Opinions de La Bella Pizza San Fernando
Chef Antonio is from Puglia, Italia. Thats Southern Italy on the boot part of the country. Small dining room. Make reservations. We got the multiple courses. I originally wanted Cacio e pepe so the chef was nice enough to add it. My favorite of all the dishes. The panna cotta dessert had the most amazing sweet yogurty flavor with a home made strawberry jam on it. Soooo goooood!!! Our server was a very nice and attentive young lady. She explained everything and brought out the plates at the perfect times. Chef Antonio also spoke with us. Super nice guy!. Atmosphere is very family home style. Not a ton of space. I will definitely come back for that Cacio e pepe! My cousin David recommends the pizza as well. This is authentic italian cuisine.
Small and cozy trattoria with outside dining aswell, Antonio (owner/chef from Italy) took good care of us, food was awesome just like his hometown Puglia Italia, we'll be back for some more delicious arugula salad , chicken piccata, pasta with shrimp and that tasty sweet wine primitive. Love it ! Now you don't have to go to Italia to eat,
First of all, I rarely bother going to Italian restaurants because 90% of the time I can probably cook the same quality dish for a third of the cost at home. I am incredibly glad we took a chance on this new Italian restaurant. The menu has something for everyone, but not TOO much. Based on the things we did order, I'm sure everything here is cooked to perfection. Serving sizes were just right, and the prices are amazing for this level of quality. We even had the pleasure of meeting chef Antonio briefly, which was nice. I wish I knew they had some kind of bread rolls when you arrive, as it seemed like we got forgotten about. We were very hungry and some bread and oil/parmesan would have been nice to hold us over until our food came out. Other than that, no complaints. We would happily come back, and we will definitely be bringing our friends and family in the future. Thank you, chef!
Welcome to the Neighborhood, Chef Antonio! Antonio doesn’t just cook—he delivers. Every dish that comes out of his kitchen is bold, balanced, and done with care. The flavors are dialed in, the ingredients speak for themselves, and nothing feels overworked or under-thought. This is food that respects your time and your taste buds. What really sets this place apart is Antonio himself. He’s not just the chef—he’s the heart of the operation. Generous with portions, professional in the way he runs the kitchen, and clearly committed to feeding people well. No ego, no shortcuts, just honest, top-tier cooking. I had the pleasure of trying Chef Antonio’s food during the grand opening—and I’ve been coming back ever since. The man knows what he’s doing. From the moment they set down that unbelievably fresh bread, you know you’re in good hands. Start with the La Panzanella salad. It’s crisp, bright, and full of flavor—nothing fancy, just done right. The Diavola pizza was a standout too: thin, blistered crust, rich tomato, spicy salami. I like a bit more heat, and without missing a beat, Antonio whipped up a custom oil and pepper blend that took it to the next level. That’s the kind of attention you don’t see every day. My go-to? The Lasagna della Mamma. It tastes like it came straight from a family kitchen in Italy—layered, comforting, and clearly built on generations of tradition. If you’ve got room for dessert (make room), get the panna cotta. Silky, balanced, perfect. Antonio is the kind of chef any neighborhood would be lucky to have: skilled, generous, and serious about his food. We’re lucky he chose ours. If you haven’t been yet, go. You’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. And if you have? You already know—Chef Antonio’s the real deal. Let’s make sure he knows he’s welcome here. We need more of this.
Today, my family and I had a taste of southern Italy 🇮🇹 in San Fernando. La Bella pizza trattoria has a touch of passion and a side of love. We had 2 chef special dishes, insalata arugula, carrot puree soup, chicken scalloppine, and cioppinno🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽 molto bene! Everything was good. Let me not forget the dessert 🤤 please have 1 of each because they're all hand crafted to perfection👌🏼. My mom usually has take outs, and every single clam was eaten. By far, this will be our new go to Italian restaurant. I enjoy watching the movement behind the semi transparent screen between the guest and the chef Marchese... The chef was not only hands-on on each and every plate that came out the door. He delivered and interacted with every single guest. Also, very special thanks to our host, Ms. Ruth. She was very kind and gave us the best recommendations that suited our taste buds. I can see this quaint restaurant going very far,& above. I hope to be a regular guest at your restaurant. Grazie!
