This Cambodian couple has been pumping out fresh hot and delicious donuts and more for years. They continue to keep it simple and done just right. I love the additions like Banh Mi, Huge Croissants, Bagels, and even curry leaves that they grow themselves. The donut holes were like tiny pillows, so decadent. She was so kind to let me have an extra donut, extra points for that!
Hands down, one of the best spots to get your donuts and morning eats. Super friendly, remembers regulars, offers free extra donuts depending on order!!! They open early. Like early early lol. Mainly traditional 🍩. Not the crazy, inventive donuts are offered here. They have hot and cold drinks to help you in the morning. If you're not craving for donuts, they do sandwiches too. Bahn mi was one of them. I always get a Tuna sandwich with either a begal or croissant. But definitely check them out.
For $1.50 for a doughnut, I'll definitely come back. It's really nice to have a cheap dessert place when everything else feels so expensive! The owners are also very nice.
Came for bagels and ended up getting the Cambodian sandwich (beef) and the eggs & ham sandwich. Both were generously portioned and scrumptious! The owner was a sweet lady who gave us a few donuts with our orders. We’ll definitely be coming back!
I absolutely love this spot! I don’t live too close to the location but on my days off I always find myself here, I would much rather go here than a Noah’s bagel or some franchise breakfast spot. The food is great and always consistent they’re also NEVER stingy! The couple who runs the donut shop are friendly, they remember my boyfriend and I and always give us extra food (bonus points)! For those of you reading, I do want to touch on the reviews that are lower rated. Those reviews are undeserved and irrelevant. I never experienced hatred or rudeness from the owners! I personally like to review places based on the food NOT the ambiance! At the end of the day whatever restaurant I find myself in, I’m there for the food! Overall, love it here!!
The most Delicious donuts in the area😍😋😋 we have 14 years buying from Tasty Donuts🥰 and always my kids make a celebration, they love it!!. And the owners always have a great attitude, they are a great persons🥰 100% recommended.
Great pastries, donuts, sandwiches, and drinks! Quick and friendly service all the time.
Great place for your daily donut place. The owners are extremely nice and the donuts are always fresh. Many different kinds of donuts to choose from as well as drinks, breakfast sandwiches and traditional cambodian food. They also throw in freebies all the time with your order.
Im always surprised that there aren’t more people here. The doughnuts and bagels are great and the couple that runs it are very nice. They deserve more business
This is a small place so they don’t have a big selection of donuts or pastries, however, they carry the classics which are more than enough in my opinion. The croissants, donuts and apple fritters are freshly made and they taste very good. They are always nice and throw a couple donut holes with your purchase. Definitely come here and support your local businesses!
Beautiful people, amazing sandwiches, good feeling. Everything about Kim and her husband is kindness and respect
This is a nice little shop with a broad menu. I love their breakfast sandwiches and donuts. The owners are SO NICE and often give you a little something extra with your order. This is a great little local spot and easy to get to right off of 280.
Wanted to get our 18 month old donuts for the first time, and this place was nearby. Firstly, the couple is very nice, interacting with my daughter and wishing us a happy new year and giving us an extra few donut holes because our daughter loved them so much. The food is very good and made in a reasonable amount of time for a respectable price. Would highly recommend.
It was a cold winter evening, when my family and I walked into this place. The bagels were amazing. They even heated them up for us. The lady there was so nice, she even let my kids taste the freshly baked donuts. We will definitely come back! 🍩🥹😊♥️
Tasty Donuts always has amazing food. Their donuts are consistently good and their breakfast items like their jalapeño cream cheese bagel and croissants are always delicious. The couple that runs the store are always nice and friendly and they always remember my significant other and I. They are always nice enough to give us extra donut holes too! Tasty Donuts deserves more business.
It's no secret that I love Old Fashions ... Overtime, I've tried various offerings from a multitude of venues across the US, including numerous whiskey bars in Louisville, KY. And wouldn't you know, the best OF I've ever had came from this brewery in Lake Placid, NY! Their Smoked Berry Old Fashion beats them all! Also, I highly recommend this brewery, not only for their OF, but also for their beers, including Unicorns & Show Ponies & their New York State of Mind! So nice to walk into a brewery & everything from the atmosphere to the food & beers/cocktails hits all the right notes! Thank you for setting the standard at top shelf!
Back now a year later and I REPEAT my high recommendation for the LP Pub & Brewery...check out the food-see photos. Also, their outside patio is much more welcoming! This is my own 6 STAR recommendation in Lake Placid! In short, head there for a growler of Ubu, their most excellent English style Ale! Also very high marks for their 3-Putt Porter! The staff is friendly, attentive, and ready always to make suggestions to be sure your visit is remarkable. Bar staff especially! And definitely go beyond the excellent beverages and try their food! I recommend the hummus with awesome pita bread; their tasty wings; and by far...their German style pizza! My favorite is the Mediterranean or try their Pepperoni...both are fantastic! There is so much more on the menu to discover, all great reasons for repeat visits! You can try some of the main street restaurants but I wouldn't bother, just off the main you will find the LP Pub & Brewery! We will be back SOON!
