Oh my this place deserved 10 star rating! What mind-blowing desserts!! This time we tried the salted egg and thai tea lava cakes. Both equally good and a style of lava cake I've never had before! The banoffee croffle was super tasty too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place :D Super amazing ferrero crepe - tastewise, texturewise and portion size wise. I'll say the same for the iced ovaltine. Highly recommend this place! Ferrero crepe never disappoints. This time got the Thai tea ice cream. The Hokkaido milk crepe is also nice but not as good as the other things we tried here.
If you love sweet desserts, this will be your paradise. To me, i think they can reduce the sugar a little bit. Overall is still 5 star and very savory! We ordered mango sticky rice crepe and Naya toast. The stretchy hot crepe wrapping the warm sticky rice and icy icecream scoops. They are very considerate to give you minced mango along with the half mango aside. The toast itself can simply feed two people.
The mango sticky rice dessert is phenomenal. The coconut shaved ice has such a good texture, the rice tasted amazing, the mango was ripe, just delicious. The kaya toasted was good, but not on the same level as the mango sticky rice imo. Vietnamese coffee is pretty strong, thai tea too sweet to eat with dessert.
Great Asian fusion dessert place in Hayes Valley that closes late at 11 pm. Great for groups who still want to hang out after dinner over instagrammable worthy desserts. It was packed when we arrived around 10 pm on a saturday, but we didn't have to wait too long. As soon as you step inside, the smell of sweet sugar wafts through the air. Our group ordered the bingsu - which is just milk shaved ice with whatever toppings. We had large Mango Tango, large Ovaltine Volcano and a small Melon Snow. Mango Tango and Melon Snow was my favorite. The Melon Snow is very melon-y and tastes very much like real fruit. The milk shaved ice was really good, very light and fluffy. I've never had something like that before. Large bingsu cost $17, which is pretty pricey. The small cup cost $9. I think the cup is perfect for 1-2 depending on how hungry you are. They also started selling curry outside of their desserts. So if you're looking for food, this is the place. Would love to come back and taste the other desserts as well.
Wow, this place is fantastic! Ordered the Kaya Toasted and Salted Egg Custard Toasted, both great tasting! Steamed Bread with Pandan dipping sauce, strawberry Bingsoo and Thai Tea Latte were all delicious! Will definitely be back here again when I visit the area! Highly recommend a stop.
Wow, these desserts were incredible. Not too sweet, not too heavy, and exceptionally moreish. Cute interior and friendly staff. Been obsessed about the Salted Egg Custard Toast every since. We ate: Mango Tango ($16.99) - mango was super sweet and juicy. Sticky rice was perfect consistency. Shaved ice was just the right sweetness and so light. Salted Egg Custard Toast ($16.99) - the best this we ate. Custard was delicious and the toast was airy and a little crunchy.
We got mango tango with extra mango per person. Highly recommend getting a mango piece per person. The serving size was enough for 3 people. The ice cream on the side is not very sweet (I loved that it was mildly sweet).
absolutely must-return dessert cafe! It exceeded my expectations. The portions are huge, and the service is very efficient. I thought we would have to wait a long time, but the staff were incredibly friendly and we were seated very quickly. We ordered three desserts, and every single one was delicious. I loved it! I will definitely come back. This place offers a wide variety of dishes, include curry rice plate, and I think you can definitely have a full meal here. I really love this place.
Really good place! I loved the food. I had the best chocolate toast ever. Also the staff is really nice. Would definitely visit again. The only thing that was a little annoying was that they cook directly in front of the tables where you sit, and the air at that place gets hot and smells like the toast. No big deal though I am just nitpicking. There are other seating options available as well. Will try those next time.
I am a Bingsu lover. I tried this place for the 1st time and just couldn't find any faults. I used to go to U:Dessert but now NaYa is going to be my go to place. We had the Mango Tango and the Black Thai Tea Crepe. Service was faster than a bullet train with one girl managing the service. Both the dishes were delicious. Not very sweet, perfect taste and quality.
