Everything was so delicious 😋 and the lady taking care of us was super sweet! I'll definitely visit again, it's a must to eat here! 🥰

My daughter is a self proclaimed bonchon efficiando and we've been to them in our travels all over the US and internationally. This store was super busy but we got out take out order in about 15 mins. Staff were friendly. The resturant was kinda dark inside but who can complain when the chicken is so yummy. The resturant is in the back of an L shaped strip mall full od other resturants.

I am not a big fried chicken person but this is AMAZING. The chicken is delicious, crunchy, juicy and well-seasoned. We will definitely be going back. Update: 2nd time in 7 days. I need to exercise!

We had the half and half traditional wings( spicy and soy garlic), seasoned fries and popcorn shrimp. It was very good. I recommend it trying it!

Pros: * Amazing Chicken; recommend the Soy Sauce one * Delicious Fries * Attentive Servers * Good Atmosphere Cons: * N/A Extra: * Parking lot gets busy/full quickly * Spicy means spicy!

Definitely holds up to its reputation, the fried chicken was amazing. Both sauces were delicious, I had it with the seafood fried rice. Definitely going back to try other entree’s

Workers were attentive from the time we walked in (party of 2). Service was pretty quick like, ordering food, drinks and the time it took our food to come out. I had the Japchae + Bulgogi Tacos + Kimchi and my partner had the 10 piece chicken wings + pot stickers. Kimchi gave me nostalgia back when I had it growing up in Hawaii — soo ono! Even when we had a question about the glaze on the chicken wings (absolutely recommend), I believe the manager Paul came out to explain the process and to clarify how we wanted our order done. First time checking out this restaurant and y’all have two more forever customers. Mahalo!

Bonchon has become a strong local favourite for my sister, my roommate, and me. We dream about their fried chicken! We tried their new flavour last time, but the original soy garlic and spicy are still the best. What we’ve tried off the rest of the menu like pork buns and the salmon avocado ball has been just okay, so we mostly stick to the half and half chicken combo, though my sister also likes to order the tteokbokki sometimes.

Love their Korean fried chicken and Tteokbokki. Spicy flavor is my favorite! I would say their fried chicken is the best in SD!

September 2023 - Looking forward to visiting again soon! The BEST Korean fried chicken! Fried rice was awesome! Great service!! Fun atmosphere and good service!

This food is amazing! I am obsessed! It is not overpriced for what you get. The Korean tacos are my favorite, but the fried chicken and potstickers are great too. I've tried several other things from here and they are all delicious. The service is quick and you don't have to wait long for your order. I recommend this 100%!

This Korean fried chicken is absolutely fire! Literally the spicy will give your tongue a nice burn, but still soo flavorful! That why I got a half and half order. Half spicy and half mild. Both are extremely delicious. These chicken wings are very big and meaty as well. When you bite into it you will get a beautiful crunch followed by some juciy chicken meat! Don't forget to order a side of fries and Pepsi to complete the deal!

My fav korean fried chicken place since 2019. I love everything about their dishes. I am pretty much a regular customer here during the pandemic and their wings really make my day. I get their spicy chicken wings with coleslaw and their tteokbokki is very spicy but we love it

Woooooooow Double fried chicken i have never heard of that but it was amaze balls. My friends and I ate sooooo much food the chicken is their main thing we got a sweet on and a spicy order .... Both were super delicious. We went on a Wednesday and the glasses of Asahi were only $1. Needless to say, i drank.more than i wanted to and they have soju too (too add i drank too much of that as well) but the food was very very very good. Can't wait to go back

One day, I was desperately craving spicy fried chicken and this place SATISFIED my crazed craving perfectly! I recommend going for lunch, during a week day, to take advantage of the decently priced lunch specials and also it's much less crowded, plus you get attentive service. The SPICY option chicken skin is crispy and delicate on the outside with a sweet, spicy finish that delightfully lingers on the palate while you're driving away. You may need a craft beer to counter act that spice depending on your tolerance! The chicken meat is super juicy on the inside. We also enjoyed the loaded fries which were super hot and yummy. The Takoyaki could have been warmer/ better but I didn't care cause the chicken was so on point. I saw lots of people picking up to go orders but I recommend enjoying a meal fresh from the kitchen. They have big TVs and fun music playing in the background. I highly recommend this place!

SO CRISP! My favorite KFC (Korean Fried Chicken), you can tell they paint each wing with sauce. Every wing is well sauced but you won’t need a bath after eating this chicken. The spicy has heat but it’s still enjoyable. The soy garlic is my favorite. The incredible crisp-ness of the chicken shines through. Always get the pickled radish for that refreshing palate cleanser. I like to get my spicy with the tteokbokki. Everything is cooked perfectly and they are generous with the rice cakes and fish cakes.

