. I love Sea Island and this was the 1st time I did not get to enjoy my meal. The gentleman manager that came out started out defending Sierra, but eventually was sitting down with this jerk of a customer shooting the bull. SMH We left aggravated that we were unable to enjoy our meal. Again... A BIG shout out to Sierra!
Ordered through DoorDash, came on time as stated. The fried oysters were a 10/10 as well as the green beans. Large shrimp and fish fillet was a 10/10 as well. Key lime pie was delicious and wasn’t too artificial either. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys good fresh seafood.
I love the smell of seafood as soon as you enter, the blind man walking outside said, good afternoon ladies to which I replied Excuse me sir there isn't any females walking by, I was terrified was there invisible females walking by was this a dream? I awoken to waiting in line. There was an old man placing his order with whom I believed to be his granddaughter. They ordered and I continued thinking of what to fill my stomach with. I chose the deluxe fish sandwich and I was not let down. The size the flavor the 2 sides, oh man. What an amazing dream. I woke up and drove here and am fulfilling my dreams one at a time. Like a dinosaur looking for his final meal before returning to the earth to fuel our vehicles and take us here. What a wonderful journey life is.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an absolutely amazing experience at Sea Island Shrimp House at the Island location! From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming, friendly, and professional. The atmosphere was clean, relaxing, and perfect for a nice seafood meal. We ordered the grilled shrimp and salmon, and both were nothing short of incredible. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned and tender, with a delicious smoky flavor from the grill. The salmon was cooked just right—moist on the inside with a flavorful, slightly crisp outside. Every bite was fresh and satisfying. The sides that came with the meal were also spot on and completed the experience. What stood out most was the consistency in quality. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the chefs really care about what they’re serving. The portion sizes were generous, and we left full and happy. This has become one of our favorite seafood spots. If you’re in the area and craving delicious, well-prepared seafood, Sea Island Shrimp House is the place to go. Highly recommended!
Great food, great service! I loved coming here. It’s was better than I expected cause it was so packed when I arrived. The wait time for a table was really short, under 10 minutes. I will definitely be coming back here in the near future. Good Job! The Lemon Pepper Fish & Shrimp is a must order if it’s your first time here!
5 star services for Damon! He is super friendly and you can tell he loves his job! Anytime we needed something extra he was always willing to go above and beyond!

These might just be the best huspuppies on the planet. \nGreat staff who helped us order.
The stuffed shrimp plate is so delicious! The deviled stuff crab and shrimp just melt in your mouth ! The panko breading is light not to over power the crab and shrimp!

Went for lunch a few weeks ago. Then service was great. Friendly staff and clean. My favorite side dish is their souther greenbeans! lol
Excellent!!! Bandera & 1604 location is awesome! Olin the manager is very attentive & is always looking out for the customers. Today we came in for oysters great selection, value & atmosphere
Love the fresh shrimp plus the gumbo. If I am in a rush, I never go at lunch. This can be a very busy place. You have to try the shrimp
A real treat- foods tasty, right price and service is great.
If you're craving seafood and don't want to break your wallet, I'd suggest Sea Island Shrimp House. They have many selections. As my first time here, I tried the fried shrimp & fish with french fries and coleslaw. They also give you hush puppies. The experience was good for a casual place but the experience could be better.
This restaurant had dine-in available as well as to-go and curbside pickup. There was some sitting space, but looking for any distancing, this is not your place. The food was good but not super-hot when it arrived. The place was clean. Outdoors seating consists of two picnic tables that can seat up to 8 people. The line to order moved quickly.
This place can be MADDENING!Great food, good people, but God help you if there’s a line of customers waiting to order! There’s Two registers to place your order but management is TOO CHEAP to staff both registers - to accommodate a crowd. I see a line waiting to order at one register and I turn around and go somewhere else! I don’t have the patience to put up with it! It’s highly inconsiderate of customers!
My first time here. Green beans were good. Shrimp was bland. Cat fish tasted a bit fishy. Cole slaw was dry, lacking as were the fries. A bit disappointed in general though the sangria was on point.
Good sea food. Have been eating here for years. Building is dated and chairs are metal without cushions so not very comfortable. Prices are reasonable.
