Opinions de Karahi House San Francisco
I love this place! The owner is so kind and I appreciate that they are open late on weeknights which is a rarity in SF. My favorite thing to get here is definitely their Karahi Chicken.
I had the Seekh Kabob, Karahi, and Falooda — everything was absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich and authentic, and the food was served fresh and hot. The Seekh Kabob was perfectly spiced, the Karahi was full of flavor, and the Falooda was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Highly recommend this place — definitely coming back!
Probably one the best 3 Karahi dishes and Pakistani / Indian food I had in USA. This restaurant is so unknown and underrated. Truly, it's a hidden gem 💎💎💎.
Great food, spoke to the owner super nice and down to earth guy. Came from Sacramento and would come out my way to eat here again
Best Halal food in San Francisco area We had dinner last night, and breakfast this morning, food was delicious we love it, and Customer service was great. Special Thanks for Mr.Mehoob Highly recommend
Just visited Karachi House Restaurant while on a trip from Canada, and I have to say — hands down, the best Pakistani food we’ve had during our visit! 🇵🇰🔥 We ordered Chicken Karahi and Chicken Biryani, and both dishes were absolutely incredible — full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and gave us that true desi taste we’ve been missing. We’ve tried a few other spots in Virginia, but nothing came close to the taste and quality here. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Pakistani food — 10/10 experience!
Karahi House serves some of the best Pakistani in Bay Area. The Chicken Karahi is packed with flavor, fresh naan, generous portions, and great service make this place a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Pakistani cuisine!
Their food tastes exactly like you would have in Pakistan specially chicken karahi and chana. I have tried all Pakistani restaurants in the bay area and this is so far the best I have ever had authentic Pakistani flavor.
I was walking by and invited in by its atmosphere. I ordered goat karahi with the naan. Food served pretty fast. Meat was so tender and delicious. Generous portion. They save unlimited free chai tea. Definitely going back .
Their Lunch buffet is worth every dollar! Incredible Pakistani food. The tandoor chicken, keema and chicken korma are so appetizing!
Great service food is amazing best Pakistani Indian restaurant
The food tasted very authentic and delicious! We had goat butter masala, bindhi masala, lamb kebab., chicken karahi, and lamb karahi. The karahi are truly incredible and authentic. We've been here multiple times and this is now our favorite Pakistani restaurant in the city. It's not just the food, but the atmosphere. They treat you like welcomed guests. For example, for Ramadan, we were running late for Iftar, But when we got there, they had dates and appetizers ready for us to break fast. Even my non-Muslim guests were welcome to the appetizers to break fast with us. It's this sort of hospitality that keeps us coming back. And if course the food. Update: We have now come for breakfast too. They do Lahori Breakfast from 10am to 11:30am on weekends. We had the Halwa Puri, Nahari, and a custom item. As a child, I used to eat Chini ka Paratha (2 parathas with sugar in between) for breakfast. I asked if they could do the same and they did!
Highly recommend! My dine in & takeout, both the time the food was very tasty and freshly prepared under the owner supervision. Also the location on Polk street is very convenient, 10 minutes walk from my hotel. Going back soon & will definitely go back. The tea comes free & the owner also gave us desert (Kheer) free of charge which was very tasty. Thank you!
I recently came to this restaurant and tried their chicken tikka masala, rice, and goat biryani. I really enjoyed the CTM with rice and have ordered it a few times. The goat biryani is also good, but a bit spicy for me. I also can't handle spice the way I used to, so I make sure to eat with plain yogurt. I also came close to iftar time and the owner brought me some special items to break my fast for free, which I thought was very kind. I hope to come back and try their other dishes.
Chicken Karahi for two 🧑🍳 Two piece lamb kabob 🔥 Cheese naan 🫓 went crazy! To top it off you get free chai ☕️ at the end of the meal. I hope we’re back in San Francisco soon because I’ll be dreaming about the day I can eat here again.
Good place for dine in and they have buffet at only $20.99. It’s best and cheapest food in the town. You can order Ala carte as well and they have a very good karahi in all options.
This transports you back to the Dhabas of GT Road with crisp tandoori rotis and generous portion of Chicken Karahi. Highly recommend to try it out. The host is warm and gracious and made me feel like back home. And yeah, Don’t miss the complimentary chai.
Felt like I was eating goat karahi at home with naan fresh from the tandoor! Mehmood was very polite and provided great service, the free chai is delicious, and they're open super late Will definitely be back here more often than I should be 😅 don't mind the pictures, thought about leaving a review after downing half of it before it had a chance to cool off!
Really appreciate this restaurant and its lovely owner. I used to come regularly when I lived closer, but even now that I’m further away I still make the drive down sometimes. Highlights for me are: the fresh & addicting Naan, the complimentary Chai, & the freshly made food. Once we even asked the chef if he could make us a specific dish that wasn’t on the menu regularly (Halwa Puri) and he said no problem, come the next morning. Very gracious people and consistent food! Also they have an all you can eat lunch deal on right now 👌
Food was great and tasty. Service was exceptional. Server was very helpful. Got a chair for my niece. Got us room temperature water bottles. Served the food hot.
All around a great spot for halal Indian food! We got the tandoori chicken (you get two pieces and get to decide how many pieces of breast meat and leg meat you want) and goat butter masala, plus some garlic naan. The tandoori chicken was delicately spiced, and quite good. The goat butter masala was rich and decadent, with a slight spice to it. Free chai with the meal was a delight :) Servers were very friendly and attentive, and the food was made fresh to order. We went around 11 pm, so a great spot for a late night bite to eat!
Excellent Indian food! Great service and a great location. Slowly becoming my go to Indian place in SF! Tried the lamb biryani and lamb Karahi. The lamb is tender, juicy and full of flavor.
We give this place a 10 out of 10. The food was absolutely delicious. Restaurant was very clean. Staff was friendly. Got our food in a timely manner. We will definitely be back.
Love the food!! I am from Lahore and moved to SF recently and it reminds me of true Lahori Karahi🤤

