Opinions de SOMA Eats San Francisco
This is a pleasant surprise in an area full of good food already. Lots of quality options at reasonable prices. Their breakfast burrito is incredible and the salmon salad is superb. Breakfast is usually under $10 and lunches under $20, unless you get a beer. Beer selection is extremely varied as well. Great spot for a healthy meal on the go or a quick drink!
I came here from a recommendation from a friend. She knows I've been eating healthier and mentioned that their salmon salad was amazing and super healthy. I ordered ahead through Yelp and the food was ready as soon as I got to the counter. While I didn't eat there, inside was super big, with high ceilings and had a few tables there. The salad was pretty big and average price for downtown sf. I noticed there was a lot of variety in the salad and the salmon piece was a huge portion. I loved the dressing that it came with. It went really well with the salmon. I normally dont like kale, but I actually really liked it in this salad. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to feel healthy and satisfied. It seems the salmon salad is one of the most popular items here too.
Soma Eats was a small but excellent restaurant. Their pulled pork sandwich was fabulous. Their drinks were also very good and unique.
I had the BLT & Zataar Egg Sandwich. I did not get a side or chips, and do not regret it. The sandwich was a good portion and did the job for a nice lunch in my opinion. I was very happy with my choice and would return again for the same sandwich without hesitation.
I love this restaurant bar combo in the heart of downtown. It may be called Soma Eats, but it is still decidedly north enough to be outside of what is regularly considered "Soma". They have an enormous fridge of canned and bottled beers that is constantly updated with seasonal varieties, and local favorites. The cold and hot sandwich selection is excellent, and will give you some new things to try from the average place. Definitely give this spot a try, after work downtown.
Love. Love. Great place to pick up a coffee, a beer, a tea...and a sandwich or a salad. Their oatmeal in the morning is very good as well. I love stopping in here (lunch time is crowded!) to grab a snack and a table for a few minutes. Comfortable. Staff is friendly too!
The pulled pork sandwich is awesome. I'm not sure how they make the sandwich, but it's very flavorful and juicy. My favorite sandwich in the area
Food is excellent and healthy (I wish the lunch sandwiches were a little bigger!) The breakfast sandos are amazing, and this place might also have the best craft beer selection in the city. Good place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee or getting drunk. #allthethings
Wonderful for breakfast, lunch, and happy hour. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito (unique among its local peers) and surprisingly tasty drip coffee. The insane selection of beer, wine, and liquor doesn’t hurt.
I'm a country girl from the southeast (Georgia) in the big city of San Francisco looking for lunch. I found this wonderful little spot that offers a wonderful pulled pork sandwich on chibatta bread. Great drink selection and has super fast and friendly service. Very reasonable price. Love it!!
Great sandwiches, good drink options, decent prices. If you like Indian food, the turkey meatloaf sandwich is a great take on it. It was a little loud and busy but that might be because there was a conference in town when I visited. Definitely a good place to grab some lunch to go or dine in for a quick bite.
Delicious. Fast service. Clean
Great place, great and fast service. Nice breakfast. Also a superb craft beer selection, hundreds of brews. Too bad it isn't open at night or in the weekend.
I find it surprising that there aren't a lot of breakfast options in SFO downtown core, but I am glad that I have hit this place. The combination of ham, egg, cheese and mustard on the croque madame is just on the spot. Will visit again.
I regularly have breakfast here. The oatmeal is great, perfect balance of oats, granola, fruit and honey. I had the croque madame for the first time today and it was delish.
The food is good and healthy. Make sure you order ahead to skip the line.
I've tried a couple of dishes and all of them were great. Delicious and tasty. Love the presentation as well.

My go to place for lunch. I look forward to getting my weekly fix of the lamb bowl. The sandwiches are also very good. Service is always fast and friendly, and it’s an easy and delicious grab and go option.
Soma Eats exceeded my expectations. Food is fresh and made quickly. There is a wide variety of options and the service is quite good. The sandwiches and soups are good options.

