Great location right near the heart of Little Italy. The have beautiful and ginormous donuts that are baked fresh every day. There are lots of tables outside on their front patio. Grabbed a box of donuts for the family. We all had a laugh at their sizes. Everyone liked the donuts. Saw someone with their donut smash burger with fries that looked delicious. Will have to come back to enjoy it. Their coffee is good too.. They have different black and white murals with QR codes scattered around. Scan the QR code at each one to bring the murals to life with colors and movements. So fun! Parking is an issue since it's Little Italy. There are paid parking spots on the street and parking garages scattered around.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely incredible! I stopped by Donut Bar & Bakery in San Diego and tried their Crème Brûlée donut — and WOW. Hands down one of the best donuts I've ever had. The outside had that perfect caramelized sugar glaze, just like the dessert, and the inside was filled with a rich, creamy custard that was smooth and full of flavor. It was the ideal balance of sweet and indulgent without being overly heavy. The shop itself is clean and stylish, and the service was quick and friendly. You can tell they put a lot of care into their craft. If you're in San Diego and even thinking about donuts, do yourself a favor and try this place. The Crème Brûlée donut alone is worth the visit!
We stopped here at my request due to the high profile of this location. It has been featured many times in many different places. When I drove by looking for a place to park the line was out the door. After getting parked I was surprised by the options. My Boston Crème donut was amazing. My son had a homer and enjoyed it. My wife had some sort of double chocolate and it didn't exist long enough for me to sneak a bite. My son even got a bonus Elmo donut that he was afraid to eat as it was so cool. The person that helped me was patient and friendly as non of us could figure out what we wanted (we really wanted one of each). The person that checked me out was also friendly and was patient. Overall this was a really good stop and I am glad we went a bit out of the way to experience it. It was made even better as the chef was in the building as well though I didn't get a chance to interact with him.
Not a big donut person but they have other stuff on the menu, including a pretty good burger and fries. I love coming here for the great milk. Highly recommend stopping by for some good old fashioned milk!
They're fully aware of how good their donuts are. Excellent tasting donuts that are served with a smile. They're bigger and more expensive than regular donuts.

