We randomly came in to have a steak dinner it was nice to watch the sunset and the food was very good. The service was very nice too. We will come back to try different dishes.
Best view ever ! Food aree great view are superb Most recommend!!
I’ve been coming here for 25 years or more. The food has always been very good. Today we stopped at lunchtime really just to get off our feet and have a little something to eat. We both ordered the New England Clam Chowder and it was outstanding! Really, really good. We sat at the bar, enjoyed the great view, a glass of wine and the chowder. No wonder I keep coming back. You won’t be disappointed.
Katie and the entire crew of servers and cooks were wonderful in making our annual family Christmas dinner a memorable evening. We’ve chosen to come here for the last 15 years, and it never disappoints. The service, food, and ambience is superb.
I found the food to be very good, fresh, and a good sized portion. I must say that the star of the show was our waiter by the name of Greg. He was an older gentleman and he was so incredibly nice, professional, and very very attentive. Me and my wife celebrated our anniversary last night and it was such a pleasure having Greg wait on our table…This man deserves a raise….My wife and daughter both ordered the salmon which they state was cooked to perfection and my angus ribeye was very flavorful and cooked the way I liked it…. Calamari appetizer was ample and delicious….. The only thing that would have made it a perfect experience is if the restaurant was 5-6 degrees warmer. It was quite cold inside and my wife had to put her jacket back on. Although my wife was there for the the first time yesterday Ive been there a total of 3 times and its always been cold inside…
This review is for their happy hour menu that you can enjoy in the bar area. Don't quote me, but I think it's weekdays from 3-6PM. The menu has about a dozen yummy items for about $10-14 (in 2025). We had the calamari, fish tacos, and a hamburger, and we were stuffed. These are tiny small plates, the portions are quite generous. Everything was really delicious too, nothing fancy, but everything came out quickly and really hit the spot after work. The drinks are reasonably priced too. It's really one of the best deals near Fisherman's Wharf and elsewhere in SF. The service was really friendly and attentive too. I work nearby and have been coming here for happy hour over the years, it's such a comfortable and affordable place to kickback and relax.
Update: Had lunch here today during Fleet Week and used my $25 certificate for being a Landry’s member. The Lobster and crab dip is not bad but I wouldn’t order it again. It’s great for two people, not one. They should add more crostini for the amount of dip they give you. Happy hour starts at 4p. The staff are courteous & great and report they love their jobs. As a veteran I love coming here to honor the holiday. It’s one of my favorite places in the city. Tip: if you order the Lobster dip during happy hour you pay half price for it. I was also told that they are expecting the menu to update soon so take the opportunity to taste this menu now. 8/11/25 update: New happy hour menu and the fritto misto is good but the marinara sauce is seriously lacking. Also had the Singapore Jumbo Prawns and it’s just mid, won’t order again.
I've come here with my family many times. Food is solid, nothing amazing, but everything is good. Service is usually attentive and professional, but depends on your server. Great view and ambience. Highly recommended for people visiting San Francisco and wanting to enjoy some good seafood by the bay.
We had a wonderful experience celebrating a special dinner at the Dolphin Room at McCormick & Kuleto’s in San Francisco on April 25, 2025. The view was absolutely incredible! The room was nice and clean. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was very good. Unfortunately, we do not remember the names of the staff members who helped us that evening, April 25, but we are grateful for their excellent service and warm hospitality. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a special occasion with great service, food, and unforgettable views.
Amazing dining experience. Steaks were perfect. Views of the bay were amazing. I loved the calamari because it was hot and crispy. Service was fast and friendly. Love to go back. No fountain drinks, but they had sparkling water and clean bathrooms. I got it with Dungeness crab on top and it really was worth it. It had a lot of crab.
Came here for our birthday dinner. Delicious food and excellent service! We got the calamari and filet. The lobster tail so massive and so delicious!! Our waitress also presented a piece of cheesecake with candle for our birthday! All around great service and food! Must try if you’re in the area and looking for an upscale restaurant!
McCormick & Kuleto’s is a classic San Francisco seafood and steakhouse located right on the waterfront, offering stunning views of the bay. The restaurant delivers a solid dining experience, with a diverse menu that features fresh seafood like clam chowder, crab, and shrimp, alongside perfectly cooked steaks and other hearty options. The ambiance is upscale yet comfortable, with large windows that allow diners to enjoy breathtaking views of the water and the Golden Gate Bridge. The service is generally attentive, and the staff is knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful recommendations. While it’s not the most innovative dining spot, McCormick & Kuleto’s provides consistently good food in a beautiful location. It’s a great choice for anyone looking for classic seafood and steak dishes with a view, especially for special occasions or a casual dinner out.

This is one tasty cheeseburger! It’s a smash burger with garlic aioli. Good fries as well. It is expensive but on par with almost everything else in California.

