Really good food and really good service

The portions of food served here are huge and delicious! I'm a big guy and the carne asada fries are enough for 2 or stash for leftovers, and their handmade salsas are so good! The place is clean, but small on the inside. And it's up the street from 30th Streets bars so it will be a long wait after 11 pm

I've eaten at so many taco shops in San Diego and this place is one of the best in the North Park area. Everything is reasonably priced and comes in good portions, burritos are awesome (especially their breakfast burritos), carnitas are delicious, and I love their rolled tacos. You can't beat the price and convenience of a place like this. Also, open 24 hours is pretty rad.

Stopped and on my way out of San Diego. Heading towards Indianapolis Indiana and got two carne asada burritos and asked them if they could cut them in half and double wrap them which they offer to with no issues. Also said that not putting the guacamole on them and putting them on the side would be better burrito when I got there. Thank you ❤️

An absolute BEAST of a burrito with the most bang for your buck! Saguaro’s could very well be the BEST spot in North Park for the most BANG for your BUCK Burritos!!! Friendly staff willing to make any accommodations and reliable with a 24 hour drive thru too!

Had the machaca plate and jamaica drink was delicious and filling. Sorry about the picture. I was making tacos from it. Finish the whole thing and was still hungry for more

Saguaro's was a favorite when I lived in SD and is still the first place I go right off the plane when I visit. Gotta get a horchata and a CA burrito. I wish I lived closer.

I have enjoyed my simple vegan guac bean burrito. Good beans. I love that you know right from the beginning that they don't use lard. Thank you :)

Every time I’m in town this is my first and last stop. Pro tip: get two and eat one there and take the second to go. My favorite thing is to have an airport burrito and these simply knock everyone else out of the park!

This place is located in the heart of North Park! My friend and I cruised the streets on electric skateboards and we ended up going to this spot! One thing I noticed was the nice Latin customer service lady. She was so polite and as we were leaving. She asked how was it. You can tell if a burrito is good with great flavor. When you do not have to add salsa. The salsa made it even spectacular. The green and light red sauce has a kick to it. I got the sniffles. Thank you Saguaros for making my tummy delighted!

Pretty tasty Mexican food. I really love their horchata (refills aren't free). The drive-thru is 24/7, which is great. A downside is that their parking lot is super tiny and street parking is almost impossible, but they have desserts, so maybe things even out.

J

Fairly-priced, straightforward menu offerings for Mexican food. I got a ground beef burrito with cheese that I special ordered. They were accommodating. They offer a decent selection of salsas, including a really hot red salsa. I would go back again.

R
Rick Mousaw

The food is decent for the price. The guacamole was worse than the store bought kind. The woman taking the orders at the cash register was unfriendly and seemed annoyed at everyone. This is at 8pm, not late night drunks. She was similarly gruff with the people that did drive through. A little customer service training is in order. Came back again and upgraded to 4 stars. I've come here several times. The guacamole is still horrible, but most of their food is delicious. This time I ordered the Chicken Chimichanga. It was excellent. Better than some I've paid double the price for. Tonight the service was courteous and friendly. Not the same person as last time. Overall a very good value. My only complaint, besides the guacamole, is that if you're eating there, they only have flimsy plastic utensils. It's really hard to eat a Chimichanga with those flimsy utensils.

Good place. Great adobada fries. Chincy with the extras though. They have a sign on the drive through window that says "extra hot sauce ¢25 each". They have a great salsa bar with cool extras like lime onions and roasted white peppers. (They won't give you those through the drive through)

Typical Mexican food stand. Limited seating inside. The burrito we ordered was large and tasted great. That's the extent of my experience. Price was reasonable and tasty.

Place has pretty good food. The street tacos are very good. They need to offer sausage for their breakfast burritos though.

A while back, this place was a go-to spot after a concert in North Park. It was always packed on the weekends. With the increase of other places to eat in the neighborhood, it looks like they're facing a bigger competition. Regardless, they're still pretty good for your standard Mexican food place. I recommend their California burrito here. Also, the seating area is pretty small so I recommend getting the order to-go.

I ordered a chicken taco and five rolled tacos. The chicken taco was massive. It was actually pretty tasty. The rolled tacos were a bit on the small side and lacked the flavor I was looking for. However, the hot carrots, jalapeños, and salsas were all really good. I’ll be back to try out a few more items so I can give a better review. Update: I returned to try the California burrito. As a disclaimer, I got it through the drive thru, took it home, and reheated it for 10 minutes in the oven. It was pretty good! However, it was a bit dry, due to them not giving sour cream and guacamole by default—they’re add-one, which I didn’t realize at the time. Still, a 3.9/5-star Cali burrito. Recommend adding either sour cream or guacamole to help with dryness.