No photos because I was too busy eating. Its hard find a place that is open late that isn't fast food, that is untill I discovered ✨Bonchon✨. I got the 3 item special (I chose spicy wings, post stickers, & fried rice), tacos, and seasoned fried zucchini (with a soda to drink). Oh my goodness!!!! This food was so good! I was so happy eating it. I love food is all I could say while eating. There was enough for me to take home as left overs too. The people were super cool too. Thank you for the mouth watering food. I hope to come back and try more food soon.

Great experience at Bonchon. The $40 dine-in combo with wings, bites, and a dish was a great value. The soy garlic wings were perfectly crispy and flavorful. We also tried potstickers tossed in yangnyeom sauce which had a nice spicy kick and paired great with the wings. The coleslaw balanced out the fried food nicely, and the bone bucket they provide is a thoughtful touch. Service was smooth and the food came out hot and fresh. Looking forward to coming back.

This place has more than enough space for everyone who comes in to eat. It’s a cute relaxing atmosphere with tvs all around, and delicious food options. I love the happy hour prices for beers! The food was super yummy too! Would definitely come here again.

Excellent chicken wings and drumsticks. We got the small mixed wings and drumsticks with the new yangnyeom sauce. They were excellent, very juicy and crispy. Update: Got pork potstickers, pork belly kimchi bowl, and small mixed wings and drumsticks with the new yangnyeom sauce. Everything was very good.

Delicious late food!! Cold draft beer! Cold sparkling water! Spacious and low-key atmosphere, great servers. So far my favorite is the pork bun, but the gyoza and crispy juicy strips were fantastic too. Very good sauce flavors.

Definitely a nice relaxing Lunch. Came on a Wednesday and stayed for dessert. Had to try the Kkabaegi. Basically cinnamon and sugar twisted donuts. They where perfectly light, airy and Delicious. See the photos, as they where much larger than I expected! 4.99 for 2 and another .99 cents for the cream sauce. I was not too particular about the cream sauce but it was worth a try. The flavor to me seems like the milk after eating a cinnamon cereal. Smooth and creamy though so worth a try for yourself. Now on the the actual food!. I ordered the half and half chick wing lunch special. The spicy was infact spicy. The flavor was good but was a little bit too spicy for me after living in Utah for the last few years. It is definitely a Korean Spicy though. The other is the soy garlic sauce you read about in all the other reviews that also lured me into this fine establishment. It was very good. Definitely sweet but the flavor was excellent. I normally do not care for sweet sauces but would have this one again. It is that good. The main thing that impressed me though is the light and airy fry batter on the chicken. This fried chicken will not leave you feeling sluggish with their fried chicken. I ordered the season fries with my meal and they where perfectly fried with crispy outside and soft potato inside. I will say do not expect a Cajun or other seasoning. Their season fries consist of Parmesan cheese. I fully intend to come back to try their tacos and sliders at some point.

Service was outstanding. They have such a friendly and attentive staff. We ordered the 20 piece wings, half soy garlic/half yangnyeom. Both flavors were delicious. Yangnyeom was a tad spicy for me, but it was manageable with the pickled radish. The seasoned fries were crispy and flavorful. Japchae was just average, but that's totally fine since they specialize in wings and that was awesome!

On a busy Friday night the wait was minimal for a table, as well as our food as they were very expedient. I highly recommend the Chicken Katsu and the Bull Dak if you like it spicy and piping hot. Worth parking a block away for.

Stopped by for the $1 wings at lunch and tried all three flavors—soy garlic, BBQ, and the new yangnyeom. The yangnyeom is a must-try! I’m not usually a fan of spicy food, but this one was just right. We also had edamame and the Korean doughnuts. 10/10!

First time here and super stoked! Long story short, I had a special request that they don’t really offer and the server Jeffrey and the manager made it happen. Very grateful for that. We had the fries for appetizers and really really enjoyed em. Came with my family- twin brother is a chef and mentioned how well the fries were cooked. All in all, very pleased and will absolutely come back with my wife!

Overall good but not great. I went at lunch on a weekday and had the Soy Garlic and Spicy combo (4 each) and the seasoned fries. There were just a few tables with customers, pretty quiet. Service was good, they were prompt and courteous. Wings were good, better than at Cross Street Chicken and Beer (which in spite of many fawning reviews I have found to be underwhelming), but not as good as Furaido in Poway (best I've had in San Diego) or the Korean fried chicken I've had in Korea. EDIT: This just in, the chicken wings at Facing East are the best we've had in the Convoy area, closest to the best we have eaten in Korea. Not to be missed. Back to Bochon...they don't overdo the sauce which is nice, but the KFC crunch was just not as hoped for. The soy garlic were for some reason crisper than the spicy wings, maybe the spicy wings had sat around for a little bit waiting for the soy garlic to be ready. I also had the seasoned fries, and they were a bit confusing. Though they had what looked like a lot of seasoning on them, they were significantly under seasoned due to a lack of just plain old salt. They provided some salt when I asked and after the addition the fries were very good, quite crispy, perfectly cooked. They provide ketchup with the fries. I think they have an opportunity here, to come up with a ketchup\gochujang combination with the fries to provide a more interesting experience. I had french fries at a Korean-owned small lunch kiosk in Lahaina, and they had a french fry dish there there was created with a gochujang-based sauce, and it was amazing. I'd like to come back to try a few more of their dishes, they have some interesting items on their menu.

