Delicious dinner and the staff was friendly! They were attentive and multiple staff members checked in on us. The restaurant is beautiful however we didn’t explore the outdoor section or secret garden. Drinks are delicious!! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

First visit to Wormwood and it was an excellent culinary experience. It was a bit loud in the dining room and it is not a cheap dinner date but the service was phenomenal and the food and drinks were, for the most part, delectable. Tonight we ordered a farmers loaf of bread to share which came out steaming hot and accompanied by a delicious butter. We also ordered the French Onion dish that made my eyes roll to the back of my head. Let’s suffice to say I could have just ordered a couple of those French Onion apps and been perfectly content without needing a main dish. Nonetheless, our party ordered the Sea Bass, Chicken and the mushroom pasta dishes as mains. Everyone was happy with their meal and the plating was beautiful as you can see in the pictures. Overall it was a great meal - maybe not a regular date night sort of place but worth it for an occasional splurge.

I've been to multiple countries around the world, visited many states, cities, and islands. This is the BEST food I've tasted in a long while. I picked the place on a whim before a concert and I was not expecting this AMAZING experience. EAT HERE!!!

Certainly worthy of a Michelin star, the French cuisine is a masterpiece of flavor and combination, making a dinner a complete experience. There was a beet salad, stuffed mushrooms, scallop risotto, very tender chicken, and an absolute delicacy of truffle dark & white chocolate dessert-all of which were absolutely delicious & palatable. Their wine selection was exceptional, including a "by glass" section that is usually overlooked. Located in an intimate setting with an open kitchen view, it has an excellent ambiance and a great view of the chefs at work. Keana was an amazing server and attentive to our needs every moment thank you so much

The bartender mixed well crafted cocktails. The ambiance was of a boutique restaurant on a hillside in Europe. Each ingredient on the plate paired well and enhanced each flavor. Only a 20 minute drive to beach for the essence of San Diego.

The patio dining was a beautiful space, it’s located in the rear. The food was very tasty, cocktails were refreshing, and service was timely/ polite. I think the crème brûlée desert was misleading since it was a deconstructed version but not advertised as such. Would def recommend this lovely restaurant overall.

Had a wonderful date night on the Patio of Wormwood. The setting is quaint and cozy. We selected the fixed menu and each course was unique and delicious. The absinthe selection is out of this world and the waitress was very knowledgable and helpful. Great place if you and yours are interested in a French experience.

My review is for the happy hour! We stopped in last week and really enjoyed our experience. The cheese board is so good, and the wine flights were great as well. We had an Absinthe drink as well, didn’t disappoint.

Made it to their first day with happy hour! Tasty bites and drinks at an affordable price. The tarte aux oignons is particularly delicious. We got there at 5pm and it was very quick to be seated; there was a wait line closer to 6pm. Note that HH is only available at the bar and high top tables inside, and the patio/sidewalk tables outside. A big thank you to the hostess Sicily and the Wormwood staff for the utmost help in making sure that my group was comfortable at a table outside with my 2-year-old niece. Their customer service is some of the best you’ll find in the San Diego restaurant industry.

Loved our dinner at Wormwood in North Park! Really cozy and inviting French vibe with out of this world service. The cocktails were excellent, we had the gilded hour and sun king. For food we had the wagyu tartare, poulet a la moutarde (chicken), and barramundi catch of the day. Everything tasted amazing. We sat on the beautiful dog friendly patio. Great for a date night. Safer to have a reservation. Recommend!

Start to finish-- such a lovely night. We went here as a whim on a date night and were very impressed. Staff was extremely attentive, professional and knowledgeable (such as I would expect in a Michelin level restraunt-- such a lovely surprise). Food was absolutely delicious. The Scallops, Beef Tartare, and Lamb were true standouts. Their liquer and wine list was impressive (just the Absinthe list alone!!). We will definitely be back! Thank you for having us!

