Love Hapas and their beer, the vibe and love having them as a local business. I was bummed when they closed due to Covid19. But they're here and available for curbside pickup and the beer is just as great. I miss hanging out on Sunday afternoon, but until then their curbside pickup is great.
Busy place but got a table for a birthday bash on a Friday - brought our own food - and people bring their dogs and their families - lots of space but fills up - one nice guy and one mean guy pouring from the taps - typical - been awhile - no corn hole set up this visit From photo - 5/23 menu Mercury was delish Truth an Beauty - was frothy Rare Earth - was bitter Cheers
Hapas has a great vibe and great beer! They typically have food trucks that you can grab food from. And an area for corn hole. Parking is a little funky here, but if you get here early you’re bound to grab a spot. I haven’t visited during covid but I know they have social distancing protocols in place. My suggestion is to try the Miracle Mac Brut IPA if they have it on tap. YUM!
Love this place! To call Hapas a bar is a understatement. When you see the open atmosphere, friendly servers, families including kids, dogs, all over the place, unpretentious music, cozy relaxed atmosphere, you realize this place is special. My dog likes to go here more than me!! Great crowd very casual. Each and every one of their local brews is good. Dog-friendly so many ppl being their dogs here inside or on the outside patio. There is always a food truck parked at the dock during busy hours. Great outdoor patio for hanging around or playing. There is a section which can be reserved for private events. Must visit if drive by or live close by.
Love this place in SJ. They have a select variety of beer but each one is carefully selected and hits all the right notes. Atmosphere is fun. They dont have food but it can be ordered from a truck parked outside. They have board games. Would recommend for evening drinks!
Really cool building with inside and out seating. Inside had a great breeze and air flow even in July. Beer was good and service solid. Hungry Dog was the best out of the few I tried
Nice brewery with food trucks onsite. Usually have no issues finding seats. Good beer selection but parking is difficult.
What a great Brewery in San Jose! I was here visiting family and they brought me to this brewery which was close to their home. The atmosphere was great! I would call it barn or warehouse chic. It definitely had an industrial vibe. It was busy and there is plenty of space. There are games to play at your table and corn hole set up at the side. There was a food truck outside to soak up the suds. Speaking of suds...they have very solid beer. Our table did a flight, and all the beers were very drinkable. But the one I got really excited about was the ghost something (can't quite remember the name). It was excellent, complex and refreshing! Like any brewery in the West...its going to be IPA heavy, but I like IPAs so it was fine with me. This place is also very dog friendly which I love.....you can't beat drinking hooch with your pooch!!! I will be back next time I visit!
Ok this a definitely a stop you need to check out. Having been generally impressed by Hapa's Los Gatos I thought I'd visit the San Jose taproom. It's located in a industrial themed spot with a host of other cool businesses within the complex (pinball arcade, small batch coffee cafe). The taproom itself is typical industrial feel, nice bar and plenty of seating with a back area that is adjacent to train tracks which I really liked. There was a taco truck at the front of the complex if you wanted to grab a bite. The most important part of my visit was the beer and it was great, I'm sure you'll find something to your taste. The overall vibe is excellent and should be on your stop if doing a beer crawl in the area! ———update. Aug 2025: Stopped in again recently - it was a really great vibe in the evening on a Friday night. Had a few beers, there was food truck and people were really enjoying the time. Also, it was nice to see all ages here, folks with their kids and older people too. I like that. Dog friendly.
Well put together micro brewery, located in San Jose with excellent beer offerings, an amazing ambience, occasional food trucks, ample parking, and generally just a great place to go on a lazy weekend or weekday. This is a brewery located in what seems like an open hanger and has an amazing set up. They have offering severe ranging from IPAs to loggers to sours, to anything you can imagine. Everything we tried here was excellent. The prices were actually really generous too. They don’t offer much food at the bar, but a food truck alleviated that concern. While we were there a Colombian style food truck pulled up and started offering a bunch of food directly at the door. This was an amazing experience and the food was good. It complemented the beer. We got French fries and crema topped with hot dogs and cheese. Amazing. They also have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with board games to play for free. We ended up playing dominos for an hour or so. They allow dogs, and it’s right alongside a railroad so you can sit down sipping a beer and watch all the trains pass by. Great place.
Always a great time at Hapa’s Brewing in San Jose! The atmosphere is perfect for relaxing with friends, and the beer is consistently amazing. Whether you're trying something new or sticking with a favorite, the quality never disappoints. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience even better. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!
It is a nice brewery that shares an industrial building with multiple businesses. They don't serve food directly. But, food vendors are brought in. Parking is limited to whatever is available in the back of the building.
Good Pet-friendly place. Super good variety of different styles of beers. My favorite was the courageous Chameleon! A fruity sour blend, perfect for hot days. Getting food from the food truck takes forever, so take your time if you want to get something to eat too.
I have been here twice now, and I think I will be a regular. They have a nice variety of beers to meet your every mood. My only complaint is that they don't open until 4:00 on weekdays. I went first on a Friday, and it was very family and pet friendly. I next went on a Thursday, and it's an excellent place to get some work done.
