Great Vietnamese sandwiches! Gets crowded, but the line moves pretty quickly. Definitely worth the wait. Would recommend grilled pork and grilled chicken. The quality is amazing for the price. One of the best around.

UPDATE! Call in your order before you drive over. Pay over the phone and then just collect your Banh Mi bag of joy at the pickup window. Parking your car will take longer! **†***†**** You come here for the excellent sandwiches, that long line out front should not deter you from your mission. We waited about 15 minutes before we were able to enter the shop. Once you're in, keep your eyes on everything to your left. Specialty drinks and other things in the cold cabinet followed by various treats along the way until you reach the cashier. I ordered the #13. This one is pork belly with all of the standard banh mi veggies. Crunchy pickled daikon radish, shredded carrot, a thin long slice of jalapeno and some cilantro. Plenty of pork belly to go with all of those veggies. The entire thing in the most perfect bread there is. The softness combined with a excellent chew, loaded up with all the meat and veggies. No sides needed for this meal. Comes in two sizes. Small is about 4 in long and is $4. The larger size is easily twice that. Buy four of the large size sandwiches and your fifth one is free. There were lots of people in the line that were leaving with a full bag of 10 sandwiches. Food for the entire family! Sunday dinner, San Jose style! After you pay for your sandwiches and other purchases, you'll wait outside to hear your number called. They have a pickup window that they will hand the bag of sandwiches through to you. I highly recommend this place, it doesn't get any fresher or more authentic. I give the atmosphere three stars only because it really doesn't have anywhere for you to sit. It's just a place to order your sandwiches. The atmosphere is one of waiting with your fellow sandwich devotees for the best banh mi in San Jose. It's a good vibe!

Whoa, these are great banh mi sandwiches. and BIG! and only $8 for a stuffed sandwich. okay, there's a long line because it's so good. we went on Sunday 2 pm, normally a quiet time, and it took 30 minutes from arrive to departure. there is no seating. pick up your banh mi sandwiches and go to the park, picnic, or home. service was fine. some complain the staff doesn't understand English, yes they do. it was fine. we'll return.

First time here & didn't know it's well known! Affordable huge portion & close to other Asian markets & eateries! There's even locals selling fruits please 🙏 support! I ordered 5 sandwiches 🥪 from this place & omg 😲 😍 all very good! Next time I'll try the rest & update ! For sure try #2 for their patte sandwich!

The ultimate comfort food for me! A Vietnamese sub...wait, do you call it a sub? I have been on 6 continents, and when time permits, I try to look for a piece of home. The opportunity arose on this auspicious trip to try another local iconic eatery. You know it's good when there is a long line and people are patiently waiting for a humble sandwich. This is a to go only, so don't be disappointed if you are expecting to sit down for an afternoon snack. I was with family therefore we ordered our sandwiches to go to be eaten later. This means the vegetables and normal fixings are not put on the sandwich but bagged up later. Also note, if you like a little more flavor with your sandwich, ask to have the garlic butter anointed on your bread. Later that evening, we heated the sandwiches (without the veggies) in the air fryer for approximately 2 minutes. Watch the time as you can over toast the sandwich. Was it good? Yes, it was good. I tried the roasted pork and chicken. Both proteins were properly marinated and had a wonderful taste. The bread was fresh and appears to be baked by the establishment on site. What set this sandwich from the others I have eaten was the garlic butter. Worth the 10 minute wait in line? Yes. Next time you are in San Jose, give the shop a try. Enjoy.

Pretty great prices, great size and good amount of filling too! Tried the tuna banh mi (16) and it tasted fresh, not overpowering on the fishy smell so would give it a thumbs up! Plus 5.50$? Win win!

Ordered different types...grilled pork, bbq pork, spicy korean pork, grilled chicken and grilled pork with egg (omlette style). I bet it would be delicious if the egg was sunny side up but it would make a mess. People were ordering bread, as much as they can carry and i figured out why. It was soft and freshly bake. A solid foundation for a great banh mi Only option is to get it togo. The customers come in waves (10am) but orders get fulfilled quickly. If youre not eating it within the hour, would recommend getting the banh mi vegetables on the side so the banh mi doesnt get soggy.