❤️ NEW FAVORITE PLACE!! Everything was PERFECT and DELICIOUS. Our waitress was OUTSTANDING very LOVELY. Will only show the aftermath, no time for the before. 😋✨ FANTASTICO🤌
Food was great! Ordered the gnocchi and pizza, both were delicious. Highly recommend the pesto gnocchi—fantastic flavor. Service was friendly and efficient, making the experience even better. Easy parking in the back lot (free) or on the side street. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back!
The food is Amazing!! Service was great too, a little long waiting for the food but not bad, and we'll worth the wait. The arrabiatta was the best I've had. Great atmosphere to dine for a date or small group. Will definitely be on the top of our list to visit again.
Last night, I stumbled into what felt like a hidden corner of Italy, tucked away in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. The atmosphere was simple yet inviting. A perfect backdrop for what would soon become an unforgettable love affair… with the food. It began innocently enough with a Caesar salad. But this wasn’t just any Caesar. The dressing, made from scratch, was a symphony of flavors, bold with anchovy yet delicately balanced. Even the croutons—perfectly toasted and just the right size. Then came the Gioiosa pizza, a celebration of simplicity and decadence: creamy buffalo mozzarella, nutty pistachio pesto, and tender slices of imported mortadella. Each bite whispered a promise—proof that sometimes, fewer ingredients mean more magic. But the moment I truly fell was over a plate of pesto gnocchi. These soft, pillowy bites were like clouds of potato perfection. The chef, a native of Italy, emerged to share the dish’s history, explaining how gnocchi is meant to honor its roots, celebrating the potato rather than mimicking pasta. With his words in mind, I savored each bite anew, using a slice of bread to soak up every last drop of the pesto sauce I couldn’t bear to leave behind. The final main dish of this culinary romance was the ossobucco con risotto Milanese. The veal was tender enough to fall apart under the slightest touch of my fork, its rich flavors entwined with the creamy, saffron-infused risotto. Just when I thought the evening couldn’t possibly become any more enchanting, the chef surprised us with two desserts—a gesture that felt like a handwritten note slipped under the door of our hearts. First was tiramisu, a dessert I thought I knew well. It had all the familiar elements—layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone, a dusting of cocoa—but somehow, it felt like I was tasting tiramisu for the very first time. Each bite was a revelation, so rich yet perfectly balanced, each texture melting into the next. Was this how it was always meant to be? Then came the panna cotta. At first glance, it was unassuming—simple, white, with a delicate drizzle of red sauce. But one taste proved its quiet elegance. The panna cotta was impossibly light, a soft, quivering jelly that danced across my tongue. The fruit sauce provided just the right touch of sweetness, as though it had been designed to complement, not overwhelm. It was a dessert that spoke in whispers, and yet its memory lingers louder than most. Dishes crafted with the kind of care that only comes from a chef who has spent most his lifetime perfecting his craft. It’s rare to stumble upon something so effortlessly charming, but here, we did, and it was love at first bite.

Food and service were excellent! Very delicious and authentic Italian food from a master chef. Just save some room for desert! And ask for the bread (same as pizza) and the balsamic glaze!
Best authentic Italian food in the valley. Great service by the owner himself. Highly recommend to try. From.the pizza to pasta and the tiramisu. Will definitely be coming back.
