My husband and I drive many miles to go to Tia Gladys, their food is exceptional, and authentic Mexican meals. My favorite is the hard shell tacos, and the waitress Candy is very sweet. I highly recommend the little restaurant. ❤️
Great Service, Friendly Wait Staff! Went in for a cup of coffee while my car is being serviced at the Mission Express lube and Adriana and Monique made sure I am taken care of while I was waiting for my car.
Very nice and helpful Monique served us and we had a ball. The food is very good, homemade rice and beans, the macho burrito was very good both as asada and chicken, both sauces red and green are awesome. The food came fast. Definitely coming back next time👍
My husband and I have eaten here about 3 times now and every single time it's terrific! The servers, the food and the environment is outstanding! We had the pleasure of being served by the most nicest and friendliest women Nicole and Monique! They are so welcoming, you feel like you're eating at your families house. 10/10 recommend and so far we have tried the huge sampler platter that has a little bit of everything(flautas, nachos and quesadillas with all the sides),beans and rice are bomb! The mar y Tierra burrito, albondigas and a few other things, all delicious! Please come by and enjoy some great food!
Wide variety on their menu. Monique is so nice and very helpful in making recommendations. Right next door to the car wash. Grab a bit to eat while you wait for your car to be cleaned. Everything is made fresh to order
Monique was our waitress, she was very atentive, gave us excellent service the food was pipping hot and we had an overall great chilaquiles breakfast.
Sadly theyre closimg down as of Feb 27th 2026 after 31 years.
It’s a great place to eat. Food is delicious, services was great and atmosphere is perfect. Only downside is that it’s street parking. But overall it’s a great place to dine. I’ve been here three times and plan to go many more. ;o)
This is my favorite Mexican food spot. It’s a cute small Mexican restaurant with excellent food. The ambience/environment is excellent and makes me feel at home as a Latino. The waiters are always very welcoming and will always make sure we are well taken care of. I recommend this place to anyone that ask for a Mexican food recommendation.
Ive been coming to this restaurant for 20 plus years. Ive ordered the same thing every time, the Verde Burrito! 🥰🤤 amazing service, the people who work their still remember me and my family even though we have all moved away. Best Mexican food in the country hands down!
Small place next to car wash. Excellent food at a fair price. Service was exceptional. We ordered 1 burrito and split it between two people. So big still had leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. We will definitely be back to szmple more of their menu
Was in the mood for a chile Verde burrito I decided to give tia Gladys a try I must say the burrito is a nice size green chili tasty has a lil kick to it they could maybe spice it up a lil but that's just me over all the burrito was delicious filling beans were tasty good amount meat and cheese if your in the mood for a green chili burito try this place you won't regret it 😋
Really great food and service. The patio is amazing and their advertised as being known for their seafood. I tried the Baja burrito and it was too big to finish but so tasty and the shrimps were perfect. You get chips and salsa too!
This Mexican restaurant/carwash/Lube express and gas station hidden aways in San Gabriel. Have great traditional Mexican cuisine like seafood, combination plates, burritos and soups like albondiga and Menudo a traditional hang over soup. My wife and I went to Tia Glady to tryout the cuisine this is a very nice restaurant. We walk in and seated right away and the waitess hand us the menu we look what's looks good my wife decided to order the albondiga soup come with rice and bean and tortillas flour or corn. I order the chili renello with green sauce. The burrito was very good cheesy and have so such flavor in this burrito and green sauce was amazing good with pork meat the sauce. I really enjoy my wife enjoy her albondiga soup very much. We need to come back again.
This place is delicious! It is a bit on the pricy side but the good is spot on.i ordered a chorizo breakfast burrito. You can ask for hashbrowns on the side. Burrido only comes with beans egg and chorizo. Definitely needs it. I also got the chilaquiles breakfast plate, drink included. The coffee is so good here! It's got a unique taste. Nothing like a fresh coffee in the morning! The chilaquiles were so good! The flavor was amazing and if you add that red hot sauce they have for the chips , best flavor addition. The server patty, was very nice and recommended a good plate. The atmosphere is very cultured and homey. Food arrived quicker than expected. Filling breakfast. Also ordered over easy egg, on the chilaquiles. I recommend this place for sure
Excellent food, we had the Carne Asada tacos and chicken enchiladas with green sauce. We will definitely be back again. The service was quick and staff super friendly
Love this place, drop your car off for a wash and go eat here!!! I recommend chile quiles and the chile verde burrito… with a michilada😮💨 been coming here my whole life and it just gets better by the year.
I like it...👍 I ordered a fish taco combo, delicious, Patty and Sergio gave me good customer service....👍. 🌮🥤😁🙋🏻♂️
The food was amazing, and the soda has 1 free refill and you dont need that since they give you such a big cup. Service was great and very nice. You can eat either outside or inside. Definitely recommend
We had been meaning to try this restaurant for a while, and we really liked it. We will be back to try more of the food items they have.

