Opinions de The Kezar Pub San Francisco
Great pub with neighborhood feel that has been here for ages. Love the photos of Kezar Stadium when the Niners used to play their games there. Also, it has absolutely the best hot wings in the city. Good people, good food, good beers. It's worth checking out.
Moved to the city four months ago and have made this my go-to spot to watch games. Food is very good for bar standards, and tons of TVs in the back room. Service is great as well. Typical S.F. tap selection.
Watched the Lions playoff game here. Great atmosphere, good food, and was not too expensive. Overall a good place to watch the game with other fans. Will be coming back again
One of the best places in The City to catch a game. You will definitely get in the mood and it's just a lot of fun to shout yourself hoarse and chomp those killer buffalo wings. The waitresses are on top of it and keep your drinks coming. Just a great place.
One of the best cramped little sports bars in the city. Gangnam style wings are A++ beers, IPAs and cocktails are also excellent. Headquarters for Niners Nation and Liverpool FC fans!
The most delicious fish and chips in the city that won't break the bank. Come here for an unplanned dance party on a Sunday afternoon; the drinks are tall. With the fries, the buffalo sauce is a need. The only drawback is that the bench seats are quite flimsy, but that just adds to the atmosphere.
They have a lot of beers on tap. Great selection of different types leaning heavy on IPAs. Their menu is pretty large and everything I had was delicious. Very much like over the top irish pub food. They had a bunch of tv's everywhere and the sound was on which I enjoyed. The food came out fast and the service was good.
Great Buffalo wings! Nice little patio during Covid times, note that there are a lot of regulars though and the place gets busy early. But worth waiting around for someone to leave. Beer on tap, friendly service, good atmosphere inside or out during non-Covid times. Has outdoor tvs to enjoy local games now as well. Good bar for sports.
I went on a crowded Sunday to watch Formula 1. It was standing room only, but you can still squeeze in and order brunch and drinks at the bar. (Just consider wearing a mask, most weren't.) Food tasted good, was priced okay, and the staff are fast and helpful.
The atmosphere was great for a roudy sports bar! They had premiere league on, and the place was packed! Unfortunately i wanted a nice simple burger, but that's my fault. Service was spotty, although the place was kind of full.
I had lots of fun here. Wings are big and delicious, having been fried perfectly. Beer selection is excellent for most American ale and Irish ale tastes. Whisky selection is great, albeit slightly overpriced. Considering the location, prices are generally very reasonable. Bar staff is kind and professional, not gushy or chatty, they're simply too busy taking care of patrons, which they do well. I will come back here often.
Classic spot to watch a game and drink some pitchers. Bartenders are a treat and the wings are awesome. Usually skate Waller then watch the dubs game here it’s a good setup!
First indoor dining experience during/post pandemic, and it was definitely a lot more crowded than expected. Food: The garlic fries were amazing, and they also have an impossibly burger for vegetarians/vegans. Drinks: good selection of beers and hard liquor. Good music. Overall good energy and vibe.
Was in town over the weekend from St. Louis and wanted to try to catch the F1 race and boy was I happy that this place exists. It was fun to watch with other F1 fans and the food was very good. If we are ever back in San Francisco we will definitely be making a return trip.
Loved this place! My group tried a wide variety of menu items and all of them were delicious! One member of our group is an e Philadelphia Eagles fan and we chose the Kezar Pub as they are the local fan pub and the fans did not disappoint during the game. The crowd was loud and the service was great. Will definitely be back!
My first time there, but it seemed like a cool local bar with plenty on tap and on the shelves.
Lovely servers and great football
Great place to watch UFC fights. Food is solid and atmosphere is fun!
This is our favorite neighborhood pub. Come here all the time especially for a game. My man loves their chicken wings and I’m so happy they have the impossible burger for me! The beer selection is great too of course. My favorite is the Death & Taxes dark lager, or the Magner’s cider.
Great place to watch a game, eat high quality bar food, with great service!
Went yesterday to watch the Warriors game and Wrestlemania! Even with the place crowded the servers were great! Lizbeth and the rest of the staff were great as always. Wings, basketball, and wrestling 👍🏽good time!
The pub that is next to the original San Francisco 49ers NFL teams Kezar stadium. True locals sports bar.
Great vibe! I've been the Liverpool fan forever, and should have come to this pub sooner. They do also support local sports team too. The table settings are great. The service was quick and attentive. The servers are quick and have service mind. Definitely a place to hang out to watch sports with friends.