If you are looking for a cute cafe with excellent service, supreme food, and great atmosphere, you found it! Na ya dessert cafe is lovely. The Mango Tango dessert was scrumptious and the Mille crepe was so satisfying and soft. Both paired perfectly with a Thai tea which had just enough sweetness. Our waitress was also kind and patient. I can not wait to come back with more of my friends and family :)
This shop is such a gem for dessert. I tried the mango Thai sticky rice and it was absolutely amazing, perfectly ripe mango paired with creamy, fragrant rice. Simple yet so flavorful, it really hit the spot. If you’re craving something refreshing and a little unique, this is a must-try.
You know it’s a good experience if all your friends independently rave about the dish a few days later. That was our experience specifically with the Kaya toast! Immense flavors with great texture provided by the toasted bread plus milky ice cream. Undeniably good! I also had a katsu curry which had a great kick. Overall would recommend to come check them out!
The strawberry mini bingsu tastes great. The strawberry compote on top is just the right amount of tart sweetness to match the super soft milk shaved ice. I wish it was in a wider bowl tho as the cup was hard to eat out of.
Very cute Thai dessert place in Hayes! We got the salted egg toast and it tasted amazing! They turned on the heat for us!! The waiters were nice and the environment is cozy :) very Instagram worthy spot.
I just stopped by this desert place because it was a 10 minute walk away from my place and I loved this place. The desert I had here was so very good. The prices are very good and the staff were very friendly and the overall ambiance of this place was amazing. I highly recommended this place. I give them 5 stars ⭐️!
Thai tea toast is so yummy, Thai tea ice cream is amazing! The service was super quick and friendly too! Unfortunately I was too full to try anything else on the menu 🤤Can't wait to come back with friends and try more of their yummy treats!
Atmospheric enlightening setting. I mean, how can't you not feel that with good dessert? This is a classic Asian dessert shop and geared toward Thai style. The Mango Sticky Rice crepe is the bomb. Can't wait to come back. Keep it up

I loved my visit to Na Ya Dessert Cafe in San Francisco! This cozy dessert spot serves up an amazing variety of Thai-inspired sweets, from rich bingsu and crepes to mango sticky rice and toasted treats- all with vibrant, satisfying flavors. Locals and visitors alike rave about the fresh fruit, creative combinations, and generous portions, making it a fun place to share with friends or enjoy on your own. With a laid-back atmosphere and a menu full of Instagram-worthy desserts, it’s one of the city’s go-to spots for late-night treats and sweet cravings. I can’t wait to go back and try even more from their delicious selection!
The food was sooo good, and the combination of flavours was perfect. It’s a cute little dessert restaurant that is great for photos. Only con: our server was slow, and we waited forever to order and to get the check. The whole time we were there, at most, there were only three other couples in the shop. I tried to get her attention, but she was laughing with a co-worker or on the phone.
a very cute thai dessert cafe in hayes valley that serves toast cakes, bingsu/snow, crepes, crepe cakes, drinks, and even food. friendly service (feels like a dine-in experience as the waiter takes your order). cozy interior. we really wanted to try the kaya toasted cake, but after dinner were feeling full so opted for a lighter bingsu (snow) to split. many other customers were splitting desserts, though there were some solo diners who were studying/working with laptops. // melon snow (large) $16.99 // naya serves their snow as "deconstructed" with the snow, melon balls, and melon flavored syrup. the large is a lot smaller than i thought it was, but it's enough if you just want a sweet treat after dinner. the snow itself is milk flavored, very sweet from the condensed milk. i did like the milk flavor though as some places just taste like ice; the snow is also on the denser side. there is also vanilla ice cream on top. the melon balls were ripe and sweet. the melon-flavored syrup is artificially flavored (it tastes like melona) and very sweet, so i'd recommend tasting and drizzling at first (not pouring the whole portion on top). overall, i did like the melon snow as it is not a flavor combination i have tried before. only critique is i wish it was a little bigger for the price and less sweet.
