Great place, great food! Love the burritos here. Tuesdays, they make their own tortillas for a GREAT Taco Tuesday experience! My regulars are the Cali Burrito and Surf and Turf burrito.
Honestly sooo good. I got the Cali burrito and it did not disappoint. Super flavorful, filling, and fresh. The fries inside were perfect and the meat was seasoned so well. Definitely coming back!
Love the food here! They’re in the process of changing the shop name but I hope the food will remain the same. If you can handle spicy, get the Diablo Shrimp burrito then add the Avocado Salsa and Habanero Salsa to each bite. Pure deliciousness.
This place has the best chicken tacos in San Diego. I don’t know what ingredients they use to marinate the chicken but it’s amazing!!
La Fuente never disappoints when it comes to food! Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. You can really taste the care that goes into the cooking, and it’s clear they work hard and take pride in what they do in the kitchen. If there’s one small area for improvement, it would be a little more friendliness at the front counter to match the warmth that comes from the kitchen. Other than that, this place is a true gem and a spot I’ll keep coming back to again and again. Highly recommend!
While its not renamed taco man yet the tacos are the star here. Skip the wild burrito combos and just grab a taco with almost any protein. Hard or soft shell, and you'll be fine
This used to be my go-to local taqueria, and I still have a lot of love for it. Over the years, though, rising prices and smaller portions have made it harder for me to visit as often. Most of the flavors are still great, especially the Baja fish taco special, but it’s not always easy to justify most costs given their portion sizes. That said, the atmosphere and seating are excellent, and when everything clicks, the food really can be too. I hope the restaurant is able to find a better balance moving forward, because with fairer portions or improved service to match the prices, this could easily become a regular stop for me again.
We got a spread: quesadilla, chips and guacamole, Chile relleno combo plate, horchata, and churro bites. It was about $60 for two people which feels a little expensive for counter service. That being said the people behind the counter were extremely polite and friendly. The food took about 10 minutes. I would say the food was average. Bigger portions for sure.
Went to Sharp's Memorial hospital and took a break from waiting for my loved one to be released from ER. Wanted to go to a Mexican place that was open late. To find the place using Google Maps took me to the strip of businesses, but actually finding the restaurant was tricky. There is no signage for any of the shops...maybe the strip is remodeling?? Idk. It took a kind person parked next to me to tell it was down the way at the end of the row of shops. I had the shredded beef quesadilla. The tortilla was hand made and delicious! The shredded beef flavor was mildly had the Mexican flavor, but when you add in the sauces, that's what made it taste really good! I would come again if I was in the area again.
Not to bad. Prices are really good for the portion sizes (large). I ordered something very simple, quesadilla and BRC burrito and the ingredients were tasty and plentiful. They have good tortillas. There is a salsa bar, if you like spicy its for you. Good large spread out seating area. Wasnt to noisy or crowded feeling at lunchtime. It's near the small airport and Rady Children's Hospital making it an easy spot to grab food if you are waiting for someone or need to eat after a long day. They also do breakfast. Restaurant was clean, bathroom needed a little TLC and the staff was meh, but I'm willing to cut them slack, you never know if they just dealt with a Karen before I got there. Theres plenty of easy free parking. Overall, I'm full, and will return.
Honestly the food here is really good although when I came there was a lady with glasses And some tattoos on her arms that seriously had really bad breath while I was asking a question and she is too sassy and rude I did not see a name tag on her but I found a picture of her in the reviews. I think this restaurant is very good it is just the workers that need manners
Here we are again. The food is good but the service absolutely sucks. Triple check your order, stick a fork in it to make sure you get what you ordered. This is a carne asada torta with no carne asada. Glad I spent that much money on beans. Call to get a refund and they said I have to come in. That's exactly why I took it to go so I don't have to sit there. I'm going to give this place one more shot and then I'm done. The food is good but check it if you order to go. This was supposed to be beef, bean, and cheese. I'm not sure what this is, but it's not what I ordered. They mess up our order most of the time.
