Ordered a 16” pepperoni and mushroom and large salad through Grubhub. Pizza here is a solid thin crust option and is definitely at least a 4 star joint compared to some other NY style pizzas in SF. The crust is chewy and they use the smaller pepperonis that curl and crisp up.

I had a slice of Greek and Pesto pizza. The pesto one was out of this world, the Greek one was also very good. We also had cheese ravioli with marinara sauce. It was quite good! The portions are huge, so we had to take back half the pizza as well as the pasta. The atmosphere is decent, nothing great. You go here for the taste and the value.

Super friendly waitress. I wish I'd gotten her name. We were there on Monday the 19, 2022. She gave great service, the food was very tasty and everything was delivered hot and delicious. Great atmosphere too. I love the old San Francisco black-and-white pictures and the old brick walls. Will definitely go back.

Amazing pizza the best I have had in the city yet.. however not understanding of service animals which is a big no no to me. Not returning again after 8 years of going there. After my dog throwing up I offered to help and they were chill and then said my dog is not allowed in again so I said I would not be coming back again. Shame this business I will not be supporting any longer and they were happy with it they obviously don’t need my money.

I saw a lot people saying. Nice place amazing food. But at the end they ranting 3 stars or less. What people expect ? pizza and a massage for dessert? This is insane. U guys expect a lot from just a pizzeria , grab your seat , order a pizza and done. I don’t have any complain about it they just sell pizza right? For some people 5 stars means free food. This is an pizzaria not a tinder date or 5 star Michelin restaurant. By the way pizza is amazing there.🍕

We were looking for a quick bite for lunch and stumbled onto this place. Pizza was great with the crust being perfectly toasted. Cheese and sauce were also on point. Will definitely be back next time we are in town.

This is one of my favorite pizza joints in San Francisco. True New York style. thin with big crust. The Sauce tastes really good.. if you order a whole pie I recommend you ordering it crispy. And letting it sit for 5 min before you eat it. Depending on the cooks. The other village pizza locations in SF are better than this one IMO. Service is alright. I Feel like this place is always hiring haha.. don't forget the Ranch Dressing! They always are serving slices which is great! I love the pepperoni and fennel sausage mmmm

Have been coming to Village Pizzeria ever since I moved here 2 years ago. Nice decor, with some San Francisco history. Great little counter top bar to eat at along with tables. As for the food the pizza is fantastic. Never disappionts. Thick crust, large individual slices, which are filling and the perfect temp. Plus they are always accomadating with making custom slices while having a great choice of toppings. of Great staff with kind and social personalities. A San Francisco gem.

The sandwiches are very good. I had a Meatball Sandwich and my wife had the Chicken. Excellent taste and good, fresh bread. The service is always friendly. It's a great spot for a bite before a concert at the Regency Ballroom.

Stumbled on this pizza joint as we were waiting for some test result. I have to say that the pizza is surprisingly tasty (only surprising cause we stumbled upon it and didn't expect anything amazing). Service was SUPER friendly and I would definitely eat here again! Support your local pizza spot!

Very cozy and nice environment :) good was good! I asked for coffee at 7pm (needed it) and they prepare a drip just for me! Love the bruschetta ❤️

Be warned, the “personal” pizza is bigger than a dinner plate but it is so good that you want to eat it all. I got the prosciutto pizza and it was delicious, the sun dried tomatoes on it popped with incredible flavor, the crust was super crispy. Overall it was just a wonderful bite of food. I recommend this restaurant!

One of my go to pizza places in SF. Usually get the thin crust style pizza. I think sauce helps make the pizza. I like their sauce.

Legit NY/east coast thin crust neopolitan pizza! Wish I'd found this years ago. I'd get whole pies if I lived anywhere close. They serve Sicilian too, but I haven't tried it. I'll be back whenever I'm in this part of town. They do slices made to order. The list of toppings is large - I got a slice of meatball and green olive. Barstool seating or choose any table to eat at. Seasonings at every table and a take-your-own dispenser with real water glasses. Old school and real.