I Went there with mi familia and we all had a good meal. Staff were very attentive and efficient. The shrimp and corn left a little to be desired but otherwise the meal was great. It gets pretty crowded but that’s just a sign of good business. We miss jolly jack!!!
I made a 1 star review earlier ago but after the manager Jacob saw the situation about my shrimp salad being bad he apologized and told me to get one on the house I gotta say this was better then before and the best shrimp salad I ever had!!! I’m only giving it a 4 star because the cashier forget to give me my utensils but other than that great!
Went for a Mexican shrimp cocktail to find out they didn't make them anymore. Ordered something called a Shrimp Campechana. It was good. Had plenty of shrimp, but, was lacking cilantro. I also had a piece of fried fish. That was tasty but feel apart too easily. My friend had Ceviche. She was not satisfied with it. It was too tarty.
First time here. Great service. The manager checks up on you to make sure everything is good. Really enjoyed the food. Was craving fried seafood and Sea Island didn't disappoint. The stuffed shrimp was awesome. I need to go back and just get a plate of the stuffed shrimp, it's that good. Great sides, too, especially the green beans.
I've never had a bad dish at this location. It's always clean and service is fast and friendly. Expect a longer wait if you order salmon though. Do try the dill sauce instead of tartar especially if you did get salmon. Great place to grab seafood during Lent because they're consistently good throughout the year.

Staff lacks customer service, rude. Fish was not fresh, might have been reheated cause it was tough. Hush puppies were not fresh.
I liked the place just not enough combos of broiled seafood. Like I love oysters, coconut shrimp and some kind of fish and I don't like fried. So I ended up settling with all fried. Another thing I didn't like was u had to get up 2 or 3 times to refill your drink. I think Red Lobster is still my personal favorite. But the price at this restaurant was pretty good. So I guess if u don't care about broiled or oysters this is the restaurant for u. Oh ya the hush puppies are amazing and I don't even like hush puppies lol.
It took 25 minutes for me to receive my order. By the time my food was delivered, it arrived at room temperature. The staff wasn't very friendly or hospitable. I ordered the diable shrimp and fish which was decent. Likely, I won't return to this location due to the bad service being a recurring issue.
Not what it used to be. Margaritas were not good at all. No coconut shrimp. Food took forever then lukewarm. We used to love this place, but now it costs more and quality has suffered.
My husband and I, along with another couple eat here (Rector Drive) frequently. Usually the food is great. This time I was very disappointed! I ordered the Aransas Platter plus 6 extra oysters. Nothing was good except the coleslaw! The oysters cost $8.50, they were like overcooked rubber bands! The hush puppies weren't even good. I think the frying oil was old. Anyway, the manager did deduct the $8.50 for the oysters.
The Good: Prices here are quite reasonable. The portions are also more than adequate. Decent fountain drink and beer selection. Definitely look into the fish fillet sandwich, it's massive and quite tasty. The Bad: The fries were dry and tough. The fried oysters were absolutely disgusting, I really hope I don't get sick.
Sea island has always been my go to for seafood. However, the last two times I have been there the sides were good, the hush puppies -as well as the fish had no flavor. No matter what entree I tried, it was flavorless. I mentioned this to several of my friends who eat at Sea Island and they all agreed that Sea Island fish is sorely lacking in flavor. Too bad because they use to be the bomb when it came to fish. Guess I’m gonna have to start going to Laguna Madre…less portions but the fish has FLAVOR!!!
Let me just start off by saying I'm not a sea food person. However I do enjoy a good shrimp ceviche or shrimp cocktail. I ordered a "Campechana" which is similar to a shrimp cocktail. The only difference is that it has celery. So more like a virgin bloody Mary with shrimp. My boyfriend ordered the "Spicy Diablo Shrimp and Fish". He rated the food as delicious and he would definitely come back to try other items on their menu. We also ordered this alcoholic beverage for 6.99. Tastes like Hypnotic and raspberry Kool aid. Kids eat free on Thursday with a purchase of an adult entree.
