El Charro is an absolute must try!! The owners always greet you with a smile and show appreciation for each customer. The inside of the resturant is clean and welcoming. My family and I have tried a variety of items off the menu and haven’t been disappointed. The food here is authentic and made with love.

Family and I came here as we were visiting SeaWorld. Wanted something to eat after, my mom saw this place on the map and decided to try it out. It was only one guy taking and making orders, it was quick even though he was by himself. I ordered 3 carne asada tacos and 3 carnitas tacos (I like mine plain), my other family members ordered sopes, tortas and burritos & everything was delicious. Mind you my dad & husband are both picky eaters and for them to say their torta & burrito was surprising for us

For me, the biggest reason this place gets 5 stars (besides the delicious food) is the cleanliness. I chatted with the cashier and she mentioned how much the owner likes to keep the place clean, and it shows. The dining area was practically spotless and the staff cleaned up as soon as a mess was present. Typically, hole-in-the-wall places can look pretty sloppy or dusty, but not here. If cleanliness is your jam, I recommend here for sure. Now, onto the food. I got the Shrimp a la Diabla Burrito because I love spicy, but oh man that is a spicy burrito, even for me. I still loved it and it was delicious, but just a warning to make sure you can handle your spice before you bite into one of those. Also, I can't go to a Mexican restaurant without sampling their fish tacos and this one was no exception. One of the best fish tacos I've tried. Try the variety of their salsas too. I definitely can't wait to go back here next time I'm down in San Diego.

I am not one to be hyperbolic about food. I have eaten hundreds of delicious burritos across this country. That said, the California burrito I ordered here was the best burrito I have ever had in my entire life. Crisp fries, fresh vibrant guac, airy sour cream, a perfect flaky tortilla, tender incredibly seasoned carne, all in perfect ratios to each other. And to top it off, a thick, citrusy green salsa that just sent me over the moon. Thank you for the memory. When I think of San Diego, I will be thinking of this burrito. I will never forget.

Elizabeth greeted me with a smile and was very kind when taking my order, after ordering i was immediately given my horchata and went to sit down at a table. the atmosphere was very welcoming and pleasant, after a few minutes she brought out my tacos witch were very fresh and a great portion for the price! each taco was completely full of meat, cilantro and onions, and was perfectly filling. the hot sauce and salsas were also very good, they had mild, medium, and hot with great flavor and spice level. elizabeth checked in to make sure everything was good and it definitely was, after i ate me and her had a kind conversation about the food and my experience witch was really nice. i left in a better mood then i arrived in, over all a super solid taco shop with great people, a friendly environment and really good food, i will be coming back again! 10/10

This little place is amazing. I finally tried out this little kind of a hole in the wall taco shop and as soon as I came in I was greeted by the sweetest girl, I told her it was my first time there and she was so happy for me to try the food. I ordered the surf and turf burrito which was $14.50. The burrito was a very good size and filled with flavorful tender meat and shrimp and a bunch of other yummy goodies. The burrito was so full of flavor and also lots of love. I would come back just because of the girls sweet service but now that the food was delicious too… I’m going to tell everyone about this place. Thank you guys for the great service and delicious food.

I have zero complaints about this place. If I lived in town, I would visit more often. I highly recommend you go. You will be pleased and well fed whether you are picky or not.

$13 for a breakfast burrito and a can of soda. Burrito was mostly tortilla and their green sauce was👎. Service is SLOW too. I love Mexican food, but every taco shop is charging more than ever, even though the quality isn’t there. I wouldn’t return.

Arrived at 3:10 pm hoping to try their food for the first time. The sign on the door said "went to grocery store back by 3 pm," but the lit sign flashed OPEN, and the OPEN sign said, well, OPEN. Giving them the benefit of the doubt and the fact that there are four large stores within a 1/4 mile, I waited until 3:30 pm (inside my vehicle), when a young man backs into a spot right in front of the restaurant talking on his cell phone with nothing else in his hands, saying something about how annoying customers were for waiting in front of the store trying to open the door when they could see that no one was inside. I left. I returned the next day to give them one more chance. They were closed at 7:04 am the following morning. They are not open 24 hours. They open when they please.

I have not eaten the food here. I deliver food for a third party company. My review is about the experience I had picking up to go orders at this restaurant. Whenever I arrive at the predetermined time picked by the restaurant as to when the order will be ready for delivery. They are consistently always late with their orders and they do not update it in the app to let the driver know that the food isn't ready on time and then what time it will be ready we're just left to stand around waiting. I just got through trying to pick up an order at 1:00 a.m. it was supposed to be ready at 1:03 a.m. I came in I asked for the order showed the guy the order on my phone he said that's not ready yet. I stood at the counter for at least 10 minutes while he took other people's orders that came in he made their order gave it to them those people left I sat down and waited for 30 minutes. He kept making everybody else's orders but mine. Finally at 1:37 a.m. I said are you making this order he said I don't have that order. So I went to the counter I showed him the app again and he said I never got that order. And then I guess that was that. it was too late to call the third party company so I called the customer and let them know that I guess their food wasn't coming because the restaurant never got their order or so the guy claimed. Because when I first came in and asked for it he said that order is not ready. And he let me stand at the counter for 10 minutes and then sit down for another 30 he never once said to me I never got your order. Not until I waited for 30 minutes and then asked him again he said I never got that order. I only get paid on orders that are delivered. So after driving to the restaurant waiting for 45 minutes I was then informed there's no order. And the $23 that I was supposed to make on that order just evaporated into thin Air. Most restaurants that for some reason don't get their third-party order will make the order after you show them it on the app. But this guy did not he just said I never got to order. So I wasted 45 minutes didn't get paid anything and the customer didn't get their order even though they paid for it. the inside of the restaurant looks very dirty there was some kind of liquid coming out from the bottom of the drink machine that was sitting on the counter so the machine leaks whatever it is. This guy went from going in the kitchen and cooking and going to the register and giving people change and taking their money and he never once washed his hands. He went from the kitchen to the register at least 5 to 6 times in the 30 minutes I was sitting there and he never once watched his hands. Which is a health department violation. So I strongly do not recommend this restaurant.
