The food was fantastic with service to match. Our server Jose anticipated all of our needs and was fun and engaging. The atmosphere was chill and laid back, and the prices were reasonable (especially for Fisherman's Wharf). Highly recommend.

Wonderful food, terrific and friendly service and gorgeous historic dining room and bar. We had beer and cocktails, chowder and shrimp and it hit the spot at 4pm after a day spent wandering the waterfront. Great happy hour prices too. We had the best waiter ever and really enjoyed our meal in a comfy booth by the fireplace. Has to be amongst the best spots to eat at the Wharf. 100/100 and thoroughly recommended.

Very Cool Old Saloon. So Happy To See it Open Again! My only request would be to lower the lights at the bar. So Very bright. Super Great Bartender. He honestly made me The Perfect Cocktail. A little expensive but I will be back.

Good location , food was average in freshness. We had the seafood boil, prawns , oysters, Fish and chips and San Francisco Cioppino. Service was average. The Asian waitress, probably Korean, was always sitting at the bar with her phone. You have to physically go to her to ask for sauce or cutlery or the bill , she was pleasant but just had her back facing the guest , glued to her phone. Oysters were not sale but not fresh. Prawns from the boil were not boiled seemed more stirred fried. Sauce was lacking, very basic, almost no garlic minimal herb, spices were bare minimal. No texture, just watery. Fish and chips were the only acceptable dish. Fish was crispy on the outside and yummy and soft on the inside. Fries were delicious. Overall an average homecooked, new experimental cooking. You might cook a better meal at home. Will definitely NOT be back .

Had clam chowder. Nice flavor, just missing one thing. Clams! Haha. I was patiently waiting and I got two pieces at the very end. Dude! Figured I’d try 1 more dish because maybe it was a one off. Nope. Butterfly shrimp was terrible as well. Bartender was great and very attentive. If I ever go back it would be strictly for the happy hour alcohol. Never eating here again. Haha

Warning - 20% tip is automatically added to every bill as a service fee but they don’t tell you! This was our first time at Nick‘s Lighthouse. We went in and there at 6pm on a Saturday night and there was only two people in the restaurant other than the two people at the bar. We were told we could sit anywhere which we did. We asked a few questions about the menu then placed our order. Not long afterwards my husbands dinner came out but not mine. I waited and waited and it finally came out when my husband was half done with his. Server asked if we would like a few extra napkins but that’s it. We got the bill and right before my husband was going to pay it I looked and saw service charge on there. They automatically added a 20% tip to the bill. When the server came back with the slip my husband asked him if the tip was already added and he said yes, so my husband asked him if it was anywhere on the menu and he said yes. We didn’t see on the menu that it was an automatic 20% tip for any size party. We weren’t looking for it but we looked over that menu for a long time. If we had seen that we would’ve left. If they have no problem doing it then they should post it where you can see it and/or have the servers tell the customers. A tip is earned and the server wasn’t worth 20% but they automatically put it on there. The server then doesn’t have to do their job well because they’re already getting a tip so they don’t have to do anything extra, they don’t have to work for it. They don’t tell anybody and then at the bottom of the slip there’s a spot where it says tip for you to add additional so if you don’t notice that it says service fee on there you’re going to tip him your 15, 18, 20 or 25% whatever you tip on top of the service fee, which is already added. I will never go back there.

