Wonderful service! We had a table of 6 and all had our few within 10 minutes of placing our orders. The server was lovely and graciously offered to take a photo of us as we were out for my birthday. Great food! The pizza was delicious and the crust was so crisp and buttery. The brussel sprouts were great as well; all the flavor paired nicely together. The atmosphere was nice and cozy as well.

Very good food in an amazing location. We didn't have a reservation, so the host told us that the only place available was outside. The temperature was cold, but under the gazebo the temperature was almost perfect and warm. The waitress was so kind and recommended us food and drinks. You can easily find vegetarian food. We also had pizza, so delicious! I definitely recommend it!

I recently had dinner at Starbelly and was blown away by the flavors. The wood-fired pizza was perfectly crispy, and the cocktails were amazing. The vibe is cozy but vibrant, making it ideal for both intimate dinners and group outings. Highly recommend this place!

Good atmosphere, has a pretty cool patio in the back but it gets pretty loud at brunch. Got the fish tacos which were a little too fried & dry. Loco moco was saucy but patty a little tough again. The salad was not too fresh. Fries were good - love the 3 aiolis. Croque madame was juicy - a little greasy but stacked well. Love the wide cocktail menu. Will prob be back for the pizza and drinks in the future. It's good for solo dining at high top tables or bar seats inside. Ideal for small groups with fresh oven baked pizza to share. Pretty hard to park around the neighborhood.

Very decent eats. Contemporary space, soft lighting, amiable staff and a tasty cuisine makes Starbelly a strong option for dinner out in Castro. Solid menu selection offers a nice range of choices. From pizza, to pasta and a little bit of everything in between, your palate will be satisfied. Curated drink menu is contrived with depth of flavor in mind, so choose wisely.

We had the Vinho Verde Bicudo which was excellent, a really flavorful carrot ginger soup, a burrata pizza, roasted chicken, and the Ensalada Primavera. Everything we ate was truly delicious. The pizza arrived a bit late, but they kindly took it off the bill as a gesture — which we appreciated. We stumbled upon this place by chance, not knowing it’s featured in the Michelin Guide, so that was a lovely surprise. Overall, it was a very good experience with great food and a nice atmosphere.

If you’re looking for an amazing brunch spot, Starbelly is it! I ordered the Challah French toast, cornbread with jalapeño jam, and deviled eggs, and every bite was mouth-watering. The French toast was perfectly fluffy and rich, the cornbread was warm and buttery with just the right kick from the jalapeño jam, and the deviled eggs were packed with bold, delicious flavor. To round it all out, I sipped on their top-notch sangria and a delicious cup of coffee, both of which hit the spot. The balance of flavors, quality ingredients, and cozy atmosphere made for an unforgettable meal. If you're looking for a fantastic brunch spot with incredible food and drinks, Starbelly should be at the top of your list. I can’t wait to go back!

So it's been a while since I've been to Starbelly, 5 years to be exact. Not much has changed from what I recall. The interior looks and feels the same. It has a communal feeling, the noise levels are still up there, so a great place for energy but not so much for a romantic dinner where you can easily talk to your partner. The menu is pretty much unchanged, a good selection of appetizers and some mains. We settled for two appetizers, liver pate and Starbelly salad and a main of Italian sausage pizza. The liver pate is a home run mainly because the bread is simply delicious. The salad is nice but honestly also nothing you will remember. It's just there it tastes alright but it's not outstanding nor will it call your name as you eat it. The main course, the white pie I'm a bit disappointed with. First the oven should run at a higher temperature to make the dough just a bit more crunchy. Not a bad pie but neither great. The sad part for me was that the Italian sausage was bland kind boring and rather dry. Maybe their red pies offer more flavor. Overall an all right experience but it will take some time before I go back. Maybe another 5 years

After two lousy experiences here and a five year break, we gave it another try. Overall- it was a great experience! Food was solid with plenty of great options on the brunch menu. Decent wine list. A lovely server, who was charming despite being spread really thin. The hostess was borderline hostile- not a great first impression.

Sarbelly was just OK for us. Da Wahini and I were in the area and decide to pay a visit to Starbelly based on the reviews and the fact we had Starbelly bookmarked for a while. Good size venue with a small amount of outdoor seating in the front and additional outside seating in the back covered by a large tent. The inside is more of a bar. Parking...good luck with that. Located next to a popular neighborhood, only street parking is available. The menu here is seasonal, so it changes on a regular basis. I forgot the name of our server, but nice guy. The service was very good. The staff were on top of everything. #StarbellyGrindz: COCKTAILS: ~ SALTY DOG - 4/5 Strong and solid cocktail. All the flavors worked well. I could taste the Elderflower and Grapefruit ~ BEARS, BEARS, BEARS! - 3.5/5 Our server said this was the best drink on the menu, I can't say I agree with that statement. To each their own. Brilliant presentation, possibly just not a fond flavor profile of mine... even though I'm a big Earl Grey fan. This just didn't work for me PLATES: ~ rigatoni - 3.5/5 I thought the rigatoni was OK, slightly better than average, but nothing to rave about. I had a hard time identifying the protein as Lamb. Portion was on the smaller size, not all that filling. ~ ground chuck beef burger - 3.5/5 w/ starbelly salad - 4.5/5 While the Burger was decent, it wasn't all that special. Nothing stood out about it and it was tiny! almost like a bigger slider... The salad was very good. Once is enough for me. I don't need to return; I wasn't a fan of the portion sizes and didn't think the food was outstanding.

Warning: Do NOT schedule a reservation less than TWO hours before closing. They WILL run out of their GOOD menu items and will only tell you once you’ve had your appetizers, making it impossible to get out. Went last Saturday at 9, for SF Restaurant week. The plan was to have their 3 course dinner with Bavette Steak, a prime attraction (see menu attached). After placing the order and AFTER having the appetizer, we were informed the kitchen had run out of the steak!! Reluctantly, we both chose the Tuna instead. Minutes later, we were told that they had ONE Tuna left, so I HAD to take the Pork chop. The server did offer an extra dish on the house, but there literally isn’t anything else we wanted - just went with some Crab dumplings (very small, do not recommend) to get on with it. The pork chop was not something I’d ever have again. The ONLY good thing about it all was the appetizer (in hindsight should have had it as the extra dish) - the chicken liver pate was exquisite! It’s VERY poor form to inform the guests AFTER serving them the appetizer that you’ve run out of the entree!

Brunch chilaquiles are middling and uninspired. A lukewarm plate of average to below average taste, quality, and presentation. Lacks any creativity beyond what a hung over late 20-something would create 10 minutes after waking up. Stale looking, half way cold, and late. They didn't microwave it long enough. Why? It's clearly been sitting in the kitchen for hours in a storage container. Bleh. I would have sent it back had I any confidence it would come back better, but it's clear that it wouldn't have. Starbelly, do better.