Not much to say here it was after midnight and I was very hungry I needed a bean rice and cheese burrito and they made me one that was delicious and relatively affordable (let's face it, nothing is affordable anymore anywhere in this country but at least those of us in the lower 99% are all in the same boat). It was exactly what I wanted, it was quick it was delicious, and I'm glad I stopped there.

Decent food, never get my order right. I have been there maybe 3 times including today and something is always wrong with the order. This is the second time I ordered flour flautas and recieved rolled corn tacos. Not the end of the world but they are very different items and it is a bummer when you don't get what you ordered. Good prices, decent food.

North Park has been waging a war on drive thru restaurants for sometime now. Luckily there are grandfather rules which allows Saguaro's to maintain it's competitive edge over other local taco shops. There's nothing special about the food here other than you can order it without having to get out of your car. The food isn't bad, but it's just nothing special. They have basically everything that you could want out of a taco stand. The menu is enormous, but it's just repackaging the same 8 or 10 ingredients into different delivery systems. Everything cheap Mexican food should be. The rice and beans aren't always the most fresh if you go early in the day, but they usually pick up steam towards lunch. All in all, I'm glad this place is here. It's always good for soaking up a hangover.

Best taco stop shop on 30th, after a late night of drinking. Sometimes the quality is hit or miss. I've had friends who have gotten sick a few times. I haven't had any problems though. Quick and easy food for the quality and price.

It's solid. I really wanted The Taco Stand, but they were closed by the time I needed grease on Wednesday night. I popped in and got a California burrito and some chips w/ guac. The burrito was good. Nothing really to write home about, but I definitely wasn't disappointed. The chips and guac were a bit strange in that it was basically a lite order of nachos. Chips, guacamole that you get an the grocery store and a dusting of shredded cheddar cheese. Again, not awful, but I really just wanted chips and decent guac. If it's past midnight and I need Mexican, I'd go back.

This is a small taco shop with a drive-thru. The menu is pretty basic and the prices are average. The staff is nice, the service a bit slow, and the food was hot but could be slightly better tasting. I got an egg/bean/cheese breakfast burrito, and while I like that it contained a lot of egg, the salsas didn't make it an enjoyable experience since they weren't that good (more watered down flavor). Overall, it's a pretty average place.

24/7 hour shop so it’s very convenient. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed in the California burrito, as it didn’t have any sour cream or guacamole. It was pretty dry and for the price of $10 I would have expected a real California burrito

I realize trying one thing on a menu and reviewing it isn’t always a valid representation. That being said, I had a taste and I’m reviewing it anyway. Long wait for food in drive thru with only one car in front...and the prices didn’t match what was posted on the display; so service points dropped from the start. $12 and chance for the carne asada fries... I was surprised seeing the portions so that’s a plus.::then dug in looking for flavor and there was none...made me crave animal style fries from in&out. They should add some herbs and grilled onions or even a slaw mix..texture and taste wise it needed something. But the portion looked good. May return and try another item.

Very disappointed no sour cream on California burrito, and a little bit of 🧀 come on, be fair....

The tortilla is perfect, very thin and delicious. They do not put enough beans (in their veggie burrito) and they do not put the cheese directly on the beans when you ask to add cheese. These changes alone would make the food rating go up at least another star if not more. Cheese directly on the beans makes it melt a little and taste waaay better. They also do a the strange habit of not fully cutting the pieces in half when you ask to have the burrito cut in half. I have always wondered if all these kitchens just have poorly sharpened knives or what is going on....

We've been using the carnitas mini TJ tacos as our standard barometer for various taco shops, and these were among the worst we've found. Their offering is five mini tacos for just under $10.00, which is a more generous offer than any other place (4 for $9-10 is "standard"). The size of the tortillas was not as big as others, nor as small, and were fairly fresh. The portion of meat was generous, but the carnitas were dry, seemed to have been reheated (they were piping hot), pretty salty, and otherwise fairly flavorless. To be fair, they did not list carnitas as an option on the menu, but I thought I'd ask, and they were willing to accommodate our request. There was enough onion and almost enough cilantro, but no lime or lemon wedges and no guacamole. Those last two omissions were deal breakers for us (in addition to the dry meat). :-( The green salsa was flavorful and not too hot, the red was also tasty and packed more punch. Based on our one item yardstick, we will not be back. There are so many other great drive through taco shops in San Diego (and one of our new favorites just down the street!), why bother. Life is too short to eat bad tacos. :-D

The customer service is really crapy. They are rude except for like 3 employees the others have poor customer service. If you ask for a refund or if they can redo your order because you don't want burnt food they get mad or say no refund and tell you that there's nothing wrong with the food sorry we can't help. Like they give refunds and they won't fix the order. They turn you down. That's not right. And That's definitely not customer service. Like this happened four times. I was nice to about asking to fix the order too. I wasted money on food I couldn't eat. Try to ask for a refund or to fix the order if messed up and see what they say, look, and do.

