Opinions de The Coffee Berry San Francisco
Dropped in here on my way to Alcatraz and very glad I did. The flat white was excellent and accompanied with the bacon egg brioche my breakfast was complete. Lovely team who picked up my kiwi/aussie accent and were keen for my feedback on the flat white! Sadly I only had one morning is SF otherwise would have been back for my morning fix.
I always believe that to test the quality of a coffeeshop, it should be based on their espresso. No frills, sugar, milk, if you can make this taste good, then you know what you’re doing. And I am happy to say that The Coffee Berry does that. Serving sight glass coffee beans, located on the iconic Lombard street this is a great place to get coffee, chill inside by the window or the outside seating and watch time pass by. Really loved the calm vibe, and the espresso. It was smooth, not burnt at all, strong and great tasting notes. Can’t say enough good things, this place is solid and and I get why they have a perfect score.
The best coffee place one can only dream of! The drip coffee from homemade blend is just perfect! There is also a lot of options for pastry and all kinds of other coffees and teas. The staff is super friendly and nice. Laptop-friendly place with wi-fi access:)
I stopped at Coffee Berry SF on my way to visit the Doubtfire house, and I’m so glad I did. It’s a small coffee shop with a big-city vibe—cozy, stylish, and full of personality. I ordered a lavender latte, and it was incredible. Perfect balance of flavor without being overly sweet. The service was just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. A great stop, great coffee, great energy. I’d absolutely come back.
I was told the seasonal specialty drink for Feb was the strawberry mocha and it did not disappoint! It was very much like drinking a chocolate strawberry. My friend and I tried several pastries and my favorites in order were the everything bagel croissant (has cream cheese inside), the financier, and the ginger pull apart. All superstars however and it doesn’t seem like you can go wrong with their selection. Limited seating inside but I noticed there were well placed outlets beside each table. Everyone was super nice and I’ll certainly be back!!
A gem of a ☕️ coffee shop. Prices seem about right for the area. Fast/friendly service. They have a water bowl for dogs and free dog treats. The owner one day greeted a customer's dog and got a "hi 5've" from the animal. A lot of dog owners stop in with their pets. It's the little things that sets a business apart from the others. Also the clientele is very diverse which is refreshing. Try the place and enjoy San Francisco up close and personal.
Service was outstanding! Friendly and accommodating 100%, which makes all the difference. The hot Matcha Latte was incredible and the ginger scone was an item you should travel for hands down. Plenty of seating available, even for a small place. Access is quick so you can get back on your way. Ditch the big chains and head to the Coffee Berry for a delightful experience.
Busy with the local people. The concept is supporting producers and farmers and being sustainable. Staffs were very friendly and the way they whisk the matcha for the latte is impressive( they uses even Japanese Macha whisker!) the pastries were also wonderful. I love the Swedish cardamom bun
Very good coffee! We came here based on Google and can confirm it's a 5* rating. It's not the cheapest by a long stretch but you pay for quality. With more than 1 barista, service was prompt. A small location but super friendly with a selection of baked goods. No issues at all with custom coffee orders and family friendly. A clean bathroom available for customers too.
Stayed close by during our visit to SF from the UK, and wherever I go, I always need to have a good local coffee place. Seeing this was 5-star rated on Google, I had to give it a go, hoping it wouldn't let me down. I think the fact that I went here almost every morning tells you everything. Friendly staff, more than happy to fill up our own travel mugs, and simply the best coffee we had during our 2 week stay in California. Forget Peet's, this is the one!
Visited twice near their open time of 7 am. It’s on a street that is fairly quiet that time of day on Sundays and Mondays. Busier on Monday, of course. I had a cortado and an espresso both days, and they were both phenomenal each time. Very nice serving cups for onsite drinks. Nice baristas, they were different on my visits, but the quality was the same with the drinks they crafted for me. The pastries look great, but I did not try them.
I just get that why many people give 5 stars for this! I ordered a strawberry matcha and it was really nice. Not artificially sweet and thick taste of matcha. Cafe was really clean and the staffs were kind 😊
Nestled amidst the hustle and bustle of Lombard Street in San Francisco, lies a hidden gem of a coffee shop. As you step into this modern haven, you are instantly greeted by the invigorating aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the promise of a delightful experience ahead. Join me as I take you on a journey through this coffee lover’s paradise! Atmosphere: The moment I walked in, I was struck by the refreshing and contemporary ambiance of the café. The clever use of greenery details brought a touch of nature indoors, creating a serene escape from the urban chaos outside. The minimalist design exuded a sense of elegance, allowing the focus to remain on the true star of the show - the coffee. Coffee Selection: Their cappuccino is a true work of art. Served in stylish ceramic cups, the frothy perfection of the foam and the rich flavor of the espresso blend harmoniously, creating a delightful and balanced taste. Each sip was a delight to the senses, leaving me craving for more. Food Options: While the focus here is undoubtedly on their coffee, the café also offers a small selection of delectable treats. I tried their croissant, which was flaky, buttery, and paired perfectly with my cappuccino. Though the food menu is not extensive, it complements the coffee choices brilliantly. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, providing recommendations based on my preferences. Their passion for coffee was evident, and it added a personal touch to the overall experience.
