Update 2025 We had our shrimp pho with beef broth and my wife has a beer pho. Our food tasted good as always, our waiter however never came by our table to full our drinks or anything. We had to be raising our hand several times in order to call her attention. 2023 Our friends invited us to this place located on Fifth Street. Can't deny the fact I was impressed by food quality as well as attention to customers. Great place, great location as well. Will definitely be back soon

This is one of my go to's for vegetarian PHO and for when friends visit and I need to show them a favorite spot. I've been getting vegan pho for over 5 years and all of my meat eater friends love it too.

To our surprise, our vermicelli dish was extra large! Larger than we expected. Definitely not the normal bowl size we usually order at other pho restaurants. Our server had informed us that they offered a larger bowl, another size up for $21. Our dish was delicious and generously portioned (grilled chicken and pork). Just right seasoning, however, the noodles could have used a little longer cooking time. Our server was friendly and welcoming. The open setting, cushioned chairs, Vietnamese picture frame decor, chill music, Pho Fifth Avenue, in Hillcrest was a nice dining experience. I plan to return

After a week of theme park food, this was a much needed lunch. The filet mignon beef pho we had was delicious. The broth had amazing flavor and the beef was tender. We also ordered shrimp spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce as our appetizer. Overall, great food, great value and great atmosphere. PSA - The background music is a bit loud so just disclaimer if you might be sensitive to sound.

I stop here after my 10 mile walk in Balboa Park. If you like a lot of protein in your Phõ this is the place to go. The large has lots of protein that will fill you up. You get get an adequate amount of noodles in my opinion. The Spring Rolls are very good as well. I always go here in the middle of my 10 mile walk to rest and refuel. Definitely a place to go if you like Phõ.

Came here around 2pm with my mom. It was pretty much empty. Hence, I enjoyed the space all to ourselves. We ordered the shrimp roll which was refreshing but nothing mind blowing but the combination pho(large).. broth was amazing..in parr with authentic pho. We also got the pork sandwich. It's cheap, flavourful, and fills you up. Parking wasn't a problem, I found one across the street and did Apple pay for 2hrs. Overall the service is quick. Your food will arrive within 10min. Disclaimer: just visiting San Diego from NYC. Mom was craving for something warm after the cold flight.

Located in the ❤️ of Hillcrest…Pho Fifth has some do the tastiest Pho I’ve had in San Diego (including on convoy 🤯). Not Pictured were the shrimp spring rolls which were devoured prior to any pictures being taken. This is a great spot to go to whenever but especially during May Gray/June Gloom or newly introduced grAypril. Parking is tough around there so find a spot within a few blocks and take it!

I just have to say that this location is overall amazing. The staff is nice and quick, even when every table is being occupied. We are regulars so they know our usual order and even bring out chili oil without having to ask. It’s the little things that matter! Food quality is always consistent and great. The setting inside is quiet, casual and clean. If you have not stopped in to taste, I highly recommend you come and find out for yourself how good this place is. My order today was filet mignon pho and I added chicken. Beef broth is my fav. We normally order the spring rolls as well.

My absolute top joint for pho. I’ve been checking out most of San Diego downtown/uptown pho spots and this is hands down the best most well prepared broth/fixings. Add ons welcome and a great list of beers. I would bring any pho lover here with the up most confidence!

The egg noodles were soft tasty and veggies were delicouis. The peanut sauce of the roll with shrimp was excellent. Waiter was excellent in serving more glass of water when i needed it. This place is amazing! I have never had pho this cheap will super large portion! They did not skimp out on noodles and meat. And the quality is superb with the super rich broth. 👍 Great service and easy to find. Parking was easy and it was just around the back. Definitely better than most super expensive and popular places I’ve gone to. I love the quiet environment. Super low key where you will be served quickly. You won’t be disappointed. Will come again when I’m back in San Diego area.

I usually love Pho which is probably why this was such a disappointing experience. The broth was very bland and the noodles were stuck together and al dente which is not how I like rice noodles. Ill try somewhere else before I try this spot again.

We ordered Uber Eats. Order took an hour. Soup came luke warm and the steak meat came raw in a plastic bag. We are in a hotel. So no way go warm up the broth to cook the raw meat they sent to us. Why wouldn't you add the meat into the broth before delivery? 43 dollars wasted bc we can't eat the food delivered. And no seal on any containers so we cannot confirm if driver tampered with the food.

First time ordering Doordash from this joint bc of the Google reviews. Big disappointment. I had the Bun/Vermicelli with beef and spring rolls. Weight wise I don't think it was even 4oz of meat. It was paper thin and not satisfying for what a beef should be. They put grill marks on it like it was specially cooked. It was a waste of money for the amount of meat they give you. The spring rolls where nothing special and dry. I really didn't like my food. And the Doordash delivery was lame. And to top it off, they didn't give me any silverware or napkins. If I wasn't in a hotel, I would have to eat it with my hands. I ended up finding a better place in LA. It was cheaper and tasted way better.

I am a DoorDash driver, and I arrived at your restaurant on Wednesday, 02/25/2026, at 9:44 PM to pick up an order. When I arrived, the door was locked. The employees were inside laughing, and my order was left outside by the entrance, unattended, while the door remained closed. This is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Leaving food outside on the street and refusing to properly assist a driver is unacceptable behavior. What made the situation worse was that when you saw me, the employees continued laughing instead of addressing the issue. I take my job seriously and expect the same level of professionalism in return. Due to this experience, I will be hesitant to accept future orders from your restaurant

Walked in at 9pm and they refused to let me dine in due to the kitchen closing early. They told me I could only order to go which makes no sense because they will still have to make food. There was people seated waiting on their food still. If a restaurant closes at 10 then they should close at 10.

Found this place on google reviews and it was very well reviewed so decided to take my girls from Colorado for a last meal before their flight. We all ordered a number 4 (pho) 2 small and 1 large, with the exception of the large m bowl, meat only and a plate of extra meat. The server got all of our orders wrong and extra meat was charged but not given. The pho was excessively sweet, did NOT TASTE AUTHENTIC and all the meat was SUPER TOUGH and chewy. I had a few bites and left my plate pretty much untouched (regardless of how much I tried to make it taste good) it wasn’t happening. The server was a bit rude after we let her know she got our orders wrong. We had to do a bathroom run before leaving and the floors were disgusting and slippery and the place is just dirty. This place is NOT the best pho spot in San Diego based on my personal opinion and experience. $12 for a small and $14 for a large +5 for extra meat NOT WORTH THE PRICE. The egg rolls were good but overpriced.
