Opinions de Morning Glory Chula Vista
We had been looking forward to dining at Morning Glory for a while now, and it’s not disappoint. My wife had the incredible soufflé pancakes, and I had a classic eggs Benny. Both were some of the best food we had eaten in San Diego in a long time that wasn’t Mexican or seafood. I was going to have a coffee, but then I caved into my wife and had a passionfruit mimosa, and then another. We were very grateful to be able to sit at the bar outside, and our bartender was incredible, and hospitable. We will definitely be back on our next trip to San Diego to visit my family.
We were visiting San Diego and heard of these amazing soufflé pancakes and were lucky to get in after 1.5 hours(literally…thankfully there was farmer’s market there so we could wait for it) It was worth the wait I would say, the soufflé pancakes were amazing, we also had hot chocolate which comes in orange flavour and it was too good, i don’t like orange flavour but somehow this one was super comfy and delicious, highly recommend this hot chocolate. We also had some entrees which were good. I would suggest to make a reservation prior and check in for better viewing seats etc. loved the vibe and the place, very bougie!
We came here in a large group for brunch (planned greatly in advance, so the brief wait was anticipated and staff could accommodate because they expected us). The atmosphere was memorable and unique, the space itself is truly cinematic. It’s something between a glam salon and a mechanic’s. All the staff were professional and personable. Along with memorable and stylistic design choices, each menu item was purposeful, and amusingly described. And of course, delectable to the very last bites. The soufflé pancakes deserve all the hype, they are a must-try. We got some for the table and left nothing behind. My steak and eggs were *perfect* with real crispy onions and a super clean chimichurri that brought it all together. Oh, I didn’t get a chance to see the restrooms, but apparently they’re fit for royalty! Next time we’re back in town, we’ll neeeeed to come back. The menu is huge, and everything we ordered brought undeniable flavor.
Delicious breakfast in Little Italy! It's very popular so expect to wait for a table. We visited on a Tuesday and had a 45 minute wait. I think it was worth it, though! We had the baked French toast and the souffle pancakes. Both were excellent! If you order the pancakes, add the berries and whipped cream. It adds so much more flavor and is worth the extra cost. Service was friendly and helpful.
My first time here and it will not be my last. I really enjoyed my time at this restaurant. My friend recommended it to me and it did not disappoint. The vibes were fun and they played all the best songs. It was right up my alley. I was solo and sat at the bar. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The decor was one of my favorites I’ve seen so far. This was located in Little Italy. As I had read this place can get packed and always has a line. I did not have to wait too long I got there early and it was during the week but when I left the line was getting long. I know why! lol I can’t wait to go back and try more of the dishes
I arrived around 10 a.m. and there was already a line to get in. The wait was about 20 minutes, but it moved pretty quickly. Once I got to the front, the hostess seated me at the bar. I ordered the Japanese soufflé pancakes from the menu. They came out warm, fluffy, and really delicious. Definitely worth the short wait.
If you want a delicious breakfast spot in little Italy this is it! Been here a couple of times and never disappoints. The wait time to get a table could range from 20 to 50 minutes depending on how busy the morning is. The soufflé packages are our favorite item and I highly recommend it. We ordered soufflé pancakes along two sides; crispy hash potatoes and 3 slides of bacon and two lattes. The total was around $70. The vibes and the aesthetics of this place are unique and great, the servers are friendly. I really love this place and we make it into our breakfast spot every time we come to San Diego.
They open at 8am on Saturdays and we were 4th in line at 7:30am. There's always a long line so glad we decided to come before they even opened. We were seated right away and our waiter Lucky made sure we had a good dining experience. No rush on ordering and he made recommendations on what to order. The matcha latte and chai latte were both delicious. The chai latte was served in a pretty glass goblet while the matcha was served in a traditional coffee cup. We prefer the traditional cup. The chilaquiles was delicious with crunchy tortillas piled high with salsa Verde, crema and topped with scrambled eggs. I opted not to add chorizo or birria this time. I had plenty of leftovers. A trip to Morning Glory is not complete without their fluffy souffle pancakes. Delicious! We added the fruit compote too. It's served with whipped cream, berries, and warm maple syrup. The hash brown side pieces was dry and pretty plain so skip that. Parking is an issue in Little Italy since most street parking is only for 2 hours. The paid parking lots can get pretty pricey. We found free parking on Grape and the streets north of that.
