There was a Planetarium offering a tour of our Universe lead by 'Major' Tom. It was Groovy Gr8 & we got to handle an ancient meteorites before stepping outside to view (through telescopes) Jupiter & 4 of Jupiter's moons & then the Orion Nebula. I've been on Mother Earth, Terrafirma for me at 6 decades & I'd not seen any of these heavenly bodies before last night. Thanks 'Major' Tom & SBVC Valley College 😎✌🏽☮️
Has allot of class choices to pick from has great food joints around and allot to do if your class hasn't started the Art teacher is amazing here plus it's The Colton college and the Pro Swapmet is right in front of the school what more can you ask for.
KVCR WAS GREAT.

The place has minimal parking. You have to wait for a spot. You may have to park on street curb.
I went to this school to take science classes. The campus itself had beautiful vegetation and a beautiful pond. The library was very helpful during midterms & final exams. The success center has hard working passionate staff to help students with tutoring. There's a nice looking gym I never went inside to but it looks nice from the outside. Their cafeteria food is really good, especially breakfast burrito. Parking is not free but not expensive either. Also really good restaurants around the school.
Area around the campus isn't fantastic, but the campus itself is gorgeous and I've enjoyed all of my classes in my 4 semesters there. Some of them are actually too easy. Lots of summer and online calsses and other resources to help you succeed. My biggest complaint though, like others have mentioned, is that the counseling department is pretty unreliable. They've given me good/correct advice maybe 50% of the time. Do your own research before going to see them and even get a second opinion from another counselor. If I had listened to one of the counselors there I would've ended up staying a whole extra year. Also parking can be a bear, but on the plus they never enforce their parking permits.
Amazing place of learning. I came for welding. I had Mr.John King as our teacher and instructor but he was much more than that. He was a mentor and cared about each of us who actually were there to learn. The school is amazing and the staff are very helpful. Your never too old to go back to school. I recommend this place completely. 👌
I first had a sour attitude about attending this school since it was never an option on attending swell as just graduating and expecting the environment to be "high school 2.0". When I attended my very first semester. my attitude changed to neutral as it seemed my expectations were far from true. As I am halfway completed with my degree as well as a year away from getting started with my transfer process, it took me a lot of realization that sbvc is just a college. Despite the surrounding location being in a not so nice area, the campus itself is gorgeous and very calming, unless there are events being held. The counselors are encouraging and want everyone to succeed. The professors that I have had treat me with respect. So far, I am mentally well to attend my courses no matter what I am going through. I'm glad I gave this college a chance as it is preparing me for the career field and a smooth transition to a 4 year university.

I read a lot of reviews that said counselors are really hard to meet with. When I went there, last school year, I was able to easily walk in and meet a counselor that same day. All the counselors I did meet with were extremely helpful and got me through the school relatively quickly. All the teachers I had were very professional and some actually had experience teaching at well known universities, like USC, UCLA or UCR. And for the quality of the education, I am extremely impressed. I have recently transferred to Cal Poly Pomona from this school and I feel completely confident with my abilities there. Even though Valley is in the Semester system and Cal Poly is in the quarter system I do not feel rushed. At Valley I was also taught many scientific and mathematical concepts that many of my class mates in Cal Poly don't understand quite as well as I do. Overall Valley is a very good school. From what I heard from other community college students, I would say Valley is one of the best school out there.
Been coming here for travel Basketball games over weekends. It’s a nice place, even considering the location. There’s always plenty of parking too, but it can get far if you don’t plan properly.
I used to make fun of people going to this school but in reality, it's not a bad campus. There are some very awesome professors here that obviously are passionate about their subjects and do well to see you understand the material. Then there are some that you can tell are just here for the paycheck. They are doing better to see that there are classes available to fit your schedule, so even if you are a full-time working adult, you can get the classes your need with minimal sacrifice to your everyday life. I do advise that you do deep research on every professor you take. Some have a record for being unacceptably rude to students and treat grown people like they're teenagers. Not all of them are like this but the number is growing as seasoned professors are retiring. Just a heads up. If you're looking to get a quick associates, this is the place. They have a number of programs here and plenty of transfer opportunities to get a bachelor's degree. There are some programs here that you can't find anywhere else. Take advantage.
Be sure to keep book or anything that validates courses you take. Years after graduation the college lost their book for year I took classes and upper university had me take classes all over at another Junior college. Having AA degree from here was useless because of their records and my book was stolen. They refused many request.

I attended here from 1991-1998 and earned my first AA. SBVC was a great start to my academic career. Now, there has been declining enrollment, not unaffected by the Pandemic. While professors remain the bright spot, it appears that student services, in general, leaves much to be desired. Unfortunately, there exists much unnecessary 'red tape' in getting expedited services. Policies are stuck in the 1990s. Counselors are NEVER available. 30 years ago, there were always 2 counselors working nights who would see students until 7pm on a walk-in basis. What the hell happened? Beautiful campus with new buildings; but this place is a shell of itself. It gives the impression that this school does not care about students. So disappointing.

