Opinions de Kamekyo San Francisco
my uncle's restaurant :] love getting sushi and drinks here, yeah it's pricey, but so is everything in sf lol :P
Quaint resturaunt with delicious Japanese food. My favorite is the cucumber salad, but the seaweed salad is also really wonderful. Udon broth is really second to none. Love Kamekyo!
Perfect lunch outside. Nice lunch menu either sashimi or bento box. Selection of beers and Sake. Excellent service!
Ate here for my lunch break and the amaebi is a great price and so fresh and yummy! They even fry the shrimp head 😁 California roll is also made with real crab and perfect! Coming back for my lunch break again today!

Cozy and easy neighborhood joint. food is solid, not cheap but reasonable for seafood since they don’t skimp. Have eaten here twice after moving to the neighborhood and happy every time.
I had a very good time here. Nice and easy experience.
This is one of my favorite neighborhood spots! We only ever get the nigiri and maki but it is always amazing quality and I think the price is reasonable. They also are very accommodating of my gluten allergy and have tamari available. Staff is great and the location is lovely.
Super cozy spot and definitely not as expensive as others make it sound (especially compared to all other sushi restaurants in SF). The udon noodle broth lived up to the hype, maybe even better than expected, and we were very happy with the quality of the sushi! We plan to return to try more of the menu :)
This is a great neighborhood spot! I’ve been coming here for years and the sushi is so fresh and consistently delicious. I don’t live in SF anymore but I always make sure to stop here for sushi when I’m in town
The special, hamachi kama, was excellent. They do a fantastic eggplant and sushi is great. We brought our infant and the sushi chef, I’m assuming owner was so kind and happy to have us at the counter. We’ll consistently go back for the food and atmosphere.
This place is such a vibe. I have been coming here with my dad ever since we moved into the neighborhood (abt 4 yrs ago) and every time it’s great! All the types of sushi are great, especially the special rolls like the 49ers roll. The bento boxes and other mains like ginger pork and such are also sublime. My only small problem is it’s more expensive. But to me it’s worth every cent due to the nice service and amazing food❤️

Amazing and friendly neighborhood sushi spot!
Best sushi in the area. Ask the chefs for what’s fresh!

This is our "local" sushi bar. We go here once or twice a month usually. One of the things that stands out about this place right away is how awesome they are with the little ones. Everyone there really goes our of their way to make it easy to bring your kid. No matter what age, 8 month, or 3 years old, they always have something to help the dinner go great. The key for good food, like most sushi places, is simply to let the chef know how much you want to eat and have him pick what to serve you. That usually works out well for us. The fish is of average quality and the variety is about average as well, but we have never had anything bad here.We really like supporting our local neighborhood joints and this place is great.
Great Sushi in Cole Valley! Their fish is very fresh and flavorful. Their portions are about average, in general this is a good place to stop by to get some sushi or some tonkatsu. Their toro is prepared nicely here and if you like that cut you won't be wasting your money.

When I first moved to Cole Valley I was very excited sushi was only a few steps away. This was never one of my favorite sushi spots, but it got the job done. As I continued to go the sushi continued to decrease in complexity and taste. If you're just looking for Spicy Tuna or a simple roll I recommend Grandeho's Kamekyo. If specialty rolls are more what you have in mind, try a different location.

I ordered the Bento box. Beef and Tuna Sashimi. Kind of surprised that the beef wasn't cut in stripes but cut like almost minced. The sauce was extremely salty and the beef was smothered in it.

we are regulars here. We came in to have a nice lunch, and in the middle of our meal, this city worker started doing some construction work inside the restaurant on their door that was incredibly loud to the point where it was ear piercingly painful. The manager kept trying to laugh it off when we explained that eating under these conditions was unacceptable, and when we asked the worker to stop he said “ I’m on the clock bro. I got places to go bro. take it up with the city” as we were leaving. This is a relatively expensive restaurant in a nice neighborhood, but management obviously does not value its customers. Only after directly asking the manager multiple times to ask the worker to stop did he halfheartedly attempt to stop what was going on in his own restaurant and failed to do so. By way of an apology our $60 lunch was marked down to $40 (after multiple attempts insisting that the manager”make it right”). but the literal ear damage had already been done, and honestly this shouldn’t be happening at all to diners. I sure as hell I’m not supporting this restaurant anymore.

Freshness is literally the most important thing for sushi, and mine *smelled* of spoiled fish. I only ate a little bit (smell wasn't too strong) but still had an upset stomach after.
Not great. There are other, better options for Japanese food and it’s not here. Had a bento box here and I could tell the tempura was old (crust was too thick, each piece was a bit too heavy, oily, etc). Sushi had too much sauce, felt as if the sauce masked how low grade the raw fish was. Service was soso.
I am writing because of the customer service. I have never had such a bad experience with customer service in my life as I did here. So so rude. My little girl spilled her miso soup and the waitress (owners wife?) didn't even help just gave us a dirty look as it was all over our table, my daughter etc...lol They CLEARLY saw it happen if but did not even stop rolling silverware to help. They had been rude before but we liked the sushi and just put up with it. This was so over the top rude and disrespectful we walked out and never went back.
Unbelievably horrible. Expensive, small portions, truly awful quality. Stay away at all costs. If you eat here and you're lucky, you won't get horrific food poisoning to top off a wholly disappointing dining experience.