Absolutely delicious banh mi! I ordered the cold cut sandwich with garlic bread and it tasted just amazing. The line moved quickly but I waited so long for my order. I politely asked the lady at the window when my sandwich would be ready and she said “wait for your number” even though my order was right there. No seating, it’s takeout only. They had an assortment of other Vietnamese snacks too. Overall while service could be better I will still be back to try the other banh mi!

Went for the hype, does it live up to the hype? Yeeeessir it does. This place is always busy open until close.. its fast to place an order but waiting for your food can be a hit or miss... especially on weekends when there's a million ppl ordering 10-20 sammiches. I got the garlic bread dac biet and the regular one cant really taste the difference especially when your mouth is burning from the chili.. they dont skimp on the meat, nicely thick cut with pate and butter. The sandwiches here were pretty good, we tried the Garlic Bread Cold Cut, which offered a twist on the traditional banh mi. While I wish the garlic bread had a bit more flavor, the concept was creative and still enjoyable. For the price and generous portion size, it’s definitely worth trying. I could easily see myself coming back again and again. You really can’t go wrong here.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ = Solid, recommended (1=Avoid, 3=Standard, 5=Can't miss) and probably one of the best deals in terms of price and what you get. The chargrilled flavor of the meat that you get here is great and at $8 a sandwich (for most of the items) I would come back again when I am in the area. Haven't tried any of the drinks, but in past visits we did have some of the snacks and grabbed extra rolls, but feel like you can skip them and just grab more sandwiches especially if you buy at least four to get one free! Parking is a bit of a hassle, but don't sweat the line, it moves pretty quickly.

I came on a weekday around 6:10 pm and received my order in about 15 minutes. The line wasn't too bad, though it's usually packed on weekends. They were still baking fresh bread, and it smelled amazing. The value for banh mi here is really good, if you order four sandwiches, you get the fifth one free. I ordered two grilled pork (4/5), one cold cut (4/5), one BBQ pork (3/5), and one pork belly (3/5). Grilled pork and cold cut are always my go-to choices. The pork was well seasoned(not sweet today), and the cold cut was packed with meat (love their pate). The BBQ pork and pork belly were a bit dry and lacked flavor this time, though some days they're pretty good. Overall, their sandwiches offer great value for the quality and quantity of meat. This is one of my go to spots for Vietnamese sandwiches when I want something quick and simple to eat. If you want to spurge a little (extra $1.75), the grilled pork with egg is really good, the creamy egg yolk really elevates the sandwich, acts like a sauce and keep things moist as sometimes the sandwich can be a bit dry.

Heard a lot about this little bahn mi sandwich shop. Mostly from social media. Arrived pretty much right after they opened and it was already crowded. You enter to order and then wait outside for about 15 minutes. There were so many people waiting that they put a partition between them and the taqueria on the corner so people don’t wait in front of it. Anyway, pretty standard bahn mi shop selections, the typical sandwiches and odds and ends goodies. I wanted to know about sandwiches with pate and tried asking the lady taking orders but the language barrier was too challenging and I never found out. The sandwiches were pretty darned good. I think it starts from the bread which is soft and delicious. I liked the BBQ pork but it was missing some pizazz. Like maybe salt. Or could use more of that pickled radish. Heavy dose of cilantro was good though. And they had pickle which was new to me. My friends had the grilled pork and really loved it. I took a bite and agree… go with the grilled pork. Maybe the grilled chicken also. Certainly would like to have it again but is it worth the wait, is the question. Oh and it’s a pure take out place.

Stopped by this spot for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised. The vegetarian banh mi was packed with fresh veggies and flavorful tofu, all nestled in a crispy baguette. Service was efficient, though the cash-only policy was a bit inconvenient. Parking was manageable, but the small lot filled up quickly. Overall, a solid choice for a tasty and affordable meal