We ordered pizza delivery from their website. As stated in other reviews, the prices don't match their menu, even the one we received with the pizza. Also the pizzas are either half or whole, but the written menu lists them by inches. We ordered the whole Sicilian crust Village Special. When it arrived the receipt said large pizza...and the price was only $37, instead of the $49 listed online. So...in the end, we paid exactly the price of a 16" pizza from the menu. Enough about money and size confusion. The pizza was delicious. I loved the crust, the vegetables were still a bit crispy and the meats perfectly spiced. Last comment, when delivering to a hotel, include napkins. Update: see second receipt, I did pay the higher price. Still a good pizza, but probably better to go there in person.

The pesto chicken is nice and wet. And served piping hot. Because they don’t leave their slices lying around. They make em. The meat lovers is best as a Sicilian slice. Beautiful soft bread with a crisp base.

One of the best margherita pizzas I've had! The cheese was super fresh, just the right amount of basil and tomatoes, and the crust was delicious. The right amount of crisp and not too doughy. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed the experience at this place Presley start with the pizza. Handmade crafted with the best marinara sauce of tasted reminded me of New York. The ravioli is great and Customer Service even better definitely recommended family, friendly, and perfect for many events or birthday parties.

First time ordering from these guys, and I am impressed. The ingredients all seem to be premium tier, and the crust is absolutely delicious. Price was a little high, but it is definitely higher quality than the regular chains (Domino, Pizza Hut).

Closest thing to NYC pizza I could find and as a bonus I checked in with yelp before I ordered and got a free appetizer, I chose the meatball parm and it was delicious. Customer service was good and the wait time was not bad at all considering the place was packed. If your an NYC oizza snob like me, you can find a good slice here.

M
Mark Kahwaty

Excellent pizza has been enjoyed in the past, but recently I was craving spaghetti and meatballs and was pleasantly surprised. After starting with a Caesar salad of generous proportions, I was served a perfectly prepared and tasty bowl of delicious spaghetti with great meatballs and a fresh, flavorful red sauce. It was an excellent dinner with enough that I took home a portion of both, I did have to wait really long for the check, but it was a great meal I will return for again…

Before walking in, a homeless dude was outside laying down smoking heroin got up and startled me making weird noises. Then laid back down. But, neighborhood is safe. No one else was hanging out. But, this Village Pizza had slices at a reasonable price. A good value. Very tasty

C

Nice little pizza shop with pizza by the slice available and whole pies. Sauce is super tasty and the slices are a decent size. The Sicilian style had a fluffy crispy crust and was super good. If you're near the Regency for a show, stop by and get a slice.

P

Excellent New York Neapolitan pizza. As close as you're gonna get in SF. Which means, very good, but not A16 or Delfina. But hey, the price is about a fifth... only complaint is they tend to be a bit slower than you would expect in NYC. Patience. And you're not going there for the ambience.

This review was a hard one, knowing the math ain't mathing but the food was good. We ordered, online, the small (min) calazone with mushrooms and homemade sausage, the cheese tortellini (without chicken), a caprese salad, and two canned sodas....and the online ordering price is over 15% higher than the menu price. Buyer beware. The food was delivered hot and tasted fresh amd right to our hotel door. The tomatoes in the caprese were horribly cut....ranging in thickness from under 1/2" to 7/8" thick....seriously, thats the only fault I could find in the food. It may not seem like a big deal....and it really wasnt. I would have preferred a balsamic glaze over olive oil, but the sundried tomatoes was a great addition. The calazone was stuffed full of ricotta and mozzarella. Baked golden brown and not doughy at all. The tortellini was tasty in a vibrant cause that reminded me of a fresh alfredo with garlic that was simmered for hours so the garlic wouldnt be overpowering but still delicious. The largest gripe would be the lack of napkins or any sort of cutlery as it was delivered to a hotel at 10pm. I really wanted to give this restaurant lower stars due to the menu v online ordering prices...but I didnt think that would have been a fair representation of the food.