I haven’t eaten here (yet) but I had the utmost privilege of experiencing Donut Bar’s kindness and care for their customers ❤️ I sent my best friend a couple donuts for her last day of work via delivery and Donut Bar went above and beyond to decorate the box and add in extra vegan donuts to make the occasion feel even more special 🥹 Donut Bar, you have a new loyal customer for life!!
Staff was great. Cinnamon rolls look amazing, next time. Had grilled cheese donut with bacon and jam. Would recommend jam on the side. Also ask for a glazed donut, i think mine was plain missing out on the savory sweet balance with bacon.
The Donut Bar is a native San Diego creation with new owners that continue to create amazing donuts. Comicon is here and the themed donuts are a hit. They never disappoint!!
OmG I think we found another one. My wife and kids have been to San Diego once, this makes trip number two. We found this donut spot. And OMG it's so fattening. Some of the best moist,soft donuts I have tasted in San Diego. My wife and I also tried their mimosa drinks and they did not disappoint. Can't wait to come back here. Downtown San Diego was fun and amazing.
Donut Bar & Bakery is a real treat for donut lovers, offering a wide variety of creative and delicious options at 5 bucks. The Nutella and chocolate bomb were especially amazing—rich, fresh, and satisfying. It truly feels like a classic donut shop with something for everyone. The only reason it’s not a full five stars is that it can get pretty crowded, but it’s definitely worth the visit.
This is the spot for fun, unforgettable donuts. The flavors are incredibly creative — and some of the donuts are as big as your hand! But don’t let the size and whimsy fool you: the donuts are unbelievably light and fluffy and so flavorful. Truly some of the best I’ve tasted. Be careful, your eyes will be larger than your stomach.
Very good donut establishment. I liked the different flavors. I am a sucker for carrot cake so I got that in cupcake form. I would have liked to try about half of their offerings unfortunately we had limited time and appetites. Everything we had was good.
Last day of our vacation, and wanted a treat for breakfast. I found this donut shop on Google Maps and figured I'd give it a try. This was truly a nice treat with a big tempting selection of donuts. Not your typical donuts, a bit bigger than what I was expecting, but definitely fresh and tasty. Took care of breakfast and lunch.
Oh man🫡 This is exceptionally good donut shop. It is incredible from the moment you enter the store to the people and donuts. Oh God it is delicious. There are couple of surprises on the wall. Just scan the codes and you will experience it 🤩 such a cool place. They have variety of choices. Check the pictures. Size is great especially for sweet tooth. Weekends open at 8 weekdays at 7. Parking might be little hard to find but worth it. Awesome 👏 thank you
The donuts at the Donut Bar were large, fresh, and delicious! I love donuts, and Big Poppa Tart was the craziest, most tasty donut I’ve ever tried. I got the strawberry one, and I can only describe it as like a party in my mouth. A must try! The staff was also very friendly and helpful. We met Chef Santiago, who even gave us an extra donut on the house! I wish I had a Donut Bar at home- if I am back in San Diego, I will definitely eat here again!
I’m not sure where they hire these kids are but they are SO excited about the donuts and so friendly. If I could ship them to the East Coast to work for me, I would! Service is 10/10 hands down. The vibe is great! I really thought the artwork was cool and then noticed that you can scan a QR code for AI on the artwork. I’ve never seen that before. Pretty neat. Now, what everyone comes for are the donuts. The way the employees were so passionate about the donuts, the details, and the awards they have won, I expected to be blown away. The donuts were mid. I’ve definitely had better but the 1 star reviews are uncalled for (maybe not the omelette French toast one since she included a pic or I wouldn’t have believed it)… you can leave 2-4 stars and still complain. You shouldn’t be leaving 1 star unless something crazy happened. I ordered the French Toast donut and the Vanilla Bean. The French Toast donut was pretty good. Not gonna lie, when she told me they finish it with a blow torch, that’s what sold me. It would’ve been cool to see them do that but it was made in the back. The Vanilla Bean icing was great but the donut could’ve been more moist. Oh and the pistachio iced latte was beautiful with crushed pistachios presented on top. I waited too long to take a picture of it and they started sinking in. They are open until Sold Out. I saw it posted everywhere online before I came. They aren’t hiding that fact. Don’t leave a company a 1 star review because you drove hours to come, paid for parking, and didn’t prepare that they’d be sold out hours after they opened. That is a you problem not a them problem. I’d leave 4 stars but am going to leave 5 just to help balance out the idiots that left 1 star for their own stupidity.
10-27-2023 Went here for breakfast and was very pleased the staff was very helpful and explained a lot about the different donuts and even gave suggestions. The display of donuts made you want to order 1 of every flavor the customers were even nice and pleasant. I decided to have the French toast donut it was wonderful it was very flavorful and large i was only able to eat 1 half of it but i saved the other half for later. The syrup and jelly you get with it is a perfect match if I'm not mistaken i think they only do the French toast donut on the weekend because it has to be heated up. We absolutely love the Donut Bar. We stayed across the street and just kept going back day after day for breakfast and coffee. I'm not a donut person, but they elevate donuts to an art form.

Appreciate that they had multiple vegan options. Between the salted caramel and the vanilla glaze - vanilla was my favorite. Partner got the (non-vegan) double/triple chocolate. He enjoyed it. Donuts were good; however, we recommended eating them same-day/fresh. Perhaps they would last longer in an airtight container. (We were tourist). While the donuts were very delicous and they had plenty of flavor options, the ratio of dough to topping was a bit off for us. Honestly, the donut was huge and I'm not sure I could have eaten a whole one if they added more toppings without reducing the size of the donut itself. Really enjoyed the energy of the people working behind the counter. Very personable and willing to give great recommendations based on your preferred flavor profile.
A bar that offers baked goods and doughnuts? I am in! For a coffee bar that is and those baked goods of course. I picked up a pistachio scone and iced coffee during my visit and are on the outside patio. The pistachio scone was quite good and came not only drizzled with creamy chocolate, but came with an abundance of chopped pistachios. It was delicious and had a very good texture. The iced coffee was pretty good. It had a slight bitterness towards the end, but other than that it was smooth and tasty. The young ladies working the business were very nice and informative. They had good senses of humor, too. The patio outside was clean for the most part except for a few crumbs on the tables left by customers. They offer a large amount of skillfully made doughnuts and baked goods.

I wish I could eat gluten 😭😭😭 Nothing gluten free here but they have a vegan option sometimes. I grabbed a delicious coffee instead and spared myself some gym time extra calories and brought one to my husband instead, who loved it! Just a basic maple bar was fresh, delicious and well made. The macadamia mocha hot coffee was warm and creamy dessert in itself. A very fun place to get something extra special for a non gluten free donut eater!

Sorry to say, these donuts are very underwhelming. Way too much dough and just ok in terms of flavor. We tried raised glazed, raised chocolate, a raised seasonal pumpkin, an old fashioned glazed and the raised strawberry. All were meh. There are better donuts at any old donut shop