Was staying at the Stanyan Park Hotel next door and wanted fish and chips. Lucked out with this place! Being from Wisconsin, the atmosphere at the Kezar Pub made me feel right at home! Super comfy dive bar feeling where I could sit at the bar and watch football while eating my dinner and enjoying a couple pints of IPA. The bartender was perfect... attentive to my needs, conversational when solicited but left me to enjoy my meal when I wanted. Hard to "wow" me with a fish fry these days (especially with a 1-piece) but the fish and chips were PHENOMENAL! I got mine with the garlic fries and I savored every last bite of it. Filling and delicious. Would defintely return.
This place is notorious for its buffalo wings, so I of course had to order some. Honestly, not the best I’ve had in the city. The sauce was a 9/10, but the wings themselves dried out fast and were just… average. That said, the atmosphere was great and the bartenders were excellent as well.
Oona and Zack are amazing! Your wings are the best in SF!
Kezar Pub is my favorite place to go watch a game and get a cider and a meal. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful even when things get crowded during the big games. Great atmosphere and the food is excellent and reasonably priced. You can't go wrong here! One of SF's best.
Probably the best Sport Bar / Pub in San Francisco ! All games available on request … home of Liverpool fans in SF so always fun on Reds day … i just wish it was a bit more refresh (furnishire & smell)
Kezar Pub, y’all are the best!! Awesome place to watch a game with friends. I’ve been coming to you for 12 years for the best buffalo wings in town by far. However, the other night your wings were tiny (like half the size of your usual wings) - all skin and bones and packaged in a smaller takeaway box. It was super disappointing. Please tell us this is a temporary disruption to your chicken wing supply and you’ll soon be going back to your big meaty incredible wings?? Thank you for being awesome as always. Much respect.
I came here to watch the Liverpool versus Arsenal game and the place was packed. It was almost claustrophobic walking in there. It was definitely a lot of fun watching soccer with hard core fans. It's not easy to find that in the states. When Liverpool scored the place went crazy. Everyone started singing. I also loved that they had Guinness on tap. Just as good as the real thing from Ireland.
Kezar has the best buffalo wings in San Francisco by far. But you can't go wrong with anything on their extensive food menu. Cheap beer, great staff, and the perfect place to go for a drink and wings after a nice walk in Gilden Gate Park. During COVID they have opened a parklet with a surprising amount of seating. There are 4 t.v.s outside to watch your favorite sports.
I love that kids can go here. It’s a fun pub where you can watch sports with your friends, just drink and hang out, or go with your family and eat dinner all in one place. Only problem is it’s a tad loud
We're trekking to The Kezar Pub after sneaking out to Stow Lake and introduced about 4 dozen Peruvian Piranha to its water. Hattie O'Leary brought these monsters back from an extended trip that included stops at the Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu. She was quite excited about the success of her ventures, and said these cold water Piranha will thrive here in this cold lake, and because of their ravenous appetite they should be able to achieve their full potential of between 20 to 28 ounces each once the summer bathing season for homeless starts. Hattie's favorite place in the city is The Kezar Pub and she tells me she's there at least 3 times a week. Today she said we'd share the shepherd's pie, because there's plenty for two ...leaving room for pints Guinness Stout! The Shepherd's pie...☆☆☆☆☆
I need more STARS! Do you want to go get a drink and watch the game with a bunch of locals? Do you want to do this at a place with super friendly servers and the best Brownie Ice Cream sundae?! We were visiting from out of town and just wanted a comfortable fun place to watch Duke play their Sweet Sixteen game. The Kezar Pub was exactly what we were looking for. The Garlic Fries were so yummy and garlicky. And their Impossible Burger was perfect for my vegetarian wife. And did I mention the Brownie Sundae 😍?
I had came here with a close friend to view the city since she was from San Diego she wanted to see the second best city in America lol. As we explored the city we ran into Kezar pub which was really close to the park. Came in here had some beers enjoyed the energetic crowd and of course watched some sports. I’m a huge 49er fan so of course I had to visit this pub. Historic spot and a hell of a place. I’m sure the niners not being in San Francisco isn’t the same as it used to be…
Ordered to go through DoorDash for pickup and I was happy that it was very fast (Tuesday lunch hour) and the fish and chips were different than any other fish and chips I’ve ever had. The batter is very well fried and the fish is so thick and juicy! Hard to find parking nearby but that’s SF for you. Have someone wait in the car as you run in real quick. Pick up area is close to door.
Had amazing fish tacos and a beer. The prices were very reasonable. The bartenders were attentive and you could chat them up a bit. I love talking with bartenders so this was a good plus. Very clean for an older establishment. I walked by the next morning and they actually had pulled all the furniture out to do a deep clean. TVs all had sports in them which I also appreciated.
