This is the first time I have ever eaten at this restaurant. I didn't know what to expect, but it was by far the best authentic Mexican food I have eaten in San Jose. Highly recommend it...

I always go there to buy my tamales 😋. They make them so delicious. I know the owners of the place and they are so nice and very friendly to me. At Christmas time my brothers and I order some tamales from them and usually they are cheaper by the dozen. We always get at least 4 to 5 dozens. This is such a nice place to eat it is also a restaurant. I just love there food.

It's a lil mom and pop type business and it has been around for ages. It's a restaurant and it also doubles as a store. The lady(owner) and the cook were very friendly and welcoming. It's also very affordable and their a la carte menu has many options, I found them to be very affordable. I'll be coming back to support their small business.

For those complaining that they had to wait, homemade Mexican food takes awhile to make fresh when you’re not cutting corners. I appreciate spots like this because it means I don’t have to spend 2+ hours in the kitchen making the same thing.

Don't judge till you try it.... Once I noticed the OJ was fresh squeezed I knew the food wouldn't disappoint. I was reminded what real Mexican food is supposed to taste like. The atmosphere is a bit of a throw back but it makes it even more authentic in its own right.

The menudo was delicious, it had that homemade taste we were hoping for. And it wasn't over powered by the red Chile sauce used to to turn it red. So it was just the way we love to eat it. A Mom and Pops country store and restaurant atmosphere. Authentic Mexican food and hospitality, I had menudo, with all the fixings.........yummy!!!!!, the owner treated me warm and inviting like a mom would at home. Some may say it looks a bit shabby or maybe even a bit the worse for wear, or even shabby chic, but I’d say my experience was like going to Mexico and being invited to a friends grandmothers house in a little village and being greeted with loving open arms, the most lovely smile, and the flavors of Mexico. That is the experience that stands out to me mostly....... I loved it and will go back again.

Its like taking a stroll in memory lane.... the owner is really heartwarming. the decor and environment literally takes you back to the Mexican 80's or even further back. The jukebox still plays the awesome vinyl records!

Is a cozy place with home cooked meals I will say the best chilaquiles I've had in the bay area. I cant give it a 5 star because I wish the place was cleaner if they change little changes can be made and it will make it 100 times better.

Dumpy hole in the wall, that usually means good food!!! Not a nice place but good tacos (handmade tortillas are a plus)... I ate here because I was stuck in traffic and decided to just exit the freeway and try the closest Mexican place.....

Not to bad, pupusas are good but you need to know than sometimes is gonna be a long wait so is best call to order for pick up.

Heard so much about this place so I decided to stop by and give it a try. Tacos were nothing special If you want really good Mexican food go to Tacos El Pastor on Bascom Avenue way better food and way better prices.

Way to over priced.. pupusa that I ordered tasted like nothing but masa. Meet inside was way to salty. Chicken soup for $13... way to much for a medium sized bowl. Customer service was good, but that was it.

My family was in from out of town we ordered 3 bowls of posole waited almost an hour only to get A BOWL OF BROTH A THIN STRIP OF PORK MEAT AND ABOUT 15 HOMONEY I was so embarrassed and upset paid $78.00 for FLAVORED WATER !!IF YOU HAVE MONEY TO WASTE COME TO THIS PLACE I wish I would have taken pictures I WAS SOOI UPSET I DIDNT THINK TO TAKE A PICTURE

Service is slow, took 45 minutes to serve a bowl of posole that had 2 small strips of meat and 25 pieces of homoney all broth for 10 dollars and 95 cents plus tax, I ordered 3 bowls of posole and 4 tacos and 3 sodas and came to 65 dollars plus tax, this place is a rip-off not satisfied at all

I've been going to this place for years. I used to love it. Now for past 4 years off & on, when I go by myself & bring friends to give them more business. The older man, guess the owner has been extremely rude to me & my friends. I feel he's prejudice He treats us differently then other customers. Can't believe I kept giving them chances. The food, for me, went down hill too. I want to say, his wife is a sweet heart though. But because of him, I will never go back, & I live right across the street from them too. There is no reason to treat your customers bad. I feel very uncomfortable going there now.
