Champa kitchen is out go to place for halal pho. Their spicy beef pho, seafood pho are delicious. In fact, everything we have tried here has been flavorful. We visit this place at least once a month because the kids love the noodle soup. The meat is light, and you never feel heavy afterwards, even after gorging on so much meaty food. The rice is soft and fluffy and the salad veggies are tender but crunchy. The owners are warm, welcoming and always polite. Highly recommend this place.
Amazing service and food is excellent. Felt very well taken care of even though it was very busy. Enjoyed the chicken fried rice, shaken beef, paratha and walnut shrimp. Highly recommend.
Very good food and service, I got the beef pho and green Thai tea and they were really good. Restaurant atmosphere is very nice, they have Islamic art on the walls and even a prayer area! They also have a video playing on the TV about the Champa Kingdom and history of Islam in Vietnam. Overall 10/10 would come back
For those looking for a halal pho restaurant — good news! 🍜 Champa Kitchen in Los Gatos serves halal Vietnamese soul food with beautiful broth, savory flavor, and finger-lickin’ goodness. ✨ Totally worth the trip! The popcorn chicken is a must-try, and it sounds crazy — but you have to try the fried rice too! 😋🔥
Highly recommend the spicy beef pho with egg noodles, with a side of mango passionfruit drink, super refreshing with the spicy hot pho!! Also highly recommend beef banh mi, very fresh and flavorful. Very kind owners too! 10/10, I could eat here every day!
I’m so glad that they reopened at this new location! This is one of my favorite restaurants in all of the Bay Area. My favorite dishes are the shaking beef, and lamb curry. You will be thinking about the shaking beef for weeks guaranteed!! The food was halal, and we also really enjoyed the popcorn chicken, the fried basil was amazing as well.
Truly some of the most delicious and tender beef I’ve ever had. You must get the shaking beef when you come, it is melt in your mouth delicious and ask for it spicy if you like spice. Truly outstanding, we also got the bon bu hue which was comforting and so flavourful and the beef rendang was also packed with flavour. I would honestly keep coming back just to have the shaking beef! It was also nice and clean and the food came out in a timely manner + place to pray!
Let me just say don’t even think about it & just come here already! I had never tried Halal food before and this place has everything! So much flavor! Literally everything 10/10!!! Definitely coming back! The owners are super kind and welcoming!😬
Came here to get halal Vietnamese food, we got the beef Pho, Chicken Pho, egg rolls, and Spicy beef Soup. Everything was delicious.
Wow I was devastated when they closed and now I'm so happy they have reopened under same ownership. The taste is 100% just as good as it was before , maybe even better. I highly highly recommend the shaking beef. One of the best items I've ever eaten. While it is pricey, the serving sizes are good and its worth every cent.
Came for the 1st time at their new location, we got Beef pho, chicken pho, and egg rolls. Everything tasted really good and fresh, just like before, we were seated right away and the we only waited a little bit for the food to be brought to us. They serve only Halal meat. Will definitely come back again.
Great experience at this halal pho spot! This is the first halal pho spot I have found in the Bay. The restaurant was clean and welcoming, and the service was incredibly kind and attentive from the moment we walked in. The food came out hot and steamy — just the way pho should be. The broth was rich and flavorful, with the perfect balance of spices. I recommend the beef pho (it was so soft) but we also tired the seafood one and it was tasty. Generous portions as well. Lastly tried the lamb curry, good flavor! Highly recommend if you're craving something warm, hearty, and made with care. And it’s all halal! Bonus they even have a prayer spot!
Highly Recommended this Halal restaurant- clean sitting / quick service / tasty meal and very positive atmosphere. This my first time to try Vietnamese halal options in Bay and it’s total worth paying every penny here.
I was so impressed with this Halal Vietnamese restaurant! The Pho was absolutely delicious—rich broth, fresh ingredients, and generous portions. It’s hard to find authentic-tasting Pho that’s also Halal, but they nailed it. And the best part? The prices are unbelievably affordable for the quality you get. Friendly service, clean space, and fast turnaround. This place is a hidden gem. I’ll definitely be coming back again!
We tried the spicy beef pho, chicken pho, chicken popcorn and a chicken entree. Everything was absolutely delicious and service was excellent.