A favorite of mine to watch a game with a couple friends to a large group. They are always accommodating. Their choice of beer is always good and their food quality is great. Definitely try their wings!
Fun, friendly vibe. It's been a version of the Kezar---- for 75 years (my great aunt & uncle established it) so following owners have done something right! Current manager Marade is delightful!
Perfect place for a first meet up between me and a professor who has become a friend; it was a summit , more than a mere get together, for a long , friendly , wide ranging conversation over the 808 beer and a delicious and generous serving of nachos. I shall come here Cricket matches too! I loved the warm and solicitous service from the friendly server.
In my 35 years of dining and bar experiences, I’ve rarely encountered a bartender as outstanding as Marhade at Kazer in San Francisco. From the moment I arrived, her warm and affable nature made me feel right at home. She was incredibly attentive, always one step ahead, and—most impressively—seemed to know exactly what I wanted to drink before I even said a word. Her recommendations were perfect, turning a simple night out into something truly memorable. Marhade’s charm and professionalism shine through in every interaction, elevating the entire experience at Kazer. The bar itself has a great vibe, but it’s her exceptional service that makes it stand out. She’s clearly passionate about what she does, and it shows. I’m already telling all my friends about this place, and I can’t wait to return on my next trip to San Francisco. If you’re in the area, make sure to stop by Kazer and see Marhade in action—you won’t regret it. Thank you, Marhade, for making my evening unforgettable!
We went there days in a row since we were staying at the hotel two doors down. The many waitstaff we had all provided friendly, good service. . Actually, we woke to singing from the pub on Sunday morning. They were showing the Irish Gaelic Football Championships and the lads were well into it. The place was packed, white an exciting vibe. The other days were more sedate, but this is a sports pub so fans can be expected. . The first day I had the gourmet burger, which was huge. The pub fries were exceptional. The next day we split shepherd pie and Gangnam wings; we liked them both. The third day I had Buffalo wings with the big basket of tots. I'd Jones'd for tots since I first saw them on the menu, and they didn't disappoint. . For drinks, we'd had various beers and many Jameson & Gingers. The last batch of J-Mos seemed to be made with Sprite rather than Ginger Ale, but we certainly stiff enough. . When back in the area, we'll frequent The Kezar Pub again. Good times.
If you’re a Liverpool supporter visiting San Francisco when there’s a game on, go here. Great place for atmosphere and locals that love Liverpool. Staff were great even when it was packed. I spent the day with locals and Liverpool beat United so even better. Great selection of beers as well. They do show lots of other games and sports.
This is the best sports bar in the upper Haight neighborhood. Period. Sports viewing: There are somewhere between 20 and 30 flat screen, high def TVs and they play pretty much any sport you can find on TV. If you're an English soccer fan, you'll love that they open really early for those 6am matches. They regularly show rugby and soccer matches, hockey, baseball and basketball games. Sunday's during the NFL season gets crazy as they show every game on the schedule and fans of every team show up to watch with fellow supporters. Overall, it's a great place to watch your team. Food and drink: They serve great bar food. You probably won't order anything that you can't describe as good. Some highlights are their wings (which are the best in the area in my opinion) and their freshly made potato chips. That along with all your standard bar food will get you through whatever game you're there to see. They have a decent beer selection, but it could be better. It never really changes, so you know what you'll be getting. People: The people that frequent Kezar are generally big sports fans. So, you'll get your courteous and nice people, but you'll also get your loud, obnoxious sports fan as well. It depends on what the main event being played at the time is. It's never really bad though, even with the more obnoxious types during NFL games. Service: I've never had a problem with service here. When they're packed for big events it can be a little slow, but that's to be expected anywhere. Overall they do what they can to get your food and drink to you as fast as possible. They also accommodate you as far as watching your game. If a big event is playing and you want to watch something else, they'll try to find you a TV off in the corner to make you happy. They're very friendly and help out as best they can.
This place is fun. You can get food and alcohol, who could ask for anything more? Great place for groups. They will move tables around depending on the size of your group. When I was there the noise level was very comfortable. There was no trouble hearing the others in the group. You can watch sports on the monitors. There is street parking and across the street is a paid parking lot.
Lovely neighborhood pub and great staff. One of the better draft beer selections in town. We were let down by the food, unfortunately. The wings were OK, but the burger was sorta dry and bland. It was our first time, so maybe we just caught the kitchen on an off night.
Keyzar pub is our go to place. I was a bit disappointed tonight. I got a hamburger and they offer three different sides. I chose the salad. What salad consist only of greens! No carrots, no cucumbers, no tomatoes,… Nothing else but blue cheese dressing in a small plastic container. I know they can do better.