My husband and I had planned a nice day for Valentine's Day at the Huntington Botanical Gardens. On the way, we stopped to get a bite to eat at this cute Mexican restaurant, Tia Glady’s restaurant. A small cozy place painted green and decorated as if you were in Mexico. They start you with an appetizer, chips and three spicy Salas, they were delicious! We couldn't stop eating them. I ordered the beef taquitos and my husband the chilaquiles. The food was freshly made and it felt like my mom made it, very authentic. We were so pleased and satisfied with the food and the great service from Nicole. It's so difficult to find Mexican restaurants that serve authentic Mexican dishes. This place had it all, decor, food and service. Keep it up. Oh, this was our first time at this great restaurant and we came from Fullerton!
I have been visiting on this place for many years. And I've never given a review. But after today i heard they may be closing down by the end of the month and I couldn't believe it because the food here is so delicious. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Atmosphere is very relaxing and i wanna say the feeling of being at home.So you're looking for an excellent place to have a good meal.Visit support, as soon as you can.
Came here for lunch and their menudo was delicious. The service here was amazing and they accommodated any request without any fuss. If their menudo was this good, I'm excited to come back to try more of their menu.

The food was absolutely amazing!!! The customer service was not so great. After almost 10 minutes of waiting just to get menus my husband finally walked up front and had to ask the cook for some at which time he started the waitress would bring to us, which took another 5 minutes. She hardly checked on us and seemed bothered whenever we asked for a refill. Other than that our experience was good. One of the cooks not sure he may have been the owner actually came to our table to make sure everything was good which was a nice surprise. All in all we will return hopefully with a little better customer service next time.
Restaurant expanded to include a separate outdoor patio that is well ventilated and attended to. The food is very delicious and delivered fairly quickly. Servers are kind and attentive. Prices however went up and are moderately high. Overall a great place to eat with family and friends.
My go to when working because I was able to get a car wash and lunch in one shot. Been three years and much has changed. Loved the new outside patio for one. Prices for car wash and restaurant are up, but then again, where isn’t it. Food was good, but remember the carnitas burrito a little more fondly. Also only have two types of salsa when I remember they had like five before. Service seems to be full service now, instead of the awkward order at the register then get food delivered to your table. Food and service was good enough for me to go back and hope things only get better all around.
Very nice customer service and good environment. The food is decent and the location is perfect for people waiting to get their cars ready from the car-wash. The place is clean as well as the employees.
Hey where are all my SGV peeps. Tia Glady's has been a mainstay in the are for as long as I can remember. Just love the indoor patio decor. Masterfully done flowers and birds adorn the ceiling giving off this touristy local eatery down south of the border vibe. Had the Beef Cocido (soup) and it was absolutely well done. Easily in my top 5 places that serve this specialty. The beef was not overcooked. It held together through the process but was not chewy at all. Chips, salsa, diet coke, ah man life is good. Not mention next door your can get your car washed and a oil changed. SGV Rocks !

Their Cafe de olla is pretty tasty. Have come back just for the coffee. Their breakfast was pretty decent. The kids had bacon sausage egg breakfast and loved the rice and beans that comes with it. My husband and I shared the machaca and egg breakfast. Complimentary chips and salsa were good. Both breakfast were average but service, coffee, and overall atmosphere was great.

