H Salt Fish & Chips

I had combo #2 which was two large pieces of fish, two jumbo shrimp and chips. All tasted great! Highly recommend this place.

We travel there from Burbank . It’s better than fish king for fish and chips ,shrimp and clams .

UPDATE: Jul 2022 Their dining area is closed. The fish was delicious, hot and crispy not oily (made to order). The chips were hot and crispy but don't forget to ask for salt on the side, they don't salt them. Upgraded them to a 5⭐ although the 3pcs went up a dollar since last year but what hasn't. It's still very reasonable compared to other fish & chips restaurants. It tasted exactly how I remember. Got my fish chips fix for now. 2021 The fish was good, it was nice and crispy. The chips on the other hand were kind of soggy when we ate them 20 minutes later, it also needed salt. There were only two tables if you dined in. It's not in a great area and the inside didn't look so great. But we went there for the fish. The prices were also good. Nine dollars for 3 fish and chips. Their aren't to many H Salt Fish & Chips restaurants anymore. It's still pretty much tasted the same as I remember. We would definitely come back when I'm craving for fish and chips.

Our food was cooked to order and our group got to smell the food while it was cooking. When you go make sure to take your friends!

I immediately read some reviews from both locations and every comment lead me to this location. The fish was so good. It didn’t taste like old oil. The menu is big with a variety of sides. I’m definitely going back soon since I got there 15 mins before closing.

Authentic is correct! Although those not from America would be highly disappointed because you taste sssooo much soul in the food...unlike their food they would expect LOL ENJOY!

We have been eating from this fish and chips place since moving to San Fernando in February of 1988. Its changed hands several times, but the food has been exceptional all the same. The owners are hard working and always has fresh food it has a warm inviting vibe each and everytime. We eat here at least two to three times a month. I would like to give it a 6 stars plus. As a matter of fact this place has always been our favorite place to eat. An update on this place. I fell sorry for this hard working merchant due to all you persons who has forced merchants into raising there food prices. It's because you voted for a pos do nothing anti-AMERICAN president.

Great little fish and chips place. Don't be fooled by the exterior. It looks like a dive, but it has some of the most authentic fish outside of the UK. Only reason I gave 4 stars was they take a while to fry, because they do it after you order.

Know before you go, you aren't coming here for the interiors or air conditioning, you're here for good English style fish and chips. If you want the stuff above, get takeaway. The fish is good and flakey, the batter is not too heavy, everything tastes great and they have malt vinegar.

Fish an chips!!! It's been awhile but man is it tasty. I'm deducting one star because the chips could be better. They are getting more popular so hopefully they will get better chips (french fries). Very nice lady behind the counter.

Really good jumbo shrimp and breaded fish. Although the jumbo shrimp consist of mostly breading, it's still really good. At first, it may seem like you aren't getting much for what you're paying, judging soley by the pictures on the walls. Don't underestimate the portions, because the fish and shrimp really are jumbo sized. The hushpuppies, mozarella sticks, and crab cakes are good as well. The crab cake patties are my favorite. Also, be sure to order by phone, because the wait time is torture.

Fish is good, shrimp is good. The chips are unsalted, but you can season them yourself if you like. The zucchini was good too. I got the family 6 piece fish meal. Staff is friendly.

Food here is delicious. I come here once a week and order the Big Ben. I can barely finish it. I will be coming back.

Fish chips and shrimp are all great. The batter here is excellent. Vinegar and sauce add to the great taste. The guy is kind of rough around the edges and the place inside, isn't inviting you to eat there. If anything, It makes you think otherwise about it. But, great food is great food.

Food is good like expected. The guy taking the order was curt. Not a friendly experience. Dining area is not very clean. Tables felt dirty and greasy. I would have just done take out but fish and chips are always better right out of the fryer!

Excellent flavor, like I always remember. Although the fish was SUPER GREASY. but very clean tasting. No old gross oil taste, just greasy. Except the zucchini those were not greasy.

Ate in and the whole place was sticky with grease and dirt. My arms stuck to the table and you could see the grease every where. I wiped the table in a one foot circle and took pictures of the napkins. Food was ok. Greasy but good. After all it is fried. But won't be going back anytime soon. Wish there was a place to show my pictures! It's gross!

We went there, ordered alot but it seemed to irritate the guy behind the counter. We ended up walking out with 6 bags of grease dripping from the bags. Thanks for the extreme colon cleansing.

They were not busy but somehow managed to get the order wrong. My Aunt order 3, 3 piece fish and chips and they only made 1... We had to wait longer for them to make the rest of the order. Not cool...

I have been buying food here for a several years. The fish is really good . The sad part is the price for the portions . I ordered 18 pieces of fish with fries. the sad part is the chips wich are the fries ,the portion is so small can't even feed more than 1 for each portions . Soggy fries . You can go to other places and get more fries then here . Very disappointed. Also they are very greedy on how much tarter sauce or condiments in general you get. That's so sad for what you pay for .

I am a Brit, and I can honestly say these are the worst fish and chips I have ever tasted, and an insult to this British culinary tradition. Both the fish and chips were tasteless - you can get better in your grocery stores frozen aisle. The elongated rectangle of battered fish, quite clearly was unfresh and mass processed. The container it came in would probably have tasted better.