Great place to go to watch a big sports game. It's a pretty big bar, with picnic benches in the back to help squeeze more people in. Beer is served by the pitcher, and they have great bar food. Try the wings, you won't be disappointed. Just beware that if you don't arrive early enough for a big game, you may not get in as it gets super busy.
If you're looking for a sports bar around the Upper Haight, this is your spot. Tons of TVs with every conceivable sporting event, including the early morning European soccer matches if you're into that. They're cool about putting on whatever you ask for too. Also the pub food here is awesome! The wings have been voted best in the city - they're fantastic. Good burgers and sandwiches too. Beer prices and selection are pretty decent as well.
Could do more to entertain but provides a large clean space that generally focuses on sports. Fitness groups meet here after workouts. Not always my favorite group of patrons but the regulars are cool. Food is great but the service could be a bit faster in taking orders. Drinks are made well. Knowledge of flavor is a common trait of bartenders here. Friendly and professional.
The Naked wings were delicious. Loud, festive, music, sports, lots of screens makes a perfect place to have a snack and a drink.
I came here before and SHC vs SI football game and had a drink. It was very busy and lively, and had some very cool memorabilia from the old Kezar stadium, would come again.
Great sports bar. Went to watch F1 race at 7am, and place was filled for race in one room and Premier league in the other. Great atmosphere, ok food.
Liverpool & soccer watch spot! Amazing for the world cup and all leagues. Great food, excellent atmosphere, even has a fireplace! Friendly service, lots of taps. Only demerit is the garlic fries - holy moly they were so bad! Literally just French fries with an absolute pile of very burned minced garlic on top. No butter or herbs or oils or Asiago or cheese or anything! Just burned garlic! It slightly singed my nostrils in the same way really strong horseradish does. Anyway, love the place, will be going back many many times for all future games. Just don't get the garlic fries.
Kind of a love and hate relationship with this place. I go because they are the only one showing the games I want to watch but I never fully enjoy it ... See below Positive They have great tap list. Most of the times the food is good (the fish and chips seems to be a reliable option). And the biggest reason I go there, they have a lot of sports channels and show most European games (⚽ 🏉...) Negative I can't say that the staff is friendly, more like the opposite. They treat their regulars and the rest of us very differently. The food is not always right (don't get the burgers). They sometime ask for a cover just to watch a game, in cash, even if you buy drinks and food, which is pretty shady especially when the place is empty (it was 6 am... European game).
The low rating was mostly to the bad service. It took a long time to order the food and at the end they brought the wrong order and we had to wait again for the food. It seemed like the server was under the influence. Fun place to watch a game and good vibes.
Food we had and service were pretty good. Pricing is average for the area. Good amount of indoor and outdoor seating is available. Outdoor tvs are a little too small and hard to hear during sports events especially with a chatty crowd. My last experience was pretty poor in that I was sitting in the back room and none of the tvs were working for half of the game. That being said I'd give them another shot, but I'd have to be seated in the front.
Went to catch a F1 race The vibe was great, packed sports bar and good crowd too I got the nachos which were really just more cheese than anything else on the plate with absolutely damped nachos but the others liked their food a lot better Expresso martini and mojito on point too didn't have the best experience with food service though.. They were clearly busy but after waiting over half an hour for our food, when we went to check in, we were responded with we're just very busy. Then our food order came out wrong and it took 2 more trips to the cashier to get things sorted.
Subpar food and pricier than it deserves. Debated on 2 stars but settled on 3 since it seems like a good place to watch sports (though I am not a sports fan myself). Got the 10pc Gangnam wings for $19.50- I feel like wings are usually an easy win, but something felt off on these. Like the sauce/seasoning tasted very separate from the overall wing? Not sure what was up, both the meat and overall taste was not great. Also got the cordon bleu balls as an appetizer. I love cordon bleu but these were very meh- the cheese being a liquid was very off putting. Then- drinks. A pitcher of cider was $40?! It seemed about 4 drinks worth, and the writing on the pitcher indicated likewise. You would expect a pitcher to be discounted over individual drinks, and $10 is already on the pricier end of what I see at other SF restaurants for a single pint of cider. The price is not indicated on the menu, by the way. And lastly- a 4% credit card fee is added to the bill. Not fun to see surprise surcharges at end of bill. It’d be much preferred if they just factored this into the regular prices and just gave a 4% discount for cash/debit. Overall: wouldn’t recommend to a friend.
