Opinions de Good Luck Dim Sum San Francisco
Really enjoyed the ham sui goc (fried gluttonous rice dumplings). The texture variety of the crunchy exterior and soft and squishy interior, combined with the sweet and salty filling was awesome. Also enjoyed the chive and pork dumplings. Otherwise, also had the sui mai, har gao, and baked BBQ pork bun. All were decent or good.
Really fast service, nice employees Bathroom is available Everything there is good. Get the dishes right after they are cooked. Everything made in house. They have drinks as well. (Water, coconut water, etc) LINES CAN GET LONG 2:30-3 is a great time to come. Pan fried dumpling shrimp and chive forgot the name but it is the best there.
Found this small little dim sum place based on recommendations from locals on Reddit and we were very happy we found it! They have a small order form you can fill out while waiting in line, which helps speed up the ordering process and avoids any miss communication between the customer and staff. The staff was very friendly, but we didn't have to interact much which due to the ordering sheet. Everything we ordered was delicious! You can see our order sheet in the attached picture. The BBQ pork buns were a bit more on the sweet side that I would like personally, but delicious nonetheless. The seating space inside is a little tight, so we got our order to go and walked a few blocks north into the park and enjoyed our delicious lunch on bench. Overall we were very pleased and found the prices very affordable. We will certainly be back next time we are back in town. Note - this place is cash only!
Absolute gem and grateful they are still around. Been going here for years and the food has never been anything but delicious and the prices are always reasonable. Sometimes they have a long line, but don’t let that scare you away. They move fast and it’s worth the wait!
Excellent dim sum at a reasonable price. And fun spot to have lunch while busy shopping on Clement, with a little movie history. You might even see Ali Wong walk past like I did!
Really good shrimp dumplings. Great variety of high quality dim sum at a low price. No frills, order at counter and sit down at one of the tables or take out. Extremely hot tea, which was pleasing for my dad. Bring your tourist friends here for the classic SF dim sum counter experience. Better quality than most chinatown spots, this place caters to locals
This location has a wide variety of dim sum options, we’ve gone about a dozen times and still have a lot to try. There’s usually a line but it goes fast. Ask for dipping sauce and chili, they are great. There’s tables inside but the space is limited and seating is not promised. This place is a must stop anytime we’re in SF. Grab a menu while you wait and get ready to order once you get inside so you don’t hold up the line.
Every time I’m back in my hometown I head over to good luck dim sum. For the price you can’t beat their Bao, Har gow, Shumai , etc, Service is your typical cantonese charm… none Interior is dreary but you aint here for the atmosphere You line up and fill out the pink order sheet…. Me I piss them off and just order in my broken cantonese Highly recommended Xie Xie
Pretty good dim sum!! Cash only. Long line up but it went by pretty fast. Ok, it is our first time being here. So, this is a FUNNY story. The sheet says 3 for $3.60. We assumed it would be select 3 items for $3.60. I wished the sheet made it more clear. Apparently, it’s 1 selection comes with 3 pieces. Clearly, we didn’t know. So, we ended up with so much food! This is something to watch out for if you’re new to this store. 😂 We ended up paying over $80 which is fine. We can finish it over the days and plus support Asian business
Counter service dim sum, seat yourself. Cash only. Very much so a “no frills” type place. The pork bun was a little sweet for my liking, but everything else was good. Dirt cheap prices, everything pictures was less than $20
Baked BBQ Pork Bun was the best that I've had. Dim sum was a lot more expensive than the last time I visited. I thought that it was cheap that time, this time it was not expensive, but definitely not as reasonable. Food was still pretty good, but just not as good as several other favorite places around the country. Cash only!
You come here to pick up their dim sum and get away as quickly as possible. The ladies are nasty/rude, but their dim sum is so good! check out shrimp and chives, and shrimp dumplings
No frills dim sum takeout with a handful of tables inside. Bonus points for having about seven tables. Service is super fast, but this is a cash only spot and you can only order what they have available at the time. If they run out of something, you’ll have to pick something else. The siu mai was good and the har gow was the standout. Juicy and well wrapped. The chicken feet were tender but had a strange flavor and weren’t my favorite. They don’t have chili oil, but they do offer ground chili and soy sauce, which works well enough. Come for speed and solid classics, not variety or extras.
I came here early Saturday morning and the long lines I heard about haven’t started yet. My pork sui mai was acceptable, nothing to write home about. The beef sui mai tasted a little artificial, doesn’t taste like beef? The dim sum is reasonable here, but not really that fresh or good? It is nice they have few tables in the back so you eat it there if you want. Also the bathroom is a bonus.
One of the best Dim Sum places in SF. Located in a bustling neighborhood of Richmond, this place has a perfect menu with reasonably priced goodies! The quality and taste definitely deserve five stars. The only downside is they don’t specify ingredients in some of their items which might confuse some dietary restricted customers! I got a big chicken bun thinking that it had chicken filling for someone who doesn’t eat pork, but found out it had pork and boiled egg fillings along with chicken. It would be better if the menu items are descriptive, esp considering that they are always busy and the line can go almost half a block; this would save some time for the employees explaining customers unfamiliar to Dim Sum.
Great value dim sum spot, but it definitely isn't for everyone. They give you a sheet with a wide range of selections to choose from, all which are actually really well priced. However, they seem to be missing items all the time (we went for lunch), and the service is quick paced, so you need to know what you want and alternatives if needed when you get to the ordering spot. The dining environment is small, and not a great place to dine in cleanliness wise, so take out is probably the better option. What they did have, though, was very good. It's a popular spot, so the line can definitely build up. Overall, a pretty good place, but not one I would go to all the time for Dim Sum needs.
It's a cash ok only local joint. You need to know what you want to order. The server was ready to move on to the next customer. I got an annoyed look when we were taking time to order. Since most of the dim sum dishes are made in batches, fried items may get soggy. Stick to non fried dishes. Both shrimp dumplings and shumai were decent size and good. The BBQ pork buns were better than steamed ones.
Be aware this place is cash only, which wasn’t clear upfront. Customer service was also pretty rude. I was just looking at the paper menu and pointed to a few items that were circled, saying I wanted to order those. The waiter immediately said, “No, we don’t have those,” in a really dismissive way instead of explaining or helping. The whole interaction felt unnecessary and unfriendly. Definitely not a welcoming experience.
