Tip: Avenues can get busy, but it often has a shorter line and less obnoxious atmosphere than nearby Andy's. Grab a musubi and walk to the beach!

Able to place online order, employees were very nice and had a relaxing environment. Not much seating, food was very yummy! Matcha Lemonade was refreshing not to sweet, Breakfest club was also very filling (comes with radish's but i took em out) still everything about the food and experience was great!
Damn, what a gem! Lots of outdoor seating, great for chowing down in the sun. We got breakfast sandwiches and Musubis, all of which were very tasty. The Musubis are also mostly gluten free (with I think 2 flavours being the exception to that!) I had the salmon and tofu Musubis, both of which were delicious — and gluten free!
[Update: May 2022] Revisited Avenues SF and had a great experience. Flat white was delicious, spam and egg musubi was tasty; service was very friendly. Still a big fan! [Original: Sep 2021] I'm used to the mediocre, overpriced coffee shop breakfast sandwiches that Avenues' breakfast club took me by surprise. Fresh avo and nicely cooked egg, the portion was generous and the bread was delicious (they are from Rosalind Bakery). I can't really point to one big difference, but it feels authentic and made with care. They brew Verve coffee which is another plus and I have heard great things about their musubis. There are three coffee shops in this one small corner on Taraval and after trying them all, Avenues is my favorite. This is an owner-run shop, which explains why it feels warmer, more personable, less transactional. I was siting outside and some regulars started to gather and talked to each other (and their dogs!). The synergy was just awesome.
i got the breakfast bahn mi with egg, spam, jalapeño and chilli garlic sauce - it was TO DIE FOR. also the matcha latte with espresso. wow: 10/10!
Stopped by this charming coffee shop near Ocean Beach in San Francisco and was thoroughly impressed. The coffee art was a delightful touch, and the flavors were robust—exactly what you need on a foggy city morning. Plus, the Curry Bowl was a heartwarming surprise, so flavorful and comforting. A perfect spot for a casual bite. Definitely a gem in the Avenues!
Breakfast banh mi was DELICIOUS. Fusion flavours, but still has the essence of a traditional banh mi. There was also a great outdoor area to eat and chill with the pup!
Super amazing, woke up not expecting to even imagine SPAM.....left hecka grateful for SPAM and this spot that let me show some amateurish art. Omg that one lady 😳
So good! So fresh! The sandwiches here are to die for! We had avo toast and PB and honey with my 4 year old daughter. The words she used after her first bite: oh my goodness!! :)
Great little spot in the sunset with incredible and unique food and drinks! Came here with my mom and grandma and they also enjoyed it. We got drip coffee, an horchata cold brew, the breakfast banh mi with spam, and the salmon spam musibi and the tamago and spam musibi. All so delicious, highly recommend!
Favorite coffee shop in the Outer Sunset area! They serve really good Verve coffee roasters, and a variety of breakfast items such as breakfast banh mi and musubis! Really cute outdoor seating as well.
We walked across the street from Andy’s and this is the same menu with a less obnoxious atmosphere and a shorter line. The SF department parked their fire truck and chose this place too. They made the fanciest green matcha I’ve had. And a pretty cool cold brew.
This is such a cute little shop, and they served up a delicious almond milk latte. The surfer themed artwork they have up on the walls gives it a perfect vibe.

Nice spot cool vibe. Bahn Mi super fresh n tasty, good coffee too
Incredible misubis and the bahn mi is the best I’ve ever had! Excellent coffee as well!
In addition to the perfectly made coffee drinks, what sets this cafe apart from any others I’ve been has got to be the food. Avenues is such a gem making delicious and highly original sandwiches, breakfast bites, and best of all the Musubis to go (they barely last tho). The menu is thoughtful, local, and unique. Go and support this lovely local business and take some food/drinks a block down to the beach! Perfect start to your day.
Wow. That chicken bahn mi is SOOOO good. So much flavor. The veggies are so fresh. The chicken is so fresh and their sauces (which I think are all homemade) are to DIE for. I’ll be coming back here often.
This place had amazing vegetarian musubi!!! And excellent, very fast service. The musubis are ready to grab and go. My friend and I got our musubis and it was only a short walk to the beach, perfect to sit and eat. I had initially gotten two but loved them so much that we went back for a third. They also have a cute sitting area outside.