Food is decent, large plates. Outside seating is kind of dusty and LOUD, it’s on a car wash lot, and the music being played is just REALLY loud. Service is not really good either, not friendly or customer service oriented. Ask for EVERYTHING before they leave the first time…they will only come back with the check. Stars are for the food..it was good.
Came here on my old friend’s recommendation, but it was just okay. We went for breakfast-maybe that’s why it lacked flavor? I had an ordinary egg plate, and the refried beans tasted really plain.

It's a cute little hole in the wall place with a large menu, small dining room, nice atmosphere and inflated prices. About 30% more than average for average food quality. Plus the single waitress couldn't keep up with the dining room and to go orders. It took 25 min to get a to go order. I won't be going back. Ever.
My parents and I went to Tia Gladys yesterday Sunday 8/30/20 to go have brunch/lunch. We were told we could pick any open table to sit at. The one we chose was clear so we sat down. After putting in our drink order with the waitress (Dulce) we noticed both the table on my side was rather sticky and one of the menus had partially dried up salsa on 2 of the pages. We let the waitress know of both after giving her our food orders. She said if we'd like to relocate to the next table over we could, so we did. Right before relocating tables, she took our orders. When my mother let her know she'd like to order the Filet ala Plancha, my mother specifically asked Dulce if it was asada, the waitress confirmed. The reason my mother asked her was because she is allergic to fish and wanted to make sure she was getting meat and not fish. I also let the waitress know when she asked what type of tortillas I wanted with my meal, that I would like flour not corn. We waited for our food and enjoyed the fresh air. About 15 minutes later another employee which I think was an expediter/runner, brought our food. Everything looked good..... until they handed my mothers dish to her. Fish. Not meat as explained thoroughly to the waitress. My mother let the runner know the plate was incorrect and that she would like the asada as originally requested. The runner left and Dulce came back to let my mother know that she told her it was fish (absolutely not true) and that asada would take much too long to cook and if she wanted something else instead. Keep in mind she did not bother to apologize for the mistake and did not give my mother an option to get her asada no matter what or even to go or at a discount for the mishap. My mother ended up ordering machaca instead because it can usually be prepared quickly. I also had to let Dulce know that she brought me the wrong tortillas, so I gave back the container of corn tortillas. Once they brought my mothers food and my tortillas, we finished up and packed up our leftovers to take home. The waitress needs training badly. She was not friendly, she was not polite. We have been coming to this restaurant for YEARS and this was such a terrible experience that we are reconsidering ever returning. Please retrain your staff. The lack of sanitation of tables, menus, the mistakes with orders, and no consideration towards the customer is unacceptable. The food was good but the experience was not at all what we were hoping for or what we've had in the past at this establishment.
Usually go to Macho Cafe across the street but gave this place a chance while at the car wash. A waste of $15 for two fish tacos and a drink. The Orange Bang wasn’t whipped and my tacos were a mushy, flavorless mess. They were inedibly soggy because the front counter worker let them sit around while she catered to the one customer at a table. Will never go back. Macho Cafe across the street is much better with WAY better fish tacos.
I have been coming here for the last 3 years since I moved to San Gabriel. Usually get this when I'm waiting on my car wash next door. Don't get me wrong, the food is delicious! But every time I go, the portions get smaller and smaller. But the price keeps going higher. At least keep it the same portions as before if you're going to raise the prices. I'm Mexican and not ONCE have I ever ate huevos rancheros with non fried tortillas. The tortillas I got were definitely not fried and got really soggy with the sauce. Can't justify coming here, if I can get a much bigger plate of chilaquiles/huevos ranchers for the same price elsewhere. This small plate cost $17 not including tip.

I was so excited to try this place the atmosphere looked great, the food on the menu looked good. As soon as we walked in we were told to wait so a table can be cleaned i said ok. Then other people walked in and were seated. Then we were seated and the lady walked back and forth she seemed a busy i kept being patient. The lady walked by us at least six times didn't ask us anything. Then i see the people that walked in after us get chips and salsa and order being taken i said ok i guess im not being served today. The sad part is this is a mexican restaurant and I'm Mexican. My wife is Korean and she couldn't understand what was going on. We dine-out a lot and we always give honest reviews when deserved. No review for the food cause we were never served. First time experiencing something like that.