Edit: second round. The breakfast carbonara and French toast get 10/10 for me too. Maximalist dining at its finest. This restaurant was a trip from start to finish—in the best way possible. We came on a Friday morning and sat in the open-air part of the bar, which was delightful. From our spiked coffees to our bunch plates to the sticky bun muffin I 100 percent needed in my belly, everything was tip top. The service was spot on and the servers were very cool. My only complaint is that there are too many good things on the menu that I couldn't try all at once—and I'm not just talking the plates you'd expect. There are some truly unique and unexpectd gems. Go check it out!!
Morning Glory delivered an experience that was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was lively and joyful, the aromas were absolutely heavenly, and the food was exquisite in every sense of the word. This visit was a very special date for my wife and me, and Thomas, the General Manager, made us feel like royalty. He truly rolled out the red carpet and set the tone for an unforgettable morning. His warmth, presence, and genuine care for the guest experience were remarkable. Our waitress, Portia (Porsche), was terrific—friendly, attentive, competent, and effortlessly personable. She struck that perfect balance of professionalism and warmth that makes you feel both well cared for and completely at ease. By the end of the meal, she felt more like a friend than a server. TJ, the man behind the appetizer cart setup, was also a standout and part of this same welcoming, upbeat dynamic that made the experience feel special rather than transactional. As a Bib Gourmand 2½-tire restaurant, the food is outstanding—as you’d expect. But food alone doesn’t make a memorable experience. People do. And Thomas, Portia, and TJ absolutely made this one. As a CFO and Director of Operations of a local law firm, I’ve spent the last 27 years looking for, hiring, and retaining quality people. These three were exceptional. Morning Glory is fortunate to have them, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly, highly recommended.
What a fun spot to eat, hangout and post on socials. Food is VERY reasonably priced to me. Portions are solid, taste is good and options are plentiful. You gotta put your name down for a spot, so if it’s a Saturday Morning Brunch, please get there early and expect a 45 - 60 minute wait for parties of 4 or more. We had some tasty food, mocktails and cocktails. The staff are soooo polite and helpful with suggestions and taking group photos. Parking lots are within a couple blocks and there’s some street parking available. I will be back.
Finding the place is honestly the trickiest part. The restaurant is located on the second floor, up a flight of stairs, and the signage is not helpful at all, which can make it confusing on your first visit. Once you get upstairs though, everything quickly turns around. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and we ended up checking in and sitting at the bar. The bar seating is a bit tight, but Bre was an absolutely amazing host and made the experience feel comfortable and enjoyable despite the limited space. Super attentive, friendly, and genuinely pleasant throughout. The menu itself is a work of art, an intricate skull illustration surrounded by vivid pink florals and flowing handwritten accents on a black backdrop. Bold, edgy, and unforgettable. What we ordered: Soufflé pancakes with berries – incredibly light, fluffy, and perfectly sweet Lobster omelette – rich, flavorful, and well executed Crispy hash browns – golden, crunchy, and addictive A couple of coffees and freshly squeezed orange juice ( they happened to have fresh grapefruits for juicing as well) to round it out Overall, a fantastic brunch spot with excellent food and standout service. Clearer signage and slightly more breathing room at the bar would help, but the hospitality especially from Bre more than makes up for it. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in San Diego!!
Recommendation courtesy of my friend’s hubby. We went on a Monday morning and it was absolutely delicious. We shared the lobster omelette (10/10), soufflé pancakes (9/10—super sweet), and an iced latte with honey & cinnamon (10/10). My man tried the Socialist rum cold brew, which was a miss for us (2/10). The vibe was a 10/10, and the staff and service were incredible while we sat at the bar. No wait!
Morning Glory is that spot. From the moment we sat down, the vibe was welcoming and fun. Linda was amazing and took the time to walk us through the menu, which made everything feel even more exciting. Bri, our server, was super friendly and kept everything flowing perfectly. The food was next level. The Japanese soufflé pancakes were insanely fluffy and basically melted in our mouths—hands down a must-order. We paired that with peanut butter mocha lattes (so good and cozy) and a vanilla latte that was smooth and perfectly made. The standout dish was the Chilaquiles with birria, a sunny-side-up egg, and bone marrow. So rich, flavorful, and comforting—every bite was packed with flavor and felt super satisfying. Overall, Morning Glory just gets it: great food, great people, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile… and then come right back. Already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!
