This is a very whimsical restaurant with interesting decor, which offers Latin fare. We were there for a corporate event, but the menu selection was broad. I especially liked the seviche and the vegetarian fajitas. Other interesting menu items were the refried beans with meat flavor and the fried rice with eggs. Service was courteous and prompt. We all commented on the interesting decor - bird-shaped lights, fish-shaped lights, an overgrown broken heart, lots of colorful lights. It's different in a good way.
Delicious Pisco Sour and Amore Cocktail. Excellent and attento e service. Today at 3.30 pm there was no happy hour memtioned anywhere... but still worthin the drinks.
There was an event going on but they were nice enough to let my partner and I dine in! Food was AMAZING! We got the lomo saltado and mango ceviche, and churros for dessert! We ate the churros before we took pictures. Oops! The servers were fantastic and very helpful. Never have I experienced such hospitality from a restaurant when they were already so busy with a pre booked event.
Amazing neighborhood gem in the Downtown SF area! Food was solid, we got the Halibut plate, Guac and chips, and the classic lomo saltado. The beef was cooked to perfection, extremely tender and buttery. There’s so much attention to detail with the ingredients they used, creating a delicate balance between flavors and textures. Overall a delicious meal, would highly recommend this Peruvian/mexican fusion spot!
Talk about an ambiance! Excellent music and vibe in general with a nice and tasteful menu. So far I’ve ordered the Peruvian soda “inka cola Peru. Additionally got the Bocado Sampler, it was tasted and fun. I do wish the plantain chips were included though. The menu was well presented to us by the waiter/server which allowed us to select food that would be adequate. I love the giant fish and other fish around! Keep up the good work and I can’t wait to see where they continue to grow.
El Dorado is an absolute gem! I stopped by after work and tried the Pollo Causa and Lomo Saltado, hands down the best I’ve had in a long time. It’s tough to find those dishes done right, but El Dorado absolutely nailed it. Every bite was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. What really made the experience stand out was Manny, the owner. He’s incredibly warm, welcoming, and passionate about what he does, you can feel that energy from the moment you walk in. The entire staff was just as friendly and attentive, which made the service top-notch from start to finish. The ambiance? Stunning. Super cozy, vibrant, and totally Instagram-worthy, the kind of spot you want to bring friends to or just treat yourself. And don’t sleep on the Pisco Sours, they’re dangerously good and crafted to perfection. Can’t wait to come back. El Dorado has definitely earned a spot in my regular rotation!
We caught this restaurant a couple of days after it opened, so it was a bit quiet, but the vibe was relaxed, and the music was chill. I am a picky eater, and I wouldn't describe myself as adventurous, but the food was solid. Everyone at my table enjoyed what they had. The Ultimate Margarita was smooth, too (shown). Since the restaurant had just opened, we were able to meet the chef, who was genuine and friendly. He apparently has been working at several top restaurant in the area before opening this place, and it shows in the food.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bocado, a new Peruvian restaurant in San Francisco, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish! The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for the incredible dining experience that awaited. The menu at Bocado offers a wide range of tantalizing Peruvian dishes, and I must say, each one exceeded my expectations. Let me start by raving about the Sangria—it was the perfect balance of flavors and a refreshing way to begin my meal. As for the ceviche, it was a true taste sensation. The fresh and tangy combination of citrus-marinated seafood was a burst of flavors that left me wanting more. I also had the pleasure of trying the salad, lomo saltado, and scallops, and each dish was crafted with great attention to detail. The salad was vibrant and crisp, the lomo saltado was a delicious mix of tender beef, sautéed vegetables, and a mouthwatering sauce, while the scallops were perfectly seared and melted in my mouth. Every bite was a celebration of Peruvian cuisine at its finest. Beyond the outstanding food, I must commend the restaurant's owner, Alex. His warm hospitality and genuine passion for Peruvian cuisine were evident throughout my visit. He took the time to personally recommend dishes and share interesting stories about the origins of each recipe. Alex's presence added an extra layer of authenticity to the dining experience, and his enthusiasm for Peruvian culture was infectious. To sum it up, Bocado is a true gem in the heart of San Francisco. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere make it a must-visit for anyone seeking an unforgettable Peruvian culinary adventure. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delectable menu. Kudos to Alex and his team for creating such a remarkable dining destination!
Bocado is a new addition to the neighborhood. This is a great destination any time of the day. The food is fresh and delicious and the beer is ice cold. The atmosphere is energetic with windows that open for a cafe feeling and amazing wall size TVs. Great for viewing sports and world travel destinations. The whole fish is enough for two, the empanadas are a delicious. I had the Shrimp with purple potatoes today. The shrimp is tender and generous. The spicy red hot sauce is a family recipe - my favorite. Sit at the bar to enjoy to ambiance & TVs. Check it out for yourself.
Top Shelf, because the service is impeccable, the owner is selfless and extremely inviting, and the food is so very good. I am on the wagon, so I didn't indulge in the drink menu, but it looked fantastic. The atmosphere is intimate in the seating area, and vibrant in the bar space. It's a lovely establishment wher I will frequently dine.