This place is mostly really good! Called for a take out order. They said ready in 25. It was about 40. No big deal. We ordered the wings combo, udon soup, potstickers, and chicken fried rice. Everything was good EXCEPT the spicy wings and chicken fried rice. Chicken fried rice was $12 for a SMALL bowl and it was not tasty at all. $12. For a bowl of rice. Soy garlic wings were unbelievable. So good. Spicy wings? Hard pass. They were JUST spice, and too spicy. We LOVE spicy food and can eat anything spicy. These had absolutely no flavor except too much spice. Cayenne pepper maybe? Also, the parking and parking lot is a nightmare. If you’re coming to collect your food, you’ll have have two people to do it. There is nowhere to park and get your food.

Really yummy! My first time having hot pot and LOVED IT. It was priced really fairly, especially for an all you can eat place. I take away one star because I really wasn't a fan of the spicy tallow broth, the flavor was great but there was so much oil that I hardly touched it. The duck broth was great though and I love that you can get two broths at one table!

A
Areeporn Nuansing

Hit or miss. When it’s right this is the best place for wings. But that’s maybe half the time. Sometimes the wings are tiny and under-sauced. The pic is from a recent Sunday night. We ate some first, and we had to stop and take this pic because we were pretty disappointed with this batch. Chapstick added for size comparison. It’s far too expensive if they’re going to give tiny wings and charge the same price per wing.

FOOD & DRINKS The spicy wings and the side dishes we had were all good. SERVICE Neither good nor bad. ATMOSPHERE Spacious but not cozy or inviting but I don’t believe it's supposed to be like that anyway. RATING The food is good and I would come back for the chicken wings if there were not other options available that I wanted to try out first.

Takoyaki, soy ginger drumstick and seasoned fries, that’s what I chose. I happened to be in the area and was searching on my Google maps for a place to eat. I had this place saved to try, so I did. I was hoping to try the salmon avocado ball from the photos but they no longer carry it. Bill was $22 plus tip. Average prices. I was satisfied with my choices but would definitely come back and try more from the menu.

It’s been a while since last time I dined in. We usually order them for take-out. It’s our favorite place to get Korean chicken wings. I heard that they have $1 wing on Mondays and Tuesdays so i had to take advantage of it. It’s up to 15 wings per person. We ordered 30 wings, half spicy and half soy garlic. They were crunchy and flavorful. The spicy ones were a bit too spicy for my taste. I also really liked their pickled radish, a very refreshing side dish that compliments wings well. I’m sure I’ll come back soon.

First time trying this Asian Fusion Chicken place. I got Bibimbap~ rice with scrambled eggs , lettuce, carrots and sautéed onions, mushrooms and spinach, contains sesame seeds or sesame seed oil. You can choose one protein bulgogi, soy garlic chicken or spicy chicken or you can get additional protein for extra charge. I also got side of Kimchi, National Korean dish consisting of fermented chilli peppers mixed with cabbage. I usually like kimchi but this particular one was a bit too saucy to my taste. Other than that food was pretty good hit the spot for spicy craving. Thanks. Will try their wings. Everybody is talking about Happy Hour $1 wings I think it’s on Mondays. 🍱🍗🍗🍖🍱🥘🥘

The wings were crispy and flavorful, but rather small compared to some other places. Next time we will go with the drumsticks because other tables ordered them and they looked filling. We also had the pork buns but they over flavored them with sauce and veggies. Not bad, but we would have preferred more pork instead of fillers.

The sides portion is disappointing. These sides are designed to serve 4-6 people as their menu says but sadly it barely serves 2 people. When I ordered last time a few months ago, the sides portion were double than the ones we received today. The fried chicken are still good tho

Bonchon on Convoy Street is a local favorite for Korean fried chicken. They also serve other Korean comfort food. It is located in a busy strip mall and finding parking requires patience and luck. Best time to find parking is 3:30-4:30pm. Inside the restaurant is kind of dark and has many TV screens for people to watch sports/games. On the day of our visit (New Year’s Eve), there were streams of customers picking up their takeout orders but one poor waitstaff/hostess working there. She was calm, efficient and polite so we hope the owner pays her well. We picked up our Korean fried chicken (wings and drumsticks), half spicy and half mild. We enjoyed eating the hand battered and double fried Korean chicken. Definitely a crowd pleaser. We will go back to try other dishes in the future.