I was pretty disappointed by this place honestly… it’s an average bar with a college feel. When we came in and sat down, there was a fingernail on our table 😬 Drinks were okay and wings were not good. They took way too long (hubs was done with his tacos before they got to us) and were overcooked. Like I have TMJ issues and eating them gave me a headache 😅 But the ranch was good! I feel like it might be made in-house? I can see how this would be a fun place to hang out when it’s busy, but I don’t get the hype 😔
$12 for a Guinness??!? That's WAY more expensive than a tourist pub in WC2!!!!
I’ve gone to Kezar for years but my last few experiences with the manager/owner have put me off. He’s a bitter man and makes the experience unpleasant. O’Briens in the sunset has just as strong an atmosphere and welcoming staff.
Very slow service They are ignore online order not responding properly only told not ready not ready I am waiting 20 minutes plus for only 1 order They are not responding from anyone employee
I go to kezar pub regularly and always had a great experience. Tonight is the Stanley cup final, game 7. They refused to change the soccer game on the tv to hockey even tho the entire front section was there for the final. They said that it was hooked up to tvs in the back showing soccer and some fans were watching the game. Most of the back section was also full of hockey fans and they have tons of tvs they could have changed to. 8 people walked out after they refused to change to hockey, including me and my friend.
Brought a whole sports team in providing them with hundreds in revenue. I waited 1 hour for food (everyone else waited 30-40 mins max), it was served cold. At that point I was starving and wasn’t going to wait for them to redo it, so I ate some of it. I politely asked for a refund ($16) given the circumstances, they refused and told us to just email the owner. Poor customer service.
Kitchen closed at 7:50 on a Sunday. Coke $5. Fees and tax on a $13 check, $2 before tip. $18+ for a beer and a coke. With 7 other people in the whole place. Staff nice. Commiserated. They're not in control.
Been here 20 minutes, no service by anybody. They advertised WWE SUMMERLSAM and yet they don’t even put it on at the time it starts, and 20 minutes into the event we still don’t see it anywhere. It’s like they don’t know how to use streaming apps at all.
Sat down at the bar for 15 minutes. Nobody said a word to me. Ignored like an outsider. Terrible bar. Terrible old bartenders flirted with another old guy the whole time. Never turned around incredible.
This is my first and last time going to this location. I sat down with my partner at a table and we seat ourselves at a high table close the bar. Some time goes by and we keep seeing a female waitress, clean multiple tables that were occupied by customers, instead of taking our order. She finally comes by and we order beers and burgers. My partner ordered the bbq but we had to change the order, immediately after placing it because we saw it had mushrooms and my partner is alergic. The waitress says we can't do that the order was just put in. The order had been inputted maybe 1-2 minutes before we ran to get her attention to get our order fixed. I told her he is alergic and there is mushroom in the bbq sauce. Why would someone eat something that would make them sick? She finally got the order changed and we are still waiting on our beers. I can clearly see our beers on the bar. 5 minutes passes by after that and we continue to see our waitress cleaning tables, again occupied by other people instead of providing customer service. I had to ask her to please bring our drinks over that I could have easily grabbed because it was less than 5 feet away from where we sat. We get our burgers 15-20 minutes later and my burger was still cold and pink in the middle. The fries that came with it were also cold. My partners burger was also not fully cooked and his fried were cold. While we decided to not eat the burgers we still wanted more beer to drink after the one glass we just had. My partner had to walk up to the bar to order more drinks because for a third time our waitress was cleaning up tables. There were plenty of waiters/waitresses. I highly do not recommend this location. Please save your money and drink your beer at a better bar.
The atmosphere and vibes were good for a sports pub. Food and service were abysmal. We ordered the Kezar Burger and Chicken strips. Burger was mid, not great, but not terrible either. The chicken strips were paper-thin and 90% grease and batter. We asked the waitress if we could switch out the chicken strips for something else on the menu that was cheaper and they refused. They also refused to bring another order or provide a refund stating they couldn't do anything because we "already paid for it". $13 for paper-thin chicken full of batter is crazy. It's fine and understandable that the food will not always be great but the service was very poor and disappointing. The atmosphere for a sports bar is nice, but definitely will not be returning and don't recommend (especially if you're hungry and hoping to eat proper food).
Awful experience. Came in to watch Texas Tech game. Sat for 30 minutes trying to flag waitresses down and was flat out ignored. Once we were able to get someone’s attention when we asked for Texas tech game to be turned back on (it was turned off shortly after arriving for a UFC match) I was told she didn’t know how and that I needed to ask a bartender. Bartender was able to help us turn it on - 15 minutes later it was turned off again for the U Miami v Florida state game that was already on 6 other TVs in the back room. Actually insane. The table next to us had similar complaints about lack of service. Friends and I have had several poor experiences here in different forms. None of us will be back in the near future.