We have been going to the other Na Ya location before and thought to trying out this location, since we are around Hayes. Service is slow, cute plant decor and vax cards are checked before you enter. Sweet is about right but really commend the dessert combos. The charcoal crepe was filled with Thai ice cream inside that had melted by the time we got it. Thai tea chocolava cake is really good
Fast! There was a waiting list, but they seemed to move swiftly. I think it took less than 5 minutes to get a table, and this place has hoppin'. If you need late night treats, this is a wonderful go-to. The yuzu soda was so fresh, too! We got the lychee tea, which wasn't my favorite, but I think it was because I'd rather eat the lychee than drink the flavor. Prices are on the upper side of things, but it's worth it for a special dessert date stop!
Cute little dessert place in the heart of Hayes Valley. I had a catch up with my friend there on Tuesday in a lunchtime and we were almost alone so could pick any place we like. Service was fast and we both liked what we got. The Thai tea crepe cake was delicate in flavor and very creamy with additional Thai tea sauce and bob on the side and chocolate lava cake with Thai tea was also great - a little sweeter but well balanced with strawberries and ice cream. I’d say that prices are a bit on a higher side here but the presentation and experience worth it.
The portions are huge so come with friends or an empty stomach. The shave ice is super soft and yummy. The mango isn’t in season it was just okay. The sticky rice would be better warm. Beautiful IG worthy presentation. The Thai tea black crepe isn’t overly sweet. Good balance between all the ingredients and the Oreo gave the dish a good crunch. It was a bit warm inside but the decor was cute :) I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a new dessert place to try.
Honestly, super unique and cute desserts from different parts of Asia. It's definitely unique and something I haven't tried before which is saying something because I have traveled a lot and make a point to try new foods. The dessert was very beautifully presented, the flavors while being unique, were very good. The only reason I put 4 stars is because it is very expensive in my opinion for what you get. I got a small little lava cake with Thai Tea Sauce and a small scoop of Thai Tea ice cream and strawberries, the whole dessert was maybe the size of my palm and cost $17.37. In my opinion this was worth more like $8 or $9. So while it was good and very pretty, I just think it's too pricey, and all the deserts were like that. $15.99 was like one of the least expensive desserts on the menu. That's what I ordered. Then after tax it was $17. So if I had ordered one of the other desserts that was $19.99 then it would have been like $23 after tax and I just personally think that's way too much for a smiple dessert. They also serve like dinner options so I would think their pricing for dessert vs. dinner would be different but it's not. Anyway overall cute place and good service. There was a fruit fly that kept annoying me. But the place does look and smell clean and the food was good and unique. It was fun to try new things and theres still a lot more I want to try here so I'll probably be back.
Naya is one of my favorite desert places in SF for Asian deserts. My favorites are the kaya toast and the mango sticky rice crepe. The service is good and food comes out fast. Hot food like takoyaki and katsu Kare is also nice but not spectacular. Pictured in my review is the kaya toast and the Thai tea chocolate lava cake.
We got the mango bingsu and the crepe cake, both of which were great. While the bingsu itself was phenomenal, there wasn't enough enough mango/mango puree. Additionally, we swung by Na Ya for a small dessert after dinner elsewhere, but the mandatory >$7 per person meant we had to spend more than we would have liked. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere overall.
Cozy spot with delicious Thai-inspired desserts! The mango sticky rice shaved ice and a few others my kids and I had. A bit pricey, but the friendly service and unique treats make it worth a visit.
