First time trying out Nepali food and it did not disappoint. All the dishes are 10 out 10! Delicious and tasty! My favorite the salmon kachilla and the ceviche. I fell in love with the carrot pudding dessert. Warm, sweet and cinnamon flavor. The specialty cocktails are amazing! The restart is very welcoming and cozy. I definitely recommend Piroo to everyone.
Love this new Nepalese restaurant in SF! First of all, I love that painting on their wall that shows their Nepalese x SF fusion. We got the Chicken and Salmon Choila Rice and it was so good! We also got $5 draft beers and fun soju cocktails. To end it off, we got some specialty summer cocktails that the owner made and ate a delicious carrot pudding dessert. Fun Fact: they have $2 oysters during Happy Hour!! You gotta check it out.
The food is good, and the hospitality even better. We came for a quick dinner, just a few dishes, but ended up meeting the lovely owner, had a really nice conversation with him, got a desert on the house and left with a nice memory. It was our first time in a Nepali restaurant, and if we lived in the city, we would definitely become frequent visitors.
This little place has my whole heart 💜 we went on a little adventure at russian hill and ended our night here tehee i lowkey forgot what we ordered but the yellow rice is so good please try 🙏 we were chatting about different stuff and hanging out too 🤣 the price is also afforadble go support family owned business teheee
We've been so excited for more Nepali food in SF, and Piroo did not disappoint! We started with a couple cocktails, both of which were tasty. I especially liked the as yet unnamed passion fruit mint cocktail, which was sweet, but the Pirootini was a fun and unique cocktail with a spicy flavor. We ordered most of the recommended foods: the Chatpate, the Panipuri, Beet It salad, and the Chicken Choila Wraps. Everything was very flavorful and most of them had a bit of spice, but that spice really builds! The beet salad was a nice way to cool off some of your taste buds in between spicy bites. We loved the textures of the Chatpate, which is so crunchy from both the ramen bits and the fresh veggies. The Panipuri were fun to experience as well, they're a crispy fried shell filled with spiced potatoes, served with a tamarind sauce that you pour into the shells before eating as a whole bite. Lastly the "carrot pudding" - we were already full, but I saw it on Instagram and had to try it. It was really good, just sweet enough and went very nicely with the cinnamon on top - yum! We hadn't tried any of these Nepali dishes before, so thank you for sharing them with us!
A great mix of tangy, sweet, fresh, and most importantly spicy (piroo) food. We tried Salmon Kachilla, PaniPuri, ChatPate, Ceviche, and Chicken Choila Bowl. They have a great selection of draft beers as well. Everything tasted great. The highlight of the menu has to be the fresh oysters.
Great service, delicious food. We had the pork Momos, Samosa Chaat, and some puffed rice appetizers - everything was so good!!
Came in before a concert hoping for something delicious and quick, wasn't disappointed. We ordered the pork momo (delicious and juicy), the Padpi Chaat (a new experience of creamy, slightly sweet, and well seasoned), and the tacos. We'd probably skip the tacos if we came back, but 10/10 would order the other two items again.
What a treat! The chatpate was a great appetizer - all the flavors and all the textures. I could eat it every day 😋 And the veggie momos weren't with your run of the mill veggie fillings - they contained many different veggies chopped into small pieces (not a lump or a patty). I can't wait to go back and try more! And the service was lovely - very attentive and personable 🤗
Strong flavors and fresh tasting. We arrived at 4pm on a Wednesday and there was no one else there until we left at 5pm. The waitress was friendly and gave us good recommendations.
New fave Nepalis dining experience in SF. I came here for a team night out & ended up leaving with smiles cheek to cheek because of how cozy the restaurant feels & how beautifully warm & delicious the food is presented. 10 out of 10, highly recommend. Order list: 🍠 Beet Salad (10 out of 10) 😋 Nepalis (must try!!) 🍜 ChatePate (10 out of 10)
Cozy Nepalese restaurant. I had the pork Momo dumplings which were tasty and freshly made. Before ordering she asked how spicy I wanted them. They came with a nice dipping sauce. I also tried the Chatpate which was too salty for me. When I go back I'd want to try the Chollo Rice Bowl and Papdi Chat. Service was friendly with frequent refilling of my water.
I tried steamed Momo dumplings dipped in sauce. Was totally worth it, strong flavors. Recommend if you like to try food with strong flavors. They can adjust the level of spice for you as u like. It is not overcrowded too, you will get good service.
Pretty good restaurant. I’d say best nepalese food I’ve had. The bowls are the least enjoyable dishes, they feel like healthy sf food shops. The saussage was reaaaallly good. Momos were good.
Piro serves some authentic nepali food in San Francisco! We tried their Khaja set, and chicken momo. Khaja set was delectable, momo were juicy and well stuffed. Momo is hand rolled, unlike many other places that served machine made.

Great Nepalese Tapas place. Very polite waiter and service was top notch. They prepared everything fresh, we had Pani Puri, Jhol Momos and Chatpate (Chinese bhel style). Spice level was perfectly customized to our taste. Their tea is awesome. I highly recommend this place.
This place had kinda cool ambience. It’s a tiny place with some table upstairs where we chose to get our spot. We started with chatpate which was preety good but had some very strong flavor. I was expecting a good quantity for that much of amount. Moving forward to momo Steam chicken momo wasn’t good enough to impress us. I could taste the smell of the meat as something was missing in the keema they had but pork one was obviously very good. That momo sauce accompanied very well with both those momos. Chicken Choila bowl came with rice ,Choila , mix green and cucumber salad. Choila was tasty and those chicken thigh meat were tender and good. But this fusion wasn’t my type I wished I didn’t mix everything at once as salad dressing sweetness and rice was a bit weird for me. Overall the experience was good and thumbs up for the owner who came with this idea of fusion food.

Himalayan tapas? Interesting menu, comfortable surroundings and decor, but very slow service when I visited on a Sunday afternoon. The food is reasonably good, however I am not familiar with this cuisine, so maybe not the best judge of this. The samosa chaat I tried was ok, but not so much to my taste. Worth further exploration of the menu however.
My girlfriend and I were staying Court yard mariott and were looking for a late night dinner. We found this small place on the corner of Polk and Post which was open until 1130pm. It's a very lively area, a good place to start or finish your night with some fun eats. The restaurant is Nepalese. We never had Nepalese food before, I would describe it in some ways similar to some Indian flavors. The menu, according to the owner is in transition. With some of the older dishes being removed or reworked. We tried the momo dumplings, chatpate which is a spicy, crunchy, mixture of noodles, cilantro, onions, and tomatoes. It's refreshing. We had the flat bread which in our head we thought would be like Naan bread but it was more like a pizza with cheese. It was good but we just ordered wrong. Finally we had the goat curry with white rice which was the best dish. That dish was excellent. The staff and service was excellent. We had a good conversation with the manager and the server made my girlfriend a great cocktail. The manager promised us some good menu changes when we come back. We love to support local, so good luck. $$

In our search for a delicious restaurant, we found what we were looking for here. At least that's what we thought. We ordered takki rice + tofu and chicken from the large platters. The service was friendly. Unfortunately, there was no more tofu in stock, so I only got mushrooms. I was also asked whether I wanted the food spicy or medium spicy. I ordered spicy. Unfortunately, the meals didn't come together. My food was brought first, about 15 minutes and when I was ready, my friend's food arrived. Too bad, as we actually wanted to eat together. A little tip: when people come together, they want to eat together. To make matters worse, my food wasn't spicy, it was sweet, and my salad didn't look fresh. Unfortunately, it wasn't a positive visit for me, so I wouldn't recommend it.