I am delighted to share my experience with this exceptional coffee shop. The latte was incredibly delicious, showcasing the barista's skills in crafting the perfect beverage. The chocolate croissant was also a delightful treat, with a flaky crust and a rich, chocolatey filling. I wholeheartedly recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for a satisfying and enjoyable experience. The overall atmosphere was inviting and contributed to a pleasant visit.
Great coffee shop. Service is fast too. Excellent flat whites and espresso with a variety of milk options and pastries for sale.
Having breakfast at The Coffee Berry simply made my day during my short stay in San Francisco, so much that I wish I could've stayed longer! One of the best cappuccinos and definitely best buns I've had lately, I especially recommend the cardamom bun. Thank you guys for being so kind and cheerful, and see you next year! :)
I fly to San Francisco on March 4th and from the reviews, I can't wait to try this coffee shop out. I already mapped it on my Google maps for when I arrive.
Great small coffee shop with extensive but gimmick-free drinks & yum! selection of pastries. Today it got busy after 730a but everyone seemed to take it in stride. Coming back tomorrow!
Ordered a latte with a toasted almond croissant (recommended by one of the owners). The latte was well balanced and croissant was DIVINE, buttery, flaky, scrumptious with slight sweetness from the almond paste (?) topping and filling. I was not disappointed and will be back for more!
Got myself an almond croissant and a cup of matcha latte, both tasted nice! The croissant was crunchy and rich in almond flavour, matcha latte was made with oat milk, did not taste too sweet, everything was just right! Enjoyed them at the outdoor area of the shop, great vibes;)
Cute, clean, and bright coffee shop with owners who really care. I went today and both owners were working. They have a large pastry selection, with traditional “fika” Swedish buns from Thursday to Sundays. They’re phenomenal, I’ve only tried the cinnamon fika bun but I’ll be trying the others as well. I believe they use Sightglass coffee, both the flat white and dirty chai I got tasted great. The chai wasn’t too sweet. This spot is also great because lots of dogs are regulars here! So you always get fluffy friends inside. It also seems like there’s tons of regulars, as I often hear the owners saying “So, the usual ___ (insert name of customer)?” I may become one of those regulars even though I live in Outer Richmond, I like this place so much! Added bonus: really clean bathrooms, lots of windows for bright environment, kind, prompt service, owners who genuinely care about their establishment. Only con (although not a terrible one) very limited seating! Maybe only for 8-10 people. But they do well considering the size. All in all, 5 stars and possibly my new favorite coffee spot at the moment!
My favorite coffee spot near Van Ness and Lombard. Always excellent espresso and the best ham/cheese croissant on the planet. Great family friendly service every morning. Really enjoy this place.
I love this spot! It’s a cozy little space, but perfect for grabbing a coffee and pastry on the go. The folks working here are always so chipper and friendly; the pastry selection is phenomenal. The ube croissant is unique and delicious. Their cappuccinos are always perfectly crafted.
Da bomb!! OMG - Go and get thee a large drip coffee and a savory pull-apart. Incredibly inexpensive, delish to the max and wonderful staff. I will return just for the coffee and pull apart and I live 150 miles away. The chocolate croissants are very good too. What a hidden lil gem!
Great coffee and amazing service! The espresso was delicious, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed my visit and highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be back again ☕️
Very cute lil spot. I can't speak on the beverages, my goal was the pastries ($6.50) 🤭 but they use Sight Glass beans, so I'm sure the coffee is fantastic. I did takeaway, the seating spots are minimal, most patrons were sitting outside. I've been wanting to try the Ube croissant so I could compare it to Neighborhood Bakehouse. I am pleasantly surprised, the Ube is a winner. TCB gets the pastries fresh baked daily from Sunday Bakery. I'm pretty sure its the bakery that used to be located in Oakland, but the menu states the Bakery is in Sausalito (which makes more sense considering TCB's location 🤷🏼♀️) I wouldn't say their UBE croissant is comparable to Neighborhood Bakehouse, but it is very good. Not overly sweet and a good amount of filling. I also sampled the almond croissant. Its a solid tasty option as well. Next visit I'll definitely try a savory treat.
