Opinions de Bar Angolo allegro Meda
As a tourist visiting Little Italy in San Diego, you have dozens if not hundreds of options to dine out. Allegro was my choice and I loved it! I would go back to San Diego just to go back to this restaurant! The lasagna with crab meat with a lobster bisque was unbelievable. I’ve never had anything like it anywhere else and I can’t recommend it enough. They have a great patio so they get five stars on atmosphere and food but I’ve got to give four stars on service. My server was amazing, but there was some punk kid Waterboy. that was kind of judgmental about me dying alone. maybe it’s because he’s a millennial and doesn’t know any better. But I’m going back back to this place for that lasagna. Outstanding and highly recommended.
My friend and I came here during our visit to San Diego off a friend’s recommendation and it was the perfect spot for our dinner. The pasta was unlike any I’ve ever had — we had the gnocchi casio e pepe and the cannelloni lobster. It melted in our mouths like butter and the flavor was so rich in depth. We were very happy. On top of that, our server — Manuela I — was phenomenal. Very kind, intentional, and insightful. She was so warm and welcoming as well. We loved her and she definitely elevated our experience overall and made it more memorable.
Allegro was amazing per usual. Service and food was amazing, we ordered the pasta wheel (hits every time) and the gnocchi which was also delicious. Silvio took excellent care of us, helping us pair wines and even going as far as bringing us a sweet treat at the end of our meal! The atmosphere added to our overall dining experience, additional shoutout to Georgio for putting up with our tables insane request for more bread. Not only did he deliver, but he did so with a smile and made us feel not guilty about the additional carbs. Thank you for the wonderful experience, can’t wait to come again!
Allegro was wonderful. The atmosphere is so cute, the pasta was delicious, and I can’t wait to come back! Alessio was my waiter and he was wonderful! He had so much knowledge on the food and was very kind. All of the staff were very kind. Alessio went out of his way to make sure it was a great experience.
This was our first visit to Allegro, and it was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared, and the service was just as impressive. Our server, Alessio, was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Everything from start to finish was excellent. We’re looking forward to coming back soon!
Sat at the bar with my fiancée with Sunshine taking care of us. 10/10 customer service. Sunshine had warm energy & made great recommendations for food and drinks. Would recommend giving this place a try if you’re in town and ask for Sunshine!
First time here- Alessio was our server and he was very knowledgeable and recommended all of our food and everything was delicious! Definitely request him as your server if you ever come here.
Allegro was a perfect girls night pick. Great food and atmosphere. Alessio took great care of us and the Artichoke was especially amazing.
Food is delicious and Yuri was fantastic! He made sure we had a great time celebrating my nieces birthday! Will definitely be coming back! The pesto pasta with shrimp is a must try!
We had such an amazing experience here! Silvio, who I believe was the manager, truly made our night special. He sat us at a great table and was incredibly kind and attentive the entire time. We were celebrating a birthday, and he went out of his way to make it feel special by bringing us some extra treats, which we really appreciated. The drinks were fantastic. The peanut butter martini was especially delicious and a must try. All of the food was amazing, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was really nice and welcoming. Silvio was honestly the nicest attendant we have had in a long time, and his hospitality made the whole experience even better. We will definitely be coming back!
Allegro is an absolutely beautiful restaurant with an amazing atmosphere, complemented by genuinely incredible service. The people who work here are truly amazing and make every visit feel special. The food is outstanding, with the pasta cooked to absolute perfection. Our favourite was the tiramisu, easily the best we’ve had. We attended Allegro every single night we stayed in San Diego because nothing else compared. There is simply nothing better than Allegro.
From the moment we walked in, we were completely blown away. The Christmas décor was absolutely stunning, elegant, festive, and perfectly done. The ambiance felt warm, intimate, and truly special, setting the tone for an unforgettable night. The drinks were excellent, the appetizers were on point, and the food overall was outstanding. But the real star of the night was the lobster fettuccine hands down the best I’ve ever had. Unreal flavor, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. What truly elevated our experience was our server, Silvio, who is also the owner. His hospitality was top tier. He made us feel genuinely welcomed, took incredible care of us, and turned our first visit into something truly memorable. You can feel the passion and pride he has for this place in every detail. We enjoyed every bite, every sip, and every moment. This was our first time here, and we left completely enamored. We will 100% be back and will absolutely be recommending this restaurant to everyone we know.
I had dinner at Allegro in Little Italy and enjoyed it overall. The food was good and nicely presented, and the atmosphere was lively and pleasant, definitely feels like a popular spot. It was quite busy when we went, so it took a while for our order to arrive, but the staff were still courteous. Prices are on the higher side for what you get, but it’s still a nice place if you’re looking for good Italian food in a vibrant setting.
Our dining experience at Allegro in San Diego was truly wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the restaurant impressed us with its warm, inviting atmosphere that feels both intimate and refined—perfect for a relaxed yet elevated Italian dining experience. The food was outstanding across the board. Every dish was beautifully prepared, full of authentic Italian flavors, and perfectly balanced. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into each plate. Nothing felt overly complicated—just classic Italian cuisine executed exceptionally well. What stood out most was how consistently delicious everything was. Each course complemented the next, creating a seamless and satisfying meal from start to finish. It’s the kind of place where you can confidently order anything on the menu and know it will be excellent. Overall, Allegro delivers an exceptional dining experience with delicious food, a charming ambiance, and a level of quality that makes it memorable. We loved every moment and would absolutely return.