This was my first visit here. Ordered their Baja Fish Tacos. Tacos are advertised with avocado, my tacos didn’t have any avocado. 🤷♂️. I don’t like to complain, so I went about my day. I do like the salsa bar, and the fact they serve adult beverages is a plus. My only complaint is, is paying over $16 but not getting what’s advertised. Or make mention that you’re out of avocados.
I don’t understand such high rating / reviews for this place, it is misleading. This place has fallen to middle of the pack Mexican restaurant. Before raising the price multiple times, make efforts to raise the quality & service which is lacking. Passing down the cost to your customer base without anything to show for will not sit well with customers. They still have Taco Tuesday deal; mini tacos for $2 but it’s nothing to rave about. There are numerous better Mexican restaurant options in San Diego or definitely south of the border.
The food here is good, I recommend not sitting inside as the women they hire are obnoxious and rude creating a trashy atmosphere but other than that it’s okay, the foods pretty good.
Had the surf and turf burrito tonight. For $14 including tax I was expecting it to be bomb, since this is almost the same as sit down restaurant prices, but it was just bad. I basically just picked out the shrimp and ate part of tortilla and tossed the rest. For some reason everything was smothered in straight sour cream instead of crema/ white sauce. Especially the beef was completely covered, along with the random filler veggies thrown in. The picture I'm posting is what was left. Only thing I could taste was the sour cream. This is not real Mexican food it's more taco bell fast food level quality + style.
Disappointing Service — Won’t Be Returning We live just down the street from this location and were excited to support a local, Mexican-owned business, but unfortunately, our experiences with customer service have been consistently poor. The first time my son and I visited, I asked about the flan, and the cashier rolled her eyes at me — not a welcoming way to engage with customers. A few weeks later, my husband went after work and was told they couldn’t make a clamato at 5 pm because they had run out, and his change was literally tossed onto the table at him. Yesterday was our final visit. The cashier with glasses gave us dirty looks as soon as we walked in, stared at us, and continued sweeping the area we sat in. It was 8 pm — hours before closing at midnight — and we were the only diners. We love supporting local shops, especially Mexican-owned businesses, but the repeated rude and dismissive service has made it clear we will not be returning.
Ordered on the Uber Eats app 30 minutes ahead because I was in a hurry came to pick it up they gave me nachos instead of fries I let the cashier know she just gave me a dirty look like she didn’t care. Made me wait another 20 minutes for them to make me the right order didn’t even offer a free drink or anything she was to busy giggling with her co worker went to the salsa bar and it low stock and it was barely 8 p.m and they close at 11 but I guess the cashier is just to busy doing nothing instead of prepping the salsa bar and being attentive.
Got a breakfast burrito from here that had multiple hairs in it, one hair was even heat fused to a piece of bacon. We reached out to resolve this amicably and two different employees said we would be refunded, but it never happened. The photos are screenshots from the video I have of pulling hair from the burrito.
Came here after having a long day at work. This girl gave me an ugly look and attitude after I told her she gave me the rong order.also, no one is wearing a name tag, but it was the girl with the glasses. She was also talking her time to take care of other stuff then to take care of customers! differently, not coming back !!! I think there's more bad reviews about her !! Other employees aren't rude like her !!!
disgusting food and a polling service. Avoid at all costs. I came here tonight based on recommendations from my neighbors at Olympus Corsair across the street. They kept raving about how great the food is. The moment I walked in Mexican lady who was sweeping the dining room stopped me right at my tracks while I was heading to the restroom to wash my hands before picking up my takeout order. in front of all customers, she says restrooms are for customers only. This was embarrassing because she said in a very condescending way. I told her I was there for being a customer and actually picking up an order for myself and my friends. Instead of apologizing, she took the fence and said that I don't need to get upset. Really? She just embarrassed me as soon as I walked in as a pain Customer. I end up picking up food and when we got home, it was really disgusting. Ordered the Birria Ramen and California burrito. The Ramen is not even worthy of my dog to eat it. California burrito was standard but dry. Experience. Was terrible