If you haven't heard of La Bella Pizza Trattoria Italiana in San Fernando, let me be the one to change that. This little spot may fly under the radar, but the experience it delivers is anything but ordinary. The food was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The Diavola pizza had the perfect kick, and the truffle pizza was rich and indulgent in the best way possible. The lasagna was pure comfort — hearty, flavorful, and clearly made with love. And the tiramisu? Easily one of the best I've ever had. Every single dish that hit the table was delicious. A huge part of what makes this place so special is Chef Antonio, who hails from Puglia, Italy. He actually came out to greet us personally, guided us through a wine selection imported from his home region, and made sure every detail was just right. He sources many of his ingredients directly from Italian markets and puts his personal stamp of approval on every dish that leaves his kitchen — and you can absolutely taste the difference. We came as a family to celebrate a birthday, and Chef Antonio surprised us with extra desserts as a special touch. As we were leaving, he said goodbye and gave each of us a warm hug. That kind of hospitality is rare and unforgettable. If you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience with incredible food and a chef who truly pours his heart into everything he does, look no further. I cannot recommend La Bella Pizza Trattoria Italiana enough. We will absolutely be back!
I took my wife and 4 year old son here for dinner and I can say that we really enjoyed the experience and the food! Bartok treated us with exceptional care and a welcoming attitude, starting with their delicious homemade bread. My son got the margherita pizza which he loved. The crust was crispy, chewy, not too thick but also robust. It’s been a challenge to find good pizza in the SFV but this was excellent. We got Spaghetti Carbonata, and the special of the day Cacio y Pepe with NY Steak and both were deliciously rich, perfectly sized portions, and the al dente to our liking. It’s a small space, but has a great atmosphere. I might have preferred a cushioned chair but it’s no big deal. Everything was clean. Restroom is outside which is not ideal, but nothing they can do about that. It’s a good excuse to go explore the Library Plaza anyway. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone craving Italian food made with care and love, or for those who want some great pizza. Come support this local business!
This place is truly a hidden gem. From the moment we walked in, we could tell we were in for an authentic Italian experience. The chef was incredibly welcoming and kind—he even came to our table to personally walk us through the menu and the specials of the night, which made the experience feel extra special. The ambiance was relaxed and inviting, and you could tell everyone around us was genuinely enjoying their food. I ordered the chicken piccata followed by the panna cotta, and both were absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh and clearly made from scratch. If you’re looking for authentic Italian food, great hospitality, and a cozy atmosphere, I highly recommend this spot. I can’t wait to come back!
This place was amazing. We had never been to this restaurant or met Antonio and he treated us like family. Food was great and you can definitely taste the quality. Nice little gem in the city of San Fernando. Highly recommend for authentic taste of Italy.
Came in early before the dinner rush and had such a solid first experience. Started with the bruschetta — super fresh, perfect balance, and honestly one of the better ones I’ve had in a minute. Then I ordered the orecchiette with Italian sausage paired with the red sauce… to DIE for. Flavor was on point, comforting, and you can tell they don’t cut corners. Shoutout to my server Isabella — friendly, sharp, and genuinely knowledgeable. And Antonio (the owner) was amazing as well. You can feel the pride and hospitality in the place. If you’re in San Fernando, La Bella Pizza is a must.
Today was my very first time at La Bella Pizza Trattoria in San Fernando, and wow! what an AMAZING experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and every single dish we tried was beyond incredible. The service was outstanding from start to finish, and our whole group couldn’t stop talking about how impressed we were. I honestly can’t wait to go back again! I’m so happy with everything the food, the service, the atmosphere. And the prices were super fair too. Highly recommend!

Antonio the owner is such a sweet person, the ambiance is romantic and peaceful. Now the food is absolutely delicious does not lack in any aspect! The food is authentic, flavorful, and without a doubt delicious! I come here regularly and am never disappointed. Ask for the cacio e pepe with a vino primitivo and to finish it off with a limoncello!
