Not much to say other than the food was outstanding—some of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. They also have a great selection of wines. The steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and the dessert was just as delicious. The restaurant offers beautiful views of the city, making the experience even more special. Whether you go for brunch or dinner, you’ll get a different vibe each time. The sunset views are stunning, and at night the city lights look absolutely amazing. Definitely make sure to get reservations!

So delicious! The portions are large and absolutely delicious! Our server, Jamie, was on point and very helpful when we had any questions. I had the whole fish. It was the best serving of fish I have ever had (and, I love fish!). My hubby had lasagna. It was enough to serve 2 or more. And, very delicious. The cocktails are ample and tasty. Especially the old fashioned. We were fortunate enough to get a seat with the most amazing view. Such a pleasure. The ambiance is amazing!!

Seneca delivers an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the vibe, service, and atmosphere felt effortlessly refined. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and prior to our reservation, the restaurant thoughtfully reached out to ask for his name—an early sign of the exceptional attention to detail to come. Upon being seated, my husband was presented with a personalized Happy Birthday menu, along with a celebratory drink and dessert. These elegant, personalized touches truly set Seneca apart and made the evening feel incredibly special. The food was exquisite, beautifully executed, and full of flavor, while the cocktails were equally impressive—balanced, creative, and indulgent. Every detail felt intentional. I highly recommend making a reservation and experiencing Seneca for yourself. This is luxury dining done right.

Excellent spot for Italian. Recommended by a friend, this place has a great mix of ambience, amazing food and great service. The bar has a wonderful view of the city and the atmosphere is very cozy. Server Hannah was fantastic with great recommendations. The Focaccia was some of the best I've ever had, and the prawns were delicious as was the pizza. Highly recommend a visit if you are in San Diego, looking for a great Italian experience.

We went here yesterday for my friend's birthday dinner. Our server was Michelle, who was excellent, attentive and navigated us so well through the menu. We had the arancini, tuna tartar, focaccia bread and white sauce clam pasta with the banana bread for dessert. All were delicious and satisfying but the dessert had to be our favorite. Dynamic flavors and textures in one bite. We loved it! They really make it special when you let them know it's a celebration. The ambiance and design of this place is also so magical with so much attention to detail. I believe it was the manager who also came over to check on us with the rain and for the occasion. They really went above and beyond and we appreciated every aspect of the experience.

The ambience was amazing and the food and service was great. We got the Caesar salad, Brussels sprouts, and mortadella pizza. Everything was delicious. Our server Adam and his assistant (forgot her name sadly) were great. We went on a Saturday night and it was really busy, you definitely need to make reservations well in advance. This is definitely a spot I recommend and if you’re making a reservation try to request outdoor seating because the view of the city was gorgeous!

and everything was amazing! The Panna Cotta Flip was absolutely delicious. We also tried the Dark Chocolate Nemesis Torte and the Pear Hazelnut Mousse — not very sweet, but still good if that’s your preference. The sunset view was incredible and made the whole experience even better. Seneca is owned by the same restaurant group as Born & Raised, Lafayette Hotel, and Morning Glory, and the quality definitely matches. Highly recommend for drinks, dessert, and a beautiful view!

Truly a beautiful surprise! We didn’t know what to expect…wanted a great view and a cocktail and got so much more: great food, perfect birthday surprise drink, and a gorgeous October afternoon sunshine. We came around 2:30 and stayed until dinner service was about to start…so definitely not crowded at this time.

Seneca Trattoria delights with its delicious Italian cuisine, gorgeous setting, calming ambiance, and stunning panoramic views! Be transported in this beautifully designed rooftop restaurant that makes you feel like you're sitting in a garden in Italy. Highly recommend the Gnocchi Pomodoro with chicken.

Amazing experience from start to finish! A huge shout-out to our hostess Gabby — she was so warm and welcoming, setting the tone for a perfect evening. We started with the Wood Fired Prawns (bagna cauda, fettunta) — perfectly cooked with a smoky flavor that was absolutely delicious. The Truffle Arancini were crispy on the outside, creamy inside, and full of rich truffle aroma. The Tuna Tartar was super fresh and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is elegant but relaxed, perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. Everything from the service to the food was top-notch. Highly recommend Seneca Trattoria — and ask for Gabby when you go!

From the moment you step out off the elevators you are welcomed with an amazing atmosphere. The service was superb and second to none. The drinks we ordered were magnificent. The best old fashioned I've ever had, and great mojito! You really need to be a great bartender to be able to make a great mojito. Food was great too! And those views, just gorgeous. Of course I highly recommend it!

One of the best places in San Diego! Seneca Trattoria is perfect for celebrations, with an incredible view and even better food. Everything we tried was amazing: the Carbonara, Linguine Nero Pasta with Clams, Wood-Fired Prawns, and Chocolate Espresso Martini were all top-notch. The staff is very responsive and kind. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and were surprised with a couple of complimentary drinks and the best table with a view, even though it wasn’t guaranteed. Huge shoutout to Jaycee, our wonderful server, who made the evening unforgettable. Highly recommend this spot for a romantic dinner or any special occasion.

