Fresh, delicious Puerto Rican staples served in a friendly, warm environment. Will be back!!
The food is great. We arrived during happy hours so we got to have the Puerto Rico sampler and everything (especially the pernil and yuca) was delicious. The atmosphere is great. They constantly play great Puerto Rican music at a good volume to enjoy while still being able to converse.
I’ve been coming to Prada 22 since they first opened basically a loyal groupie at this point. And let me tell you, the food is CONSISTENTLY phenomenal. Don’t just take my word for it even Dave Chappelle popped in recently to grab a bite. Legends recognize legends. Now… let’s talk food. The Pastelón? My forever order. It’s this glorious Puerto Rican style meat casserole layered with sweet fried plantains, savory beef, green olives, and baked with pure love. It comes with rice, beans, and salad and I swear even the pickiest eater at the table suddenly forgets how to complain. It’s comfort food with main-character energy. Apps? Run, don’t walk, to the beef empanadas. I tried the chicken and veggie (for research purposes obviously), but the beef takes first place every time. Crispy, golden, perfect. And the fried yuca? Bomb. But the real star? That cilantro dip they serve with it. FIRE. I think about that sauce at inappropriate times. If you want authentic Puerto Rican goodness, order the mofongo. You can do chicken or pork, but I’m telling you get the pork. It’s marinated, saucy, tender, and basically melts your soul. And ask for the orange salsa. It’s spicy and addictive. If you’re sensitive to heat, proceed with caution. If you love spice? Put that stuff on everything and thank me later. The vibe? Small hole-in-the-wall magic. About 20 tables total, cozy, no fuss the kind of place that feels like you discovered it (even though it’s iconic). It’s tucked at the end of Haight Street, so if you’re on a date, it’s the perfect excuse to stroll the park after dinner. Romantic without trying too hard. The staff? Always friendly, quick, and hustling. They WORK. Tip your servers they deserve it. Prices are super reasonable about $18 $20 a plate and they do NOT play around with portions. You will have leftovers. That’s a promise. Prada 22 is my go to for first dates, family visiting from out of town, catching up with old friends honestly any excuse works. It’s authentic, it’s flavorful, it’s consistent, and it never disappoints. Oh and you can buy the salsa for $10. Do it. Your fridge deserves that kind of happiness. Prada 22? Certified banger.
This place is pure perfection and they definitely know how to cook puerto rican food in original recipes but would satisfy a modern taste. Everything was perfectly cooked and this very friendly restaurant is always either slightly buzzing or very buzzing and I'm super happy that it is doing well in San Francisco. So many good things on their menu and the prices are actually quite a bargain considering the typical price in San Francisco for that quality of food.
Authentic, delicious and inviting. My Puerto Rican husband was transported to the mother land. Everything was flavorful, perfectly spiced and tasty-fully homemade. Coconut flan and the coffee are a perfect pairing. Be patient with service and food. WORTH THE WAIT. We will definitely make this. Must stop whilst in the city.
The Jibarito Sandwich is delicious—I got it with the roasted pork that just melts in your mouth. They swap the bread with fried plantains that are perfectly crusted. Make sure to order the cilantro garlic crema as a topper to any dish, it’s fire
The food I had delivered to my place from this place was simply Devine ! The food I had delivered to my residence from this place was like butter in my mouth! The fried chicken was nice and crispy just the way I loved it. The vegetables were good as well! I highly recommend this place. I give them 5 stars ⭐️!
I came to this restaurant with my husband and kids and we were blown away by everything that was put in front of us. Everything was tasty, fresh, and delicious! There were a few vegetarian/pescatarion options so if you are vegetarian or pescatarian, you definitely don't have to go somewhere else. They also had breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. We absolutely loved this lunch and would definitely recommend going here!!!
We had a wonderful time. The restaurant is beautiful, the music is lovely, and the food is excellent. We had a platter that was vegan (the vegetarian platter) — delicious if you’re vegan, the pork plate, and breakfast eggs. The server Walter Duran was a joy! Thank you!