Everything about this place was absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked in, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, welcoming, and attentive — they truly made the whole experience special. And the food… wow. The pasta with pesto and shrimp was hands down one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. This is easily one of the best restaurants I’ve been to, and I will definitely be coming back. Highly, highly recommend!
Andres is the best waiter ever! From the moment we sat down, he was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our experience great. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, explained the menu perfectly, and made fantastic recommendations. Our food and drinks came out quickly, and he checked in just the right amount, never intrusive, always helpful. His positive attitude and professionalism truly elevated the entire meal. If you’re lucky enough to have Andres as your waiter, you’re in for an amazing dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!
The food and the service was impeccable. Paloma was our server for the night. My bestie and I were celebrating our bdays- we are out of towners and couldn't be happier for the choice to come here. Paloma really made our experience an amazing one taking pictures for us not rushing us and being so attentive despite how incredibly busy it was. The food was amazing from the salad to the dessert!! The atmosphere was beautiful but I will say the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting and disappointing to walk into. So that would be my only recommendation is to be a little attentive to the upkeep of the restrooms. But all in all- 100% recommend!!!!
I visited this place during Restaurant Week and was genuinely impressed by how delightful the entire meal turned out. The three-course menu was full of flavor, and the serving sizes were more than enough to share. The setting added so much charm, creating a warm and inviting vibe that made the evening even more enjoyable. It is a wonderful spot for a date night, and I would happily come back again!
Sunday Brunch Perfection at Allegro Restaurant & Bar 🍳🥂 Allegro was the perfect spot for our Sunday brunch! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond — everyone was incredibly assistful, friendly, and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. They even accommodated us bringing our dog 🐶 and seated us in the perfect shaded area with plenty of space for all of us. It made the whole experience so comfortable and welcoming. We ordered a bunch of different dishes, and you could smell, taste, and see the authenticity in every bite. The flavors, presentation, and quality were all top-notch — and that was before the endless mimosas even kicked in! 🍾🍊 The restaurant sits in a vibrant part of Little Italy, but the seating area gives you that tucked-away, relaxed vibe where you can actually enjoy your meal without the busy street energy overwhelming you. They also offer outdoor seating if you prefer to soak up some sunshine ☀️. Overall, Allegro Restaurant & Bar checks all the boxes — great food, great drinks, great people, and an amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun and delicious brunch spot in Little Italy!
We had an amazing time at Alegro in Little Italy! Silvio was truly the best – incredibly attentive, warm, and made us feel like friends from the start. The food was fantastic (grilled octopus, tuna tartare, zucchini flowers with gorgonzola, and the pasta in the cheese wheel), but honestly Silvio made the whole experience unforgettable. Can’t wait to come back and of course I hope Silvio take care of us like he knows 🫶🏻
Food, service, atmosphere was amazing on the busy chilly night! We sat outside and enjoyed every second we spent there. Menu allows you to pick a really good dish (not only pasta). Their octopus is phenomenal! Oysters are only one type but really tasty. Definitely on the list to come back!
Went last night as the first dinner meal on vacation. Came here because of tiktok and it didn't disappoint. Can’t remember my server name but he has long beautiful hair he was great at giving suggestions and attentive. I highly recommend the calamari & shrimp appetizer and the pesto pasta both had great flavor! I will dine here again when I'm in SD! I even got a free photo before I left.
The atmosphere at Allegro in Little Italy is nice, and the decor sets a welcoming tone. The hostess was friendly, which was a good start. Unfortunately, the dining experience didn’t live up to expectations. We ordered the artichoke appetizer and the Parmesan wheel for two. The artichokes tasted like they came straight from a jar, simply garnished with capers—definitely not what we expected. The pasta had potential, but it tasted as if it had been sitting for hours, and the sauce was disappointingly bland. It needed seasoning and something to enhance the flavor. The best part was the Parmesan wheel scrapings, but there was barely a teaspoon on each plate. Service was another letdown. Our server never cleared our appetizer plates, never checked in on us, and seemed distracted when we asked for the check—even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. For the price, the food and service just didn’t match up. It’s a beautiful spot, but sadly, we left feeling underwhelmed.
Ummmm. This was the worst and most expensive happy hour of our trip here in SD. The waiter clearly couldn’t keep up with the tables, that were assigned to him. And then we had a manager who clearly saw he was struggling, but just kept walking around. At some point, the storm got really bad yesterday water was going coming through the patio, but they didn’t move anyone till things got bad. The “chefs” specials were also a huge miss, the lobster bisque (tasted like soup pizza) and the lobster fettuccini, were good in the moment but when we got back to our hotel. It was not a good night. The real kicker that with tip this came out to $300, which was not even worth the “expreso” martinis I had. Beware… Maybe avoid happy hour lol
This place was a disaster from start to finish. Service was painfully slow — we had to remind our server multiple times about things we’d already ordered, and it took over half an hour just to get drinks. The garlic knots we ordered “ran out,” yet somehow appeared on another table 45 minutes later. The food didn’t redeem the experience either. The short rib & mushroom tortello pasta was bland and heavy, the gnocchi was undercooked and mushy (though somehow the only thing I halfway enjoyed), and the Brussels sprouts and truffle fries were straight-up bad. The only saving grace was the bar — the dirty martini was excellent — but it’s hard to enjoy a good drink when everything else is such a mess. For the prices they charge, there’s no excuse for service and food this bad. To top it off, they automatically tacked on a 20% gratuity because we were a large party with a reservation — which would’ve been fine if the service had been even remotely competent. Instead, it just felt insulting to pay a premium for being ignored all night.