My wife and I have been coming here with our boy Jaxx since they opened so this review is long overdue. The coffee, the team, the hospitality is all off the charts. We always buy our beans from them and they always give our pup treats. We love you guys and will always be regulars! Sincerely, Jaxx’s Parents
I’ve been stopping by The Coffee Berry SF while staying nearby in SF, and it’s quickly become my go-to. The coffee is excellent—rich, smooth, and consistently well made. The pastries and food options are just as good, fresh and not overly sweet. The staff are friendly and efficient, which makes the place feel welcoming without being over the top. It’s also dog-friendly, which is a big plus if you’re out for a walk with your pup. I like that it feels like a neighborhood spot rather than a touristy one. After seeing it has hundreds of reviews with a perfect rating, I wasn’t sure what to expect—but the quality really does live up to it.
I will honestly take another trip to San Francisco JUST so I can make it back to The Coffee Berry. The employees were kind and calm, even with a steady line all morning long. Their smiles were sincere and that makes a big difference from a guest perspective. The FIKA buns were so so delicious. Thank you Coffee Berry for such a warm and lovely experience!
Worthy of all the 5 stars. It is a small coffee shop right at the bottom of Lombard street. We really enjoyed our Nutella latte and lavender latte. The ube croissant was our favorite. The savory pull apart was ok. They have indoor seating for like 8 and a couple small tables outside.
If you are in SF and looking for a great place for a cup of coffee and a baked treat (sweet or savory), make sure to try the Coffee Berry. The workers (owners?) will immediately make you feel welcome and valued. The drinks and food are delicious and dogs are welcome. You’ll find a lot of locals with their pups. It’s always a good sign when the locals are going! My daughter and I were staying at the hotel across the street and we found them on the first morning. On the second day when I visited without my daughter they asked if she was sleeping in, which she was. I was impressed they remembered and asked about her. Just a wonderful small business to check out if you are visiting or a local!
Very fast service and the staff work really well. They have a great variety of coffees and teas. I got the White Peony tea, which was so good very silky and smooth and the pistachio latte was also really good. The place is clean, bright, and cozy. They have two tables outside and a bar table inside with about three chairs.
We had the savoury pull-apart bread and the twice-baked ube croissant and both were incredible. The pull-apart bread was moist throughout and super flavourful. The ube croissant was crispy, with creamy filling, and an amazing sweet crust. Coffees are also great, but the pastries are the true reason for coming! Also, they have a few nice tables outside, lovely for sunny days.
I love Coffee Berry as an addition to my neighborhood. I’m lucky enough to live right around the corner so it’s always there for a quick stop. The staff are always nice and greet you with a smile. They have a lot of pastry options and the espresso and coffee are always on point. My personal go to recently has been the Espresso Tonic but you can’t really go wrong. Also dog friendly!
A small and cozy coffee shop with limited seating but a warm atmosphere. The staff is friendly and the toilet is impressively clean.
Cute little coffee shop. A great place to grab a small bite while doing some work. And yes, they do have WiFi! The workers are extremely nice. They offered to help me add more sweetener in my drink when they saw me getting up to do it myself. I personally came here for the lavender matcha latte after seeing someone post it. The lavender flavor is mild which isn’t a bad thing. I love how they hand whisk their matcha. Yes it is a tiny bit grainy but at least we know it’s real!
This is a small coffee shop with counter seating and a couple of tables inside and outside. It's a destination for the pastries, offering unique bakery items like ube croissants and ginger pull-apart bread alongside traditional morning fare. The coffee is also pretty good. Service is friendly and thoughtful. Oh, and they have free dog treats.

Sitting here at Coffee Berry in San Francisco and just had to share how great this place is. The service is absolutely perfect – so attentive and friendly. And the pastries are top-notch! A truly excellent experience.
The best coffee around and even better owners / staff! Always good energy and the coffee is so quality. They’re also super kind with my pup. My favorite order is the iced americano or the macchiato. Their pastries are delicious and so fresh. Even the matcha is good quality. They have fun seasonal specialty drinks too.
Their Feb special, the iced chocolate strawberry mocha is divine. I can’t stop coming here to get it and will be devastated when it is gone. By far some of the best coffee I have had in the city, and the lovely baristas always brighten my day. A must try!!!

The coffee was really good quality and the barista made my coffee just the way I like it. Perfect foam on the top. Not much seating inside, there's tables outside. There is one bathroom though so that's nice. Lot's of pastries but none that are dairy free. They did have a counter with napkins, straws, cinnamon, honey, and other things you might need for your coffee. There was also a fridge with water and other cold drinks available. Overall a good experience.