Originally just wanted pizza to go, but they had the warriors game on so had to dine in. The atmosphere feels like you are eating at a spot that has been around for a long time. The walls are filled with historical San Francisco pictures. The service was quick, but it was strange that they gave me another plate and a knife and fork for my pizza. To me pizza is a finger food and you don’t use utensils. Now for the pizza. They use the correct pepperoni the smaller ones that curl up. The cheese game had some pull and tasted like a blend. The sauce and bread were average and did not stand out. The bread also was cooked enough so it would not flop. 👍

Got thick crust meat lovers. It came promptly, which I appreciate. I really enjoyed the taste of the sauce and the toppings were generous. The crust was burnt, however, and the meat was quite dry.

Standard pizza place that serves thick crusted pizza. Very similar to North Beach Pizza. Tasty and heavy. Their décor definitely fared on the Italian diner side; great place for catching up with friends on the down low and without hype. I loved their combo pizza.

The pizza is quite good and I'm a picky pizza fanatic. Thin crispy New York style crust with tasty red sauce. The price is good for a 1 topping slice (under 5 dollars). Minus 2 stars for the owner/manager is not that friendly very short with customers and saw her yelling at her waitress in front of other customers. Also she doesn't give boxes for To go slices, paper bag instead.

I

This was severely disappointing. I had not had pizza in a while. It wasn't worth the 8$. I was charged for a large coke...S2.50 for a can. The pepperoni are small , barely any cheese on this. Guess I'll skip it next time. The only thing I like is the photos of historical SF.

M

They need a caller id and to learn to stop putting the mini white tables, meant to keep the hot cheese from touching the box by evenly dispersing the weight, upside down.the legs are meant to dig into the pizza and the flat part is meant to hold the cardboard up evenly not to be buried under the cheese so by the time it gets to me and I have to pull them out ripping patches of cheese off. (Left to right, how it's supposed to be placed, how they place it,and the effect that was caused because of something so simple and in my opinion obvious.the little tables are not meant to "stamp" the pizza using the box lid. what purpose would that serve.try it ,and try using 4 for a whole sicilian not being stingy only using 2,then this picture on the right wont happen to more customers.

It's hovering around a 3 star pizza. I like how it's loaded on ingredients but my first impression on the "Homemade meatball" is DRY. The meatball was white and tasted like ground chicken breast honestly. The brown sausage was flat, dry, and SALTY. Why did they have to flatten it? The sauce, cheese, vegetables were fine. The dough was soft because it's thin crust but it was a little chewy. The crust was good when it was hot but once it started to get cold, it was tough and chewy. For the price of $33.55 for an 18" X-Large pizza (as of July 2020), I'd say it's alright. Delivery service was also fast. It came 20minutes early. From the reviews, it seems like this place is a hit or miss with both the pizza and delivery. For me, the pizza was eh but the delivery was a hit. So, you can take your chances on this place. I will not come back to this place as I try to complete my quest to find good cheap pizza in SF.

Please allow me to preface this review and the photograph by stating that this in no way meant to slander or disrespect Village Pizzeria at all. I have been an avid supporter of Village Pizzeria since I was a child having grown up right down the street from the Clement Street location. When I lived in Los Angeles, for 8 years I considered their Larchmont location one of three to four options you have in Los Angeles to have decent New York Style Pizza. Not to mention that I also respect that Village has roots in all three of these aforementioned Cities and represent that. Hardly anyone outside of here represents San Francisco in the Pizza World. And the reason for that is that San Francisco is hardly even a REAL PIZZA CITY like there are all over the East Coast. I understand that. And it seems Village Pizzeria understands that too. Village Pizzeria is one of the few places that keeps San Francisco and Los Angeles somewhat proper. They can't do it alone. Back in the day, they kind of did though. San Francisco had almost no credibility as a Pizza City outside of Tony's for the longest time besides Village. I stand by this. These disheveled slices still were very good and made me feel like I do not need to plan an emergency trip to New York. However, the honest truth is without the help of Empire Pizza I still would need to do so. But until then, Village kept me going when I had no one except Joe's peripherally in a West Coast World, with an East Coast level of passion for pizza as a consumer. An East Coast level of passion as a patron and supporter of the men and women who have given their lives to Serve Pizza as many of the greatest minds of humanity always have. This is more a criticism of Door Dash and Village Pizzeria needs to know how Door Dash is making them look. Just know if this happened to me, it could happen to anyone. And if Door Dash is reading this, consider figuring something out on the Driver's End so that they have what they need to properly deliver pizza as significant as Village. Please. So that I do not have to give them a 3 star rating when it's more so their relationship with Door Dash that is causing a 3 star rating to a place I want to give 5. I refuse to believe any Village Pizzeria in the Village Pizzeria chain could stir me wrong like this, not even the Van Ness location. You might ask why I did not provide an additional photograph of the slices unfolded and straightened out. Trust me. It was not a pretty sight when relieved of the strange UFC/ WWE submission hold the Door Dash driver decided to put on these poor innocent and defenseless New York Style slices. These slices, while tapped out, still were better than a lot to most of the slice places in the City. Thank you and may you continue to succeed and thrive, Village Pizzeria!