This college was great for a start. Some professors (not all) just care about a paycheck rather than helping students. Some of us had to self-teach ourselves due to lack of help from professors. It is very difficult to reach out to a counselor or even get an appt. with one if any! The campus itself is amazing and big. Many upgrades and nice spots to just walk, study, or hang out. Parking can be challenging but available if you don't mind walking. Overall, it is a great school and affordable if you qualify for financial help. If we can get appointments with counselors at any time of the day, that would be awesome as some of us work and hardly have mornings or time to see one on their schedule. Please make hours more flexible for those who cannot afford to miss a day of work, thank you.

Professors are great here (under appreciated), most people here are cool. Parking can suck. Counselors can help or screw you over. In my honest opinion the administrators can run this campus better.

I only have negative feelings associated with this place. When I was applying straight from high school, I did not connect with anybody there as most of the people who attend are older. It was very confusing trying to apply and find out all of the resources available to me. All of the counselors were always booked and none of them ever really helped me or even seemed to care. All that mattered to the counselor was that I had registered for classes. No wonder the drop out rates here are so high! Also never had a teacher who seemed to care about their students. They all have an idea that students are nothing but a number and they are just there to hand out papers and grade. Other school are way better and much more interactive. The change is literally day and night. What's up with that San Bernardino? I do not recommend this place to new students at all. Awful first experience. Orientation day is also a big joke. Let's not even begin to talk about the bad neighborhood.
The counseling office and financial aid office workers are VERY unhelpful. I DO NOT recommend going to Valley, unless you are ready to help yourself because there is really no worker there to help you succeed. The students have been more helpful than the staff, and that is only because they too have struggled with the same issues and lack of help given. Valley does not even know what programs they offer, I have had many counselors say "we offer that program here, are you sure?" What school does not know what they offer? Also they make you take classes you do not need, setting you back because you find yourself taking unnecessary courses. Only "good" thing about Valley is that you save money otherwise it is an absolute waste. Professors that I have had are pretty great and caring. More caring than other workers and staff at Valley. Only choose Valley if you are absolutely ready to be completely independent and on your own.
The financial aid office screwed me over badly to where they never released my promise waiver on time to where I could pay for my classes at the very least. They did this 4 years straight to where they had the nerve to terminate my financial aid this year when it’s all their fault. They never replied to any emails or anything and never knew when funds would be released as if all students could just pay for their classes up front. That’s the whole reason we qualified for financial aid in the first place. Financial aid “counselors” barely would respond to me and are no help. They’d always send me to talk to the financial aid office when they always acted clueless themselves. They realize this is students lives, money, and future on the line with their shenanigans. I feel like this college needs to be reported for their negligence and unprofessionalism in their staff.
My Veteran husband has been trying to sign up for classes, but the system has somehow deleted all of his applications and information on the portal not once not twice but three times therefore delaying his access to registering for classes. Once we passed that hurdle the counselor who he's had multiple appointments kept on changing his school plan and then the frustration of him trying to sign up on his own not understanding the whole process of college and how many credits he needed to enroll in, and there's a glitch in the system that the staff keeps on apologizing for and keep on calling IT and we've been in the veteran center over four times now and they tell him that if he doesn't get it correct by tonight he's gonna be stuck paying for classes out-of-pocket and it's a total nightmare. For a veteran, you think that this process would be less stressful for them but it's done nothing but activate their PTSD and stress, thank you very much to all the staff there who have done absolutely nothing but make someone who wants to educate themselves feel like it's impossible at this school. I don't get it. Does your school not want to make money and enroll people into this college, I applied for this college and never got a student ID number because of some glitch in the system.... how has your IT team not figured this out yet? It's costing you guys thousands of dollars worth of enrollment. You guys are a business and you're teaching people how to run businesses in the future and how to be professionals with degrees Yet, it seems like no one here knows how to run a business., kind of makes me weary of getting a degree here. And please don't reply to this message telling me to contact the school so you guys can fix it because I've been contacting the school in person the last 4 days and they have not been able to fix anything.
Joke of a school. Highly unprofessional staff and students. Go here if you want to be degraded and unappreciated. I hope they found some new leadership by now. Find better opportunities.
My grandson to be gave his teacher a 3 months notice that he was getting married on a specific date. His teacher had scheduled a test on that date and would not allow my grandson to take it at an earlier or later date. Get a zero if he wasn't there. Have a granddaughter who goes to Yale and she is attending the wedding. Yale gave her a whole week off and worked with her studies schedule. SBVC supports this teachers" decision. What does this say about caring about the student. This is a real life situation and thankful he wasn't ill or hospitalized.