Overall, we had a pleasurable dining experience at Wormwood and must say, it was one of the most creative restaurants I've ever dined at. The charm and coziness welcomes you through the door, and there is a cute outdoor garden patio space in the back. We dined indoors. love the open kitchen design. The service was fair. The staff could be more attentive with refilling waters and being clearer with the ingredients, as each plate was so pretty and you can tell Wormwood is genuinely passionate about the food, presentation, and the overall dining experience. We were there with two friends celebrating their birthdays and wanted a special dinner. About the food, each dish was gorgeously and meticulously crafted, visually beautiful and bursting with flavor. The chef's dedication to using fresh, high-quality ingredients was evident in every bite. started with the bread and butter infused with rosemary and honey - delicious. The bone marrow/ wagyu tartare looked beautiful. I had the roasted beet salad with mint and a very good dressing. We had the $60 tasting menu and three of us went with the NY steak and one had the pasta, which has a nice poblano chili flavor. The flavors were perfectly balanced. The citrusy Creamsicle dessert was refreshing, light, and balanced well with the creme fresh and meringue pieces. Overall, we enjoyed this place and its cool vibe, but it is more expensive (>$100 per person) and be mindful of the add-ons on the menu (in addition to the $60 per person fee, the steak is +$16, cheese plate is +$10, and 4% surcharge on the bill.)

I went for the Sunday brunch and the service and atmosphere with live jazz on the back patio was top notch! The drinks were also very tasty.

I wish I could rate this place higher. Drinks were great. Apps were great. But the main entree was just…. there. Not great but I couldn’t put my finger on why. Sure the steak seems to be cooked to the right temp, but it had no flavor which was really disappointing since I believe they claimed it was Wagyu. The place is super cute, but because it consists of only hard surfaces it’s quite noisy and impossible to hear the people when they deliver the food and launch into the spiel about the entrees. I just nodded my head and said thank you. The food expediters either need to learn how to project their voice or just stop, or the restaurant needs to hang some tapestries or something to lower the echos. The other the way other gripe is the dress code. If you’re going to have one, enforce it or take it down. I took the effort to schlep business casual across country when I could’ve just shown up in jeans, sneakers and a ratty sweater like some of the other guests.

Enjoyed brunch here but it was $80, that was just my portion. The Omelette was good with Humboldt Fog cheese but hardly worth $80. I did have one Mimosa (Passion fruit) and Poisson Cru and a Buckwheat Crepe. So pricey. Not the best French food I have ever had, but I would go back to try dinner. Great atmosphere though.

We did sit inside as the outside was full. I would highly recommend sitting outside in the garden. Cockatiels are spot on. Food was average at best. I had some oysters and also the New York steak. I understand the menu was limited to reflect high end experience but nothing caught my eye. I was expecting more. Service was amazing

We've been to Wormwood several times over the past few years. In the beginning it was shaping up to be one of our favorite restaurants. Chef driven concept, good/creative dishes prepared well, casual yet fun ambiance, and creative cocktails. We had some great date nights here. Sure, Parking can be challenging at times. It's located at 30th and Adams. There is one paid lot across the street and we usually park there but sometimes it is full and you have to circle the area to find a spot. This is not the fault of the restaurant and it is sad to see negative restaurant reviews from customers because of their own inability to find parking. A few months ago we came in for Brunch and had quite a different experience. The food was mediocre and left me feeling "let down". The service was ... ok. Nothing to write home about but nothing to specifically complain about. Then we came back on Sunday to celebrate a family friend's Milestone Birthday and our experience was not great. The dining room tends to be loud so we booked a table in the back patio so we could have a more peaceful meal where everyone could hear each other converse. Unfortunately, the owner's wife was hosting some sort of Poetry night in the private space in the back. They had a PA system and the volume got progressively louder and louder throughout our meal. The audio went from Poetry Reading, to spiritual sounds, to some sort of chanting. If it wasn't so loud we could have ignored it but the volume was a but much. I recommend they close the entire back area if they host these events in the future. This event was negatively impacting the service as well. It seemed like all the servers were constantly running back there to take care of those guests and it impacted the service to the rest of the tables. We had to physically get up to find our server on multiple occasions to check on our order. For example: we ordered a cheese course at the same time we put our meal orders in. After the table was cleared, the server came by to present the desert menu. The deserts were delivered and finished before the cheese course arrived. I had nearly given up on the cheese course as it had been so long I suspected it would never arrive. All in all, the food is still good. Albeit slow to come out of the kitchen. The service is friendly but neglectful. It used be much better and I hope they can turn it back around.