The food was beautiful. I ordered the monfongo supremo with tostones and a side of arroz con gandules. I wasn't expecting this but when I began to eat my food I was transformed back to grandmas house an experience I've lived 1000 times and the food brought me to tears. How beautiful the love is in the food. This place has Boricua soul and the vibe is right. Parada 22 better be on your list if you love food and soul. This is my soul food
If you’re feeling like some epic, no fuss, quality Puerto Rican food.. look no further☀️ High open ceilings and brick walls ❤️ Had the Bisteco Encebollado😋😋 Well seasoned steak, onions for days (good ones), rice and beans that were to die for and a salad with a tasty vinaigrette! Thank you for the warm service and lovely experience🙇🏻♂️
First time in this little hidden puertorrican restaurant gem in San Francisco suburbs. Good customer service, friendly staff.and the food was amazing. We went there looking for good Hispanic lunch and we can’t be disappointed. The place was cleaned and restrooms as well. There is no parking, you’ll have to pay for it in a parking lot or on the street. Definitely well recommended.
I was surprised by this restaurant. Food was pretty good despite the location. Ordered the bistec encebollado & the Puerto Rican sampler. Food did take about 30 minutes but understandably so. It was a lot of different combination of flavors. The salsa rosada was a perfect sauce for the protein. The rice was soft & seasoned well, plátanos were perfect, tostones were ok. The closest we’ll get to puertos rican food in San Francisco. I will be returning.
Cute cozy spot on Haight serving Puerto Rican food. Only one waitress working the whole restaurant tonight, and she was friendly and welcoming. I've ordered the mofongo before and it is yummy. Tonight I tried the chincharrones de pollo. The breading was too thick for my liking. The crust was crispy but kept eating chunks of breading. I wish there was regular chincharron on the menu also. Beans, rice, and tostones were satisfactory. The yuca fries and the sauce it came with was nice as well. We enjoyed the house hot sauce and put it on everything.
i came in after the haight street fair and i tell you this place smelled phenomenal. we sat down immediately and ordered shortly after. however, our food took almost an hour to cook. i ordered the special which imo lacked some flavor. the plantains ruled the dish (not a bad thing). i tried the things my friends ordered and they were so much better
Food was great, service took a while to be help while seating on a table about 30 to 40. Once they took our order food came out at a dessent time. It's definitely a great place to taste some Puerto Rican food. Just make sure to have patience for the wait. You won't be disappointed with the food.
This place is not bad but it did not meet my expectations. Im from the Caribbean and I was craving some rice and beans. The food wasn’t bad but it did not meet my expectations. The beans were a bit dry, the mofongo was good as well as the tostones, but the sweet plantains did not taste fresh. Lastly, the place is nicely decorated and the service was fast.
As a Puerto Rican and Bay Area foodie, I'm very disappointed about my experience at Parada 22 last night. I needed to wash my hands and asked the waiter for the bathroom. He directed me to walk through the kitchen where all the food was being prepped and there was a station in the back of the kitchen off to the side where I could wash my hands. As I walk through the floor was dripping wet and I had to walk very carefully to not slip. There were other customers who needed to use the bathroom who were also instructed by staff to walk through the kitchen. I noticed a couple called over the waiter and found an unknown object in their food and the man was understandable pretty disgusted about it. There was a back and forth with the man and waiter and ultimately had the waiter take the food away. Shortly after they asked for the check and the customer became increasingly upset at the waiter. The waiter walks away from the customers and the customer asks for the receipt and the waiter ignores him. The customers visibly upset walk out. We ask for the check. The waiter comes and my boyfriend pays him, and the waiter without saying a word walks away to attend the next customer. No thank you, nothing. We found this pretty disrespectful and poor customer service. Saying thank you is the bare minimum for customer service. I shared our dissatisfaction with the waiter and he became defensive claiming he did say thank you and gaslighted us. I've honestly never experienced such poor communication and terrible service. I truly wanted to give this place a chance but after this experience I don't see myself or my boyfriend going back and we will not be recommending it.
I dropped over 300 to get food catered. Unfortunately for me the don’t cater in the form of large pans it’s all individual meals. So it’s false advertising is not really catering. The in reality only offer sides in large style catering format. It was highly disappointing and will never order catering from the again. This place is a disgrace when it comes to portion sizes. I go one baby scoop of rice and a half a spoon full of beans. To tell you I was embarrassed and shocked to be serving these individual meals to my guest at my party is is an understatement. They should be ashamed of themselves serving this portion sizes in catering. No self respecting Boricua like myself or other would ever have the audacity to serve such meager rations to their guest. I was highly upset upon opening containers. A guest from my party stated those are not the portion sizes you get in person. It’s a shame because the food was good but when you barely gave me enough of rice and beans which is the most import components of a the cuisine it’s laughable
