Angelina's Cafe

A friend took us here a couple weekends ago. Very good latte and great pastry. It has a great old time neighborhood vibe. I love places like this, they really make a neighborhood come alive.

Kids from my daughter's school live to come when they're dismissed for the day. They usually get the soft serve ice cream. However, there is a lovely deli with yummy sandwiches and homemade entrees and sides when you don't feel like cooking.

Great for to-go deli orders, cafe style dine-in outside to people watch or inside, or top notch catering orders. The food is restaurant quality (see my picture of the Eggplant Napoleon). Some of my favorites are the Chicken Mendo sandwich (see picture) and items from the refrigerated case such as marinated chicken, grilled vegetables, meatballs, kale salad etc. They don't have a large dessert selection, but the baked goods are just as delicious as the savories and they're also one of the few places advertising soft serve ice cream made using Strauss Creamery dairy products.

This place makes delicious healthy food. Perfect for vegan and vegetarian options. Lovely vibe and outside sitting area. Cute typical SF quaint place. Price not bad for SF. Great option after or before a long mtb ride or walk in Presidio/Lands End.

Correct. It is expensive here but for all those ppl complaining — you likely voted for an increase in wages and taxes… this all has to be passed on otherwise the owner would see a margin decrease. It’s shocking to me when I see San Franciscans, of all ppl, complain about prices. It comes from a fundamental misunderstanding of tax systems and how businesses operate - do you not realize that you can’t hire, even the most junior staff, in San Francisco for less than ~$20 an hour. The more important part; this place is very good. They have extra staff and there is rarely any wait, they appear to use only top notch ingredients and make many of the deli dishes themselves (all things that cost extra).

This place is really incredible. It's the perfect example of an independent owned San Francisco staple. The bagels, coffees, sandwiches, salads are all incredible with fresh ingredients. I hope this place stays in the city forever.

Lovely place. I had a steak sandwich + juice + cookie. All were excellent. The deli had lots of options to take home, I'm jealous that I couldn't!

If a goumet deli is on your list to patron, this will be hard to beat. Costs are high value. It calls me in to stop every time I pass-by and it's always a treat on those occassions. Be prepared to spend for quality great choices for superb food.

Whenever I visit my friend in the Richmond, we always eat here at least once Fresh entrees and salads are in a deli case with seating inside and out. I typically could order 90% of what's on order because it suits my palate. Great local spot!

Wonderful and cozy neighborhood café staffed by great people. Al-fresco seating and delicious coffees and pastries. Modern iPad based checkout and a great selection of drinks and sandwiches to choose from. I wished I lived in the neighborhood because I would be here almost every morning for my breakfast! Highly recommended.

Quaint little cafe just south of Presidio! The inside is small, but the outdoor seating was the perfect way to have lunch on a foggy day. I ordered the hot pastrami and my girlfriend ordered the Italian sub. I would highly recommend the pastrami! Side note: they have a bathroom at the laundromat next door.

This is a great corner cafe run by an old school Italian family. They have a great sandwich selection and a cold case chock full of pre made dinner entrees. They have an impressive selection of cookies as well. There's also a top notch expresso machine just in case a post lunch nap isn't an option

Great high-quality deli. Its nice to see on photos on the wall tge history of family. You can also see in the display how much effort they put into their food to make it look nice and fresh. My husband had turkey cranberry sandwich and I had kale salad with quinoa and cranberries. It was great. I would appreciate at least one vegan option of sandwich or potato salad or fpr example some more plant based less oily salads but even so, we loved it.

Angelina's Deli Cafe is a charming corner store that is uniquely filled with Italian/Mediterranean/European foods. The ambiance is romantic with an Italian decor. The food choices are many and I always lean towards anything with Mozzarella, Olive Oil, Tomatoes, Garlic items. If you have an opportunity, treat yourself to a meal at Angelina's.

we were at Baker Beach and needed lunch. We found this place from the great reviews and stopped in to get a sandwich, lox bagel and fruit cup. The spicy roast beef sandwich (pictured) is so unique and flavorful. We are from Reno and keep finding these places all around San Francisco that keep knocking our socks off. Angelina’s is amazing and so pretty inside

We took our niece and nephew here and it was such a joy to sit inside, get warm, and enjoy our meal and feel part of the neighborhood. We could just listen to the banter of the workers and the patrons and it truly felt like another country (maybe even Italy). I've also used Angelina's for catering and have never been disappointed. Even the meat loaf was a hit!

Chill little spot for coffee and pastries, and some other items for lunch or afternoon treat. A few seats inside and out. Most took purchases to go. When in the Outer Richmond district, a good stop.

Environment and location definitely five stars, however, food is just alright. Sandwiches aren't very flavorful and salads from what Ive had don't stand out. Great soft serve though and tables to eat outside which is nice. Good spot to grab a drink or sweets on ride/walk.

I've been coming here for years, the quality and portion size has gone down.. and prices have gone up. Yeah, prices have gone up everywhere, but at least don't make things smaller on top of it. They also don't have the good pastries anymore, they taste more generic now. It also takes forever for them to make a sandwich most days. I usually get sandwiches here (haven't gotten a pastry in a while since they stopped carrying phillipe's? I think it was? Sometimes I'll get one, but they're kinda sad. I recently got the kale salad since they finally had one without fruit in it, that was super bland, even though it had parmesan all over it. Coffee is good, but Home has better coffee.

Ordered a latte and raisin roll. Raisin roll $3.95, stale and chewy. Latte $4.75, more like a cappuccino, lots of foam little milk. No customer service, a transaction only. No greeting. No idea who to order from, walked up and down the case and counter to get someone’s attention. Had to stop mid payment because counter person was shoving the stale roll toward me. You want your money..? Trying to pay here.

I've gotten two sandwichs from this place and they were the two most disappointing sandwiches I've had in SF and cost over $10

Angelina is retired now so the new management must be the issue. The blaring music outside needs to be turned down. It's a sidewalk cafe, not a nightclub. We could hardly hear each other speaking. It's an expensive, corner spot but a neighborhood staple for decades. I will go back when asked but maybe will just get a Coke.

Sad when a place with ok food is slow and even when you have a toddler in tow, they don't call your name. We waited 40 min for a sandwich. I overheard some locals saying this is a place where tips are expected up front for good service.

This is a local treasure but the staff is honestly just sort of incompetent. Take very long time to do simple things and it’s just frustrating to visit. Go to home coffee instead

Might be one of the worst sandwiches I’ve ever had. Menu lists “smoked ham”. It is not smoked ham, it tastes like hillshire farms prepackaged deli meat. Was not busy when I came in and ordered, but they got my entire sandwich wrong. Specifically asked for a certain condiment which ended up somehow missing completely from the sandwich. Asked for no tomatoes and all I got was tomatoes. Very confused. Would never go here again.