We decided to visit Lake Placid Pub and Brewery for lunch on a Tuesday. There was no wait for our party of 6 and the service by Jackie was outstanding. The food came out very fast and all of it was excellent (standard pub fare). The birria nachos were definitely the favorite, but the Schulzy burgers were also good. They were almost too large! The bathrooms were fairly clean, and the atmosphere was cool with college banners all over the walls. Overall a great lunch experience.
We got takeout dinner here after a long driving day, since this place is right across the street from our hotel, like 1 minute walk. We wasn’t expecting much, but the food absolutely blow us away! I had the prosciutto and burrata sandwich, boyfriend has the California burger. The portion size is MASSIVE and flavor is incredible. The fries that come with the burger is the highlight of the meal, it’s so crispy and salted perfectly, the best fry I’ve had in a long time. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Lake Placid in the future.
Excellent food and beer. Kid friendly and the view of Mirror Lake was amazing. Some people were out on there skating. I loved all the college and university pendants on the wall upstairs. Server was nice. Parking is around corner and it is metered but we only paid $1.50 for an hour and half. I’m sure this place is as great in the summer as it is in the winter.
Wow! It hasn't always been easy finding good food in Lake Placid, so I am very grateful we picked here for dinner. There was no wait when we stopped in this past Sunday evening. We were seated on the 1st floor, near the bar. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, stopping by to check on us several times without being too intrusive. And the food - just wow! We all know food prices are up, so I understand restaurants charging more. Which is fine as long as it's worth it. And it absolutely was! Neither my husband nor I drink, so we tried a South of the Border mocktail instead. Delicious. Pretzel bites (made in house) perfect - not too doughy and not overdone. The cheese sauce was good, although I personally love a good beer cheese, this was fine. Meals were excellent. Their pizza is Detroit Style- one of my favorites - and I ordered the Buffalo Chicken. It really is large enough for 2-3 people to split. Dough (again made in house) was phenomenal. Crispy chicken that wasn't weird frozen product like at a lot of places. Really good. Hubby ordered the BBQ plate, which comes with brisket and ribs. I sampled some of the brisket; honestly as good or better than many BBQ places I have been. And the sauce - I wish they sold it! Ribs were fall off the bone tender. Great deal for the price as it also came with fries, coleslaw, and cornbread in addition to the huge amount of meat. Finally, strawberry shortcake for dessert. Homemade whipped cream and biscuit and you could tell. It was so good, I kept eating long after I should have stopped. We spent a little over $100 for all of this food plus drink including tax and tip. Well worth it. Highly highly recommend.
This is the place to eat, I have tried many of the other local restaurants and so far this is the one with the best food. There was a bit of a long wait and I have to say that I was not disappointed once I have tasted the food. We had the rib steak and I had the burger which was excellent. The cowboy caviar is a skip in my book the kids chicken fingers are great. Salads where good but get the dressing on the side. The atmosphere is nice rustic bar with sports on the television and just good vibes. The 3 floor was nice a quiet and had a good bar.
The owners of the store are super sweet. I was probably one of the last customers of the day when I came I for a sandwhich and a dozen and he loaded me up with free donuts in my bag and box . Super sweet!
Food was great! I dropped by before a hike in the high peaks, and ordered a jambalaya. It was delicious and delightful! While it was spicy, so if you don’t have a liking for that kick it may be better to find another dish. The cornbread was amazing too, buttery and warm. The food was great, and staff were extremely helpful, kind, and friendly. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We miss the old owners. It was an amazing place, but now it doesn't have the same vibe.
The donuts I bought were good and not sweet. However, the donuts didn’t have any special taste. Also, it took a long time to pay with a card and it didn’t work well. + received a few donuts as a service.
we love coming to the brewery and appreciate that it stays open later than alot of other places when you need something to eat after arriving in town or a movie..... however.... the last two nights in a row we decided to eat at the bar because the dining room was already closed and honestly the service was not good. The bar tender was inattentive, abrupt and somewhat sarcastic. It was late and the bar wasnt busy so not sure what the deal is with this guy . While we appreciate the ability to grab a late night snack and love the beer it should be served with a bit of a smile.
Lake Placid Pub and Brewery has a lively atmosphere with a great selection of local ales and beers. My partner especially loved the guava mule — refreshing and well made. Drinks here are definitely the highlight. The food, however, was a bit of a letdown. The buffalo chicken pizza was disappointing- no pizza sauce- a few tiny pieces of chickenand while the salmon was fine, it was overdone and the gravy lacked flavor. Still, worth stopping by for the drinks and local brews, but the food could use some improvement.
So I have eaten at LPPB several times and usually the food and drink is very good quality. The service is always very good and the staff are very friendly. On this particular visit we ordered buffalo wings and a flight of craft beers. Now the wings were so so a little dry, not a lot of flavor and barely any sauce. The beer flights were surprising and I’m hoping this was a fluke. All the beers were served warm and flat. My flight choices looked like a wine flight.