All around good spot that tends not to get over crowded. Coffee is great, especially the pour over. Beer selection is superb, both for purchase and for consumption. All sorts of liquor available for purchase as well. Haven't eaten here that much, but what I've had was good. Ambience is nice with a library in the woods kind of feel, although feels a little overly sterile, which can be good or bad. I mainly go here for coffee, and occasionally I get the feeling that they're annoyed when I ask for a pour over.
It's a nice place. Had drinks there one evening and coffee the next morning and they did a good job on both. The beer and wine selection is nice and the small dishes were pretty good too. We had the cheese plate and one other (I think it was something with eggplant). I'd stop by again if I'm in the area.
Really interesting establishment. Limited food options with about 5 salads, and ~6 hot/cold sandwich options, but they have just about every beer option you could wish for. The other wall is filled with different types of whiskeys and I believe they have a decent wine selection as well. Tried the pulled pork sandwich which was a little bland. The salads all looked phenomenal though.
Good is good and service is fast! I came here for lunch with a friend. The sandwiches come with a small side of edamame which is a nice extra addition to your meal. My friend and I both enjoyed our food. There is not a ton of seating inside, so be sure to get there early and grab a spot!
Attended a private party that was hosted by my University as a networking event. The food provided was good. Charcuterie boards had pretty good ingredients but nothing to go crazy about. The prepared smaller dishes were tastey, specifically the pulled pork sandwiches. I did not have any booze but the selection seemed very expansive yet also expensive. Not sure how the place operates normally but it was a nice venue for a small gathering of around 50 people.
Very busy at lunch but the lines move fast. The sandwiches come out quick too. I liked the Turkey sandwich. I also ordered the jerk chicken sandwich. I was not a fan of the jerk chicken. I saw a lot of people ordered the salmon salad. It looked really good. I'll try that next time.
This may end up as a five star soon if I go back a time or two and have similar experiences as this morning. The breakfast burrito was amazing and the guy at the register recommended adding avacado which was great. I have heard they have some awesome sandwiches as well so I plan to go back and try one or two of those. I love the decor. The copper bar is fun to sit at and there is copper everywhere. It's quite unique.
Very chic place for lunch, salad, sandwiches and soups. I had the roasted lamb sandwich and it was awesome. Perfectly roasted lamb with fresh bread. Hit the spot. The average cost of a dish is about $12. If you are close drop in and try a nice lunch.
If you enjoy salads, Soma Eats just might have the best salads in all of San Francisco! Their sandwiches are good, but the salads are outstanding! Soma Eats is like a hybrid bar and cafe with a rustically modern vibe. Their beer selection is off the hook! Seasonal beers, and hard to find beers from around the world. Their "bottle shop" sells curated beers, fine wines and select spirits. You can enjoy these here and enjoy the atmosphere, or take them home. Soma Eats can either be a place to grab a delicious bite, meet friends for a drink or a little of both.
This is a convenient and decent place to go for a quick bite during the work week. It's not open on the weekend so don't go there then. The food is reasonable cost is not bad and they keep it clean. If you're hungry and need a quick bite it's worth checking out.
They are open for only three hours in an entire day ! I wish I could get away with working banking hours :). Great location : 2nd street is an architecture marvel, full of buildings with spacious converted lofts; Soma Eats made the right decision to be within these buildings; it’s a classy, stylish, sprawling and yet a cozy joint; Vegetarian salads and sandwiches are tangy ! Wish they opened earlier in the day so I can have coffee.
My brain had a hard time wrapping itself around what this place is. Is it a bar? Well, you can seat yourself and get a casual drink with friends, but it's so brightly lit for a bar. Yet it doesn't quite feel like a cafe or restaurant, even though you can get a mix of casual dishes there without the fuss of a sit-down restaurant (the salmon salad was good, as is the cheese plate)-- it feels a bit like a retail space. It's at least very convenient for a changing-size group of people dropping by for a drink or to eat something over a few hours.
Busy SoMa lunch spot, but the interior is sleek and very clean, has a good vibe to the place. I stopped in between things and they had enough seating for me to grab a spot by myself. Lots of wine choices, and really good food. As pedestrian as it may seem, I like a good egg salad sandwich (I mean actually good, not the pre-packaged jobs at gas stations), and theirs was the best I have ever had. It has roasted peppers in it and seasoned well so it's very tasty without being salty it overpowering. They have also mastered that balance between too thick and too runny, which evades even me at times and I make myself egg salad fairly regularly. Atmosphere and food are great though, the edamame is also fabulous, so if you're nearby and hungry, stop in!
Delicious breakfast. The spice burrito is fantastic but the bacon egg and cheese sandwich with some avocado might be the best thing I've eaten in San Francisco. It looks like it would be a good spot for lunch or happy hour too.
Fast service and decently filling but healthy food. My favorite is probably the Greek goddess salad with salmon. The decor is pretty modern and woody, and the selection of drinks available is pretty great too.
The Lamb bowl was delicious! Took one star off because on the menu they showed different types of coffee and espresso drinks. But when I ordered, they said they don't have any of those items and pointed me to the bottles in the fridge instead🤦♀️
Good food and super reasonable prices. Coffee was delish as well.

I wish they had more vegetarian sandwiches as I don't like eggplant as much. I loved the lentil protein bowl though. It was yum, healthy and filling. Loved the crunchy onion and Tortilla chips in it.
Smaller portions but not super expensive either. So it was alright. The tables by the window are the best seats in the house. The back of the restaurant is a bit dark. Food was not bad. I had the lentil bowl. Was vegan, nice to have that option.

Decent sandwiches for the price but not anything special. The evening dinner menu is also a lot more expensive than the lunch menu even though the sandwiches are smaller, so definitely try to go early. I had the lamb sandwich which was nicely seasoned but the bread did not taste very fresh.
Ordered online so can’t comment about service or atmosphere. Food was delicious and fresh but very small portion for the price
Decent spot to grab a quick espresso. I got it to go but I should just have enjoyed it there while waiting for friends to get their orders. 3.86 for the shot and it did its job.

Came here for team lunch and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would! Got the the lamb tagine bowl- their portion size is good for the price $16 and they serve you a good amount of meat as well. Loved the cous and cous and the carrots since it paired rly well with the meat and the yogurt sauce was yummy and added a lot of flavor.
Food is not marked with vegetarian, gluten free; lactose free or how spicy it is. Portions are fairly small for the price you pay. I had pomegranate chicken with cous cous and it was super spicy, way too much cous cous (the tiny gross kind), very thin on vegetables and chicken and the paste was not properly homogenized. I basically was still hungry after having lunch. I don’t recommend the place.

I will never order from here again! I ordered a deviled egg salad sandwich for my team meeting, expecting it to be vegetarian since there was no description on the site. To my surprise, there were huge pieces of bacon in the sandwich. I emailed the management team about the issue but received no reply or apology. My company orders from Soma Eats every week, and it's disappointing to receive such rude service.
Ordered the Lentil salad. The dressing was a very smelly oil. The chips in the salad were super unhealthy - deep fried in oil. Super expense, yet unhealthy. I could not eat more than a single spoon.
*Changing to one star due to how insanely rude the staff is here. When you go in to order they act like you’re interrupting their day. Today they handed me the wrong food, which I didn’t realize until I got back to my office. I walked all the way back to return it and get the right thing and instead they blamed me for taking the wrong thing which is perplexing given I was sitting at a table waiting for my food and the guy handed me a box. I like the food but that’s how you lose a customer for life.