Great halal comfort food. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. Close to many SF atteactions. The chapli karahi was awesome

Amazing food especially the lamb BBQ, overall we enjoyed our dinner here.
Excellent food! I live really close to the restaurant and I've probably been there over 30 times now. The owner and staff are really nice. They even made kadhai paneer for us on request and it was yummy!
Very good lunch buffet for $22. Nice selection of meat and veggie. Staff is great. Only complaint or suggestion is to have labels for those who don’t know the dishes. Judging by my experience most customers looked like they knew this type of food but it would still be nice. Also access to a knife only for the chicken would be nice. I want to come back again Not sure if this is normal for buffet but owner who rang us up did not give us option to tip. Just skipped that screen. Thanks guess he felt set price is good enough
Amazing lunch buffet and spicy Indian / Pakistani food. Great for kids and families. I had the best karahi here in SF.
Some of the best Pakistani food I’ve had in SF! Their Karahi is exceptional, probably the closest I’ve tasted to the real thing in Pakistan, and the rest of the food is great too. The staff are super friendly and always accommodating when I bring larger groups, and the chai is great as well. If you want to try authentic Pakistani food in SF, this is the spot.
Everything was delicious. We ordered chana masala, Beef seikh kabab, garlic naan and chicken kabab masala to go. It came with 2 green chutney and one sweet tamarind chutney. Came with some onions, lemons, and bell peppers.
I just tried this place for their lunch special and I know I’m gonna get so fat in the coming months. I filled myself up to the brim with their delicious food. I normally hate okra, but their okra and cauliflower was a game changer. Staff were very attentive and nice and the dining room room is very clean.

I’ll be honest, it was kind of a confusing experience trying to order here, but however we eventually managed to get our food — it was delicious. The place clearly focuses on its turbo take-out economy, with delivery pickup constantly coming in and out of this warm hole-in-the-wall. We ordered at the front and were seated, but only received half of our order; when we went up to pay at the end, they were confused and initially refused payment. We finally managed to pay for the dishes we got before heading out. If I were in a bad mood I probably would have been frustrated, but I actually found it kinda charming. The food doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it is, and I liked that. Lots of spice, and just as much oil. But there’s nothing bland in the great flavors of the chicken biryani and karahi.
Food is good. Chicken karahi is good. Briyani was ok. Overall is very good food. Tea is very good

The place had great reviews however, the food was not that exceptional. We requested a little spicy good but it was just plain boiled with red color on top. The food did not even had a little taste. Not just that but when it was time to pay, the price was more than advertised on their menu. The place was clean and organized.

I went to the buffet today. The signs say the buffet is from 11:30 to 2:30. I got there at around 11:45 and not all the food was available yet. Although I know that the food changes everyday, I was quite disappointed that they didn’t even have chicken tikka masala. The naan wasn’t good either. The total bill plus tax came to around $46.60. For that price I could probably pick 3 of my favorite Diane from any Indian or Pakistani restaurant. I don’t feel like the value was there. I won’t be coming back.
👎 If they would have let me i will gime them -5 stars. Worst Pakistani food Ive ever had tbh. I ordered chicken tikka masala & chicken karahi i cant even describe how bad it was literally no flavours and saag paneer was like half cooked spinach on the of saag. Trust me don’t waste your money by coming here 😡
I’m a regular customer—naan is tiny, curries are colorful but mostly spices with little meat, and service shows no respect for regulars. Please don’t waste your money here
Not Worth It — Poor Quality Buffet I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but this buffet was a letdown. While there was no wait to get in, the food quality was extremely poor. Most of the dishes were either cold, dried out, or tasted like they’d been sitting for hours. The selection was limited compared to other buffets I’ve tried, and even the basics — like rice and salad — were bland or unappetizing. For the price, I expected much better. Definitely not coming back or recommending it.
The behavior and attitude of the owner of this restaurant are extremely bad, and the quality and taste of the food are also poor, I don’t recommend and never come back here.
I dont usually leave reviews, enjoyed the food a lot until I was eating left over saag paneer and got a sharp piece of some kind of ceramic (maybe a bone?) Regardless of what it was unacceptable it made it in there

The food s very tasteless and unhygienic. I had a big stomachache and diarrhea after eating. I mean come on, you can do better than that! Horrible Pakistani restaurant. Dont trust the reviews