This is a cute little cafe, but that also means that it is busy and usually has a wait. We were thankfully seated within 5-ish minutes of joining the wait-list and could sit inside, but there were people eating shaved ice outside in the cold! This review is only for the dessert but you can also order actual food. The servers could be more involved because after taking our order, we didn't see the server until trying to flag him down several times to pay the check. We ordered the salted egg custard croffle and the melon snow bingsu. Both portions were pretty big so please be prepared for that. Between the two, the melon snow bingsu was an absolute hit. It was creamy shaved ice with melon pieces and syrup and it was delicious. We couldn't stop eating it. Even after it melted a little, we enjoyed the whole thing as a milkshake of sorts. This is a must have. The salted egg custard croffle was not as great. First, the croffle was quite hard and not as easy to break off. Second, the egg custard tasted more yolk-ey than we would have liked. The ice cream and strawberries with it were a nice touch, and honestly, we enjoyed those more than the croffle or the egg custard. Pricing is medium range, but I guess we expect that for San Francisco. Come here for the shaved ice. You will not be disappointed!

milk tea shaved ice and takoyaki was delicious 😋 wish the portions were a little larger and it was very hot inside
Naya Dessert Cafe in San Francisco, despite being packed on a Saturday night, managed to seat us quickly, which was a definite plus. However, the desserts themselves left something to be desired. We opted for the Salted Egg Custard Toasted and the Thai Tea Bingsu. The Thai Tea Bingsu was a letdown. Served in a cup and overloaded with crystal boba, it felt more like a novelty item than a well-crafted dessert. The boba overwhelmed the Thai tea flavor, which, while present, wasn't particularly remarkable. Eating it out of a cup also proved to be less than ideal. The Salted Egg Custard Toasted was decent, with the vanilla ice cream being a highlight. However, there was a noticeable chalky texture that detracted from the overall experience. While the flavors were there, the texture was off-putting. Adding to the less-than-stellar experience was the incredibly loud and obnoxious group seated next to us. They made it nearly impossible to have a conversation and really took away from any potential enjoyment of the meal. Overall, Naya Dessert Cafe was just "decent." While the service was quick and the seating prompt, the desserts themselves didn't quite live up to expectations, and the atmosphere was less than ideal.

Have previously been to NaYa multiple times times. But on this occasion, came after dinner, so pretty full and came late night just for dessert. The place was fairly empty given it was late on a weekday. When we placed the order, the server was insistent that it was very low dollar amount and pressuring us to order more. We explained that we were just looking for a small amount for dessert, so did not need more, and if they could accomodate. Well it seems like they would rather loose all customers on a slow night, and leave a bad feeling, than serving us the quantity that was ordered and was right for us. So we left.
My family and I received the most terrible service. The place was completely empty except for one other small group. My family walked in, ordered, and sat at a small table. I joined them later and sat at an adjacent table since the first one was too small for all of us. A server approached rudely, asked if we were together, and demanded we move to a larger table because we were “taking up two small ones.” After we moved, she grabbed the check, added an 18% gratuity automatically, and claimed that anyone sitting at the table is charged service—like a buffet(really? in a dessert shop)—even though I hadn’t ordered anything and was just waiting. When I said I wasn’t eating and would wait in my car instead, she became even more pissed, accusing us of being rude for not “waiting upfront” when we entered the empty shop. The situation escalated with her, I suggested canceling the order and leaving due to her awful attitude. She got angry, yelled that the food was already being prepared, threatened to call the police if we didn’t pay, and followed us outside while on the phone with 911, taking photos of us and claiming she was scared to 911 like we were chasing her. We hadn’t received any food or consumed anything yet—just a check . Just to de-escalate, my dad had me go back in pay , and take the order to go. The server was extremely unprofessional throughout and should never be working in hospitality. For future reference, customers in California generally have the right to cancel a restaurant order and leave without paying if no food has been served or consumed. You can see from the photos I took—while walking back inside to pay and de-escalate—that the server was chasing us outside and yelling at us.
1. The milk tea Bingsu was disappointing — it was basically just a bowl of milk tea with ice cream, all melted and watery. 2. The portion was very small, even though we ordered the “large.” Definitely overpriced for what it was. 3. On top of that, there were quite a few small insects flying around, which made the experience uncomfortable.