Yummy Peruvian food and nice service. Had the ceviche which was I thought a little to spicy but very tasty. Also the shrimp causa was good but only came with 2 shrimp. For some reason they gave me the tres leches desert on the house and it was AMAZING! You have to try it!!

One of the best Peruvian restaurants in the city! Would highly recommend the Ceviche Sampler to start, Tiradito Salmon Jalapeno, and any of the 'causas,' which are skewers. They have a great cocktail menu too. Could not recommend this place more.
Came here tonight for my birthday and it was such a lovely experience!! Aydu and the rest of the staff were so sweet and went above and beyond. Delicious food oh my god you have to try the beef empanadas SO good. 10/10 amazing place
Amazing service and amazing food per usual. We frequent their sister restaurant often and decided to try this place last night for dinner and it was delicious. Will come back again!
5/5 Trust me. Try this out. Former chef here. Food was outstanding, way above and beyond what we expected. The food blew us away, we were so surprised. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. I asked my wife to check if they have Michelin Stars. They served quite possibly the best quesabirria of my life. Meat was so tender, tortillas had just the right amount of crisp, the broth had wonderful body and bits, all of it seasoned impeccably. Lady had the Pulpo Sarandiado (Octopus) and she shared bites. Presentation was beautiful, seasoning was on point, and sauces were practically elegant. We had our eyebrows raised this whole meal, periodically slapping the table "holy ... this is so good", even the homemade Chicha Morada, a sweet purple corn drink, was so perfectly balanced. Their prices are decent, and we even feel they could raise 50% and it'd still be great value given the quality. Inside, it's comfortable, very clean, and the decorations were actually quite fun. The staff were very professional, enjoyable, and accommodating. This place can be famous if the right people experience it. We will absolutely return, and this may become one of our favorites.

Came here for a work luncheon. The ambiance is really nice. Very decorative. The service was great. I ordered the lobster enchiladas. It was good but a little bland. When they brought out the food, they brought 1 of 5 entrees. After about 10 mins, they brought 3 more entrees. Unfortunately, I was the last one who had to wait for their food and I’m the slowest eater. I think it’s better to bring everyone’s dishes at the same time. I understand that they could be short staffed and they wanted the food to get out to the customer hot and fresh. The prices are pretty too expensive for me. Every item was about $30+. It’s definitely not a place I’d just grab lunch for work. I think this place is best for a work luncheon or date.
This is a Peruvian fusion restaurant and they can also cook the way you want according to our server which we didn’t dare to do. The grilled red snapper which was $50+ came out first which was shocking because we didn’t wait too long for it after we order. The serving tray was huge and it was a good size fish until you flip the other side there was no meat on it. We also had Lomo Saltado and it was average and the meat wasn’t that tender and gets chewy as it gets colder. The ceviche was fresh but a bit bland. The staff were welcoming and we’re happy for the warm reception.

