Meet a long time friend here for a quick linch. The burger was amazing and the tater tots added something different than the usual fries. Not sure if this place is still a club after hours but it used to be a pretty cool spot back in the day to hang out. Drinks, ladies and good times.

Blue Moon is back on tap! They have every NFL game simultaneously, and they serve a great fried potato product. The bloody mary is the best i've ever had that didn't have bacon or a Slim Jim involved. Two hot peppers (one of them a habanero) and lots of heat in the drink left my mouth burning for a good long while.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The beer was cold and refreshing. The tots, while tasty, were not quite what I imagined when I ordered them. Stopped into watch the MLB All Star Game, while it pops up as a sports bar and I even saw it listed as an award winning sports bar, this is not a sports bar. It was more hipster meets geek. But still a good time. I loved the wide open windows that let the fresh air in and allowed you to watch the world walk by.

Great Bar! Part of the Verant group, they only own great bars! A trendy cool vibe with a nice layout. Every night of the week is some thing different to keep it interesting. Thursday nights through sunday the bar is extremely crowded and takes some time to get a. Drink. I would recommend coming during the week or here on the weekend only for brunch ... great brunch spot with bloody mary bar

Cool spot to hangout and watch sports. Their happy hour is great as well. Has a big variety of food for a fair price and it’s everyday which is nice. Back order on all the HH beer though so ask what is available. Had come to watch the fights, took about an hour to get them on tv. It was difficult to get our waitress to come to the table and order drinks. When I asked who I thought was our waitress to get another drink and close out the bill, there was a different waitress responsible for our table. Whole encounter was just really odd and put a dent in the experience.

Loooool what is this place. A $5 cover to get into a bar with mediocre music. I didn’t realize we were in the ghetto, be ready for the pat down from their security team. I had fun waiting as 4 bartenders were unable to service more than one person every 5 minutes. While you’re disassociating from reality during your wait, you can enjoy some nice space themed slideshows on the tvs. East LA, I barely knew you. Glad to see they’re trying to bring it to North Park.

This is a serious complaint. My government issued ID was taken and not returned by a worker at this business. After doing my research this is not the first time this has happened. There appears to be a pattern of staff assuming someone is intoxicated or from out of town and then keeping their ID, assuming the person will not follow up and will be forced to replace it. This was not a misunderstanding. I was given false names by employees which I later verified were not their real names. I have documented the timeline and details. And to be clear, race does matter. This is a nighttime issue and Black patrons are disproportionately affected whether the business wants to acknowledge it or not. I expect accountability and a response. If this is dismissed I am prepared to share the full story publicly.

The security with curly hair had to keep a minimum age job handler security poorly while my friends birthday. Especially which was before my friends thanksgiving birthday which was by the way not packed at all. He kept yapping at a client besides me while carrying me out while I was filling one drink in. This employee should be fired he worked on 11/26/15 we broke one of my nails and I spent over $200 there and I am a regular there

Super unwelcoming staff. Super slow day and was immediately berated by a bartender for asking when their happy hour was. Dirty bar overall. Would not recommend.

DO NOT COME HERE! I have always enjoyed coming to True North for the music and a good time with friends. But last night I was really disappointed and I’m truly at a loss for words. Before the end of the night, I closed my tab and then the server came back around to my intoxicated friend and recharged her the same tab that I had just paid. If taking advantage of your customers is the way you run your business.. you should be ashamed of yourselves. Definitely just lost a group of customers.

I used to enjoy visiting True North Tavern, but my recent experiences have been incredibly concerning, and I feel the need to share some serious issues that need addressing. First, the health and safety standards here are a mess. I’ve heard there’s been multiple health department visits and fines, and it’s not hard to see why. During my last visit, the booths were flooded with water, creating a musty, unpleasant smell that clearly hadn’t been dealt with properly. What’s even more alarming is the mold found in the beer lines. The drinks we ordered tasted off, and now I’m questioning the cleanliness and safety of anything served here. To make matters worse, the kitchen mysteriously shut down during service with no explanation, leaving many customers stranded without food orders. The bathrooms are another nightmare. They’re filthy and unsafe, with fights breaking out and evidence of drug use. It’s become a place where you just don’t feel comfortable or safe. It’s disappointing to see this decline, but until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend True North Tavern to anyone. Health and safety should be non-negotiable, and sadly, that doesn’t seem to be a priority here.