Morning Glory was one of those places that literally everyone—locals, Uber drivers, hotel staff—told me I absolutely had to visit. I went in kind of expecting a massive wait, but I was at the bar in like five minutes. Turns out this place is actually a two-and-a-half-star Michelin spot, which I only realized when I walked in and saw the plaque on the wall. The vibe is super cool—they’ve got hip-hop and pop playing, and I’m literally eating breakfast to Drake and Lil Wayne playing. The staff is awesome and on top of everything. I went with the soufflé pancakes, crispy scallop potatoes, and a pineapple mimosa. Honestly, everything was amazing. As someone who considers themselves a foodie, I can say this is easily one of the best breakfast spots I’ve ever been to, and I’d go back in a heartbeat. It’s that good.
Morning Glory was such a unique and delicious spot for enjoying some high-quality weekend brunch! They only do walk-ins for the most part, so we came in the afternoon and added ourselves to the waitlist - initially, we were told it'd be around 45 minutes, but we ended up getting seated less than 10 minutes later! It was just two of us so we were seated at the bar, but we didn't mind. If there's anything I'd wish could be changed/improved, it'd be more table seating options - especially for couples/smaller parties, but I understand that they also have to work within the space that they have available. As for the food itself, service was very prompt and friendly with taking our order - I got the Breakfast Carbonara pasta, while my partner got their Breakfast Sando. Both of these items were absolutely delicious - very unique flavors and a few creative ingredients, but it also wan't TOO crazy and everything went together just right. My Breakfast Carbonara was deliciously silky smooth, creamy, and delectable to eat up! I also loved that it had just a hint of very subtle heat in it from some chili oil, but nothing that was overpowering in any way. It was just the right amount portion wise and just a delight with every bite into the pasta bowl! I also loved the Breakfast Sando - it was big and hefty but holds together well while eating! The crispy onions added a nice crunch to the sausage, cheese, and other ingredients within it. I was also very pleased with the prices! Very reasonable, with both the food entrees and the cocktails all being under $20 and most of them under $15! Speaking of cocktails, I highly recommend the Goldstein's Orange Joolius - especially if you love a creamy, fruity drink! It was nice and big, tasting kind of like a very elevated and way more complex Pina Colada type of drink! Morning Glory is definitely worth checking out for brunch/lunch & I'd be happy to return on future visits to San Diego!
They definitely pass the vibe check! So beautiful inside. Great music. Amazing staff. The food & drinks are so fire. The steak and eggs are my favorite. The fried rice smacks! The soufflé pancakes- DELICIOUS! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Kailee was our server on our first visit. She was a delight. Our experience was so great that we doubled back a second day (before leaving SD). Jacob’s service was wonderful as well. It was a true pleasure meeting Thomas too! Very friendly & made us feel like part of the family. Can’t wait to visit again when I’m in San Diego!
I visited this charming restaurant with a lovely pink-themed interior that gives off a soft, welcoming vibe. The ambience is one of the highlights—really pretty and perfect for a casual brunch outing. It’s the kind of place you want to spend time in, soaking up the atmosphere. That said, be prepared for a bit of a wait—our turn took about an hour in the wait-list, which could be a dealbreaker if you’re really hungry or in a rush. The food was an absolute delight. The souffle pancakes were the standout—fluffy, light, and they practically melt in your mouth. Definitely the highlight of the meal! We also tried their orange and vanilla hot chocolate, which was comforting and a lovely twist on the classic. It had a nice balance of sweetness and flavor, perfect for sipping while relaxing. We also opted for Khachapuri, which was a nice, fulfilling addition. The cheesy, doughy goodness really hit the spot and felt hearty without being too heavy. The only downside was the service—the staff seemed quite busy and not very attentive. It wasn’t bad, but there’s definitely room for improvement in that area. Overall, I’d still recommend this place for a leisurely brunch. Great ambience, good food, and a menu that offers a nice mix of comfort and novelty.
Let's start with the bad. Uncoordinated individuals like myself, beware of the barstools. They are tippy. Other than that the service was friendly and knowledgeable. The menu was so fun and the entire esthetic of the place was just perfect. You could show up dressed to the nines or in jeans and a comfy shirt ( I even saw someone in pjs) and feel welcomed at home. The mixture of patterns and textures was eclectic but made looking around so much fun. For food I had the breakfast carbonara and my partner had the souffle pancakes. The carbonara was rich but not too heavy with flavorful pieces of pork belly and just a touch of spice. The pasta was expertly cooked and the entire dish was satisfying. My husband said the pancakes were sweet enough without syrup he added berries and cream on the side which added too the tastiness of the dish. I had the old fashion and the bananas in pajamas. Both drinks were liquor forward with sweet finishes, but the old fashion had a more deep flavor profile while the banana drink was more like a piña colada with creamy notes.