Perched on the 38th floor, this beautifully decorated space offers a stunning setting for any occasion—whether it’s a date night, celebration, casual hangout, or a stylish get-together. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to dress up and lean into the moment. The drinks and food were delicious, with thoughtful presentation and flavor. If you can, request a seat near the open kitchen—it’s a lively, engaging experience to watch the chefs in action. Overall, a memorable spot that blends ambiance, flavor, and a touch of excitement.

She made my birthday even more memorable! She deserves a raise! And last but not least the food......... I will let you go and experience what we did. No amount of words can describe how delicious it all was!! Id give 10 ✨️ if possible. Thank you each and everyone there!

We came here to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and everything was just perfect. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding—everyone congratulated him and made us feel truly special. The table we got was exactly what we hoped for, with a cozy atmosphere and an amazing view. The food was absolutely delicious and the prices were very reasonable considering the quality and experience. What really made the night unforgettable was the warm and attentive service. It was truly the cherry on top, and my boyfriend loved every moment of it. Highly recommended!

We had a terrific dinner here, mid-week, for my husband’s birthday. Despite being late past the grace period (completely our fault!), the hostess and team were incredibly accommodating and were still able to seat us outdoors with a view. Our waitress, Jade, was very knowledgeable about the dishes. We ordered 3 apps, 2 pastas, and 2 pizzas. All came out timely and tasted very fresh. Personal fave was the squid ink linguine with clams!!! I added a grilled lemon and 10/10 would order that dish again. Negroni with the lemon foam was super yummy, especially if you love lemon sorbet. Icing on the cake was the attention to detail and personalization lengths they went through to celebrate my husband’s birthday. They put his name on the menu, and on a complimentary espresso martini, which was so unexpected and sweet! On top of that, they gave him a birthday dessert. We had a great time and can’t wait to go back!!!

Tony and I came here for my birthday dinner, and from the start it felt genuinely cared for — not in a polished, performative way, but in the small, human details that stay with you. We were seated at a table, and the service immediately set the tone. Our server was warm and attentive without hovering, and she took real time to walk us through the menu, describing each dish with confidence and ease. It didn’t feel memorized — it felt like someone who actually knew the food and enjoyed sharing it. The maître d’ came by our table three times throughout the evening to check in and make sure everything was just right. Before we even sat down, he brought a menu to the table that read, “Happy Birthday Robert.” I didn’t expect that, and it genuinely caught me off guard in the best way. As we sipped our drinks, I found myself getting up and taking in the space — the carved statues, feathered glass sconces, and the aromas coming from the kitchen. The photos I’ve shared are simply the moments that caught my eye as I moved around — no filters, no staging — just what the evening felt like from where I was standing. The rooftop air was crisp and clean, warmed comfortably by overhead heaters, and music played throughout dinner — a mix of R&B classics and soft rock that fit the mood without ever overpowering the conversation. Everything felt relaxed and easy. The food arrived casually but hot and fresh. The Caesar salad was delicious — Tony has never had a taste for anchovies (which made me laugh out loud when he made a face), but even that became part of the memory. The focaccia bread was warm, cheesy, and honestly the best I’ve ever had. We shared a Margherita pizza with two cheeses and a rich, robust marinara, along with a spicy casarecce alla vodka that was extraordinary. The evening ended with a thoughtful slice of vanilla bean cake topped with orange peel glaze and fruit, brought out with a sparkling “happy birthday” candle. I was genuinely moved. As we walked out, everyone wished me happy birthday one last time. It struck me how natural it all felt — nothing forced, nothing rushed. I know the difference between a place that performs hospitality and one that practices it. This felt like the latter, and I left carrying that warmth with me.

Seneca Trattoria delivered two consistently satisfying dinners in a row, making it an easy 4-star restaurant overall, with 5 stars for both service and view. The space is stunning, with panoramic city and water views that create a romantic, elevated atmosphere, and the team matches it with warm, polished, and genuinely attentive service over repeat visits. Over two nights, the Wood-Fired Prawns, Margherita Pizza, Gnocchi Pomodoro, and Wood-Grilled Costata were all flavorful, well-executed, and nicely portioned, showing a kitchen that’s confident across both pasta and wood-fired dishes. Cocktails were very good—balanced and creative—and pairing everything with a nice Brunello di Montalcino rounded out the experience and highlighted the quality of their beverage program. This is the kind of place that rewards coming back on consecutive nights: consistent cooking, excellent drinks, memorable views, and hospitality that makes a couple feel genuinely taken care of.

I’ve been here a few times, and it’s consistently a solid choice. Perched at the top of the Intercontinental Hotel in San Diego, the setting alone is worth a visit. The bar service is good, though I’ve had slightly better attention when seated at a table. Food is above average across the board, cocktails are spot-on, and that sweeping view seals the deal. Definitely a go-to for a drink or dinner with a view.