We got two drinks and an order of the bread rolls. It came with one singular roll which was funny but super annoying for spending $15 on it. The total was over $50 for two drinks and one roll that took at minimum an hour to deliver to us after asking multiple times. People struggle and wanna have a nice night out this sucked!

Booked for my 18th wedding anniversary, and the service and atmosphere were desirable to say the least. Our waitress congratulated us and even brought out a special treat at the end — a lovely touch that sealed our celebration. Now, onto the food. The scallops were beautifully presented but unfortunately far too salty. The catch of the day, a bass served in a green sauce with a pistachio crust, looked promising but lacked texture — the fish could have been firmer beneath the crust. On a positive note, the cauliflower scattered around the plate was perfection — seriously the best I’ve ever had! My husband ordered the steak with tater tots, topped with a pat of cold butter. Sadly, that dish didn’t hit the mark either. Still hungry, we decided to try the charred roe and rosemary bread appetizers. The bread was delicious, but the roe was disappointing — instead of a satisfying pop, they were more like tiny orbs that hadn’t “burst” yet. I also skipped the butter since it was on the sweeter side. On the bright side, the drink selection was outstanding — creative, balanced, and delicious. I’d definitely return for the cocktails alone. Hope this helps anyone considering a visit!

Stayed in North Park specifically to dine here. Dining room less than half full on a Fri night should have been my first clue. Over the course of 1 hr all I got served was a lukewarm leek appetizer then told they had forgotten my entree. Presented with bill and told they “took care” of my fish that I never got served. Wish I would have gone to one of the PACKED restaurants across the street instead. Absolute waste of time.

Come with me into a slow decent to pergatory as I tell you about our experience here last night. We walked in and the place seemed nice. We were taken to a deserted back room with a private bar. They asked me if we were celebrating anything and I said my birthday. Nothing was done with that information so was it just for personal interest? The drinks arrived and they were fine. At this point we still had hope in our eyes. We settled on the smaller tasting menu with an appetizer, main, and dessert each. The appetizer was a beef tartar that tasted like it had been placed in a vat of vinegar and forgotten there only to be ressurectred with a pound of salt before it to arrived to our table. It came presented on a bone with carrots and micro greens resembling gifilte fish. A jus was poured over it in order to make it more mildly palatable, but I could barely eat 2 bites. Still, we had hope. Next came the worst of all. It was a pasta dish that would make my Italian nonna roll over in her grave. She would come alive just to use her rolling pin on the chef who allowed it to make it past the pass. It was green, likely from envy of pasta across the street at the pizza hut, and tasted like locker room socks that were pulverized and turned into a foam. The gummy chewiness of the dish really added to the torturous experience. Still, we had hope. I turned to my husband's dish that looked beautiful but was cold unseasoned quarters of meat with a gluey topping over what was potentially a makeshift latka. I took one bite and knew my intestines would be paying for this later. At this point, being waterboarded on my birthday would have been a more enjoyable experience. I had lost all hope. Send it back you ask? How does someone correct this? This was the caliber. Every single thing was so wrong and my mouth was already in the fermentation process from the first dish. Not even industrial ecolab spray could get that taste out. Thankfully the meal was nearing its end with the grand finale. A creme brule. Although, it was not a creme brule, it was creme with some melted sugar toile and the largest portion of hard pieces of sliced guava as if they were trying to frantically clean house of guava. Within the creme were rubbery bits of...? (I really hope not rubber). We left with broken hearts and severe indigestion.