Food - My group shared everything and ordered a ceviche mixto, tuna ceviche, pescado fritto, and anticucho de pulpo (grilled octopus). I have had a lot of peruvian food in my life and can say that the presentation was done well and the taste was on point for all items ordered. The menu has a large variety of options, including sandwiches and salads that I'm, sure I would enjoy during lunch. Service - my group dined during a week night when there were not a lot of patrons, but as a result they only had one waiter/bartender. Unfortunately we could tell that he was sick but otherwise he took pretty good care of us. Atmosphere - I want to rate this a 5 for so many elements that I really enjoyed including the plates, cutlery, art, and lighting. However the very large projector of football behind the bar can illuminate almost half the restaurant and impact the ambiance. Also the shared bathroom and hallway is in serious need of upgrade. I would suggest the owners of this restaurant and the Indian restaurant next door contribute some joint funds for renovations for the joint benefit of their clientele.
Had the birria quesadilla and the queso and the Caesar salad and all were underwhelming. The plantains and the pico de gallo are great. The beef quesadilla would be better if it were served hot instead of lukewarm like I got today. Edit: had the chicken empanadas and same comment as the beef, this time they cut them into pieces and it was not hot. I won’t order the churros again, too much sugar and the chocolate sauce was lacking.
TL;DR Food was good but was not worth the extremely long wait. I hope the owners will solve this kitchen staffing issue. This was a Sunday night and the server let us know there was only one person in the kitchen to make food for the 9 tables seated that night (around half full). We ordered an appetizer and two mains. It took almost an hour for us to get all of our food. Our server was super nice about it and came to apologize several times but at the end of the day, we waited a long time and so did everyone else at the restaurant. Our server offered a dessert on the house at the end of the meal (after another compulsory wait). Looking at the other tables around the restaurant, everyone was waiting on mains for a long time. Some tables got one person's main, while the other person's took ~20 mins longer. The food was quite good. The Shrimp Causa was delicious and plated beautifully. The Lomo Saltado was full of flavor and the beef was cooked to a medium rare. The Tallarin Saltado was similar but we preferred the textural differences you get in the Lomo Saltado. We were also told that the 15% off discount advertised on Yelp was no longer valid but they choose to keep the post up on this restaurant page. This seems like some shady buisness practices. Timeline: 5:59: Ordered two mains and an appetizer 6:04: Got our appetizer, a shirmp causa 6:52: Got our mains 7:36: Got the dessert We would totally come back for the food, if they can fix the service times. Thanks to our server for looking after us and keeping us in the loop. Maybe I'll order from delivery apps next time.

We came here for the first time on a Saturday night, and they weren’t too busy. The service and food started off strong but didn’t end the best. For starters, the restaurant and ambiance is BEAUTIFUL! I was surprised by that. However, the service is very very slow and food is good to mediocre. We ordered both appetizers to start and the scallops were the highlight of the meal - amazing! We also got the big fried fish which was quite dry. They brought sauce in the side but didn’t tell us we would be charged for it lol but no worries, the food was decent but nothing to brag about. The alcoholic drinks, as others have noted, are for some reason very diluted for the price ($15-20). We finished with dessert which is also small for the price- $14 for a cake big enough for two bites. The worst part was waiting for the check as we sat there for 20 minutes or so with finished food in front of us while we waited for the server. Ultimately, we probably won’t be back. But it was an interesting experience. The restaurant has to work on service if they want to last
We wanted to like this place because we really like Peruvian food, but our experience was overall not the best on drinks, food, and service. The food ranged from ok to good. I found the big platter of grilled red snapper--though impressive in appearance--actually underwhelming in flavor. Service was a mixed bag. The restaurant was seriously understaffed for the number of diners they had, and one server consistently made racist assumptions about folks at my table. At least everyone else was fantastic and did the best they could with one arm tied behind their backs. We asked them to pack our substantial leftovers, and to the dismay of the person who took the snapper home, the restaurant did not pack all of the fish. They managed to stuff the tail and the head in the box, but not the thick fillets that were left on the platter. Would be willing to give this place another shot if they can iron these issues out.

I liked the previous menu better. The sweet plantain were amazing, the empanadas were good, but we didn’t enjoy the fajitas or chicken stir fry. The latter was tons of rice and very little chicken. Also was sad to see they don’t have taro chips and green salsa any more.