At the drive thru, ordered a #2 & horchata. Paid, got my #2 & change but forgot the horchata. Parked my car & walked in to find out there was no horchata but they allowed me to order & pay for it. I won't be returning because I felt ripped off. There are plenty of great Mexican food places that don't trick or rip off customers. The food was not bad, but not great.

B
Brandon Slaughter

Unfortunately the breakfast burrito I ordered was made incorrectly and the ingredients that it did come with were overcooked and extremely salty. Our veggie burrito we ordered did not have guac or sour cream (maybe it’s not supposed to?) which usually comes on veggie burritos and it was mostly rice and lettuce. Super bummed right now.

Won't visit here again. The staff is discourteous when you're trying to order - rushing you. The carne asada was dry and way too salty. Presentation was lacking, just didn't look very appetizing. They'd given me a wrong item in my order, I called them and they did allow me to come back the next day for a replacement, however, rude again at the drive-thru and pick up window. Gave two stars because the pollo asada wasn't the worst, still a long-shot away from being worth the $, though. I'll stick with Filiberto's on Swift / 35th. That's an AWESOME taco shop, with good quality food and excellent customer service.

Just ok. Their consistent at burning their tortillas, then hiding it on the inside. I've also experienced rock hard rolled tacos on more than one occasion. On the upside they are the only shop open in north park after 11pm.

Horchata is great, flautas are great, but definitely don’t get any kind of sea food. I got fish tacos a few years ago and they were disgusting. Today I ordered chicken fajitas but they gave me shrimp and the shrimp were not cleaned 🤢

What used to be amazing quality, has turned into frozen foods ( fries) that are undercooked which leaves you with the most jacked up food you could even want for a nice whopping burrito for nine bucks.. before....Food great . Watch adding the rice beans etc. It's almost a buck to add anything. Cheese. Rice beans. Can get pricey fast!

R

Ordered a burrito over the phone. 5 minutes they said. I got there in ten I asked for well done fries on my Cali burrito. I had to wait five minutes. They were undercooked to say the least. I promised myself to not ever go here again seeing as though the salsa is probably what makes me sick afterwards but it was a slow time. Go here all you want but this place is always a letdown. Go the extra mile and go to Colima's.

Me and my friends went here hoping to have some good tacos after walking miles aimlessly in search of a good taco place open at 11 pm. We came across this place hoping it was an unknown gem. I saw the abeula picture on the wall and thought I was about to eat good. I ordered two abodaba tacos. First impressions the taco were large, too large, it was an ominous sign. Then I bite into and felt my soul leave my body as I tasted nothing but disappointment and shame. I was bamboozled by the abuela picture, please remove it she is turning in her grave at these tacos.

The customer service has always been poor here, but I was there the other day. I get off at 12 at night so it's not a lot of options it's open 24 hours. I literally saw the cook with his bare hands holding two tacos that he was about to drop in the deep fryer and prepare step to the side out of sight and sneeze I could see and hear this. I had not paid for my order yet so I just walked out and left. I've had a couple bad experience with this place but getting off at 12 I figured I'd give them another chance because I was hungry. I will never visit this place again customer service is one thing but sanitation is a whole other problem. If you choose to go there good luck!!!!

The restaurant looks awful on the inside as on the outside. I ordered a chicken buritto, and all it had inside it was just chicken... Absolutely disgusting. Also, some parts of the chicken were raw. I told them I wanted to eat inside, and they gave me a to go.... Hopefully, I won't get food poisoning. You should never go there no matter how hungry you are!

*Staff does not carry sense of urgency. I went there on a Monday night and I was the only customer. It took at least 3 minutes for the cashier to take my order since she and the cook was watching a video in the kitchen (and I was in their line of sight). It was really late and there were no other places open so even though I knew the food is always mediocre or below, I went in. The cashier's face read "I hate you, I hate my job and I hate myself". I can somewhat understand dealing with the highly intoxicated clientele could be hard on someone's nerves (especially on the weekends) but if it's that bad on you, maybe it's time to look for another place to work. No apologies for ignoring me, didn't ask "for here or to go", no thank you. She put everything in a bag, left it on the counter and went back to chat with the cook. Chicken tacos: Lukewarm chicken with ice cold shredded cheese and ice cold lettuce. This place feeds on the captive audience and doesn't care about food quality at all. Never going back.

I used to like until they started limiting my Carne Asada Fries. They used to feel it too the brim which was worth the $15.07.Recently they just started cutting back drastically on my food portions even with regular burritos. It’s probably because i don’t tip them.Oh, well i guess $16 and hour is not enough. My 2 year old daughter and I got very sick after eating here. My wife was fine and our meal at Saguaro’s was the only one she didn’t share, so the cause is pretty obvious. I called the restaurant to report it, but after I shared what happened they quickly spoke in Spanish in the background and pretended not to hear me. They stopped picking up their phone after that and never called back. That could’ve been handled better in my opinion.