Honestly I’m so shocked this place didn’t have a longer line - the spam breakfast banh me was excellent and huge!! This photo is just 1/2 of the sandwich. Vegetarian options available, and a cute little outdoor space for casual (not tables) seating. I also had a hot matcha latte which was lovely. Will definitely be back!!
wow. just wow. most beautiful banh mi ive seen in my life….craziest part was that is a breakie banh mi…blew my brain cells up. egg? god. spam? diabolical.

I ordered a 12oz oat latte, but I think the barista used a 16oz cup, and filled it to the BRIM with oat milk (the picture is after i drank some). Obviously the ratio was completely off since 12oz only comes with one shot of espresso and it just tasted like bitter milk. I had to force myself to take a couple more sips before tossing it. I hope the baristas get proper training and feedback, since this could’ve been a decent coffee without all that milk added in after. Update: Since I can’t respond I wanted to add that I ordered online, which charges an extra $1.50 to upgrade to a 16oz (which I did not choose) which implies the default is 12oz. Maybe the size is hard to see for baristas through the online ordering system, but if that had a double shot, the drink still had far far too much oat milk for a standard latte.

Good place to snag a coffee on a walk, as there is no place to sit to drink it. They also keep musubi in a little hot dog heater contraption but I’d skip these and go to any of the tea houses along Taraval to get freshly made ones instead. I do like their coffee but almost never come here since there’s no place to sit.
It's ok. Horchata Cold Brew is a bit watered down and only gets worse as the ice melts. It became hard to enjoy after about 30-45 minutes. Watered down sugar coffee. The breakfast banh mi wasn't great. I really liked the vegetable mix, but the bacon was completely without taste or texture and the egg was really plain. Considering the egg sticks way out the side, it's hard to even get the flavorful vegetables in a bite with the egg, leaving you with a very unremarkable bite. I would assume that the normal banh mis are going to be good with a seasoned meat, but I definitely wouldn't get a breakfast one again.

The place has nice decor and they offer some merch and random items. The coffee and matcha were disappointing but the spam musubi was good and all of the food looked great. There isn't much space in the place and there are no seats so this place is to grab and go.

Nice location and outside sitting area. However I can't quite understand what's up with one of the baristas. When I first visited a few weeks ago, I ordered an oatmilk latte and have been 'suggested' to get single shot instead of double, because according to that one barista, their double it stronger than double and that he/they "can't deal with it". Well, okay. Appreciated the suggestion and got single. But single was too mellow actually; I mean tasted like single. So maybe don't give suggestions if you are the one who is a little peculiar with your coffee choice? And then visited another time a couple weeks later. The same barista attended. I order 2 quad shot oat milk lattes. I had to say "quad shot" 4 times. The other barista got it, and said it back to him from the back of the bar, yet that one couldn't get it. And instead orderer 2 matchas for me. LMAO. I said I did not say matcha. He told me it's my accent and that he's American; doesn't get it. I did not take it as insult. But yeah, I have an accent but hopefully not that heavy to turn 'Quad Shot' into 'Matcha'. Anyway. I said it was not match, it was QUAD SHOT OAT MILK LATTE. And 2! He still did not get it. HAHA! Then the other one came from the back side and thankfully said it again. Then guess what happened? We got 1 latte with oat milk, 1 latte with REGULAR MILK. And both had completely different amounts of coffee. Go figure. I literally saw him bringing a non-plant based milk box. I know the plant based milk brands in the market; that was not a plant based milk box. But did not want to accuse him just because of the shape of the milk box as I haven't seen the label. I noticed it once I had sipped my coffee once I was far away, at the beach level. I was too lazy to go back. Also was a little frustrated that probably I will have to deal with the same thing again. And it will end up being my fault cause I had an accent, haha. I just think maybe this guy can make an effort to remain sober/awake during work hours or something. I was not allergic to regular milk. But this could have been fatal for someone else. Gonna go again this week. I am just curious what's gonna happen this time.