It's alright. Definitely white people seafood, there's nothing unique about it. It's fresh and okay tasting. My lemon pepper fish and shrimp was drenched in lemon pepper which took away from the natural taste. The lemonade is amazing and so sweet, while the hushpuppy appetizer only comes with four. I did not like that they plated the fish and shrimp drenched in lemon pepper above the fries which got all soggy and lemoney tasting.
Stop in for lunch on a Sunday. Had a brief wait to order at the counter. They offer a wide variety of seafood choices with reasonable prices. Most plates come with a choice of sides and some hush puppies. I had the shrimp lunch and others had the fish lunch. I had a half-dozen modest-sized shrimp with coleslaw and rice. I like the coleslaw, the rice was okay, and the shrimp were tasty but not exceptional. My companion was not terribly thrilled with her fish lunch... Overall a good value with average cuisine. Some adult beverages are available, and the atmosphere is distinctly casual.
It's okay not the best but it's way too expensive the Crab Legs and Shrimp mom ordered for me was fine mom's plate that she ordered was the spicy fish and Shrimp plate and it's not that spicy but it's alright but mom and I would never go here again and plus not all people finish their food What they do Is finish and leave it on the table. And again it's not the best but it's not worth your money at all.
We took a family member for her birthday. The food was good and as we finished we were gonna have a small desert for her b-day. It was during lunch time and as we were talking about to capture the memory with a picture a man came up to us and asked us to leave . I guess they needed the table. It was a small table w 3 of us. We will never be able to capture that moment again . I have never been asked to leave a restaurant because they needed the table Terrible customer service
The ambiance is non-existent. It's a plain, cold atmosphere. But the food makes up for it. I do think they would benefit by makeover. Get a designer in there who knows how to warm up the place.
Had a lunch here with a friend, first time going.. The atmosphere was Great! Food was good. I wish hush puppies came with the meal. Line was long, wish they had waiters and waitresses. And the reason I'll never go back, is because the " handicap" restroom, is not big enough for a scooter/ mobile wheelchair/ or electric wheelchairs. I couldn't even use the woman's restroom!
Good for and plenty of it, the only downside is the service. Everytime we go someone gets their food way after everyone else, the last time we went everyone was finished eating and my wife still did not have her food. They said they messed up the order and had to remake it. No apology no refund just we remade it and it will be out soon.
The ordering process at the restaurant went well - but execution did not go so well. I placed my order and my friend placed his after mine. We paid separately. At the table a few minutes late, fewer …
shrimp in Tuscan pasta Alfredo was \novercooked. \nI am from New Hampshire. New Hampshire \nAnd Maine and Massachusetts have much,\nmuch better seafood obviously. It was\npicked up. \n\n.
This place was just okay. The service was fine. The food didn't wow me like I had hoped. I got a margarita and it tasted very salty. I'd be willing to come again and try something else.
We come here regularly (aka every week). The place is fine, there are a few standout employees. Today we get to the front of the line and are told it's a 30 minute wait for grilled items (their men…
The people were great, but it took a while to get our food. The onion rings and okra were barely warm, the fried shrimp was a little better, but the shrimp feast was 👎. The hushpuppies were good though. They only refunded $3 for all the bad food. Won't return to this location.
Yoooo ya’ll got to stop with the overpriced foolishness. Imitation crab meat, thick breaded okra, colossal fish sandwich full of lettuce, shoulda called it the fish salad sandwich. Worst Gumbo I ever had. I been here twice was going to bring my Mother-in law, oh no not now not ever. Not good value for what you are getting. Truly basic, nothing special.
Not like others, I have visited. People there nice enough. Explain everything to me. But was a fast pace restaurant. Very loud more like a assembly line. Food was prepared ahead of time, so it's not hot. I understand why. The whole time I was there. Line outside of door. They're very efficient. Lots of people getting there food at the counter & u know how they get. I ate only half my plate. I will not be going back.
