Blaze is by far the best of the build your own pizza type places. I have tried all of the other places like Blaze and to me, Blaze is absolutely the best. Their choice of ingredients is so much better and is always fresh, their cauliflower crust is also better than anywhere else that I have had yet, their salads are very good, and their pesto garlic is to die for. I recommend trying this once: ask for classic or spicey sauce in the center of your pizza and then ask them to brush the garlic pesto on the outside (the crust). I've had people who were skeptical when I first brought them because they first wanted to try it plain. Once they tried the garlic pesto on the crust, there was no going back to plain. Everyone raves about it. I also add arugula to it AFTER it comes out of the oven, but that part may not be for everyone unless they like arugula a lot.

hands down my favorite pizza place! i love how much i can personalize my order because i am a weirdo who eats pizza without cheese. i also appreciate the variety of toppings available. my favorites are artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and arugula, and i get to have unlimited amounts of it on my pizza!! well, as much as it would fit on my pizza-mountain. they also have at least 6 meats available all the time too. i enjoy rotating between combinations of different meats. my favorite meat combination of the month is salami with italian sausage and chicken — with extra red sauce! just to make things even better, they have the half-box that fits exactly half a pizza for when i want to save some for later!

I did a build your own pizza and it came out in no time. The portion size was large but filling for a good, hearty lunch. I was so amazed by how little time it took for the pizza to be made. Delicious!

Nice pizzas, fresh ingredients, but service gets bad when the place is filled with people. 4/5

Ordered the build your own pizza. The pizza crust was not crisp like usual but on the soft side with a lot of black powder on the bottom like maybe oven hadn't been cleaned. I have gone to many Blaze restaurants throughout many states and have never had my fingers covered in like black soot. The one time I have left a Blaze not satisfied

ive always had great service here. me and my partner come here for dinner dates price is roughly 20$ for a build your own pizza and a soda so not horrible or very pricey. but we come back here one every 4 months or so

Blaze was amazing. The crust was like no other. I love the brick oven style, and it wasn't super crispy but crispy enough. I opted for the spicy chorizo, which is vegan and piled on the veggies. I also had vegan cheese. I do wish they had additional vegan "meat" choices. The pizza was still good. The restaurant was spacious and clean. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather on their patio. The staff was friendly and explained to us our options since it was my first time. I was pleased with my meal. I would visit again.

Choose-your-own-ingredients pizza place has a good selection of meats, vegetables, and cheeses to choose from. There are also a few pre-set combinations or 1-item, 2-item ones available if you don’t want to choose. There’s plenty of inside and outside seats. The only downside is the outside seats are very, very dirty. If you see them, you would immediately worry about the sanitation of the outside tables and the rest of the restaurant.

This was me and my family’s second time at Blaze Pizza. We had a good first experience but the second time was not so great. We ordered our pizza to go this time(whereas the first time was dine in) and when we picked it up, our pizza was cold and burnt. We aren’t too far away from blaze pizza and went to pick it up at the time it stated it would be ready so I don’t get how our pizza got cold that fast. If you’re considering eating here and have never tried blaze pizza before, I’d suggest dining in and eating there while it’s hot and freshly made.

I'd give this four stars if it weren't so noisy. But it's so noisy you can't have a conversation. That makes it at best a place for a quick bite but not a comfortable meal. That's a pity because the pizza is really very good in flavor. I like the fact that it's one price for as many toppings as you wish. They serve only one size, 11 inches, so we had two pizzas for two people. They offer several crust choices, the thin original, which doesn't have much flavor, a thicker crust, plus Paleo and cauliflower options. I forgot to take a photo at the restaurant, but photographed the two slices I brought home.

I arrived at Blaze Pizza on Balboa at 7:00pm. I walked out of the store at 7:56 with my pizza. There were maybe 10 people in front of me. It took about 40 minutes to get to the front of the line. As I got closer I noticed for every person ordering from the line, the staff put 5 extra slips for on line perchases after that persons order. The line wasn't moving because they were making pizzas for online purchases 5 to every order they took from people in line. They could not service the people in line because of the online purchases. I would avoid this store. The customers that come in the door do not seem to be very important to the restaurant. There is a great pizza place across balboa, that respects their customers. Oh, they gave my pizza to someone else and gave me someone else's.

For takeout, two eleven inch original crust two item pizzas. I ordered them online on the app. I was very impressed with the ordering and the options.The ordering allowed. It's definitely really cool if you like to build your own pizza, I would recommend it. The pizza itself was tasty. But this crust was so incredibly thin, it was shocking. I would almost go as far as to say paper. Thin, because it was so thin, it was not crunchy, and that took away from the experience that was really disappointing. Having been in new york and tried original thin crust pizza, as well as other locations in San Diego that have great thin crust, this is a swing and a miss with this crust. The other ingredients are great.If they could get the crust right, they would get five stars all the way across. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very mid. Kind of sad because it was empty, but i'm sure it can be acceptable with a group. The service was very mid. Nothing to complain about, but nothing especially exceptional either.

This place was weak. Food was just average. Staff was bordline unhelpful. They ran out of plates and a few other things. Water dispenser had to basically be man handled to get it to work. I went in with zero expectations, having never heard of this place, left with a bad taste. For the amount pizza places in SD, you can find something better. I wouldn't go here again, nor would I recommend it to friends and family.

Im trying to be mean to the kids working . But, Needs to be cleaner . More organization . Better customer service . One of the kids working burned three pizzas in 10 minute span and another dropped a pizza . It wasn’t even busy .