This is the new location at 445 Jefferson. I live in the neighborhood and used to be a regular at Jack’s, the previous bar that occupied this space, before it sadly closed down after the owner passed away. So when I saw a new spot had opened in its place, I was hopeful it would bring back that much-needed bar and restaurant vibe for locals and tourists alike. My wife and I stopped in one afternoon for a couple of beers before picking up some crab across the street at Alioto’s. The service was decent, and the drinks were fine — just a couple beers and maybe a whiskey. We enjoyed the visit overall, but the music was blaring at a volume that made conversation nearly impossible. On top of that, it was 1950s music, which didn’t really match the feel of the place. Fast forward to my second visit: I was working on my house and decided to take a break and grab a cheeseburger and a beer. The bartender was friendly and somewhat engaging. He took my order, poured my beer, and went over to take care of the only other table with customers. Unfortunately, the food was a letdown. The burger bun was stale and hard, and the two frozen beef patties were overcooked and dry. Oddly enough, there was even a faint seafood taste to it, which didn’t help. I gave up after a few bites. On the bright side, the fries were actually really good — crispy and flavorful. Overall, if a place can’t get a basic cheeseburger right, it’s hard to see it lasting long in a neighborhood like this. And for some reason, they don’t even have Guinness on tap, which is pretty surprising around here. One more thing: the whole "4% discount for cash" policy is just a confusing way to say there's a 4% charge for using a credit card. I even saw a couple walk in, read the “cash only” signs behind the bar, and leave. It’s off-putting. Honestly, it’d be better if they just streamlined the payment policy altogether. I’ll probably give it another shot in a few weeks to see if things improve — hoping they find their footing.

2/16/26 first I’d like to start off by saying I never write reviews NEVER. My boyfriend, our child, and I recently visited Nick’s Lighthouse. The restaurant itself is in a nice location and has the potential to be a great dining experience. Honestly, the overall experience probably would have been much better if the staff had been more attentive, seemed to care more, and if the manager had handled the situation professionally instead of being rude and dismissive. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated, but after sitting down we waited about 5–10 minutes before our server returned. When he did, he didn’t ask if we wanted drinks or welcome us—he simply asked if we were ready to order. He was also standing far away from the table, making it difficult to hear him and for him to hear us. The interaction felt rushed and inattentive. Because of the service, we decided to switch from dining in to ordering our food to go. We both ordered the deep fried platter (about $38 each) and a side of shrimp fried rice. The server didn’t write anything down when taking our order. After placing it, he eventually offered us water, but when he brought it out, he didn’t provide straws and immediately walked away before we could ask for anything. Every time he approached the table, he would drop something off and quickly leave, not giving us an opportunity to request sauces or ask questions. At one point we even thought we saw something floating in the water, so we didn’t drink it. When the food was ready, he once again dropped it off and walked away. We had to get up to ask for additional sauces because we wanted ranch in addition to the tartar and cocktail sauce already provided. We walked about 20–30 minutes back home with the food. Once we opened the containers, we realized both platters were missing the scallops that were clearly listed as part of the dish. Instead, there appeared to be extra squid or some other substitute we did not order. The food was also slightly soggy, and the fries were not fresh all of our food was practically flavorless. Our total came out to $105, so to receive incomplete and underwhelming meals at that price point was extremely disappointing. The next morning, I called as soon as they opened. The same server answered and remembered us. He said he would speak with the manager and call me back within an hour, or I could come in. He never called back, so I went to the restaurant. He had previously told me there was no manager available, but when I arrived, a woman came out and identified herself as the manager. The only options offered were either one shrimp fried rice or one shrimp and chips—both around $20—despite the fact that we paid $105 for two platters that were incomplete. When I asked if we could receive something closer in value or a partial refund, I was told no. I was also told I could either take one $20 item or “get nothing at all.” The manager was rude, spoke over me, cut me off repeatedly, put her hand in my face, and used dismissive gestures. At one point, when another couple (of a different race) walked in, she stopped addressing my concern and immediately shifted her attention to them, leaving me standing there without resolution. The difference in treatment was noticeable and extremely upsetting. Overall, this experience was frustrating, disappointing, and disrespectful. This restaurant has the potential to be a nice place to dine, but service, accuracy, food quality, and professionalism matter. I truly hope ownership takes this feedback seriously and works on improving both customer service and accountability, because no customer spending $105 should leave feeling this way. Sadly, I will not be returning. Update ..Just to be clear I was never offered any scallops I was talked over and treated with no respect and even then that’s not compensating what I paid for
