Gong Cha

It’s one of my favorite places to go for the “Too Good To Go” app, alongside CoolTeaBar. Truth be told, I don’t understand why it is only rated 4.5 stars on the app. The drinks are as good as CoolTeaBar which has 4.7 star rating.

1 check-in Yess! I've been waiting for the SF location to open since the beginning of the year, it's been such a long suspenseful wait! I was hoping I would be the first customer and first reviewer haha. I have always loved the quality of the Palo Alto location and believe that their milk tea is the closest to Taiwan's in the bay area. The boba is also the closest you can get here in the bay, it doesn't melt in your mouth like it does in Taiwan, but it's still honey sweet and chewy. This location is good, but not as good as the Palo Alto location because the tea taste isn't as strong. However, I'm still rating it 5 stars because this is the best boba milk tea in the city after growing up here and seeing the quality of boba go downhill over the years. And yes, boba guys don't come even close, it's definitely overrated and not authentic. Gongcha is more authentic because they have a creamy taste in their milk tea similar to Taiwan's. If you can't instantaneously travel to Taiwan but have a crazy craving for boba, definitely come here!

Like any Gong Cha, their boba is great. When seating was open to the public, the upstairs environment was a pleasant place to sit and do some reading. Overall it's clean and efficient, and the staff are friendly and understanding.

We were so excited to visit since we’re from Florida and the only Gongcha near us closed, so the only time we can have it is when we travel, and this one did not disappoint! We ordered 5 drinks but they were so quick and efficient getting them to us, and they all tasted great! The workers were also super nice, and I highly recommend if you’re in the need of a boba fix or want to try something new!

The best bubble tea I've ever had. Got the ear grey tea with herbal jelly. It had the right amount of sugar and the flavor was so delicate. Loved it! Went again, and this time got the brown sugar milk tea with some boba. At 25% sugar it was perfect!

Got the gingerbread milk tea bottle for the holiday - super cute and I can keep the bottle. Only downside was they do not pick up phone and message response time was not ideal. But delicious drink and cute bottle!

The female clerk (age between 35-45) so kind and nice❤️❤️❤️I walked for over 30 mins there, but they said they were already closed.. I said I’d walked so far, the clerk said ok and let me get a bubble milk tea🥹🥹🥹 (but that’s because they happened to have one available)

First time try this place and fall in love right away. The drinks are sweet, creamy, and flavorful; plus a bigger in quantity of topping; such a good quality for drinks. Even though, I wish they open on Sunday and Monday too. Otherwise, everything else is awesome.

I was just a little annoyed about the prices since the menu they had said one price and the actual price turned out to be a few cents more. But the quality is great! And the service was good!

Ordered an earl grey milk tea. The team is delicious, top notch. Straw is cool, some sort of recycled paper I think? Neat texture. Bobas are cooked well, but plain - not sweetened with honey or brown sugar or anything. I'd prefer sweeter or flavored bobas. Not the best boba I've had in SF, but good! Recommended.

Loved the brown sugar milkshake!! So yummy. Just wish their straws worked better..I know people have an issue with plastic, but Gong Cha pleassee get some thick, plastic straws for your drinks...would greatly appreciate this. 🙏❤️❤️

They were good. But the kiosk takes away from customer interaction. There's no talking between the server and the customers, except to call your number. Atmosphere was much better when they didn't have the kiosk.

I stopped by on a Monday, a bit after lunchtime to try a few of Felix's Pick! drinks for the new Stray Kids Felix cup sleeves. The wait for 2 medium boba drinks was longer than I expected because someone before me ordered like 20 drinks. There was only 1 person making the drinks as well. I'm not the biggest fan of bubble tea and super sugary drinks, so I modified the drinks with reduced sugar and no ice. Felix's Pick! - Brown Sugar Milk Tea w/ Pearls is a classic and basic milk tea drink. Felix's Pick! - Milk Foam Oolong Tea w/ Coconut Jelly tastes like a tropical pineapple type of drink. If I had to pick one, I'd go with the Brown Sugar Milk Tea. Overall, this Gong Cha location is more of a grab and go spot since there are very few seats available. It doesn't really lend itself to be a chat and catch up type of boba establishment. As a fan of Stray Kids, I was mainly disappointed that the Felix cardboard cut out was barricaded by the stairwell.

The staff responded kindly. The bubble milk tea was delicious. I liked it because it tasted like I originally knew it. It was nice to meet the Gongcha I used to eat in Korea in San Francisco.

Drinks were good and filled with lots of add-ins but what I didn’t like is that they put too much ice, so ask for ice level under a 100% and one drink had too much boba add ins that it was too sweet.

I ordered a simple milk tea with boba from one of the touchscreen kiosks and waited next to a staircase where I had a good view of the staff preparing the orders. I waited, and waited and waited some more as the staff called out the orders ahead of me. I watched as the female staff poured out the milk mixtures from nearly empty jugs. After waiting nearly a half hour, she finally got to my order. The milk tea tasted ok but not worth waiting a half hour for.

Bubbles were too hard. I ordered black sugar bubble tea, but tasted more like syrup , not like all black sugar.

Terrible drinks, the old man who was telling his workers to do make my drinks seemed really impatient and gave the environment a terrible look. This type of behavior seen in the workspace really disappointed me as a Boba enthusiast. I also asked for Normal sweet and was given NO sweetness.

It’s takes 20 minutes for 1 order to make. And the kids just keep talking with their friend. Yes I stand in there for 20 minutes, watched them talk and laugh. And still made wrong order when I asked for 50% ice but got no ice. I don’t want to say anything, they are just a kids.