So I’ll have to do an update on the service when it’s not just one person working with over 8 tables to themselves. Food: Chicken tenders plain (for toddler) 10/10 the batter was amazing and the chicken was super juicy! Fries 10/10 really crispy! Garlic soy 10 count bone in wings 10/10! Great batter and flavor was all there! Bibimbap (bulgogi) 3/10: No flavor and hardly any beef bulgogi. Really disappointing

Stopped in at noon on a Saturday morning, not busy and tables available; but we were asked to sign in and waited for a few minutes outside of the restaurant because there is only one door to go in and out and it is a fire hazard. Weird! After we ordered (8 pieces of chicken strips, pork belly bun, fries, and popcorn shrimp), it took them a while to bring out the food. Again, they are not busy because there are empty tables. The only thing that brings a 3-star rating is the decent food. All fried food were crunchy. Spicy chicken strips really gave a kick. The pork belly buns were yummy. We drank water only. The total bill came out to be $40 not including tax and tips. Kind of pricey. The experience didn't live up to the hype.

The food tastes good but is overpriced. The service doesn't make up for it either. I went once in person and once for a take-out order. The first time I ate in, I had to wait outside for at least 5 minutes when I could clearly see open tables. The food we ordered didn't come out in any logical order. The wings came out first, then the kimchi side, then the chicken caesar salad with a teaspoon of dressing. They completely forgot the seasoned fries. The second time I called in a take-out order and was told that it would take 45 minutes to be ready. I felt sorry for the people who were eating in to have to wait that long, but I wasn't in much of a hurry so I waited to show up. The wings came in a nice neat branded box and were great. But the popcorn shrimp was in a paper bag without any container, and the caesar salad was the size of a McDonald's side salad. All 3 for $50, definitely not worth the money. I understand Korean fried chicken is a growing food trend but there are better places to get it on the same street

Best Korean Fried Chicken is what I searched for in the Google search. This place popped up as #1 in Korean Fried Chicken. It is not the best Korean fried chicken. They didn't have boneless chicken and so we ordered the medium chicken tenders half soy garlic and half spicy. They both were spicy and couldn't taste any soy or any garlic. The sauce was very minimal. Some parts of the tender had no sauce on them. Korean Fried Chicken is well known for the crispness. These were floppy tenders. Disappointing to say the least. We ordered "Seasoned" fries. The fries were seasoned with parsley and parmesean cheese with no seasoned salt at all. They were so bland like their chicken. The one thing that we did like was the Bulgogi Tacos. 3 tacos for $14. They were very flavorful and I would buy those again, but don't ever plan on spending my money there again. Service was good as well. Music and ambience is good too. Too bad the chicken is just chicken with no Korean-style whatsoever. I would recommend KnockOut Chicken instead. They serve their food Korean-style with lots of sauce that is sticky, that gets all over your hands and face! Bonchon had no sauce dripping anywhere at all. Had to get the food to go as I didn't want to be there anymore because the food was disappointing. Even though the food was bad, I still gave a 20% tip because it's not the servers fault. I just had my son try it, as I'm writing thus review, and he said Wing Stop is way better...

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The table we were seated at was dirty with sticky spots. I ordered the chicken katsudon, but unfortunately, it did not meet expectations. The chicken's breading was overcooked to the point where it lost its flavor, and everything was drowned in a spicy sauce that overpowered the dish. The rice was inconsistently cooked—some parts were undercooked, while others were clumped together. Overall, it was a very unsatisfying meal.

The first time I ate here when it first opened it was great. I ordered takeout tonight and there was barely any sauce on the chicken. So little you would think I asked for half the sauce. The bulgogi fries’ toppings were extremely skimpy as well. Maybe this place went downhill, or maybe it’s only good for eating in.

I am gonna make a complaint about this restaurant called Bonchon Convoy. I had chicken wings, drumsticks. Unfortunately, the drumsticks don't have, they don't add that much sweetness in it. It's simple. They're not good anymore. The customer service is horrible. As soon as they see us that we stop ordering or we stop like asking ordering, they just start skipping us. And my family, we're still actually eating some food and they don't come and offer water. I mean, it's horrible service. I wanna give a one star. Very bad service, the food is no longer good. They hardly put sauce. This is like a teriyaki, barbecue sauce on the drumsticks and chicken wings. They hardly add any of those sauces. I even requested for some and I didn't get any. They're like, no, we could only add some on top, a little bit on top. We cannot give you a side. They get like that.