We visited The Bella Pizza Trattoria Italiana last night and had such a great experience! The whole place has a warm, cozy, family-style vibe that makes you feel right at home. The food was fantastic, the pizza had a perfect thin, crispy crust and fresh, flavorful toppings. The pastas were just as amazing, rich and comforting, like real home-style Italian cooking. What really made the night extra special was the service. The chef came out to check on how we liked the food (which we loved!), and our server was incredibly friendly and attentive. You can tell they really care about what they do. If you’re looking for authentic Italian food with a personal touch, definitely check this place out. We’ll absolutely be back!
Disappointed, been to Italy, from an Italian family. Generally good flavors but a decent cook, Italian or not, can do as good or better. The pleasant lone server was overloaded. Noticeably smaller portions than others posted, dry pizza with sparse toppings. My gnocchi was about 15 to 18 small pieces floating in a soup, barely a meal about 1/2 the size of a posted photo and less food than on a YouTube interview/review. Gnocchi is one of our families favorites, we serve it as a pasta dish, like every restaurant I've had it at. If serving like soup, at least add some bread on the side at no charge. Small mussels in a fantastic broth, smaller portion of calamari and smaller sauce bowl than other photos, had to use the mussel sauce. Every wine I had in Italy was about $3-$4 and great, the one served not so, some vinegar tones. Labor is your biggest cost so add more sauce, pasta and toppings, it costs almost nothing and brings the level up so much. Spent just over $90 before tax&tip, pizza, gnocchi, calamari, mussels, 1 glass wine

Cute little restaurant. Pretty expensive in my opinion I had a Cesar salad that was delicious and some pizza that was okay I honestly wouldn't get pizza there again. The pizza was soggy & it was not cut right which honestly really annoyed me. But service is great & I would go back to try some pasta or get another salad.
By far I think this is the worst service we have received in the Valley and to be frank it seemed pretty personal. The server clearly decided upon our arrival we would be his least tended table, we saw how differently he was acting with other parties. I’m not quite sure why maybe it’s because we brought our children, perhaps it simply isn’t a child friendly restaurant, mind you our children were not boisterous or running around. He didn’t once ask us how our meal was. I ordered the carbonara which was a lot saltier than what I have tried just about anywhere. We also ordered a soup of the day which was a “vegetable soup,” that’s the only detail our server gave us. It tasted like thick enchilada sauce without the heat. For my children we ordered the lasagna which I cannot speak ill of for they ate just about everything. About halfway through our meal I realized all the other tables were receiving bread, which we did not. I called the server over to order some to which he asked “ they have not brought your bread?” um no YOU have not brought us our bread. He then immediately proceeded to give a table who ordered after us, bread, and we proceeded to wait another 5 minutes till he finally brought it out to us. Our meals more than halfway finished, and pretty much already cooled. The bread was also pretty mediocre. Nothing special, glorified croutons. Not worth the wait. They need to hire a second server, this one was too slow and couldn’t even keep up with the tables. We also ordered the spaghetti bolognese, 5/10 the sauce was thick but not very flavorful.
The price the waiter gave us on the specials was 28 dollar per dish, came out to 36 per dish on the bill. Seemed pretty dishonest . The portions are TINY. We left hungry and the food was mediocre at best. The lasagna looked reheated, and the pasta was soggy. The service wasn't bad, but we won't be returning.

There’s such a disconnect between the other reviews and what I experienced. The food was over priced, bland, and just not very good. The bruschetta was served on hard pizza dough (our knives couldn’t even cut through it). The pasta had no flavor and seemed reheated or haphazardly made. The only positive was the server. She was kind and attentive.
The view here is great and the location has a lot of potential. However, the service and food quality were disappointing. It took quite a while to be seated, and once we were, it took about 15–20 minutes just to receive menus. After that, we waited another 10 minutes before our drinks were taken. There was little communication or urgency from the staff throughout the visit. The lasagna was noticeably small for the price and lacked flavor. In hindsight, we should have ordered the pizza instead. For the cost, the meal simply did not feel worth it. Overall, the setting is nice, but the slow service and bland food make it hard to recommend. We will not be returning.