Great brunch place! They have some very interesting options to choose from and does not restrict itself to one type of cuisine. The khachapuri and the lobster omelet both were pretty good. The best dish we had was the souffle pancakes, it was very gooey, warm in the middle and was very well made. A must try if you are a brunch lover. The restaurant doesn't take reservations and you have to be there to get on the list. Also the wait time can be pretty high and we had to wait 35 minutes to get in.

Food is extraordinary! We had the French omelette with a side of hash browns, and millennial tears with side of vegan pancake with berries. Everything was so well prepared and served beautifully. Special shout out for the cocktails - I had something called spice up your life and wow, the balance of chili in that drink was amazing! The bigger question is - is it worth the wait? Maybe. We waited 45 mins on a Monday afternoon (1 pm). The wait isn’t just because of long lines which wasn’t the case at this hour on a weekday, but that the clean up of tables was so slow that they couldn’t seat people fast enough. We could see 2 tables clear up and nobody bussed it for 15 mins even though we were #1 in waiting line on OpenTable. That part was frustrating! Just clean tables quickly so people can be seated faster. It’ll do you well.
Morning glory was a disappointment. The set up inside is awkward. The table placement is almost an afterthought. The decor isnt given a platform to shine. The staff is fine. The food was horrible and it was expensive. The souffle pancakes were dense and heavy. The hollandaise sauce was dark orange and flavorless. The sunny side up egg was floating in oil on the plate. The hash browns were just a couple of burned up oil bricks. The pork belly fried rice was also swimming in oil. The meal was mostly inedible. Even the mimosas and espressos were horrible. We ordered sodas that never came. The music was good. The bathroom was gorgeous.
Cool vibe for breakfast overlooking Little Italy with view of water. Food was good and priced well. It is busy and you will have to wait for table, for food and coffee/tea. We had to wait nearly 20min for a Chai Latte and Coffee to start our breakfast.... it actually was delivered with our food. Disappointing if you like to sip your coffee/ tea while waiting for your food on a cold morning sitting outside If you order a morning cocktail it will come QUICK!
This place is on the second floor. I went twice in the morning on different days, and both times the wait was about 1.5 hours. The third time, I tried coming for lunch and still waited 40 minutes before getting seated. It was around noon with strong sunshine, and I was wearing a thick jacket. After sitting under the sun for about 10 minutes, I really couldn’t take it anymore and asked to change seats—thankfully, I was finally moved to a shaded area and escaped the sensation of the burning sun. As for the food: I don’t recommend the sweet dishes. I knew soufflé and French toast would be sweet, but this was way too sweet to enjoy. However, the Lobster Omelette I ordered was actually more like a Benedict-style dish, and the flavor was decent. I also wanted to try their cocktails, so I ordered one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic drink—unfortunately, neither was good. Overall, some hits and misses, but the long wait and drinks were disappointing. The staffs were really friendly and polite!
Food was not bad. Wait was about 45 min. Luckily we went earlier and weather was not too bad. Something to be aware they charge surcharges and also 18% gratuities for party over 8. Japanese soufflés pancake was actually surprisingly really soft and good. 4.3/5 Breakfast Carbonara was good and creamy. A bit heavy for brunch (just my preference). Felt sort of similar to Mac and cheese a bit. 3.8/4 Space - if you come in a bigger party its a bit small. We had 6 people adults but space was small on the booth. Bathroom there is two bathroom but lines were really filling up and people were waiting for 3-5 min wait per. Parking - bit hard to find if its get crowded. Mostly had to street parking and meters. Make sure to read the signs. The public parking that they had near was underground but it was about $32 per hour. Would not recommend.
Morning Glory was a great restaurant to eat at during brunch hour. We were told at 10:30 that we would have to wait an hour for a party of two when in fact we waited until 12:15. Once inside you're greeted with a huge opening with a beautiful dining area/bar. The atmosphere of this restaurant is very much hipster meets Wicked. The food was worth the wait. My chicken and waffles has just the right amount of sweet and savory. Each bite of the chicken was delicious. My wife ordered the souffle pancakes. The souffle pancakes are literally like biting into cotton candy! Airy and sweet with a kick of butteriness. This restaurant works with Open Table so make that reservation ahead of time or you'll be waiting longer than expected as a walk in party.