Amazing place to hang out or work while drinking great beer. Amazing atmosphere with the rustic high ceiling interior and selection of music. Usually a food truck on site. Will definitely be back.
Born out of a friendship and a love for brewing, Hapa (mixed heritage) Brewery and Tap Room distinguishes itself by offering a wide variety of beers, all of them of superior craftsmanship and quality. I sampled Barbie's Blonde, Wondo's Pils, Amish Rifle - Red Ale and Little Angel - Mocha Stout. Loved the coffee/chocolate essence of the stout. No opinions on the IPA's as I am not a fan of these in general. The tap room space is ample and spills outside to patios. Food is from a truck. Tonight was Brooklyn thin crust pizza, which was excellent. The crowd is diverse and many bring their dogs. There are games one can borrow. I will be back!
Cool brewery with excellent IPAs. Only seating out on the patio due to Covid right now. Great place to come by to have a few beers with friends and family. There's always a food truck around.
This is a standout brewery among the San Jose options and we had a fantastic time there. They have a very long and varied list of brews + games + food from a delicious food truck.
Very cool warehouse-y ambiance with shuffleboard, TV's, board games, and corn hole. Yummy beer flights were just $9 for 4 flavors. Dog friendly too!
It was a good experience. My first time there and the place is very spacious. Outdoor dining was a nice experience, tables spread a good amount of distance and just a great environment to chill and hang out. The only drawback is the tram that passes right next to the building. Good selection of beer for those beer enthusiast or others that just want to have a drink and socialize. You definitely will not be disappointed. If you are wondering what beer I enjoy, I do enjoy sour beers or stouts. So this time around I had the Pesky Penguin. Nice crisp taste, tart but not extremely sour and just an overall good beer. My taste buds are different so it might either be too sour or not sour enough. Employee wise, all of them are wearing their masks and they have notes everywhere for you safety during these times. My experience so far they are a friendly bunch and helpful. They lead you to open sitting area and explain a few things to you. They come by your table to pick up any empty glass often. Overall great time with new friends and great place to unwind. Cheers!!
My friends and I came here after lunch. The parking lot is kinda small, but we managed to find a spot. They don't serve food, but they do have a food truck outside. We each ordered a flight, which came with 4 tasters, for $9 each. I got Barbie's Blonde, Little Angel, Cranky Cougar, and St. Claire. They have a paper menu that had a description of each beer. The Cranky Cougar was probably my favorite. It was a raspberry sorbet kettle sour. It was refreshing for the hot summer. The other beer's were also really good. Inside was really big, as it seemed like multiple parties were happening. They had a selection of board games too. I would definitely go again; they have a good variety of quality beers for really cheap! A really nice place to chill and hang out.

In A Nutshell: -Hapa's Brewing Company is a great brewery in a unique warehouse building that is parallel to the VTA light rail so you can see a train zoom by sporadically which adds to the overall environment. -FYSA...Hapa means a person who is partially of Asian descent. -The beers here rotate quite often & are very good. -This former warehouse has totally transformed into a cool place to enjoy good company, food & beer. -It's very dog friendly too. -There is usually a food truck outside in case you get hungry. Overall, this is a nice brewery very close to Willow Glen, definitely worth checking out!
I liked the beer, also enjoyed the food option they had though I wish it was listed on their social media or website. Service was good, I also wish they had more seating options. It gets crowded and the small barrel tables aren't very comfortable.
Great selections, and each beer has its own unique taste. Highly recommended! And the pizza food truck outside of the brewery is amazing too!
Great family and pet friendly brewery Parking is a bit limited, so don't be surprised if you gotta go around the spot at least once. The flight is the best first round since you can get a scope of their selection. Their sour, golden ale, and triple are solid choices No food from the brewery, but there's usually a food truck outside
The space is very inviting, and the beers are interesting. They had live music on the day, and loads of people with their dogs (probably not related). Overall a bit hipstery, but would visit again. Some of the staff were really nice.
Enjoyed the ambiance and decor. Friday night was packed so chairs were hard to come by. Also lots of kids and pets. Beer was good and pizza truck was definitely a plus.
Location is good, it’s a very casual atmosphere. Visited around 7pm and it was very crowded with limited seats available. There is also outside sitting. Dogs welcome. Beer is amazing. I order a flight to get started, Barbie Blond was my favorite. There is a food truck outside.
Great Facility. OK Beer. The place is well appointed with lots of seating, a bunch of game options and of course a bar. There was some outside seating as well. The beer though was pretty standard. They were decent examples of the styles, but nothing too memorable for me. I'd definitely go back to hang with friends, I'm just not sure I'd seek it out specifically.

Beer was hit or miss. Non-IPAs seemed to be better. Music was a real turnoff - the speaker system also hit or miss. Parking impossible. Overall, not the vibe we were hoping for, but good for kids as there are board games and plenty of space.