We recently visited the new Champa Kitchen location in San Jose, and it was such a great experience. The old location was one of our favorites, so it’s really nice to see Champa Kitchen back in the Bay Area again. They serve halal Vietnamese food, which we truly appreciate, and it’s especially thoughtful that they also provide a prayer space. That’s something you don’t often find, and it makes the restaurant feel very welcoming. For food, we ordered the spring rolls, the paratha, the beef pho noodle soup, and the Champa rendang slow-cooked beef. Everything was delicious — the flavors were rich, comforting, and clearly made with care. The pho was satisfying, and the rendang was incredibly tender and flavorful. The atmosphere is casual, but the space is clean and comfortable. You’re not coming here for a five-star fine dining experience, but the quality and taste of the food absolutely stand out. Overall, we’re so happy Champa Kitchen is back, and we’ll definitely be returning soon.
Some of the best, wholesome cooked food I've had in a while. Ordered the popcorn chicken- was blwon away how moist it was. The chicken fried rice & beef pho were some of the best I've had. Having a halal vietnamese place is a blessing! Staff is kind and attentive aswell. Reasonable pricing overall too.
Absolutely delicious. The broth is so rich and flavorful. The staff are so welcoming and kind, super sweet family. Best place for authentic Vietnamese food that’s also halal! My husband and I drive from sf to enjoy the pho. I would highly recommend the beef pho and popcorn chicken. Excited to come back :)
Really great food and an unusual cuisine. Champa (an ethnic minority within Vietnam) so they have Pho but also Rendang, shaking beef etc. We loved it! We went early; by 7pm there was a line out the door.
I had the paratha, spicy beef soup, and the honey walnut shrimp. Young coconut water to drink! The food was delicious! I really like honey walnut shrimp, these were delicious. Maybe a slightly less amount of mayo. Would eat again! The broth in the soup was the right spice level and rich in flavor!! The paratha was a favorite, so I ordered more to take home. Overall really nice vibes here. Good for singles, families, and casual dates! Good parking and easy to find.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS ! We ordered Champa Lamb, Spicy Beef Soup (Bún Bò), Egg Rolls, and Salam Cola. Everything was extremely delicious — honestly, all the dishes were amazing and I highly recommend them. The place is very clean, comfortable, and they even have a prayer space, which made the experience even better. We loved everything and will definitely come back.
Amazing halal food. Such a breath of fresh air in the light of the halal fried chicken fever. Unbeatably umami and flavorful chicken and beef pho, crispy and hot spring rolls. Staff allowed us to pray salah in their clean and beautiful designated prayer area, and even offered to let us come by even without ordering if we were in the area and needed a place to pray. We will be sending plenty of people their way. Cannot recommend enough. Food, service, and environment are impeccable.
I recently tried this halal Vietnamese restaurant and ordered the spicy beef soup with egg noodles. The broth was flavorful, and the customer service was excellent—everyone was so kind and welcoming! I also had their lychee and mango juices, which tasted incredibly fresh and even had bits of real fruit inside. My only critique is that the portion size felt a bit small for the price, but overall, it’s a delicious spot worth trying!

Soups are good. Flavorful and just the right amount of spices. I wish they used better cuts of beef to add more depth.
Champa Kitchen is a beloved halal Vietnamese restaurant that recently reopened in the Berryessa neighborhood of San Jose. Although I'm not the biggest Vietnamese fan, I can confirm the food still holds up after the relocation. In terms of quality, I enjoyed the Shaking Beef "Bo Luc Lac" the most. I was also happy with the Fried Egg Noodle (with chicken), Champa Lamb, & Champa Rendang. I was surprised to see an Indonesian dish, but the restaurant takes inspiration across Southeast Asian. My friends enjoyed the pho & noodle soups. Despite quality being overall high, quantity (and thus value) is a bit mixed. Sometimes the portions tend to be on the small side, especially the rice plates which may not even fill up one person. However, the soups provide more bang for buck. The restaurant aesthetic is simple but fairly clean. There is a small prayer area if you need it. The service was fine, too. Since halal Vietnamese food is so rare in the US, I would encourage anyone (especially Muslims) to give Champa Kitchen a shot. These small businesses are worth patronizing.