This was my first trying this place and atmosphere is really nice and relaxing. Vilma was nice and friendly but I will come back to where she majorly dropped the ball and got 1 star for service. I tried the thick and thin slices of pizza and the thin definitely wins. The thin veggie slice is really good and flavorful. The thick slice isn’t that great to me. It’s like they use this hard thick store bought bread and add toppings to it and mines was hard and burned on the bottom so I only ate the toppings which was just ok it was the carnivore slice. My lady had the thick ham and pineapple slice which was cooked better than mine and less burnt than mine but she didn’t finish it and had about 3/4 of it left. So here is where the issue was, Vilma came to take the plates and leftover food from table and was gonna box up the remaining slice. On her way she dropped some silverware and napkins from plates she was carrying and we was actually watching her because of the noise it made when it fell. The food didn’t fall just napkins and silverware. Vilma picked up the dirt napkins and silverware off the floor and YES she put that nasty stuff right back on the plate with the pizza slice she was about to box up for us. She didn’t think we saw it but we did so she went on and boxed it up and brought it to us with the check. I told her I saw what happened and that should have been her opportunity to do the right thing and make a new slice but NOPE she tried to justify the the stuff she just picked up off the floor didn’t touch food!! That’s where she really messed up at. We told her we don’t want it and to throw that away and we paid and left. This is really a case of when they don’t think you are watching and they do nasty stuff and when they get caught are too embarrassed to do the right thing. This review should definitely be an eye opener for all. The photo is where she picked up the dirty napkin and silverware from and put back on plate. Shame on you VILMA!!

We asked whether we can have a pizza half/half.. just one half having slightly different toppings. They told us no problem but failed to inform us that they charge a 12$!!!!!!!!!! Fee for this! + The menu said dried tomatoes but they put regular tomatoes on it? the pizza was not very good and absolutely overpriced for what you get.

Ordered a slice of Pizza. Order was for spicy chicken tinga. The cashier mentioned they didn't have it. Changed it to Italian Supreme or something like that. The pizza that came out was for some random chicken pizza. It was dripping wet, no taste and overall poorly quality.

These guys completely ruined a very happy day when we ordered the food from here. The food never arrived after waiting over an hour. We called and were told that the order will be cancelled since they felt we showed them attitude by asking about our order. The staff is rude, but the owner Mervin takes the cake. I really feel sorry for them that they don't realize that in today's day and age they can not afford to screw over the customers. Read other reviews about how others also feel their service is bad. I wish i had read them sooner. Absolutely horrible place to order from.

Horrible service! I mean if you like to have bad service with an attitude then you found it. They will give you a soda that they have already poured, who knows how long it's been there. Also come here for lunch and order the same thing. Sara who sees me weekly and takes my order not ever changing will still get it wrong and ask me if I want the pizza they made. I ask for the slice I wanted instead of trying to please a customer she gets mad. I only have 30 minutes for lunch. Guess be taking my self to another pizza joint.