I wanted to visit here because I continued to see it online as a place to go in San Diego. I was also staying at the Intercontinental so it was very convenient. I decided to go for a solo lunch. I went up and it was a beautiful place. The rooftop is amazing and the views are magnificent! Super cute decor and ambiance. Unfortunately after being seated my service went downhill. I was not greeted or brought any water for quite some time. The person that sat me noticed and ended up bringing me some water which was timely because I was getting ready to get up and leave. It was not very busy so I was a little confused but very patient. Then when the server did stop at my table I asked for one more minute to decide on my order and it turned into ten more minutes. When I finally got my order in someone else brought it to me and my server never came to see how my food was so when they finally came to my table I was done eating and asked for my check. Check was given quickly and asked if I just wanted to get it processed then while they were there… so yea that’s how that went! Overall, the view and food were the highlight. I gave it another shot and went another night to the bar and had a great time and great service. I hope when I visit again I have a better dining in experience.

The atmosphere was amazing, that’s what the stars are for. The food on the other hand was quite the opposite. The one thing I enjoyed was the focaccia garlic bread, besides that the caesar salad was dry, the pasta was mushy, and the ny strip had a lot of inedible fat. Probably wouldn’t recommend for such a high price point even though the restaurant itself is beautiful.

We arrived on time for our 7:45pm reservation, were immediately told they are running behind- ended up seated by 8pm. Fine not a big deal. We were seated on a table that was basically in the run zone for tables (photo attached) and was also on a weak wood plank board so that every time someone walked by it lifted my chair causing me to teeter. After this happened for like the tenth time in a few minutes I asked if we can be moved. They said no reservations are full. Mind you I told them this is our anniversary. Also, our table was dirty- some left over dried pasta sauce from the last seating- gross! Then, they took forever to take our order- the waiter kept disappearing. Granted it was busy, but dang come on now, we didn't get to place our order till 8:30. Then, we waited and didn't get our app until 9pm. A citrus salad- which you would think would be greens with citrus right? No. It was just citrus lol. Then, we waited until about 9:30pm to get our food. The pasta was really good (something alla vodka) and we added shrimp and meatballs to it. The pizza was good but was a bit cold. Broccolini was tasty. They gave us some sparkling wine for our anniversary- but I kept seeing everyone else get a cupcake and a rum drink- I assume for their birthday- would of preferred that if they asked me lol. The lemoncello covered almonds at the end were yummy! Anyways- food was good, but could of been better. Service was way too slow. I won't be back. The place is very cute and well decorated- insta worthy. If I come back to SD I will try another place for Italian.

Unfortunately, the rumors I’ve heard of this place are true, it is just another overhyped Consortium restaurant. I will say, the overall aesthetic, location, decor, and ambience of the place are well done. It’s a clean restaurant with a unique look and great views. Pizza and pasta dishes were nothing special, not something I would go out of my way for to order again. Our group really enjoyed our appetizers, specifically the arancini and the garlic focaccia. The squash and burrata, wasn’t the favorite, again, nothing really special. The service is what really took a dip for our experience. We had a reservation for 7:30 and called hours before to update it to the notify we would be having less people. Seneca only had an automated system so we had to leave a voicemail, however, it’s clear that they did not check it or make the necessary adjustments, because when we arrived, the hostess did not know about our request and it took us nearly 15-20 minutes to be seated WITH a reservation. When we finally got seated, our server shortly took our drink order, however we did not see a trace of her for 30 minutes. This “service” continued on for the entirety of our dinner- extended wait times and our server was not checking on our table unless we would flag her down first. Given that this was a Tuesday night, the amount of time it took for us to wait for our orders when it was not even that busy was ridiculous.

We arrived there early 9:38 for our wedding anniversary with a reservation scheduled at 9:45 pm. After checking with the hostess that we are here and about our reservation. She responded that it will be couple of minutes for our table to be ready she suggested to go to the bar area. So while walking to bar I glanced on empty tables including the table that was assigned to us which it was empty the whole time but we weren't seated until 10:10 while kitchen closes at 11. So we can skip that part and focus on service and food. The garlic bread was the best item we ordered. Everything else including truffle which you can get at frozen food section at any tj or Ralph's . After 45 minutes close to 11 we get our margarita pizza and pasta with vodka sauce . Pasta was cold . Pizza nothing special at all. Our server came to table twice only. She didn't even bother to ask how was the food and she came for check. Also worth mentioning that they gave us two champagne glasses on the house for our anniversary. But we wasn't expecting anything but a good experience which we didn't have. Restaurant want to be 5 stars by asking us questions about our anniversary a day before and how many years we were married . Thought they are preparing a great experience but apparently this place beside the view and ambiance is so overrated. And the truffle that people travel to this place for is cold and looks like it was heated. If I ever want to deal with sceneca maybe for pizza pick up not more .