Gorgeous views, decent food. TL:DR The beautiful views are the best reason to visit this establishment. Definitely not an economical meal - and honestly the food was not as good as the price would indicate. Still worth a visit, but perhaps not more than one. Details: We ended up here on a weeknight during a work conference. The hostess was pleasant and accommodating, and even without reservations we were able to get a table for six with a window view. Our server was pleasant, but the service was very slow the entire night. My friend waited more than 10 minutes for a drink refill twice, and when we asked about splitting the checks, we were told it would be another 20 minutes if we wanted it that way. The food was good, but I couldn't classify any of it as unforgettable. I do recommend the salmon steak, and one of our table said the prawns were very good. Overall, it was worth the visit for the view alone, but if you are looking to spend $40-$50 a person, I would lean towards another establishment.
I should’ve done some research before coming here so I give them the benefit of the doubt. My group ended the day at Ghirardelli square after walking around the city for hours and we were all craving clam chowder in a bread bowl. We were too tired to walk anywhere else so we decided to just try it here, despite it being more expensive than the ones at the pier. We weren’t dressed very formally but we weren’t dressed poorly either but it still felt like somewhere we weren’t supposed to be. We were really disappointed when they told us the bread bowls were only for lunch time, along with a few other items that were only displayed on the menu outside. We knew it was a mistake to only come here for soup because of the slight pressure we felt to order more from our server, I understand why but, it made us a bit uncomfortable after we already declined. They were still very friendly and not rude at all, we could just tell it felt like we were wasting their time and seemed disappointed. The soup was still delicious, the clams were perfectly cooked. We ended up trying some oysters that were also great, they came with a flavored ice which was really unique. The room was nice and cozy with a decent view but this isn’t the spot I would recommend to just anybody. Also the music did not fit the fancy atmosphere at all.
McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood & Steaks, located in Ghirardelli Square, offers a great Happy Hour in the Fisherman’s Wharf area. The restaurant has stunning views of San Francisco Bay, making it a wonderful dining place. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a well-designed bar where you can relax. The friendly bartenders enhance the experience. Happy Hour is from Monday to Friday, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and it is perfect for winding down after work. The Happy Hour menu features tasty options like the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl, which is full of fresh flavors, and Kuleto’s Cheeseburger, which is always juicy and satisfying. You should also try the Calamari "Fritto Misto" or the rich Black Truffle Fries as great snacks with your drinks. If you look at the regular menu, don’t miss the Anchor Steam Fish & Chips. It’s well-made and goes well with many drinks, making it a good choice for seafood lovers. When my friends and I visit, we start with a round of draft beer, usually enjoying the refreshing Fort Point KSA Kolsch Style Ale. We always order a big plate of crispy fries that are hard to resist. Depending on the night, we might stick with the Happy Hour menu or switch to the regular menu for a bigger meal. The beautiful views of the San Francisco Bay always impress us, and someone in our group usually comments on how lovely it is. In short, McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood & Steaks is not just a restaurant; it’s a place where you can enjoy delicious food and excellent service, all while taking in the fantastic views of one of the most beautiful cities. Whether you want a casual drink after work or a memorable meal, put this place on your list!
Celiacs beware: yummy but gut wrenching food. I could not get a straight story from the waitress or the chef. Illness was Swift and furious. Be very careful and insist that they separate, especially that they don't cook anything in the fryer. They seem A couple steps above clueless. It's a pity because the food was tasty. The service was okay. Maybe not as informed as it could have been but, friendly and helpful and good-natured. The views are spectacular and a cloudy Sunset always makes for views that look like something painted by a Dutch Master. Restroom had no toilet paper or paper towels and I had to leave a 90 something-year-old standing waiting while I ran to the bartender who couldn't care less and deflected me to the front desk which was down a level. I had to call down to her and ask her to please come up. The hostess was very kind and came running to try and find some paper products. At a place with these prices that should never be. They need to be more on top of their game. They were warm and friendly and welcoming, which we really appreciate it. But if you're going to invite someone over, you need to have the place ready. People with allergies need to be extremely careful. To pay all that money and to lose the meal right after is a complete waste. It is sad. They need to do a better job with kitchen staff. Education from the top down. Servers need far far better info about the allergy and that even when Foods just touch a person can get ill. Other five star restaurants, even four stars that are careful we have no problem with. It's just a matter of them being more aware and intentional. Parking was easy underneath.. this is a very difficult place for the elderly as it's multi-level and set on a steep hill. The nice solution is parking in the lot and taking the elevator to the front door of the restaurant. They do have a handicap half elevator inside the restaurant to make up for the distance between levels. It was a fun experience and very tasty. We wish the wait staff had been more honest about how big heavy and filling the desserts were because we ended up wishing we had split. So if you've had a full meal, just split something. The restaurant has two really nice private rooms which are great for board meetings, family anniversaries and birthdays, etc. The one on the lower level is brighter and cheerier with a view. Except for getting so ill on the food. I was wishing for a big family party to fill that beautiful room.
Overall, I would say we had a pretty nice time. Our server just seemed less than thrilled to help us and was not that helpful on recommendations. Three out of the four dishes we ordered were very good. The view is spectacular, definitely worth going, maybe go for an appetizer or late dessert if you want to save a little money and see the view…

While the food here was delicious and usually is. The service is not what it was. Our server was wonderful, she did everything right. Of the 4 high-end restaurants we visited this trip, McCormick’s was the only one who refused to acknowledge we had checked in ahead of our reservation and were sitting in their bar. We had to go back to the hostess station to “get checked in” again. And they were not very busy. Empty tables in abundance. We won’t be back again with so many other options available in San Francisco.
I would not recommend this place to be honest. As excited as I was to try it, despite the prior reviews, I was extremely disappointed in the service. We came here for my sisters birthday dinner in a party of 6, and it took us 35 minutes to have a waiter come greet us at our table and another 45 minutes to receive our drinks and get our appetizer order in. The food looked great but didn’t taste like anything special. The view is gorgeous, that’s one thing I will give them.

I booked this place a month in advance, for our anniversary. My husband and I came in about 10 minutes early. When we arrived, the hosts ignored us. I was hoping they’d ask if we had a reservation but they never did. They did help other customers as soon as they came in. I finally let them know we had our reservation soon. The whole host experience made my husband want to leave. I’m not sure what is was about us they made them want to ignore us, but it did really put a damper on the whole anniversary dinner. When we were seated, our service became much better from the servers. Our food was good. Nothing too remarkable. and the views were exceptional. You really come here for the views and the atmosphere.