Ordered a skirt steak sandwich that was clearly not skirt steak. They meat was more like a pot roast and we didn’t care for the flavor. French fries were good. Salad, while on the small side for 7.00 was good and the blue cheese dressing was my favorite! My boyfriend got the funky friar beer and said decent. Server was friendly, service was average.
First, I was gonna give it 2 stars but 3 stars due to the food being good enough to fuel our hunger. The main reason for low rating is the service when we got seated, took awhile for the guy server to greet us, for some reason he couldn’t give us two water glasses including warmer than room temperature water as I saw a 5-top got five clean glasses. The worst part of him serving us is he rushed to pay when I was still eating because he quotes “my shift ended an hour earlier” in my head that’s not my problem and I paid to get him out of my face with a low tip. I didn’t catch the guy’s name but it’s one with short-ish black hair with a foreign accent. Now onto the food, Gluten Free sandwich was decent due to the bread being overly toasted to be edible including the macaroni salad but the fish was seasoned well. The wings were good quality and will keep you full for the day. Poutine was okay enough to get the poutine craving satisfied. I did enjoy the Kolsch beer the best. Will I come back again? Probably not after service wasn’t that great.
First time customer and the customer service from the cashier was bad. Did not ask if I wanted anything to be added to my order. Only started to ask when she noticed I was looking around and taking a while to decide if I wanted a drink or not. Also her facial expression looked as if she did not want to be at work. When I got my order it was incorrect and sadly I was unable to go back due to having my car serviced at the time. I was going to rate this place a one but the man who handed my food to me was kind. Now for the overall rate of the food, out of five I would rate a 2.5. What I order was a bagel sandwich. The bread felt stale and there was to much mayo. I felt I was eating mayo only. As for the side donut I ordered it was okay. Not the worst donut in the world. So would I recommend someone here the answer is no. Especially the amount that I spent there, I could definitely have gone to another place that offers better customer service, food, and again better price.
Go for the beer, which is really good. NOT the food. We were on the waitlist, but when we arrived, there was no place to wait. It’s crowded and nowhere to stand. No way to know how they would find us if we stood outside. When we finally got a table 30 min past our time, it took forever for a server to come to us. She took drink orders and went to check on a certain drink, but forgot to check on it. So after asking again, that person got their drink after everyone else had drank theirs. She took forever to come back for food order and she didn’t look busy, just bored. She was going to bring us silverware, but never came back, so I went to the host who got us some. She never checks back about our food or to fill water, just showed up at the end to ask if we wanted dessert. She was indifferent, not caring at all. All of our food in a party of 5 was disappointing. 2 of us got the veggie smash burger which was not a smash burger. It was a frozen disc of a just ok patty. The bun was so dry it crumbled to dust with the first bite. We had to eat it with forks. There was nothing moist on it. It was supposed to have some kind of pesto, but we couldn’t see it. It was so dry and not tasty at all. Another person got a burger with the same sad, dry bun. Not worth the price for what it was. One person got the fish and chips. One small, skinny filet and some fries. It was more like an appetizer, and he was still hungry. Other person got the steak sandwich which was just so so. We were so sad about the food and the high cost for what it was. We would come back for the beer only. Never the food. You guys need to up your game here as you won’t get repeat customers for any of your food.
This was our first visit to this highly rated establishment. We waited 50 minutes for a table, which we gladly chose to do - we were able to grab a drink while we waited. Our waiter (Johan) was excellent. We sat outside. That was almost the end of the highly rated feeling. They were out of four dishes we wanted to order. The food server was downright rude and argued with the table next to us when she brought the wrong dish out, insisting that the patron was wrong about what she ordered. Flatbread tasted store bought. The other table next to us mentioned that the fish 'sans' chips were below average. Our meals were subpar but the salad was delicious. The beer selection was minimal. We felt bad for our waiter as we watched him explain to every table what they were out of and make amends with the orders that came out of the kitchen incorrect. The vibe was nice, but left feeling that it wasn't worth it.
Wish I had better things to say about this place. We went in to grab a pizza to go and had a flight while we waited. Beers were pretty good and found a few we liked, but when got home our pizza wasn't even close to cooked. The presentation from opening it up before we left wasn't amazing but we figured we could look past that. Once we took a piece out when we got home, the cheese and toppings completely came off the pizza and you could pull apart the doughy "crust" in your fingers because of how uncooked it was. Not only was it an incredibly disappointing pizza, it's also just unsafe to serve uncooked dough. Not sure if they were just rushing to get food out, but there were hardly any people dining there and we would've been happy to wait for a fully cooked pizza. Our mistake for not trying a piece in the car before we brought home an inedible pizza....
They have average donuts, just like any place else. I was just very disappointed that on a rainy day they did not let me stand inside to wait for my Uber while I ate my donut. Instead they told me to wait outside and eat it. Eating a donut in the rain just kinda sucked. They have room inside, but I guess to them, everybody is more or less a homeless person who should stand outside instead.