This was an interesting experience. The service was fantastic in my opinion. Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. They did joke around which was fun because I hate getting a robot when trying to order food. I ordered the morning wood old fashioned, and the chilaquiles with Birria on top. The old fashioned was perfect. It had a nice blueberry flavor you could just taste a hint of. I loved it! The chilaquiles were good, not great but good. They had a decent flavor and the chips were cooked extremely nice! However the problem I ran into was the Birria, this might have been the most bland pile of meat I’ve ever had. Even my girlfriend hated it. I had to pull it off and put it on the side of the plate. I don’t know if this was just a bad day for their Birria, but I won’t even give it another chance that’s how bad it was. Overall id come back again, the service was great, drinks were on point, and the food minus one thing was excellent. I’d love to give their other foods a chance.
The Interiors are feast for the eyes, featuring rose-gold accents, tiled floors, pink booths making it a great spot for photos. Staff are friendly, attentive, and accommodating, making sure that every guest has a wonderful experience. Be prepared for long wait, especially on weekends, but the service is worth it. Food tastes great!

The soufflé pancakes were fantastic! Unfortunately it was overshadowed by two things… the service was terrible and if there is a counter space that is in the sun all the time, then it shouldn’t be metal. I knew sitting at the counter would be in the sun, but I asked for an extra napkin to cover it so I didn’t burn myself, as it was in direct sunlight. I not only didn’t get silverware until right before the pancakes showed up, but I didn’t get an extra napkin. I had to ask two additional times for water as I don’t get anything before my meal arrived , and didn’t get any until after I finished my meal. Then the server appeared to walk out of the restaurant, so I assume she either quit on the spot or left without telling anyone, because I had to flag a different server down in order to pay. This was highly disappointing because good service would have made this a five star rating with how awesome the soufflé pancakes were and how impressive the design and decor of the restaurant are.
We visited this restaurant on a Saturday to celebrate my son’s birthday. The venue is visually impressive, with a lively atmosphere and a strong sense of energy that explains its popularity. The wait for a table was just over an hour for a party of four. In terms of the menu, vegan options were limited. I selected the pancakes, which arrived in a generous portion. Unfortunately, the texture was very dense, making them difficult to enjoy, and I was unable to finish the dish. The coffee, however, was very good, and nondairy milk was available. Service was adequate but unremarkable. While staff acknowledged our birthday celebration with a glitter-infused shot, only one was brought to the table, which felt like an incomplete gesture for a group of four. Overall, while the atmosphere was enjoyable and my son appreciated the experience, the quality of the food and the service details suggest there is room for improvement.

As a first time visitor, I’m puzzled how Morning Glory earned 2.5 Michelin tires. It’s not bad, but Michelin recognition is currently unwarranted. Why? First, the wait at 11 AM on a Wednesday (w…
Alright this is a bit of a hard one. We visited twice during Twitchcon weekend. Once on Thursday morning, and then once on Tuesday afternoon. Thursdays visit was very pleasant, delicious food, excellent service, and good drinks. Tuesday however, the day I write this, for some reason had a completely different vibe. Despite ordering the same dish, it was drastically different. I enjoyed their Steak and Eggs on my first visit, but upon second review my steak was tough and chewy, with fried onions that were completely soggy with grease. The “dirty” hash-browns gravy was thick and tasted of cream and the bottom of someone’s shoe. I really dislike leaving negative reviews, but I was really disappointed with our second visit, especially with such a stellar performance the first time around. Overall? This may be a hit or miss venue, with some stellar items and some that may fail to meet expectations. Unfortunately the bad experience sort of rained on our last day together. Not to mention syrup is a $5 up charge on dishes that really need it.
Service was absolutely horrible and horrendous.\nWas not acknowledge. Took the cashier 10 minutes to greet.\nWater had particles on the bottom like if the water filtration needed attention.\nRating…
The wait is not even worth it!!! After waiting almost 2 1/2 hours we sit down. I ended up ordering steak and eggs, medium, and eggs over medium eggs. Came out cold and asked for the eggs to be recook…

Visited this breakfast restaurant around 12 pm. The design is very cool. Wait time was only about 7 minutes, which was very nice, but the food and service were not as good as advertised. We ordered khachapuri, Turkish yogurt, chicken, and pancakes. The basil and bacon on top of the khachapuri were something I would have avoided—it was very overcooked and basil looked moldy. The chicken was kinda dry. … Very disappointing for an $85 order.