Was with a co-worker in the area at lunch today. He picked the restaurant, and I've seen this location so many times but haven't been venturing out until lately. so enitially I thought this was a good pick. Unfortunately, I didn't have a good first experience. Keeping it simple, I ordered a lunch meal and didn't receive it until over 20 minutes after my co-worker received his plate. I tried to encourage him to eat his food before it got cold, but he didn't want to be rude and patiently waited. Which wasn't until the server realized I was still waiting. He rushed to address the issue and came back stating that the plate would be out soon and that someone would be by to talk to me. To apologize? To maybe comp the meal? I'll never know because the only person I saw was him later returning with my plate. With the whole hour we had for lunch, I was left with 15 minutes to eat my then freshly cooked meal and run to my account that I was down the street from, but 10 minutes late to because of this. Maybe i should've taken it to go and eaten it in the truck? Or not have gone here for lunch? My coworker apologized that this was my first experience. I stuffed my food down soo fast and ran. I didn't even get a photo to post. Soo fast, it didn't even click in my mind till later. Wish this could've been a better story, a better review, but this is it, sad to say. Update: 5/28 I gave the restaurant a 2nd shot this afternoon despite never getting an email response from the email given on this review. I've been joking with my co-worker about going again, and we've talked about that day. Today, I was in the area and went again. This time was a little better, but it still took them 20 mins (better than last time) to bring my plate, and it wasn't even hot. Seemed as if it had been sitting before it was served. I had ran into my boss, who swore the fish tasted great. I ordered a Sea Food Platter, and the fish was not. It didn't have any flavor. I liked the shrimp and these little shrimp balls that I don't know what they were called. But yeah, 20 mins to be served and 5 min to eat and had to take my sides of fried okra to go and eat it on the road.
My husband and I had lunch here today ( 12:15 ish) we have been customers for about 20 years. When we got our food, Jerry was not polite at all. When I asked if I could please have some ranch, he replied “ how much more do you want?” My understanding is how can you give us more of something you have not given us. Our tray had 2 cocktail sauces and 4 tartar sauce. My husband said 2, and he only brought 1. I can understand if you are having a bad day but no need to take it out on customers. I usually don’t leave negative reviews but this is not how a customer should be treated. Food was awesome and the boy who took our order was very polite.

I worked at this Sea Island in the the eighties and went there consistently until around 2005 when we moved. Over the past twenty years whenever in San Antonio it was place we had to visit. During ou…
I give it a 5/10 The food is fairly good. The rice is dry and very stale, not fresh
Very disappointed in the service and quality of food at this location. Sea Island has always been a favorite and rave about it to visitors but unfortunately that has ended. For a small simple order, My wait time to get food to go was more than 30 minutes. And then the shrimp was burnt. Spinach was cold and not as tasty as in the past. Will not be going back.
Visited Sea Island today for the first time in a long time. We had the worst visit today. We have been patrons for a long time, but we probably hadn't been in 2-3 months. We ordered the grilled flounder and shrimp and they apparently forgot about our order due to shift change, according to one of the men that works there. We finally got our food after waiting 45 minutes and to our disappointment the food was cold. Every restaurant has an off day, but their service today was not what we have come to expect. I hope Sea Island is not okay doing food service this way.
Do not eat here ordered meals with daughter and salad was brought out soggy and brown waste of money. Worst service recieved one plate fries hard cold horrible ....GO ELSE WHERE U HAVE BEEN WARNED! ! Look at attached photos fresh salad ??? Yeah rite and did fries just get weighed at 1oz ?
We stopped in for dinner after a long day. The restaurant didn’t seem to be too busy as we walked right up to the counter to order. After ordering and paying close to $20 a person we looked for a table. Table options were fairly limited as there were several that were still dirty. We did find one and sat down but had to dry it ourselves as it was still wet. That’s a turnoff for sure. There were maybe 8 other tables that had people and we patiently waited for our food. I say patiently as it took 25 minutes for our food to arrive!!! As we got our food I realized that another table that had gotten there maybe 5 minutes earlier was already eating. My best guess was our food sat waiting to be brought out. Why would I think that? The fish was barely warm and the shrimp were almost cold. Almost cold grilled shrimp is not appetizing at all and one of the shrimp was roped in half. The onion rings are anything but fresh and are 100% frozen guaranteed. They were cold and had zero crunch and even less flavor which made the almost $2 upgrade ridiculous. Even catchup couldn’t help those onion rings. The fries were also cold with no crunch and no seasoning or flavor. We ate what we had and left extremely disappointed. Best word to describe the food…yuck.
